Samantha
Two and a half months have passed since Kennedy and I formed our mate's bond and the attack on her and Anna. The council accepted our union and we will take over once she learns our ways and takes part in a ceremony to join our clan.
She and Anna have become close since that day and are often found together with Amanda. Something was off about this morning and I couldn't figure it out. Since she's been here, Kennedy is up before the entire clan and making breakfast.
This morning started off as usual, but as she stood up to clear her plate, Kennedy lost her balance and had to grab onto the counter. Even our connection through the bond was weird. I thought maybe she was nervous about the ceremony coming up and kept encouraging her she'll be fine.
We were taking a walk as the first snow started to fall when she brought her hand to her forehead, grabbing for my arm with the other and missed. She looks at me with hooded eyes before collapsing in my arms. I carry her to the infirmary and Martha could see the worry in my eyes as I carried her unconscious body.
"We were out walking and she just collapsed," I choke in a scared whisper. "Our connection through the bond has been weird all morning. I thought it was because she was nervous about the ceremony tomorrow..."
"Breathe, Samantha," Martha says in a soothing whisper as I lay Kennedy on the hospital bed. "Has anything changed other than her collapsing?"
"No," I choke quietly, shaking my head as she drew blood from Kennedy's arm. "What are you doing?"
"Running a few tests that could be the cause of her collapse," Martha says in sympathy. "Did you want me to send for someone to sit with you?"
I shake my head lightly, holding Kennedy's hand. Tears roll down my cheeks as Kennedy continued to sleep. I look up as Anna walks in with concern. "I was on the trail behind you and saw her collapse," she says in a comforting tone. "I remember collapsing when I found out I was pregnant with Amanda."
I must have zoned out because I came to my senses as Anna was trying to calm down a very scared Kennedy. "I need Sam," Kennedy chokes in broken sobs and I take her in my arms.
She held onto me as if I were a lifeline. Her body trembled with fear as I reach inside her shirt to stroke one of her scars and she shutters a calming breath. "What's happeneing to me," she chokes in a scared whisper.
Before I could answer, Martha walks back in with a smile and says, "Congratulations, you're pregnant."
Kennedy breaks into uncontrolled sobs and tears of joy roll down my cheeks. "Shhh, I'm here. I'm sorry for zoning out, but I'm here now," I say in a soothing tone. I look between Martha and Anna and ask in a serious tone, "Please keep this between the four of us until she's ready to break the news."
They nod with understanding and Anna takes Kennedy's hand. She looks at Anna and Anna says softly, "If you need someone to talk to, you can always come find me."
Kennedy nods lightly and turns her face in my neck. "Can we finish our walk? I don't want to draw too much attention right now," Kennedy chokes in a shaky breath.
"Of course," I say softly and help her down from the hospital bed. She sways on her feet and I hold her waist to keep her balance. "Maybe we could go lay down and just tell them you're nervous about the ceremony."
Martha comes over with two bands and places them on Kennedy's wrists. She pulls the sleeves of my shirt Kennedy was wearing over the bands and says softly, "These will help with the dizziness and nausea. They're pressure bands for motion sickness, but they work great for pregnant women with severe dizziness and nausea.
"Try not to shift if you can help it, it's not good for your baby. Come back tonight and I'll do a sonogram to check on your baby," Martha says in a soothing tone and Kennedy hugs her with relief.
"Thank you Martha, this means a lot to both of us," I choke with relief and she nods lightly. I look at Anna and she nods lightly with a light smile. "I'm glad she has someone like you to talk to."
"My daughter and I wouldn't be here if she wasn't there," Anna chokes quietly and I knew what she was talking about. "Zeke wouldn't be here."
"I'm feeling tired," Kennedy says in a tired whisper, resting her head on my chest.
"It's normal sweetie," Anna says softly, rubbing her back in comfort. "You can nap with Amanda."
"Thank you," she says quietly with a tired smile.
I walk her back with Anna and she and Amanda fell into instant sleep. I pull Anna in the hall and ask in a choked whisper, "How am I going to keep the baby secret when she's supposed to shift at the ceremony tomorrow?"
"One shift isn't going to harm the baby Sam," Anna says in a soothing whisper as tears fill my eyes.
"If she didn't drink my blood, there wouldn't be a baby. She's not going to shift if she thinks it's going to hurt the baby," I choke quietly as the tears fall down my face. "I need to tell my parents."
"Let her sleep and let her tell them," Anna says softly and I nod with understanding. "Get in there and lay with your mate."
