Katara's POV

When I woke up the next morning, I felt like the most beautiful woman the world had ever seen because beside me was Kai and when I lifted my eyes to him, he was wide awake. He had not been sleeping... he had been watching me sleep.

"Good morning, beautiful–"

He said. It was all like a dream... I had woken up with him by my side and he was calling me beautiful... I did not recall he last time he had said that to me.

"Good morning my Lord." I said with mock bashfulness.

He laughed and held me... his hand rested on my breasts and his manhood pressed against my bottom... he was aroused.

He had the morning erection and being in bed with him was a cause for my own turn on... he slipped into me easily as I parted my legs to let him have access. I was having the best morning of my life, yet.

By the time Kai left me, I was a happy and satisfied woman who had gotten what she wanted and was satisfied for having it. I was happy.

All the tension and anger and fury that had amassed

Katara's POV He was not making empty threats and luckily for Alpha Alexei, he saw the seriousness in his eyes. His anger quelled... he began to speak in a more civil manner. "I want the ring back. The garden is in shambles. Some of the creatures escaped the garden and there was no way I could get them back to the garden without the ring. I need the ring back." He said. Kai did not say anything. He was breathing heavily the way he did sometimes when he was angry or battle ready. "I have an idea you are not the best Alpha there is." Kai said suddenly as his expression became relaxed. "There is not one who is the best Alpha. Not even you." Alpha Alexei replied while holding Kai's gaze. Kai's gaze did not waver, he continued to speak without flinching or batting an eyelid. "Well, none is. But you are far from the few who are regarded as good. Do I lie about this? I guess not. I do not want to pay evil for evil and it is for that reason that I will pardon you over how you treated my L

Kai's POV When the me men had left and I no longer had the ring in my possession, I was relieved... Abramo left and went to see his wife and his child and it was just I and Katara alone in the courts. "There is a place I would like us to go sit and have some peace. You know it." I whispered to her... she was suddenly eager to go to the place even if she did not remember what place I was talking about. "I would want to be there... when do we leave?" She asked enthusiastically. She was indeed ready to be there. "Well, we will see how that goes in the next few hours before the afternoon sun gets really hot." I promised her... she nodded. "Do let me know when we shall leave ahead of time. Will I have to leave with my maids?" She asked... I shook my head. "It is going to be just the two of us. We will have some good time alone and then only come back when we are sated and feel good enough to return. *** By the time the sun was high in the sky, I was ready to leave with Katara..th

Katara's POV He was not going to wait there for long too and like he said, I wanted to tour the place again after so long. I did not really have anything to make me love the place or remember it for good. Each time I remember the Artic pack and how I had lived, tortured and rejected, I feel only relief that I was eventually rescued and I could now have a life better than what I could have ever had at the Artic pack.We took long walks into the bushes and then came back to where we had tied our horses. We went into the city. All old houses, burnt up and a few were still standing. I walked around my former abode with Kai, the one who had ended the pack that rejected me. My father was cruel. He oppressed smaller packs and took what belonged to them ruthlessly. There was not one time that I was happy with that. I was never happy over a lot of things which my father, the Alpha of The Artic pack, Alpha Alaric did. I hoped and wished for the day I would be free from the pack since I wa

  • Mated to the Enemy Alpha   111 - To Unlock the Chest

We walked inside gallantly. Just the two of us, with our horse outside, waiting for our return. We looked around but there was no one around. There were nests and small anthills everywhere. A lot of insects and reptiles had taken over all the rotting houses. We walked towards the opening that I supposed was an exit door or had once been an exit door and there was a chest there. It did not look like it had been touched by any fire and it was a pure silver chest. We stood before it."This does not look like it had been here during the fire. It looks way too healthy and it has not much dirt on it and it definitely does not look like it won't be having any treasure inside."I said. Kai raised one brow at me. He was amused."How do you tell what a chest owns by looking at the chest and not opening it?"He asked. I shrugged. I knew I was not wrong. I was convinced the chest had a good amount of valuables inside it. We were not going to have to carry the chest, I hoped."What if this chest

"I figured we might still need the padlock to bind the box if we ever have to cart it away and it seemed to me that the sword might ruin it so, I was going to pull it.""That does not sound cool in any way. Get your sword out and take care of that."I insisted. He stepped back and pulled out his sword. I watched him as he struck the padlock once. We both looked at it. It had not broken."That was a huge blow. Why did it not give, anyway?"I asked. The padlock looked like it had not been struck at all and that was a cause for worry."I told you this is not some ordinary box, did I not? It appears to me as a chest that is going to be both dangerous and benefitting and I suppose it can't be that easy to pry such box open. Right?"I asked him. Of course he knew I was right but again, he did not reply me. I stood there and he also stood watching the chest. Soon, there was another bout of wings flapping and we both turned to look at the direction where the flapping had been coming from. It

