The news came as a shock. Things like that rarely happened and when it happened, it was always something to do with the rogues and the guards were usually alerted quickly before the rogues could dominate the guards at the boundary but this one clearly looked like something done by a member of the Pack.

It was very disturbing and they couldn't help but question who had done it or why they had done it. The Alphas were informed about it the following morning, and they were very shocked about it. It still went a long way to say that some of the Pack members were still plotting against the Pack or doing something that will be detrimental.

The Alphas were well aware that not everybody in the Pack liked them but plotting against the Pack and hurting a guard voluntarily was a very big crime that attracted a very big punishment but the problem was- "who did it?" Those were the questions running in and out of everyone's mind at the moment. They had no idea no idea had done it and why it was d

Lucas rasped loudly from where he was standing. He was far from the two Alphas so he had to raise his voice for them to hear him."I am beginning to suspect that this must be the work of rogues, but I think these rogues are not the normal kind of rogues we usually see. You know, anything is possible." Lucien replied to him with a disapproving look on his face. "First of all, rogues wouldn't dare venture this close to the pack's borders. Number two, rogues are rabid. They wouldn't just knock you out, Lucas. They would kill you and if possible, rip you open and eat you. And this was done in a very calculated way, clearly. Can't you see all of it, whoever did this was very calculated and they didn't rush it. Rogues would have been noticed a mile away because of their erratic behavior. So I don't think that's something to argue for, I think it's either someone from this Pack or even an outsider, someone who is up to the task, someone we should find and apprehend before they do their wor

Alaric was still resting that morning after the sun had risen. He found it hard to come to terms with the nightmare and he was desperate to find a way to deal with it immediately but it wasn't still going away. It stuck to him like a leech and refused to let go.That's when he heard a very sharp cry pierce the air. His heart jumped when he heard the caw of the raven. He quickly got up and peered out of the window, and that's when he saw the hawk flying around the place without perching. He felt so tense as he stood up from his bed. He wondered what this meant, it had surely come with a news but what was it? He wondered what it was and he also attested it to the nightmare he had earlier. Was it going to be something bad? He thought as he made his way towards the doorway. He opened the door and quickly strutted through the passageway, noting the sweet smell coming from the kitchen. But he didn't care to talk to Orphillia, compliment or even thank her for her thoughtfulness. He was wor

Alaric without a single word rushed out of the manor, his heart still pounding but this time he felt much better. "Hey, where are you going?" Orphillia asked, seeing him bullet through the hallway like someone was after him. But he didn't answer her, in fact he hadn't hadn't noticed she was there. His mind was already set against meeting the seer and solving the issue that was after his life. Orphillia's brows drew together as she tried to figure out what had happened to him. She wondered why he was in such a haste, like he was in some sort of danger. His behavior had been off recently, she thought, and she just wanted to know what it was that was troubling him. Normally he would come to the kitchen and kiss her, tell her how much he loved her and oftentimes they made out but he always drew the lines when it started to get out of hand. That was the first stable thing she had noticed about him. And now, he was beginning to act strange again, worse still he never told her what was wr

Alaric's SUV tore through the asphalt in haste. Something told him he had left his room open but he was doubtful about it. He wasn't quite sure about it but he closed it every time he was leaving the house so this might just be his mind playing tricks on him and trying to stress the f*ck out of him. He was very cognizant of how life normally threw sh*t at you whenever things weren't going on well with you. Everything always seemed to become very hard and your mind was always at a star of unrest. This was one of those moments, he thought as he concentrated on the drive ahead. He was very focused so he could get there on time and without any problems. It was better to be late than late, he thought. Besides, even if it was open, he knew Orphillia would never dare open it. He had warned her on numerous occasions to steer away from his room, threatening to deal with her if she ever dared to disobey that order. Thankfully she wasn't the type that always talked back. She was very submissi

Orphillia was utterly shocked the moment she woke up. The first thing she remembered was holding the letter in her hand before she fell asleep. A pang of panic surged through her immediately as she imagined what would happen to her if Alaric had found the letter in her hand. She knew he was around because he was the one who had awoken her a few minutes ago. She sensed a presence and that had woken up immediately, she wasn't a deep sleeper. She jolted from the bed immediately and looked around her, a shocked gasp leaving her mouth as she looked at her palm only to see nothing. The letter was gone. And she wondered where it might be. She jumped up from the bed and looked around her. That's when she spotted the paper tucked away under the bed. She quickly got of the bed and reached for it immediately. A sense of dread was already starting to spread all over her gut. She wondered what he was going to so to her because of this. That's because she knew he would find out soon and she wasn'

