Kai's POV ️

She stood there, not willing to leave. I walked to the door and contemplated opening it to her for a few seconds. She heard my footsteps as I walked close to the door and stopped banging on the door but when she did not hear the bolt of the door being opened, she hit the door again.

"Open this door, Kai!"

She yelled. She was going to make a scene.

The guards might soon worry that she was making so much trouble and would call Abramo to come and take her back to her Chambers since he alone would be able to get her away.

But as I listened to her by the door, I wanted to hear her out. There was no Abramo trying to usher her away and there were no guards trying to make sure she retired to her Chambers and so I reached one hand to the door and opened it. She stumbled in and I caught her.

She had been leaning on the door. When I had made her stand to her feet again, she was panting. She stood there looking at me and he did not say a word. I still had my boots on and my sword was

"Tell me then, what had motivated you to leave in the first place? Now that you have mentioned it, I am curious. I had not been in the mood to have any of this discussion–""See? You are never in the mood to talk with me and listen to my problems!"She yelled... she had cut me short and I had not finished my statement."Well, I have said that I will listen to you now, Katara. Say what it is you desire to say and I shall listen to you."I said... she stood up and walked up to me where I was sitting. She stood in front of me again. To command my full attention perhaps. She did not look vulnerable anymore. Her eyes no longer glistened with unshed tears and she was no longer biting her lips. Her voice did not tremble and her lips did not quiver as she spoke"For long, you have made it a point to always put me off... you have prized other things above me and I have never challengeed you."I was staring at her and her slow and measured words only made my need for her intensify. "Katara, you do not realize that keeping you here is keeping you safe, do you. You do not want to take my words and abide by it?" I asked. She was angry again. "Well I will not take your words when they do not have any good to me!" She said. Again, she was being daring. "You will rather be out there in the wilds risking your life? Have you forgotten so soon what could have been done to you by those monsters? You think they were having a nice little joke with you and would never hurt you? You make jokes, sweetie." She was not impressed by my words and she did not pretend she was. "I am not scared if you are trying to make me. Why do you say these things to me when you know I would never leave in the first place if I did not feel neglected?" Her eyes had begun to well up again and I was sure I did not want to see her that way again. I did not want to see her cry. She sniffed again and turned her back to me. She was not going to stay... She walked back to me and held my head down to hers. I was soon kissing her again and soon her hand moved down to cup the bulge of my manhood. A sigh escaped her lips and she murmured my name...I was ready to pick her up and take her to the bed when she broke away from the embrace a second time and let go my member that she had had in her hand...I was hot and throbbing and straining to be free and have her... I would have taken her there on the floor if she had given me as much as another encouragement."I'll be leaving now, Kai... perhaps, you should come with me to the chambers."She offered. She was watching me in her usual sexy way and expected me to go with her. I was not going to leave with her. She had come to and she was going to be with me."Stay with me here Katara." I said. She shook her head."Come with me if only for tonight. I want you just as much as you want me."She said... my manhood grew in size as my desire heightened by her mere words. Katara's POV When I woke up the next morning, Kai was not by my side. I reached my hands out to feel the side of the vast bed that he had been lying and there, it was cold. An indication that he had left way earlier than I thought. I tried not to get very angry at the thoughts of him leaving me in a room that was not ours. He was not anywhere around and I was angry. The light from the outsides of the chambers spilled into the room from the windows...The morning sun and the air that swept through the room made me yearn Kai's company but I was not about to have it. He had left me again once again proving that he valued all the affairs and duties of his position over me. It was unnerving. I had expected to wake up in his hands once after a very long time but that had not happened. As I turned around, there was my dress, neatly folded and placed somewhere far off. It was on the chair. Had he folded my dress with his own hands? It was a bit difficult to believe. He had done that probab