I hug her and go back in by Kennedy. Amanda was snuggled up in Kennedy's chest with Kennedy's arm wrapped protectively around her. I climb in behind Kennedy and caress her stomach. I kiss her shoulder and she hums with content.
I don't remember falling asleep, but woke up to someone getting sick. It took a second to remember that Kennedy is pregnant and rush into our bathroom. She was still getting sick and I pull her hair out of her face.
I rub her back in comfort and she leans against me, breaths shaky. "If I'm feeling like this now, I'm not sure if I can get through the ceremony tomorrow," she says in a breathy whisper and I kiss her temple.
"Let me tie your hair in a braid and get you back in bed. I'll bring my parents here and we can talk in private, okay," I ask softly and she nods lightly.
I tie a loose braid in her hair and tie off the end of it to secure it. I help her back in bed and realize that Amanda was gone. "Anna took her a half hour ago, I wasn't feeling well and wanted to stay with you," she says in a wavering whisper.
I kiss her forehead and say softly, "I'll be be right back, okay."
"I love you Samantha," she says in a wavering smile.
"I love you too Kennedy," I choke with a smile and give her a kiss.
I head out in search for my parents and found them in the kitchen. "Sam," my mother asks with concern as soon as she notices me. "Everything okay?"
"Kennedy and I need to speak with you and Dad, in private," I say quietly and she looks behind me for Kennedy. "She's waiting for us, in my room."
"Sweetheart, what's going on?"
"Not here, please," I choke quietly and they nod with understanding.
We head back towards my room and that uneasy feeling through the bond got worse. Not sure about this feeling, I ran the rest of the way and my parents followed without question. When we got back to the room, Kennedy wasn't in bed.
My mother closes and locks the door as I run to the bathroom to find Kennedy. She was getting sick again and I comfort her. "Anna is at the door," my mother says softly with concern about Kennedy.
"Let her in, she already knows about what we want to tell you," I say quietly as I rub Kennedy's back.
Kennedy leans against me as Anna joins us. "Kennedy, its Anna, can you hear me," she asks softly Kennedy gives a slight nod. "Can you open your mouth for me sweetie?"
"What is it," I ask concerned about what she was giving Kennedy.
"Something for the nausea, its harmless, I promise," she says softly, holding up a ginger candy. "I had a bag left over."
Tears roll down my cheeks as Kennedy accepts the candy from Anna. "Thank you," I choke quietly.
Kennedy
I could feel how scared Samantha was through the bond. I've felt it since I woke up in the infirmary. It's stronger now when Anna offered me a ginger candy. I hug her arms around my stomach and nuzzle my face against her upper arm.
"I'm okay Samantha," I say in a wavering whisper and she kisses the top of my head.
"Let's get you back in bed, okay," she says in a choked whisper and gently lifts me in her arms. "Anna, will you stay for this? Please?"
"Of course," she says softly.
"Samantha, what's going on," her father asks with concern as she helps me get comfortable. "Shouldn't she be in the infirmary?"
"There isn't anything Martha can do for her Dad," Samantha chokes quietly and her parents were really concerned about me now.
"I'm pregnant," I choke quietly as tears roll down my cheeks, wishing I could share this news with my own parents. "We found out a few hours ago."
I break into uncontrolled sobs and no one knew what to do. Picking up on what could be bothering me, Eloise takes me in her arms and says in a soothing tone, "I bet, wherever they are, they're proud of you sweetheart."
I sob into her chest and feel Samantha rub at my back comfortly. "Is there a way we can postpone her ceremony," Samantha asks in a choked whisper. "She's already been sick twice and Martha already warned her not to shift if she can help it.
"I don't want to risk our baby during this ceremony. If it wasn't for my blood healing her internal damages, we wouldn't have this baby," she chokes in a scared whisper.
"James, we should let her get passed the first trimester before we try the ceremony. We can just say she needs more training in our ways, that is if you two aren't ready to tell the others about the baby," Eloise says softly as she rocks gently to calm me down.
"We want to wait," Samantha chokes quietly as I start to fall back to sleep in her mother's arms.
I shutter a calming breath and feel as Eloise tries to lay me back against the pillows, but I wouldn't let her go. "Mommy don't let go," I murmur quietly as I fell asleep.
I woke up the next morning, but I wasn't on Samantha's chest. I sit up, I guess a little too fast because my head started to spin. I grab hold of my head and groan. My stomach started to twist from the nausea and I scramble out of bed.