The sun had risen quite quite that day and it glowed over the Pack territory but the atmosphere that morning wasn't a good one, especially for the Alphas. They were gathered around the Big table, a palpable silence in the air as they debated on how they were going to handle the issue that they were bound to take care of. After the revelation by the general, they decided to question all the guards that had been on night duty the night that the attack happened. That was because if they were out that night, then they would know what had happened. They must have surely seen who it was, that was if the attack had come from the inside of the Pack and not from the outside. They hoped the men would have some news for them. That was the only thing they could hope for, else they were going to have trouble finding who the culprit or culprits were. They tried everything they could that day, racking their brain and thinking but nothing came to their mind, so in the end they all decided to shift

"Everybody leave us!" Liam thundered across the room as he tried to control his anger and not let it out on anybody. He didn't want people saying he was evil and that was why he ordered them to leave. It was simply unacceptable. Everything he was hearing felt like some sort of joke to him and he couldn't comprehend what these people were really thinking, or rather, what they had thought while doing their job. A part of him wanted him to be soft on them but that would be the greatest mistake he would make. Even though he knew they were not fully wrong, he showed them how angry he was so that they would be extra careful next time, that was if people would still try to do anything as bad as this when he was done reforming the security and increasing the standards. He was ready to give them the bashing that each and everyone of them needed because it seemed like they had been slacking in their work lately. The tension in the room was almost tangible as the guards turned around to leave.

Laim continued to gaze at the general even though he wasn't really there. His mind was somewhere else, far away from the room where they were deciding what it was going to be and how they were going to stricture their plans and go after it. This was already the second day since they came back from Seraphina's place and they were already bound to leave. He knew they had rested much and already had to leave the Pack for Orphillia. And he was thinking about how they were going to leave with the map. But the problem was the present situation. He had no idea how they were going to go on both missions and succeed at the same time. He was even starting to suspect that they were already forgetting that they had a mission to accomplish, a mission that was very much important. He knew that if anything happened to Orphillia and they stayed back defending the Pack or vice versa, it would be very bad. Two things were at stake here and they were very important. He couldn't understand why these

There were a lot of emotions cramped in the room. From shock, to and and disbelief. Lucas and Liam sat in the dimly lit room. The curtains were closed and every opening of the basement room was locked to prevent anybody from hearing or knowing that they were even there. They were dealing with a very fragile situation, one that required total silence, concentration being away from the world. They were in the basement the Packhouse, looking at the letter which had arrived some days ago. And the words in the letter just told them what exactly they needed to hear. Elara's involvement in the whole thing just told him how blind they had been the whole time. He wondered why they hadn't even arrested her at first. But he knew that things were already OK. There were no more killings or strange events for two days now and he was very happy about it. They knew, however, that they still had to watch the Pack for some time before concluding that everything was really ok. In the meantime they h

Thr sun was starting to rise from the horizon when Lucien woke up. He was very tired but he knew he couldn’t not waste any more time. He had things to do and wasting wasn't one of them. Thankfully he had found the potion the previous day. He wondered how he had forgotten about it when it was the most important thing in the mission besides the map. He felt so stupid and berated himself mentally after finding out that that was the only thing holding back their mission. He had seen how vexed his guard was over what was going on but he didn't say anything. The guard looked quite frustrated and Lucien could tell that the guard was gradually getting tired of the mission. It was almost a week that they had been in the wild, travelling to get to the location. Well, he hoped that this would change a lot of things and they wouldkl be able to find the abductor and release Orphillia. He wanted to go for a run in the woods but he said no, not when the potion was around. He didn't trust anybody,

Lucien woke the next day with a very happy look on his face. He knew that their mission was going to come to an end soon but he was also aware that this was even the hardest part of the journey, defeating the abductor and taking Orphillia back. He remembered every signal advice he had gotten before he began to make his way here. He didn't forget any of them and had lived by the word since then. They had served him well though. He was also proud of himself that he had thought outfield thr bo in one of those occasions and spotted that the first guard was different. That was how he had been able to defeat the enemy that was sent to kill him but the other guard helped him as well. He slowly roused from the floor where he had passed out last night and looked around. He saw the guard in the distance. He was hunched over a fire, not moving at all. The morning was still very cold and a sbti dark also. The guard turned around, seeing that he was awake. "How is it going?" The guard greeted h

