Isabella.

By the time Sierra came home and saw Leo and I in the same vicinity, she gave me a look that spoke. Her blue eyes sparked with the words ‘we will talk about this later.’

Aside from her mildly fierce gaze, I couldn't read any other emotion on her face. Was she angry, anxious or worse, blistering mad? I couldn't tell.

I swallowed the slight lump in my throat, turning back to focus on Leo. Somehow in his gaze, the lump relaxed and ease flowed through me.

Sierra cleared her throat, forming a brightened face. “So, what did I miss?”

For a moment, I was tempted to look directly at Leo, but stopped myself. After hashing out the details of our discussion, we promised to keep it a secret from Sierra. Only, I didn't know how much of a secret it would be.

“Nothing much,” I shrugged, looking at the sad empty table. I excused myself from the dining, moving to help Agathe with the dishes.

Despite not knowing my reason for being present she moved along, telling me to do things with a gentl

Sierra and I talked for a while. She told me about her contemplating quitting her job and such. One thing worried me however; she never made any mention of talking to Leo.It hadn't escaped me that he was getting suspicious. Especially considering that time he came to my room. I feared that he was growing closer to the truth, and most of all, she knew it. I found it more and more difficult to deceive him. My avoidance of his questions was only a bare minimum. Because now, Sierra wasn't only my friend, he was also. And most of all, Sierra was his sister. And yet, I didn't want to betray her by bringing it up to him.I said nothing of my thoughts to her, listening dutifully. She barely asked much of mine, and I was relieved. Aside from the usual daily activities, nothing had happened. Aside from my closeness with Leo.I bid her goodnight, heading to my room. I moved to the crib, watching a sleeping Treasure. Now that Agathe was sick, I was the one to take care of him a lot more. I watc

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   The training.

IsabellaThe interior of the building was just as, if not more prettier than the exterior. Pretty probably wasn't the word. Perhaps nice or sophisticated or classic was better to explain it, but at the moment, pretty was all I could have thought of. More specifically, it was all I thought of while I practically rushed into the building, keeping up with Leo's pace while holding a child and a bag. While my strength helped plenty, it didn't make it any less strenuous.I could only whip my head around for a short time to get a vague understanding of the place; glass walls, black chairs with tables a blur before I faced forward, keeping up with Leo as he led me through a path I was unfamiliar with.At some point he stopped before turning to me. Before I could say anything, he moved, lightly brushing my hand.I startled at the feeling, stopping to look at him.“Your bag.” He muttered quietly.Oh, I thought as I nodded, handing it over to him while ensuring to avoid touching his hands again

IsabellaThe carpets on the floor were of a good material, almost rubbery enough to feel sturdy underneath one's feet, yet held a stronghold to the floor, allowing for little to no friction. Most of all, from the initial sight and the feeling, I had known it was able to muffle any impact. I hadn't known how much though. That was, until I had fallen on it several times in several positions, and yet only a dull ache remained, fading in a few minutes. The observation had turned into an impromptu training session. Despite waiting for him to stop me at some point, he continued, and so I did too.“I won't hurt you.” He had said. He was true to his words. He hadn't hurt me, just beating me down to the ground several times was all.Throughout most of the fights, he was defensive but would outta nowhere switch to attack mode, catching me off guard and sending me reeling. He never punched or kicked, only making several moves that sent me to the ground. And somehow, that felt worse. Now, I've ha

LeoIt was pleasing how she listened to my criticisms and corrections, nodding with a thoughtful look in her eyes. She wasn't afraid of corrections. By the time I was done, I said.“Let's call it a day,” I said, referring to the training. Once the training for today had officially ended, she relaxed immensely.I looked at the sink to see the place. It was not so messy, the main standout object being the small kettle she used to warm up the formula. Along with the small powder of the formula spilled on the counter, in her haste.“I uh…'' I smiled as she wandered lightly. There came an apologetic gleek in her eyes, and I sighed inwardly.“I'll deal with it,” I said, waving her off as I did. I pointed to one of the couches in the large space.“Sit here,” I said, moving in her place to the kitchen. It was a new experience as I washed the plates. Despite being in my workplace, everything felt so domestic. My office held its own room with a mini kitchen. Once I was done, I moved towards he

IsabellaWe drove home in silence, reaching the house as the sun had risen in its early morning glow. As I stepped out, to my surprise, he didn't. I turned back to him.“You aren't coming inside?” I asked. He shook his head. “I have some important business to do.”His words made sense, yet why did I feel like he was lying?Nevertheless, I nodded, heading inside. My coat and snow covered shoes were placed at the entrance. The place was still silent as I stepped in, my footsteps the sole sound. I placed Treasure carefully on the couch, spreading the wrapped blanket so as to ensure the cool air entered. The first place I thought of was to go to the kitchen. Usually, early in the mornings, Agathe sometimes came. If she was present, I was going to drag her out to recuperate in her home.To my relief, she wasn't present, and the place was still in the same condition as I had left it last night - clean and in order.I was sure Sierra was still inside, and I was sure she was going to wake up

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   The battle.