  • Mated to the Enemy Alpha   102 - To Search For the Antidote

Perhaps, I had walked past the shelf that held the antidote? I started to walk back again scrutinizing each shelf and taking more time to look at the labels before proceeding to the next shelf...By the time I reached the last shelf which I was sure I had checked before, there was a bottle sitting alone on one side of the shelf and it was written there, "Insect sting". I reached out and pulled out the bottle from the shelf and I saw the drawings on it then. There were many different insects drawn on it. My eyes roved through the bottle and I saw there, the same insect that Sterling had described. I could not take the bottle out of the room and so I was not going to take the bottle out of the room. I tried to open the bottle and see the content if it was liquid or solid. The lid refused to come open and I tried very hard to open the lid.Perhaps, it had been a very long time since the bottle was opened and there was no doubt, it was one of those antique things in the castle. "Well, just turn the bottle and the content will come out. Don't look inside, it will always look empty as long as you are looking inside." She said. She knew what I did not know. I shook my head in amazement as I turned the bottle over the container I was holding and the content of the bottle came out. It filled the bottle and when it was going to get full, I stopped turning and placed the bottle back in its place. I now had the cure to the bite that had almost claimed the life of Sterling's child. As I left the room and headed back to the chambers where Sterling and Morticia where waiting with the baby, I wondered if her husband, Beta Abramo had not known of the illness and the cure. Perhaps, he should have asked the Alpha to get it for him and make his child well again. Well, the Alpha and I just returned. I sighed again. "I was really scared you were going to make a mistake back there at the room, my Lady. I am glad we are now returning without trouble and any much difficulty."

I extricated the baby from Sterling and let him lie on the bed, he was so tender and innocent and undeserving of death and I was suddenly strengthened. I had the sudden urge to see that he was completely fine and so I picked the antidote and emptied it in his mouth. He did not move. He continued to lie there, motionless. I turned to look at everyone who was in the room with me.Sterling was still crying but this time, she was not screaming and it was no longer Morticia that was holding her but her husband, Abramo. She was resting her head on Abramo and he was stroking her head. The sobs quietened as we all anticipated at least a movement from the baby who was now the focus in the room. After waiting for so long and the baby did not respond to the antidote, Sterling began to wail again and this time, Abramo had an even harder time trying to help her stop. She was enraged with the grief and severally, she made to snatch the baby off the bed and cling to it but she was restrained by h

There was a great deal of relief in the room as Sterling carried her baby. The other two maids went out with her as she bowed and left after thanking Katara and I profusely.I was happy for her too. Abramo was now standing with Katara and I. When I had first returned, he had told me of the condition of the child and of how much the child needed an antidote. The thing was, only the Luna of each pack could enter into the room with the antidotes and only she could administer it... no other person had the right to touch or administer the drugs so I had come back with him so we could get Katara to go and get an antidote but luckily for us, she had already done that...Maybe we would have been a bit late and would have lost the child as Abramo has feared but the child had survived."Thank you so much, my Luna." He said again and bowed deeply. Katara nodded...I was surprised when few minutes ago, she had been very emotional. I was not counting on ever seeing her so emotional but she had

[Eight months later]Kai’s POV Katara had been with her ladies when she had been suddenly rushed out. I was right in the hallway, coming to the chambers to be with her when the ladies rushed her out. She was in labor and was going to give birth soon. I wanted to carry her off to wherever she was to be taken to but the ladies will not let me. "Let me carry her so it will be easier for you. Surely, you can not hold her like this and walk this slowly when she is in obvious pains." I tried to explain to the ladies but they will not hear of it. Katara was wailing as she took one laborious step after the other. I was not going to watch them continue in such slow progression so I brushed past them and whisked Katara off her feet. The ladies gasped in surprise but did not say anything when I began to walk away to the direction I suspected they were headed. It was to the midwife's place… Katara was still tearing at her clothes and thumping her fists on my chest when I arrived the midwife's

"It is perhaps by chance that I know this story myself. Now to the story, the men he had taken to form a pack had turned against him and had also taken with them the chest and had abused the magical items in it just as the son had done…They, captured many small packs and did many evil and perverted justice and looted packs and took the wives of others until the Moon Goddess had, had enough and the chest along with the items had disappeared on its own.”The men had thought that chest was stolen while they had slept, but when they could not find it, they had accused one another of the theft of the chest and they had fought and killed each other. For years, the chest appeared in many different places and so many packs had tried to open it to see its content all to no avail and then they had tried to keep it but it had kept on disappearing-“"Does that explain why we had seen it in a dilapidated house in the former Artic pack?”Kai asked. Abramo's eyes flung wide open in surprise. "Is th

The man explained. Kai had been listening attentively as well as all those who had been in the courts. I had been paying rapt attention too. At once, Abramo left the courts and went out to mobilize the men to secure the walls and the gates against any more miscreants. I could hear him shouting orders to the men as they ran to and fro. "The items are not yours to begin with. It is a bit difficult for me to understand how you have come to demand things that are not yours while trying to impress on us that you will take our fight and fight?' Kai said. He was angry as he spoke and the men did not speak for a long time. They were silent for a long while. "I will way you to leave Valmore now and we shall handle whatever trouble comes with the items we possess. It is ours to worry about not yours." Kai said. The men exchanged puzzled glances but did not make any attempt to leave. Kai stood there, brimming with anger as he watched them. "We are afraid you might be forced to submit the b