I make it to the bathroom in time to get sick and felt someone rub my back, but it wasn't Samantha. It wasn't until I lean against the person comforting me that I realized it was her mother. "I'm sorry you have to see me like this," I choke in a wavering whisper.
"Nonsense, you're having my grandchild," she says softly, caressing my stomach.
"Where's Sam," I ask in a choked whisper, getting emotional she wasn't in bed with me. Tears roll down my cheeks and choke quietly, "I always wake up with her."
"Shhh," she says softly kissing the top of my head. "She took your place to make everyone breakfast to have an excuse to bring you some breakfast in bed. All the paired mates in our clan do something special for their mate so no one will suspect anything."
"My mother was pregnant when she was killed," I choke in broken sobs and turn to hold onto Eloise. "Will that happen to me too if they find me again?"
"Oh, sweetheart, no," Eloise says in a soothing whisper, rubbing my back in comfort. "We won't let that happen to you, I promise."
"What about Sam? I can't lose her trying to protect us," I sob in a choked whisper.
As if on cue, Samantha bursts into our room and into the bathroom. She scoops me from her mother's arms and sits with me on our bed. She slips her hand up the back of my shirt and strokes one of my scars. I shutter a calming breath and Eloise was amazed at how quickly I was calming down.
"She has scars, from a silver blade. I trace one of them when she gets overwhelmed," Samantha says in a soothing whisper. She kisses the top of my head and says, "I'm here, it's okay."
"She's scared Samantha and I know why," Eloise says in a soothing whisper. "If you want I can tell her when you're not around?"
I nod lightly and shutter a calming breath as Eloise joins Samantha, tracing one of the many scars on my back. "Have you ever partially shifted? It would only be your fa e and hands that shift and would still be considered a shift for your ceremony and if you feel threatened," Eloise says softly.
Without much effort I could feel my leopard ears poke through my hair, fur replace the skin of my hands and face. I could feel the claws instead of finger nails and feline fangs instead of human teeth. "I've been doing it since I was six, after they used silver," I say with a scratchy cat voice.
As quickly as the partial shift came, it was gone. "Can you teach me how to do this," Samantha says in an amazed whisper.
"I'm not sure if I can," I choke quietly. "Fearing for your life at six years old and wanting to protect yourself..."
"Shhh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you," Samantha says in a soothing whisper and caresses my stomach. "I have motivation to learn."
"Can I wear one of your sweaters? Your scent is helping with the nausea," I say quietly, nuzzling my face in her neck.
"I'll get her some clothes," Eloise offers softly.
Eloise gives us privacy and Samantha helps me dress. Someone bursts through our door and I partially shift, letting out a protective leopard growl. It was only Anna and her eyes widened at my half shift. I shift back as Samantha soothes me, shaking her head at Anna.
"I'm sorry, but someone in the clan is planning to harm her. She's mad that Kennedy is your mate and not her. Somehow she found out about the baby and is telling the whole clan. It's Grace," Anna says with a hiss.
"Stay with her," Samantha says in a protective tone.
With her eyes locked on mine, I watched as she partially shifted with ease and darted out the door. Anna held me as I started freaking out, calling out for Samantha. I was scared of something happening to her like my parents. I crumble like a broken cookie against Anna and she gently rocks me from side to side.
She reaches inside my shirt the way Samantha does and traces a scar on my back. I stiffen as a leopard enters the room and Anna says in a soothing whisper, "Its okay sweetie, it's only Zeke. He won't let anyone hurt you or your baby."
"Whose out there protecting Samantha? I need her Anna," I choke in broken sobs.
"Shhh, I know you do sweetie. Grace will stop at nothing and Samantha knows that. She's strong, I have no doubt she'll come back without a scratch," Anna says softly and I shutter a calming breath.
"Where's Amanda," I ask in a shaky breath.
"She's with my mother," Anna says softly.
Samantha returns a few minutes later, hands and face covered in blood. I break into relieved sobs and push passed Zeke to go in her arms. "She's no longer a threat," Samantha says quietly. "I made it clear what will happen if someone threatens my mate and our baby."