  • Mated to the Enemy Alpha   113 - To Land in a Magical Realm

Alpha Kai's POV Katara looked very scared and I did not like it. She had not been very scared when we were outside and then suddenly we had entered the buildings and she looked like she would pass out. I was going to oblige her and leave. Since it bothered her so much."Let us leave." I said. She nodded, her swords still in her hand... as we turned to leave, the chest came open on its own. I did not remember the padlock getting broken or the chest being broken but then it was there, open and staring at us. I could not see its content. It seemed to be covered in fog and that made the content invisible. Katara looked at the chest."It is open." She said at last. The whole place was so silent that her voice reverberated through the bushes and the decrepit houses. I wondered how that was even possible."Let us see what is in the chest, shall we?" I said. She sheathed her sword as I did mine and squatted next to me. I dipped my hand in the chest and the first thing my hand touched, I pul

"What are we going to do there, by the way?" I heard Katara ask again."To go see if it is inhabited and if we can have a seat and look through the book we have. Maybe it will see us to our destination."I told her. She nodded. It made sense to her.We began to head to the house. It was tall and had a staircase in front of it. When we reached the house, we were surprised at what we saw."The windows are all bad and the door is slightly ajar." Katara said. True. I had seen it too but I had not said anything first."Yes. I guess it is not inhabited then. It is probably another lone house in a lone place.""That could be housing a whole lot of magical creatures and wild beast.""Wild beasts do not live in houses, snap out of it.""What if they do in this instance?""We will have to find out then... and by the way, there are only dry bushes, I doubt there are any wild beasts around since we never stumbled on any. We did not know how long we had been there when a hand pulled us inside. We both found ourselves in the room with lights. The book was still with Katara and she still had one hand on the hilt of her sword. I was with the wand too and I had no idea what I was supposed to do with it. We were both seated opposite each other and she was as surprised as I was. The book was almost wet and she still clung to it. There was no one in the room. I was relieved the lights had come on in the room. Who were the people who had made the loud noise and where was the female who had been speaking to us from inside... Katara seemed to be as lost as I was and she kept looking everywhere."What in the hell is going on? I just got back from one magic garden and now this."She lamented. She was still searching the place with her eyes and she occasionally bit her lower lip until it was red and swollen from the biting."We did not bargain for this. • Mated to the Enemy Alpha   127 - Epilogue

[Eight months later]Kai’s POV Katara had been with her ladies when she had been suddenly rushed out. I was right in the hallway, coming to the chambers to be with her when the ladies rushed her out. She was in labor and was going to give birth soon. I wanted to carry her off to wherever she was to be taken to but the ladies will not let me. "Let me carry her so it will be easier for you. Surely, you can not hold her like this and walk this slowly when she is in obvious pains." I tried to explain to the ladies but they will not hear of it. Katara was wailing as she took one laborious step after the other. I was not going to watch them continue in such slow progression so I brushed past them and whisked Katara off her feet. The ladies gasped in surprise but did not say anything when I began to walk away to the direction I suspected they were headed. It was to the midwife's place… Katara was still tearing at her clothes and thumping her fists on my chest when I arrived the midwife's

"It is perhaps by chance that I know this story myself. Now to the story, the men he had taken to form a pack had turned against him and had also taken with them the chest and had abused the magical items in it just as the son had done…They, captured many small packs and did many evil and perverted justice and looted packs and took the wives of others until the Moon Goddess had, had enough and the chest along with the items had disappeared on its own.”The men had thought that chest was stolen while they had slept, but when they could not find it, they had accused one another of the theft of the chest and they had fought and killed each other. For years, the chest appeared in many different places and so many packs had tried to open it to see its content all to no avail and then they had tried to keep it but it had kept on disappearing-“"Does that explain why we had seen it in a dilapidated house in the former Artic pack?”Kai asked. Abramo's eyes flung wide open in surprise. "Is th

The man explained. Kai had been listening attentively as well as all those who had been in the courts. I had been paying rapt attention too. At once, Abramo left the courts and went out to mobilize the men to secure the walls and the gates against any more miscreants. I could hear him shouting orders to the men as they ran to and fro. "The items are not yours to begin with. It is a bit difficult for me to understand how you have come to demand things that are not yours while trying to impress on us that you will take our fight and fight?' Kai said. He was angry as he spoke and the men did not speak for a long time. They were silent for a long while. "I will way you to leave Valmore now and we shall handle whatever trouble comes with the items we possess. It is ours to worry about not yours." Kai said. The men exchanged puzzled glances but did not make any attempt to leave. Kai stood there, brimming with anger as he watched them. "We are afraid you might be forced to submit the b

