Leo

She wasn't different, if not for her hair, once slightly past shoulder length, had grown longer, enough to sweep into a ponytail. But no, instead, it flowed down, slightly haggard but remained neat all the same. It looked more ethereal than anything, akin to a fairy.

“You're back.” She said. I fought a smile on my face at the obvious she stated, proving that she was stunned, if not processing my presence.

It was alright though, I was doing the same after all.

Her scent was warm and comforting, and for the first time, I resisted the urge to come closer. A strange thought considering that I had never wanted to embrace anyone aside from Sierra.

There were these thoughts again.

It was homesickness, surely. She… she reminded me of home.

I swallowed.

“You look the same,” I said, swallowing at the lack of words to say, like it always was during times like this.

“So, how much of a troublemaker was my sister?” I said, shifting the topic to Sierra. We were always more comfortable when it ca

IsabellaThump. Thump. ThumpThe constant clash of the sharp metal against the wooden board with every movement, amongst the slight hum of the other appliances was what filled my senses.I bided my time cutting the vegetables in the kitchen to prepare for dinner tonight. It was therapeutic in a way, freeing my mind from all thoughts. Yet the slight sensation of his hand on my wrist lingered, and I had no idea why.So I continued chopping, mixes of golden, red, and green vegetables diced were kept in a large bowl, yet I still cut up more.“That's where the noise came from.”His voice made me turn alert, only to relax once I saw his face. No longer in the business clothing, he wore a long sleeved shirt, also in the color black.I turned away as quickly as I could, so he didn't notice me ogling. He didn't leave. Instead, his footsteps drew closer until I felt his presence inches away from my side.“How's Agathe doing now?”“She's better, almost recovered,” I responded to his question qui

Isabella’s POVMy thoughts raced around gaps I couldn't understand.Pressure came onto my shoulders gripping hard. Each sensation felt muted.“Hey! Isabella.” A voice called out.“Breathe… please breathe…”I shook my head. It… he didn't understand.“I…can't…” I choked out. “Focus on me. Hey! Look at me, okay? What can you see? Five colors.”Colors? “Trust me on this. Can you tell me five colors?”My sight was shaky, fixated on the image I saw.The first thing I saw was blue. One which sparked almost golden. It was the image of the sea as the sun came up. The second I saw was black. Seas and rifts that came near waves. It wasn't though, rather strands stuck out.The third thing, as I looked down, was black. The lines of the collar were so intricate, even its color couldn't hide the layers of threading. The fourth thing was the creamy color of skin. It was arm, the pores visible, and yet, smooth. The fifth and last thing I saw was peak, lips cracked tooth tinted peach, slightly cracke

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   An open secret.

Isabella’s POVDuring the past few days, my interactions with Leo had been little. He never brought up the matter again, and I didn't know whether to be relieved or to feel something else. Early that morning, I spent my time watching the cold snow on the porch, sitting on the chair I placed. Treasure was awake yet content to continuously watch me while murmuring mama to me. I hadn't gotten used to it yet, and I doubted I ever was.The entrance door opened suddenly, and I looked as Sierra stepped out of the door.“It's cold out here, Izzy.” She noted.“I don't mind,'' I shrugged, looking at her. She was fully dressed, as though she wanted to go somewhere.“Where are you going?” I asked lightly, not wanting my unease to filter out.“I'm going out to meet Damian. He's taking me to an inn somewhere. We're going to spend Christmas together.” The smile she had was small, yet the look in her eyes showed the true happiness in her expression. And yet, it filled me with nothing but unease. I w

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   A tough decision.

Isabella's POV Silence filled the kitchen as the word was spoken. Agathe stared at me, surprise evident at the current situation. One would have thought there was someone else in the vicinity, someone like Leo, who at hearing himself as the core topic of discussion, instantly objected, throwing us both in for a loop.It could have been Sierra, who for some unknown reason came back and heard us in the kitchen, didn't want us discussing her brother. I would have been subjected to her ire, especially after the events that happened only minutes ago on the porch. But it was neither of those. There was nobody standing at the door of the kitchen, or anyone else at all. Leo was likely still in his room, Sierra hadn't returned, and it was only Agathe and I alone in the kitchen. It took me a few moments to find that it came out, not from anybody else's lips, but mine. It took me another second to stand by my words.“Agathe,” I began. “I honestly think that there's no need to tell me. After all

Leo“Leo?”I turned towards her, only to find her gaze locked on me. She said nothing, and she looked contemplative. It was times like these that I wished I could peep into another's mind.A thought came to my mind about what she was potentially thinking of, and I couldn't push it away. Was there a chance that she was thinking of my offer?“yeah?” I asked, hoping to gain some insight into whatever she was thinking. How long was I going to wait? Seconds passed like minutes, yet she said nothing. She shut her eyes. Then she shook her head, giving me a small smile. “Nevermind. It seems like you're still busy.”I swallowed against her words, disappointment bleeding through me. Still I moved on, giving an uncharacteristic comment before she left.Seconds after she left, my gaze remained fixated on the door. It was only after I caught myself did I move back to my desk fast or could have caught whiplash. Was she going to ask regarding my offer? I wondered.Ever since that day, the topic ha

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   The calm before the storm.