He said as he stooped and planted a kiss on my forehead. I nodded. I was not sure I wanted to remain indoors everytime if that was what pregnancy entailed. I was beginning to feel lazy. As Kai walked to the door, there was a sudden desperate knock on the door. He reached the door and opened it. The guard who was standing there was holding his sword by the hilt, he was breathing with so much gust and Kai walked with him down the hall, slamming the door behind him shut. I was worried as I leapt off the bed and went to the window to see what was really going on down there. There was an entourage and there were a few men on horseback. They were all waiting down the Castle floors, waiting to see the Alpha no doubt… I stood by the window for long, to see what was going to happen then. They did not look like they had come for peace. They looked like that were ready for war. Trouble. They did nothing to hide their intention. As far as I knew, Valmore was not in any trouble with any pack.

When I woke up, Kai was by the side of the bed. He had picked a chair and was sitting by the bed, watching me. I had no idea how long he had been standing there and as I opened my eyes to take in the environment, the bright afternoon light flooding the room, I was disoriented. "Relax, beauty. Hope you had a peaceful rest?" He asked as my eyes rested on him. I tried to nod but felt a sudden discomfort around my neck and so I ditched the idea. "How long have you been sitting there?" I asked instead. He smiled. "For a long time, beauty. A really long time." He said. He did not have the book in his hand again and he did not seem to be unkempt. He had even shaved! When had he done that? "You had the stubble last night and I've not seen you all morning Until now. When did you get a good bath?" I asked him instead. "I shaved last night. And, I was in here the moment you fell asleep to bathe and come watch over you while you slumber peacefully," He said. He was still smiling. I sighe

One thing I knew was that the Artic pack where not known for any form of magic even though it had grown in its time to become a terror to many other packs, it still did not possess magic and that was what I was sure of. Katara stirred on the bed while I was lost in thoughts and I turned to look at her. She opened her eyes drowsily. "Why are you not in bed yet, my love? You should come to bed now and have some rest," She said. She seemed to be having a hard time keeping her eyes open and I wanted her to go back to sleep "You can go back to sleep… I will join you soon," I said. She nodded and then stopped, her eyes flew open, wider. "Why are you still engrossed with that? You should leave that and have some rest." She insisted. I shook my head. She was being adamant. "Go to sleep my love. I will join you soon. I am only worried about a few things that I have found out in this book, " "Sitting up all night long will not solve the puzzle. I think so. perhaps, tomorrow you can cont

I continued with the book, the message became even more complex as I continued but I was able to grasp the messages and it included even the magical ability to grow a garden and chose the magical creatures to stay in it and tend it. There was so much knowledge in the book that I began to worry that the information was too much. "I am satisfied with the knowledge of the wand, i find it difficult to understand everything else you see in the book.”Katara said as she sashayed to the bathroom. "I will go have a bath now. Do not be too engrossed in that, hence you forget to do other things… one of which is getting up to come and take a bath.”She said as she disappeared from sight. I straightened up and took the book with me to the nearest table. I was still sitting there, totally focused on the book when she appeared again from the bathroom. She was drippi

It was a bit baffling that she was interested In magic suddenly and as we mounted the horse, I decided to ask her. She was still clutching the book and I had slipped the wand into the small bag I was carrying lest it comes alive and enchant the things around me that did not need to be enchanted."Why are you suddenly so concerned and Interested in magic?"I asked her. I hoped she heard since the horse was in motion and was whipping past trees and the wind will not let my words reach her as well as it should have. She heard me anyway. She had twisted her neck awkwardly to look back at me and speak as loud as she could. I kicked the horse and it slowed down. We are not being pursued. It was enough reason to drive calmly back to Valmore. The wind rushing past our ears were now calm and i could make out the words she spoke."I feel a certain sense of rightness with these... I shook my head as I turned to her."Quit trying, Lady. We have to leave now."I said. Katara nudged me."Stretch the wand towards the door and it will come off." She said. She had sheathed her sword and one of her hands was now resting on the hilt of the sword. She was eager to leave. I turned away from Chloe and held the wand against the door. The door did not come open. Chloe chuckled behind us and the old lady stirred again. She was doing a good job of detaining us. She was almost accomplishing her goal which was to keep us until the old lady regained consciousness."Why is the wand not opening the door? Are you holding it wrongly?"Katara asked in a whisper. Of course Chloe and her mother did not know that the wand had only worked because I had struck it the right way without meaning to. Katara knew