SamanthaLooking in Kennedy's fear filled eyes and it's all it took for me to partially shift. I took off to find Grace while Kennedy kept screaming for me to come back. I spot Zeke and ask him to shift and guard my room.Members of the clan clear a path, pointing in Grace's direction with fear in their eyes. She turns from her friends and says with a snarl, "That bitch doesn't deserve to be your mate. It should have been me pregnant with your baby. I'll wait for her to be alone before I kill her and that thing growing inside her."I let out a deafening roar before tackling her to the ground, clawing at her face and chest before biting out her throat. The entire clan circled around me, my parents included and I point at Grace's lifeless body. "Let this be a warning to the rest of you who dare to threaten my mate and our baby," I growl in my leopard voice.Everyone lowers to one knee, heads bowed in respect. My mother walks up to me and whisper
Samantha The apple pie I made for Kennedy was out of the oven and cooled for an hour. The stew she and my mother prepared was ready to eat and I went up to see if she was awake. I open the door to our room and she was fast asleep with Anna trying to lift her arm to take Amanda. She lets out a sleepy growl and Anna pulls her hand back. I couldn't help the soft giggle from escaping and Anna looks at me for help. "At least she's aware of someone trying to take her while she's sleeping," I whisper with a smile. I curl up behind her and nuzzle my cheek against her shoulder. She lets out a sleepy purr and I lift her arm so Anna could retrieve Amanda who seemed like she was still asleep. She starts crying and Kennedy sits up in half leopard form, growling protectively. Once she realizes it's only Anna she calms down and shifts back to full human form. I felt a strong uneasy feeling through the bond and help her to the bathroom. I rub
KennedyIt's been a week since I killed six members of Samantha's clan for trying to attack her. It's also been as long since I found out I was pregnant with twins. Things have been calm since then and I can tell Samantha is grateful for that and honestly, so am I.Tonight I will go through the ceremony to officially become part of the clan. I was hanging with some of the girls while Samantha helped prepare her the ceremony. She's been comfortable leaving me with members once everyone accepted me. I don't blame her for wanting to make sure I'm safe.We were sitting in the entertainment room, watching a movie and I wanted something to snack on. I got up to head for the kitchen and my head started to spin. I sway with a hand on my forehead and Maria stood up to steady my balance."Are you feeling okay? When was the last you ate," she asks with concern."Sam," I say in a wavering whisper and pass out in Maria's arms.Van
SamanthaI woke the next morning to Kennedy growling protectively. Christie, the girl who told us about Kelly was trying to take her from under Kennedy's arm while she was sleeping. Kelly was latched to Kennedy with Kennedy's arm wrapped protectively around her waist. She bows her head, scared of me and chokes quietly, "I'm sorry. Your friend Anna asked me to bring Kelly down for breakfast.""Tell Anna I'll take care of them when they wake up," I say softly and she looks up with relief when I didn't tell. "It's okay, Kennedy gets protective when she sleeps, especially when she's napping with Anna's daughter."She nods lightly with understanding and looks at Kennedy's sleeping face. "We're all grateful to be liberated from Carolyn's rule. We've been waiting for the day one of us would finally stand up to her. I just never imagined it would be Kennedy of all people," she chokes quietly and leaves the room.I rub Kennedy's arm in comfort and she
Samantha I know I normally stay with her while she's sleeping, but I want to go with the others back to their community. I want to go find her family home and bring something back of her parents. I only hope I get back before she wakes up. I brought Kelly to Anna's mother and asked her to check on Kennedy while I was gone. Anna told me I should stay, but I had to do this for her. I had to bring back something for her. When we made it to their community a little over a half hour later I started searching for her childhood home. Some of the others gave me directions and when I found it, I couldn't believe my eyes. The house was burned down to the foundation. There was nothing, but a pile of charred rubble. I sifted through the remains of the house for what felt like hours and was about to give up when something caught my eye. I squat down, picking up the burnt frame and took of the back. Inside was a photo, burned at the edges, but oth
Kennedy Five weeks have passing the blink of an eye. I started my second trimester last week and at thirteen weeks pregnant, my stomach was starting to form a little bump. Samantha can't keep her hands off my stomach and smiles every time she looks at my growing belly. Thankfully the nausea has long passed and I don't need to constantly drink the ginger tea. My appetite has nearly doubled since the beginning of my pregnancy and Samantha is relieved. Kelly kisses my stomach before bed and every morning. She's been sleeping in her own room and only comes in our bed when she misses her family. Samantha leaves a rose on her pillow every morning before she heads down to make breakfast. It brings a smile to my face every day, no matter what mood I was in the night before. As the pregnancy progresses my mood swings are like a ticking timebomb. Everyone steers clear from me when I get into one of my moods, especially Samantha. She'd come running whe