Isabella.Leo and I had gained a routine. Early in the morning, we left the house to train in his company's gym. After a few hours of training, we went to the café.Sometimes we spoke about little things, such as books and even work. Sometimes, the entire time spent in the cafe was spent in silence, with both of us drinking our respective drinks, letting the low jazz music that played in the cafe and the sight of the snow wash over us. It was comfortable either way. After he drove me home, I prepared to go to school. I left with Treasure in hand, came back cooked in place of Agathe, had dinner and right after, practically collapsed in bed.And then early the next morning, the cycle was repeated.Only during the past few days, I learned new things, mostly about the man. First was that he was every bit as strict as he looked. The second was his patience. And the third? That I could be a sore loser at times.I always found myself to be graceful, even after losing in my pack, and yet, I a

Isabella. It came by instinct, without much thought. The second the claws were about to strike, I couldn't have thought of anything else.In a few seconds, many things had happened. People gathered round, holding the man from attacking further. There were struggles and growls coming from him. The snow was flopping around as his legs scrambled to escape. There were several voices beside me and behind me, and I could feel some pressure on my shoulders. The chill of the snow against my legs and knees did nothing to numb the pain that slowly grew. I looked down, at my arms, my hand holding the wrist of the other tightly. Blood stained the gray fabric of my pants where both arms rested. Even with all the blood, all the large marks opening flesh were present. It all happened on instinct. He was ready to strike my face. And all I could think of was to defend. And then I lifted my arm up, and then…As he writhed, snow scattered, covering the tiny specs of blood and chunk of flesh he had taken

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   A new season.

IsabellaChristmas was nearing. Although I had doubts that the tradition was celebrated within the rogue pack, those doubts were gone with the presence of deeds, green and gold decorations splayed all over the pack house. Sierra even stated that on the fortnight, a tree was going to be placed in the center of the pack house. It was the reds and green decorations I looked at through the porch of the house, admiring how the snow that had come, once a hindrance, became a thing of joy. Children from my view, ran around with each other. I was sure if I was to take a short walk, the same could be said.I rested my arms off the porch, hissing from the twinge of pain as my right arm stretched. On instinct, I looked down at the wound.I once believed that the skin would fully heal on its own. However, as the pack doctor came in, my hopes went to dust. Despite only removing small bits of flesh, the skin wasn't going to regenerate back to its former glory. The scars were unavoidable. The fair u

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Epilogue.

Isabella.Treasure played freely amongst other children. The happiness in his eyes made me smile from the window I watched him in.He had taken to them very well, free to reveal his claws at any time, compared to before. After what felt like minutes of watching, I settled back down onto the couch, filled with stacked books I was hoing to remove for the day.I settled into the dark couch where even before I left, it gave comfort. Now I needed that more than ever.It felt like before, yet everything was so different. Now Sierra came occasionally, no longer a resident of the pack yet still belonging to it. She had all the grace of a Luna. It was something I had known for a long time, yet pleased to see nonetheless - nevermind that I still beat her whenever it came to sparring. The biggest difference, however, was me.I had once come here as a guest, hiding myself away from the pack and not wanting to get attached. Now I was here as Leo's mate and the first and new Luna of the rogue pack.

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Let’s go home.

Leo.I looked at Isabella who bore a stricken look. The disbelief in her was the same one I faced. This was the first time I had physically seen the person right in front of me, and as I looked at him, an open scar on his face with his hair in disarray and his eyes crazed, I knew what my answer would be.Turning to Isabella, I conveyed all I needed to, squeezing her hand lightly. She seemed to understand as she nodded. I let her go, walking toward the man who looked more pathetic as his hopeful eyes looked up at me.“I have no need to fight you, Darius, because there's nothing to fight with you about."I saw his expression morph into a frown and anger light up in his eyes in response, but I wasn't done.“Isabella is not a bargaining chip, nor an object to fight over or own. I doubt that you will understand that as you are now, but it's the truth. Scum like you deserve a terrible fate, and though I'm glad that Isabella is by my side now, I wished she didn't have to face someone like yo

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   The challenge.