He said as he stooped and planted a kiss on my forehead. I nodded. I was not sure I wanted to remain indoors everytime if that was what pregnancy entailed. I was beginning to feel lazy. As Kai walked to the door, there was a sudden desperate knock on the door. He reached the door and opened it. The guard who was standing there was holding his sword by the hilt, he was breathing with so much gust and Kai walked with him down the hall, slamming the door behind him shut. I was worried as I leapt off the bed and went to the window to see what was really going on down there. There was an entourage and there were a few men on horseback. They were all waiting down the Castle floors, waiting to see the Alpha no doubt… I stood by the window for long, to see what was going to happen then. They did not look like they had come for peace. They looked like that were ready for war. Trouble. They did nothing to hide their intention. As far as I knew, Valmore was not in any trouble with any pack.

When I woke up, Kai was by the side of the bed. He had picked a chair and was sitting by the bed, watching me. I had no idea how long he had been standing there and as I opened my eyes to take in the environment, the bright afternoon light flooding the room, I was disoriented. "Relax, beauty. Hope you had a peaceful rest?" He asked as my eyes rested on him. I tried to nod but felt a sudden discomfort around my neck and so I ditched the idea. "How long have you been sitting there?" I asked instead. He smiled. "For a long time, beauty. A really long time." He said. He did not have the book in his hand again and he did not seem to be unkempt. He had even shaved! When had he done that? "You had the stubble last night and I've not seen you all morning Until now. When did you get a good bath?" I asked him instead. "I shaved last night. And, I was in here the moment you fell asleep to bathe and come watch over you while you slumber peacefully," He said. He was still smiling. I sighe

One thing I knew was that the Artic pack where not known for any form of magic even though it had grown in its time to become a terror to many other packs, it still did not possess magic and that was what I was sure of. Katara stirred on the bed while I was lost in thoughts and I turned to look at her. She opened her eyes drowsily. "Why are you not in bed yet, my love? You should come to bed now and have some rest," She said. She seemed to be having a hard time keeping her eyes open and I wanted her to go back to sleep "You can go back to sleep… I will join you soon," I said. She nodded and then stopped, her eyes flew open, wider. "Why are you still engrossed with that? You should leave that and have some rest." She insisted. I shook my head. She was being adamant. "Go to sleep my love. I will join you soon. I am only worried about a few things that I have found out in this book, " "Sitting up all night long will not solve the puzzle. I think so. perhaps, tomorrow you can cont

I continued with the book, the message became even more complex as I continued but I was able to grasp the messages and it included even the magical ability to grow a garden and chose the magical creatures to stay in it and tend it. There was so much knowledge in the book that I began to worry that the information was too much. "I am satisfied with the knowledge of the wand, i find it difficult to understand everything else you see in the book.”Katara said as she sashayed to the bathroom. "I will go have a bath now. Do not be too engrossed in that, hence you forget to do other things… one of which is getting up to come and take a bath.”She said as she disappeared from sight. I straightened up and took the book with me to the nearest table. I was still sitting there, totally focused on the book when she appeared again from the bathroom. She was drippi

It was a bit baffling that she was interested In magic suddenly and as we mounted the horse, I decided to ask her. She was still clutching the book and I had slipped the wand into the small bag I was carrying lest it comes alive and enchant the things around me that did not need to be enchanted."Why are you suddenly so concerned and Interested in magic?"I asked her. I hoped she heard since the horse was in motion and was whipping past trees and the wind will not let my words reach her as well as it should have. She heard me anyway. She had twisted her neck awkwardly to look back at me and speak as loud as she could. I kicked the horse and it slowed down. We are not being pursued. It was enough reason to drive calmly back to Valmore. The wind rushing past our ears were now calm and i could make out the words she spoke."I feel a certain sense of rightness with these... She had sheathed her sword and one of her hands was now resting on the hilt of the sword. She was eager to leave. I turned away from Chloe and held the wand against the door. The door did not come open. Chloe chuckled behind us and the old lady stirred again. She was doing a good job of detaining us. She was almost accomplishing her goal which was to keep us until the old lady regained consciousness."Why is the wand not opening the door? Are you holding it wrongly?"Katara asked in a whisper. Of course Chloe and her mother did not know that the wand had only worked because I had struck it the right way without meaning to. Katara knew