Kennedy I woke up the next morning and Kelly was tracing her finger over the spot I hit my head. Her small lips kiss my temple and I hum a content sigh. "Good morning mommy," she says with a smile. "Good morning sweetie," I murmur quietly and she lays facing me. "Are you feeling better," she asks with concern and I nod lightly. "Did you want to come with me to breakfast? Daddy must already be downstairs." "I'd love to," I say with a smile and we make our way down to the kitchen. Sam looks up from the tray she was arranging and comes over to me with concern. "How are you feeling? I was on my way with breakfast," she says softly, sitting me in a chair with the whole clan watching. "I feel fine," I say softly, showing her through our bond. Relief fills her eyes, caressing my face and gives me a passionate kiss. She pulls away as tears roll down her cheeks and I was left confused by her actions. Did something happen las
Kennedy I woke up fuzzy headed and groan with a hand on my forehead. I could feel Samantha behind me and she lets out a relieved breath. She caresses my stomach and I feel tears at my back. "You've been out for two days," she chokes in a whisper. "After you collapsed, I killed the council. They knew it would happen and didn't say anything. I lost it." "I'm sorry," I choke in a wavering whisper. "No, it's not your fault. You only did what you thought was right. Just promise me, no more full shifts until after they're born," she chokes with relief. "I'm not sure I'll ever do another full shift. My head feels like it's under water," I say in a breathy whisper. I place my hand over hers and ask, "Can you sense them? I'm too fuzzy headed." "They're fine," she says in a soothing whisper and I let out a relieved breath. "Do you want to try eating something?" "Please, thank you," I say quietly and she kisses my forehe
Bethany The next morning I woke up to the smell of breakfast, as usual, but Kennedy was still cuddled facing me in bed. Samantha and Skylar were cuddled at our backs and I cuddle closer to Kennedy. I bury my face in her chest and her arms absentmindedly wrap around me.Her orchid scent helps calm the start of a wave of nausea and I let out a relieved breath. I feel Samantha move closer to snuggle at my back with her face buried in my hair. I let out a content sigh and feel Kennedy kiss the top of my head.I look up at her and she kisses my forehead. I smile lightly and we both slip out of bed. We walk down hand in hand and saw it was those who knew about us pregnant cooking breakfast. Food laid out like a buffet on the island in the kitchen. Anna is the first to notice us and comes over. "Good morning, we wanted to surprise you with breakfast," she says with a smile."Thank you, everything smells delicious," she says with a smile.Amber comes over with two plates with bacon, blueber
SkylarNine weeks have passed since the twins were born. They have gotten big and we discovered that the twin who resembles Samantha is a boy and named him Michael. The twins that resembles me is intersex and Bethany named them Evan, an unusual unisex name.Kennedy is back to her normal comfort zone with the clans, but she's still leery about leaving the twins without someone she completely trusts and the list is short. She still makes breakfast every morning and everyone has gotten used to it. They often bring her snacks or offer to tend the twins when she's tired. There have been a few times the three of us come down for breakfast and a handful of members are helping her about the kitchen as their way to repay her for making enough for everyone to eat. This morning went as usual. Kennedy woke up before everyone, made breakfast, but something felt different in our mate's bond. I wasn't sure who it was because lately we've felt like one. I try to single out each of our bonds and when
Bethany It's been three days since Kennedy broke down about Skylar's mother not warning them about Carolyn. Sky does her best to keep her mother away from Kennedy but she still manages to get near her. She has claw marks on her face from Kennedy slapping her in half leopard form. Blood currently trailed down her neck as she sat on the floor looking up at me struggling to hold her back. We quickly came to realize that I was the only one who could calm her when it came to Skylar's mother. Unfortunately I was in the bathroom when she approached Kennedy. I swiftly turn her in my arms and she holds onto me, breaking into uncontrolled sobs. Clan members went to get Sam and Skylar as they were still trying to figure out living arrangements for everyone. Eloise enters the kitchen first and takes in the scene before her. "I suggest you go to the infirmary and stay away from Kennedy," she snarls in anger as Sam and Skylar come running in. "Mom, I think you should go back to our territory.
Bethany I woke up cuddled with Kennedy in the den. Looking over her shoulder and she was still sound asleep with the twins tucked protectively under her arm. Samantha and Skylar were gone but I could feel them close by, thanks to the mate's bond I now possess. I tuck hair from her face and smile as a faint purr comes from Kennedy. I look up as Eloise enters the den with a light smile. "I just spoke with Sam and Skylar," she says quietly and I nod, knowing she was indicating about me forming the mate's bond with Kennedy. "I just wanted to see how you two were doing, but I'll let her sleep. I know what's going on with the news about Rose and Skylar's mother." Tears fill my eyes and nod lightly. She gives a sympathetic smile before leaving the den. I nuzzle my face in her hair, breathing in her intoxicating scent of orchids. After getting hints of it for weeks, it's the only thing I want to smell and can't seem to get enough of. I feel her leopard reach out and Abigail accepts her.