Isabella.A chill went through me at the news. Looking at the rest of them filled with shock and plenty of questions, there was nothing we could do but wonder. How did they figure it out already? Was this part of their plan from the start? I saw a mix of emotions, none of them positive on everyone's face. It was only a light squeeze that made me turn to him.Leo's startlingly blue eyes couldn't cool down my tension, but it eased it a bit.And for a moment, knowing everything else, I only let one thought reverberate through my mind.Everything will be alright.…..Throughout the next few days, we had mobilized everybody possible. They had announced to the pack and the council of elders everything that had taken place, never leaving a single detail out. The pack was in an uproar, yet in a discussion of our allies, they felt mixed emotions.I looked around at the people around me. People who had once judged me in favor of the person who was now the biggest threat to the pack. When I sp

Isabella.Together we left for the Alpha's quarters, only to see my parents.Surprise filled me as they also stood up.“What are you two doing here?” My mother demanded, eyeing both of us.“Please," Isabella pleaded.I stayed as she explained every word that she heard in the forest, and I could see every single one of their faces turned grave.“Isabella, are you sure that that was everything you heard?"I wanted to nod, but held back. There was still one thing I was holding back.“When they spoke, Lucy said that he needed her. Not just because of the rogues, but…”I knew that this was sure to hurt, no matter how much I steeled myself to say it was Leo's light squeeze that made me shut my eyes and finally let go.“Because she knew the truth behind his father's death."A shattering sound.“Melissa!”I whipped my head in surprise as I saw that Darius's mother was suddenly laying on the floor unconscious. The implications of my words were clear to everyone.I could only keep still, watch

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Discovering the truth.

Leo.The moment she had frozen, I already sensed something was wrong. Two people, whom from the look on her face, she recognized were speaking.Closing my eyes, I heightened my senses to hear what they were saying. The first voice was a rough one that undoubtedly belonged to a man whilst the other was a woman.“You said that it'll work, but they haven't made any moves since.” Said the male one.“I mobilized all these rogues and I promised them domination. Do you think that it was easy?”Rogues? The mention of them.“Or better yet, do you think calming them down was? After they'd lost two people to your damned pack, you should be lucky that they haven't turned on you."“Shut the hell up.” The male voice spat out.“You can't get rid of me. Not when I'm the only one who knows the real secret behind your father's death. Not while you need me to appease the rogues while you mess up and no nothing. Not while I look like your dear–” The woman spat out.“–Shut up!” The words were so loud I wa

Isabella. The next morning was far from normal. The only way it could have been described was cold.Neither of my parents were speaking to me, not even as I prepared breakfast earlier in the morning as an appeasement. They avoided my gaze as much as they could, never speaking a word.It hurt, the silent waves of disappointment that ebbed out of them. I braced through it however.Even little Treasure had noticed it.“Where's daddy?” He whispered to me. I noticed that my parents had stopped eating, either hearing or rightly assuming Treasure words.I attempted to smile at him. “He's not here, but we can visit him if you'd like,” I spoke invitingly. Before Treasure could say a word, I heard my mother's voice for the first time that morning.“Treasure dear, why don't you follow us to the pack gardens? There are plenty of beautiful animals there.”I stiffened at her passive aggressive nature. Yet when I looked at Treasure's imploring eyes which silently asked me for what to do, I gave a sl

  • Mated to the Rogue Alpha   Welcome to the pack.

Leo.The pain Isabella bore on her face made me want to hold her, yet those doubts and fears I thought I had rid myself of stopped me short, leaving me helpless and hollow. The night was silent and cold. Peaceful. It was a complete contrast to the violence that had occurred in what should have been less than 20 minutes ago.The pain from the hands that choked me still ached every time I swallowed, yet I kept silent.I almost flinched when I felt the brush of a hand, only to relax as there was only one person who could do that. I let her wrap her hand around mine, sighing at the guilty pleasure of her touch. When I turned to look at her again, all the warmth I gained drained away. Her eyes glistened with tears even as she stared stonily at the distance. She was devastated. From her parents' reaction to the way it all came crashing down.I vaguely realized that she was trying to do that. Comfort me. In turn, I held her closer, hoping that she gained a bit of warmth as well. When Connor

Goodnight.” He turned to Leo and oblivious to the tension in the air, told Leo. “Goodnight, daddy.” I heard the slight suck of breath from one of my parents, but I focused solely on my son, nudging him forward.“Go on then," I said, as he yawned before moving up the stairs.I watched him carefully until I was sure that he was out of sight and earshot. The sound of his guest room door shutting made me let out a breath of relief.I shouldn't have let my guard down.It happened instantly. One minute, we were all sitting on the table and in a flash, a person pinned Leo to the wall.“Dad!” I called out, panic filling me as I stood up, speeding across the room.My father was on his full feet, his hands wrapped around Leo's neck. Goddess! He was choking him!Leo remained still. Whether he was still in shock