Isabella's POV I ended up chatting with Claire and even greeted Lola on the way. With what was a call for half an hour, I had finally gotten something done for Leo.I retired to sleep, only for knocks to come on my door. I opened the door to find Sierra on the other side. The air was awkward in every way. We both sat there in silence, only the slight sounds of our breaths present.“I'm sorry.” She said. I stayed silent as she continued. “For lashing out like that. I'm sorry.”I had my own thoughts in mind, especially with what she had said regarding bringing me as a way to merge the packs. It reminded me of what Damian had said all those months ago.Coming to a conclusion after that was easy. I was the only outlier. Despite being a rogue, I wasn't part of the pack, and I was alien from the animosity that was bred between both packs. It was no surprise why she… or they chose me to go into their pack.My thoughts went back to the time in the living room, when she said that she thought o

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   The death anniversary.

Isabella.I woke up in the morning. A strange sort of quiet filled me with unease. The skies were still as bright as it had been yesterday, and the day before, yet something felt somber about today.I stepped out of the room, careful not to wake Treasure as I did, and headed to the living room.To my surprise, Sierra was there, sitting in a curled position on the couch and sipping from a mug whilst staring at the distance through the large window of the living room. What was odd wasn't only her smaller position, but was her dress. She wore a simple black dress. The skirt of the dress was long and flowing, such that I only saw her feet, the rest of her body covered by the skirt. There were no embellishments or jewelry adorning her frame.Sierra was no stranger to black, yet I had never seen her wear a dress, much less one soft in contrast with her edgy fashion. Most of all was the look in her eyes so somber and melancholic.“On that day, his parents…”It finally clicked.A funeral. No,

LeoShe said nothing else, and I didn't too.Soon the silence became heavy, yet as I glanced, she stayed silent.Waiting.‘What are you afraid of?’ I wasn't sure if it was my thoughts, or him. It could have been both of us, as I couldn't dispute it.I felt comfortable with her. And for the first time, I realized that I didn't mind her knowing my truth.“My father was a rogue wolf, from what is now known as the Red Eclipse pack. He and the Alpha were raised together, practically close as brothers. And then, my father fell in love."I looked up, the scope of tiny specs continuously floating above the abyss."My mother was also a rogue. She never told us any details, but my father used to say she was running away from some bad men when she met him. Their former pack couldn't let him be with her. So, he left.”I swallowed despite the dry feeling in my throat before I continued.“They went through plenty of hardships, but they found the forest, and decided to build something. It wasn't a p

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Epilogue.

Isabella.Treasure played freely amongst other children. The happiness in his eyes made me smile from the window I watched him in.He had taken to them very well, free to reveal his claws at any time, compared to before. After what felt like minutes of watching, I settled back down onto the couch, filled with stacked books I was hoing to remove for the day.I settled into the dark couch where even before I left, it gave comfort. Now I needed that more than ever.It felt like before, yet everything was so different. Now Sierra came occasionally, no longer a resident of the pack yet still belonging to it. She had all the grace of a Luna. It was something I had known for a long time, yet pleased to see nonetheless - nevermind that I still beat her whenever it came to sparring. The biggest difference, however, was me.I had once come here as a guest, hiding myself away from the pack and not wanting to get attached. Now I was here as Leo's mate and the first and new Luna of the rogue pack.

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Let’s go home.

Leo.I looked at Isabella who bore a stricken look. The disbelief in her was the same one I faced. This was the first time I had physically seen the person right in front of me, and as I looked at him, an open scar on his face with his hair in disarray and his eyes crazed, I knew what my answer would be.Turning to Isabella, I conveyed all I needed to, squeezing her hand lightly. She seemed to understand as she nodded. I let her go, walking toward the man who looked more pathetic as his hopeful eyes looked up at me.“I have no need to fight you, Darius, because there's nothing to fight with you about."I saw his expression morph into a frown and anger light up in his eyes in response, but I wasn't done.“Isabella is not a bargaining chip, nor an object to fight over or own. I doubt that you will understand that as you are now, but it's the truth. Scum like you deserve a terrible fate, and though I'm glad that Isabella is by my side now, I wished she didn't have to face someone like yo

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   The challenge.