****this is still before Kennedy has the twins. Next chapter picks up after they form the bond**** Bethany I woke to Kennedy nudging my side and spring up to a sitting position. I immediately saw the hurt look in her eyes and say in a soothing tone, "They went hunting. We don't know when you're going to shift back so they want to make sure there's a fresh kill for you." She gets up and I follow her to the garden. She let out a pain filled growl and I kneel in front of her, holding her face as she pants with relief as it passes. "I need to get you back to the den, I think you're going in labor," I say in a soothing tone. I lead her back to the nest but she was too restless. I rub at her stomach as she nuzzles her face in my stomach while I scratch at her ears. Her breaths were ragged and I helped her get comfortable with her head in my lap. Martha comes in with the portable ultrasound machine and I say in a soothing tone, "I think she's going in labor." Martha rushes over and b
****For those of you last chapter who were surprised Kennedy has a third mate this chapter will hopefully give you the answers why. This chapter starts off in Bethany's POV and she will start having her own POV from this point forward. Also just so you're not asking questions, this chapter is through what Bethany experienced while Kennedy was still pregnant and before the betrayal of Kennedy's clan. Without further ado.....****Bethany I was in the entertainment room with Kennedy, Anna and a few from our clan. She wanted to build this cuddle nest after she did a full shift to comfort Skylar with missing Rose. I was braiding her hair, admiring how soft her hair felt. I noticed she was falling asleep and stop playing with her hair when she let out this disappointed sigh.Anna said she was enjoying the affection and I went back to braiding her hair. She looks back with tired eyes and for a brief moment, our eyes held contact. In that moment I felt a slimmer of a connection with her, mor
KennedyI woke from my nap with the twins gone, Bethany still asleep and Skylar still wrapped at my back. She gives my shoulder a kiss and I relax. "Sam asked Riley and Anna to feed them in the nursery a few minutes ago. She's settling in the remaining of my clan so I could stay with you while you continued sleeping," she says in a soothing whisper.I feel my body relax against hers as relief settles over me. Remembering what happened before I fell asleep with the twins, tears fill my eyes. Learning I had a sister I never got to meet and will never get the chance tore my heart to pieces. It made me want to bring Carolyn back from the dead just to kill her the same way she killed Rose.I feel my connection with both clans open wide and each member immediately responding with a pull to their bonds with me. Bethany opens her eyes, seeing the tears in mine and hesitantly moves closer. Claire reaches out to her through the bond and she instantly takes me in her arms as soft sobs escape my
KennedyI let Riley carry one of the twins down when she asked knowing she was upset with whatever her parents had to tell me. I know Amanda helped distract me when I was upset so I didn't refuse her the comfort a baby seemed to give her at the moment. Bethany carried the other twin wanting to hold one of them in human form.Samantha's parents and a couple I don't recognize, I presume to be Riley's parents were waiting in the kitchen. As soon as the woman saw me she burst into tears. Alarmed of her reaction and a thick lump filled my throat. It took a few attempts before I could ask in a choked whisper, "What's going on? I thought you asked to see me?"Another couple enters the kitchen resembling Skylar and her mother asks curious, "Are you Kennedy? Daughter of David and Regina?"I shift into my half leopard form and ask in an angry growl, "What business is it to you?""Twenty-two years ago a couple came to us, seeking help to get out of their clan. They had a five year old daughter n
KennedyThe cubs have been up, walking and playing with each other for a few days now. None of us know when they'll take human form. Sam and Skylar occasionally shift and either play or lay with them to give me and Bethany a break. They've been exploring the clan house with one of us with them or one of Skylar's guards. At the moment they were feeding as I lay in the nest of blankets, getting my ears scratched from Anna. I haven't really been able to sleep much after that dream I had of losing Sam and Skylar. Security was being made air tight as we speak. Stronger windows were being installed throughout the clan house along with more secure doors to get in and out. They had already done the windows where I've been nesting and Anna was sent to help get me to sleep. She starts stoking my head and moments later I feel my eyes grow heavy with sleep. I look around for Sam, Skylar and Bethany but they weren't in sight."Relax Kennedy," Anna says in a soothing whisper and I lay back in her l