Without wasting more time, Alaric immediately held her and moved her towards the chair that was already waiting at the side of the room. He immediately placed her on the chair and began to tie her with the ropes he had gotten. He made sure to tie her so tightly that she wouldn't be able to shift at all if she tried to. The chair was connected to a very strong platform that would guarantee she could not move or fall if she wanted to. He wanted to keep her immobile and if it required killing her, then he wouldn't have much headache getting it done quickly. At the same time he wondered how he had become evil all of a sudden. But he knew it wasn't his fault. It was the case he was after. He wanted her all to himself but things didn't go the way he wanted, so he was going to make sure everyone else felt the same pain he had been going through and the ones he would go through if he lost everything. He walked out of the room and locked it immediately, shutting off the emotions and the sen

Orphillia knew damn well that Alaric had lost his senses the moment she woke up to hearing some sounds in the living room. She left her room immediately and began to walk towards the direction of the sound, her heart beat getting more and more louder as she neared the sound. That's when she peeked, hiding by the other side of the wall and hoping he wouldn't see her. He was walking around the living room with a very bad look that suggested he was in some sort of trouble. She thought about the evil Alphas he had told her about and wondered if they were the reason he couldn't even get a good night's rest. He was always walking around looking so worried and getting pissed by the smallest things. She had no idea what was happening to him and hoped that he would recover from whatever it was he was going through at the moment. But at the same time she knew that he couldn't recover from it all alone. Maybe he needed some help, she thought. But when she thought about that, she remembered ti

A few Pack members were walking down the mansion mansion they heard a thud. Wanting to know what it was, they rushed towards the scene immediately, curious to know what had fallen and what they saw shocked them. They began to scream when they realised that someone had fallen on the ground and it had culminated in a very bloody and gory scene. She looked so broken so various parts of her body stuck out in unnatural and awkward angles. Her neck was twisted and it hung loose from the rest of her body. Hearing the screams, one of the guards immediately rushed towards the screen with a very worried look on his face and as soon as he saw the body, the other guards around were alerted to the scene immediately. The guards were very shocked as they saw the scene. They immediately altered the two Alphas who were in the living room, discussing. "Alpha," the guard rasped as he ran into the room, his voice shaking. They immediately stopped what they were doing and listened to the guard. "It's

"So nobody knows the name of this man, not even his workers? Must be quite mysterious indeed" Liam asked, looking worried as he tried to remember anything like that. He felt as if he had been told about it before but he remembered nothing. He simply gave up, looking very worried."And that reminds me, Lucas." They communicated through the mindlink now, wanting to keep some of the things they said secret."I remember the general had gone with some guards to the inn on that day, do you remember him saying anything that must give us a clue as to what this man's name is?" He asked his brother. But Lucas said no. "I mean if the general said anything you should have even recorded it right?" Lucas replied after shaking his head. They continued to stand there, each of them thinking about the things that were happening before them. He was happy that they were getting somewhere at least. Lucas knew that the Inn was a place where a lot of people gathered everyday, and he also knew that connectio

The reality of the situation soon spread among the guards there. They were quite shocked at what was happening and wondered if there was any way things could be resolved quickly. Lance, who had caught the courier, was the first person who seemed to suggest something about it. The other few guards who were with him seemed to be confused about what to do. He strictly informed his fellow guards to say nothing about what had happened to anybody until it was resolved. After that he decided that the best action would be to take the matter up to the Alphas and see what they were going to do about it. "So what is it going to be?" The other guards asked, as soon as each and everyone of them noticed what was happening. "I am taking both to the Alpha as proof. And once he confesses, we will see what the Alphas will do about it. I think that's all we need to do now." He said, sounding very tense. "Don't you think you might be disturbing? It's late already. You wouldn't want to-" one of the gu

Alaric was deeply worried as he stared in the living room, his head buried in thoughts as he thought about the things that had been going on lately. He was very worried about a lot of things and wished he could just get his kind off them but it seemed impossible. He couldn't understand why things were happening this way but he knew he had to endure every moment of it and look for answers. But the strange thing was that he had been looking for answers for days now and he had not yet found any. The death of the Seer couldn't be explained till this moment. He wondered what might have brought about that, if he had been attacked or something relating to it, but he still got no answers. Every now and then, he sensed Orphillia's presence behind him. He knew she was probably wondering why he was feeling that way, why he was moody all the time. He had already gotten over her behavior which he found quite annoying. He wished she could just chill and stop proving him with her worried looks an