Isabella.A chill went through me at the news. Looking at the rest of them filled with shock and plenty of questions, there was nothing we could do but wonder. How did they figure it out already? Was this part of their plan from the start? I saw a mix of emotions, none of them positive on everyone's face. It was only a light squeeze that made me turn to him.Leo's startlingly blue eyes couldn't cool down my tension, but it eased it a bit.And for a moment, knowing everything else, I only let one thought reverberate through my mind.Everything will be alright.…..Throughout the next few days, we had mobilized everybody possible. They had announced to the pack and the council of elders everything that had taken place, never leaving a single detail out. The pack was in an uproar, yet in a discussion of our allies, they felt mixed emotions.I looked around at the people around me. People who had once judged me in favor of the person who was now the biggest threat to the pack. When I sp

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Darius and Lucy escaped.

Isabella.Together we left for the Alpha's quarters, only to see my parents.Surprise filled me as they also stood up.“What are you two doing here?” My mother demanded, eyeing both of us.“Please," Isabella pleaded.I stayed as she explained every word that she heard in the forest, and I could see every single one of their faces turned grave.“Isabella, are you sure that that was everything you heard?"I wanted to nod, but held back. There was still one thing I was holding back.“When they spoke, Lucy said that he needed her. Not just because of the rogues, but…”I knew that this was sure to hurt, no matter how much I steeled myself to say it was Leo's light squeeze that made me shut my eyes and finally let go.“Because she knew the truth behind his father's death."A shattering sound.“Melissa!”I whipped my head in surprise as I saw that Darius's mother was suddenly laying on the floor unconscious. The implications of my words were clear to everyone.I could only keep still, watch

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Discovering the truth.

Leo.The moment she had frozen, I already sensed something was wrong. Two people, whom from the look on her face, she recognized were speaking.Closing my eyes, I heightened my senses to hear what they were saying. The first voice was a rough one that undoubtedly belonged to a man whilst the other was a woman.“You said that it'll work, but they haven't made any moves since.” Said the male one.“I mobilized all these rogues and I promised them domination. Do you think that it was easy?”Rogues? The mention of them.“Or better yet, do you think calming them down was? After they'd lost two people to your damned pack, you should be lucky that they haven't turned on you."“Shut the hell up.” The male voice spat out.“You can't get rid of me. Not when I'm the only one who knows the real secret behind your father's death. Not while you need me to appease the rogues while you mess up and no nothing. Not while I look like your dear–” The woman spat out.“–Shut up!” The words were so loud I wa

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Our home.

Isabella. The next morning was far from normal. The only way it could have been described was cold.Neither of my parents were speaking to me, not even as I prepared breakfast earlier in the morning as an appeasement. They avoided my gaze as much as they could, never speaking a word.It hurt, the silent waves of disappointment that ebbed out of them. I braced through it however.Even little Treasure had noticed it.“Where's daddy?” He whispered to me. I noticed that my parents had stopped eating, either hearing or rightly assuming Treasure words.I attempted to smile at him. “He's not here, but we can visit him if you'd like,” I spoke invitingly. Before Treasure could say a word, I heard my mother's voice for the first time that morning.“Treasure dear, why don't you follow us to the pack gardens? There are plenty of beautiful animals there.”I stiffened at her passive aggressive nature. Yet when I looked at Treasure's imploring eyes which silently asked me for what to do, I gave a sl

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Welcome to the pack.

Leo.The pain Isabella bore on her face made me want to hold her, yet those doubts and fears I thought I had rid myself of stopped me short, leaving me helpless and hollow. The night was silent and cold. Peaceful. It was a complete contrast to the violence that had occurred in what should have been less than 20 minutes ago.The pain from the hands that choked me still ached every time I swallowed, yet I kept silent.I almost flinched when I felt the brush of a hand, only to relax as there was only one person who could do that. I let her wrap her hand around mine, sighing at the guilty pleasure of her touch. When I turned to look at her again, all the warmth I gained drained away. Her eyes glistened with tears even as she stared stonily at the distance. She was devastated. From her parents' reaction to the way it all came crashing down.I vaguely realized that she was trying to do that. Comfort me. In turn, I held her closer, hoping that she gained a bit of warmth as well. When Connor

Isabella. My blood ran cold, yet I kept a smile as I turned to Treasure.“Treasure, I think it's time you went to bed," I said.He looked at me for a moment before nodding.“Okay, mommy. Goodnight.” He turned to Leo and oblivious to the tension in the air, told Leo. “Goodnight, daddy.” I heard the slight suck of breath from one of my parents, but I focused solely on my son, nudging him forward.“Go on then," I said, as he yawned before moving up the stairs.I watched him carefully until I was sure that he was out of sight and earshot. The sound of his guest room door shutting made me let out a breath of relief.I shouldn't have let my guard down.It happened instantly. One minute, we were all sitting on the table and in a flash, a person pinned Leo to the wall.“Dad!” I called out, panic filling me as I stood up, speeding across the room.My father was on his full feet, his hands wrapped around Leo's neck. Goddess! He was choking him!Leo remained still. Whether he was still in shock
