Natasha's POV
The feeling of a hot breath touched the skin in my neck woke me up from my sleep. I opened my eyes and I flinched when I saw Valerian leaning on me with his eyes staring deep into my soul.
"W-what are you doing?" I stuttered as I moved away from him.
I don't want to be scared of him or even show signs of weakness but the way he's staring at me makes my knees wobble. He makes me nervous and I don't know if it's because of his aura or the way he looks at me or both. He's just really intimidating.
I just woke up and yet he managed to make my heartbeat erratic.
Everything about him screams danger in an unexplainable way.
"Are you hungry?" he asked as he stood up straight and put his hand inside his pocket.
I studied him and noticed that he was wearing formal office attire except his coat.
I shook my head.
I don't know what time is it already but I can see the rays of the sun shining through the window. And surprisingly, I'm not hungry. I don't feel any hunger or thirst-- the exact opposite of what I felt earlier at dawn.
When Valerian took me inside his mansion and told me that I couldn't leave, I protested at first because I don't want to be here but I eventually just go with the flow when I realized something; I can't go home because I don't have his head so I came to terms with living in his mansion and plotting his death until I successfully execute it.
I think I should be even truly thankful that he made it easier for me to plot.
His mansion is hella huge with a lot of things-- vintage things that look like it's been here centuries ago. And since he made me live here without asking for my consent, I get to choose what room to occupy and mind you, I chose a really pretty and big one. That's the least he can do to me after poisoning me with his blood and lying to me saying he's my mate.
He told me that he doesn't live here but his house looks so maintained. It's so clean and neat and looks like it's been really taken care of. The mansion has a unique style of old-fashioned style-like which makes it so elegant and beautiful. And I think the idea of Valerian Fenrir living in a home like this added to his devilish aura.
"Where are you going?" I asked when he turned his back at me and walked towards the door.
Valerian didn't answer and just directly went out of the room.
I gritted my teeth.
I honestly don't care about his whereabouts, where is he going, or the sh*ts he's going to do with his life but I'm still as clueless as a child to what I am supposed to do now in these times.
I hurriedly fixed myself and stood up from the bed and followed him.
Now, that I can clearly see the inside of his mansion, I was in total awe.
It's so breathtaking.
This place managed to dazzle me when it was dark and now that I can see everything crystal clear-- wow.
My mother used to tell us stories about our pack living in a cage and places that are not so flattering a hundred decades ago when there was still chaos between our kind, vampires, and humans. And, now that we're in civilization, I can't help but think how lucky we are because we didn't get to experience those.
We may be living in a small town now with a simple life and don't have the luxury like what Valerian Fenrir has, I will still choose that kind of life. With my family and friends. Every day may not be a good day but it's my life that I get to live.
"Where are you going?" I asked once again when I found Valerian in the dining room.
He didn't answer. He just continued to do his thing.
Why isn't he talking to me now?
Damn this bastard.
Valerian wiped his mouth using the table napkin when he was done eating and I just watched him.
He had steak on his plate that he finished now and a red liquid on his wine glass.
"Is that--?" I trailed off as I pointed to his wine glass.
He just simply nodded and drank from the wine glass like it wasn't a big deal. Of course, it's not a big deal, drinking blood is normal for their kind. It is their nature.
Now, I can't help but wonder where are his other kind. Seems like there's no one living here in this mansion and that means he doesn't have his family here.
I sat on one of the chairs at the long table. "Do you kill humans for your food?"
Valerian looked at me because of what I just asked.
I was hesitant to ask him that but I badly want to know where do they get the blood they're drinking. Do they just kill humans like it's a normal thing to do? That's horrible. And besides, we're already in a modern time, if someone goes missing nowadays or murdered, it will be a hot topic so I wonder how do they do what they do.
My gaze landed on his hand. It has a bite mark- my bite. And because I don't have a pair of sharp fangs like him, it looks so bad. It is bruising so bad and has like a yellowish and purple color. And it became more visible because his skin is as white as snow.
I shouldn't feel remorse. It's just a bite. It's nothing compares to the things he does; like kill human and drink their blood.
Valerian noticed that I was looking at his hand. "I usually can heal myself with ease but I can't heal your bite," he said as he quickly put his hand under the table.
"That just means you marked me, Natasha," he added.
I suddenly fell silent as my hand automatically touched the bite mark on my neck. So it won't go away? It will be here forever?
This can't be.
Valerian stood up from his chair and wore his coat.
He walked towards me and brought his face close to mine. "Yes, I kill humans and drink their blood but I don't mind drinking the blood of a wolf girl if I'm provoked. I go both ways."
I gulped unable to find the right words to say.
He stood up straight and fixed his coat.
"I'm leaving. If you're thinking of stepping out of this place, don't bother. I'm going to hunt you down, Natasha." He looked straight into my eyes. "Be good and don't tempt me to tie you in the basement," he warned before he turned his back at me like he didn't just say sh*t.
~*~
If my calculations are right, I was staring at the ceiling for about two and a half hours now.
When Valerian left after he said those words to me, I can't help but realized that I have nothing that guarantees my safety around him. He basically held me captive here in his lair and I have no idea what's going on in his mind which makes everything more dangerous for me.
Now, all I gotta do is obey him. Obey everything he's going to say and try to be close with him so I could know his weaknesses. And in able for me to do that, I have to pretend. I have to submit to him.
Sh*t.
I can't think of any other way- that is the only way.
My hearing is triggered when I heard the front door open downstairs.
I quickly stood up from the bed and walked towards the door.
It can't be Valerian because he doesn't even use doors here in his mansion. He would just always pop out giving me a heart attack.
"Valerian, are you here?!"
A voice of a woman filled my ears as she repeatedly call Valerian's name.
Who is she?
"F*CK!" I exclaimed when all of the sudden the woman is inside the room with me.
"Who are you?" she asked as she creased her forehead in confusion.
She stares into my eyes and tilted her head.
The confusion in her face grew further as seconds passed.
"You're not a human," she stated. "Why can't I read your mind?"
I can.
She directly looked into my eyes which made it easier for me to read her mind. She did the job for me.
"Valerian Fenrir's sister," I muttered.
"Who are you?" she asked once again as a smirk formed on her lips.
In a blink, she used her speed and tried to grab my neck but I was quick to hold her hand and cornered her in the wall.
Fear and shock strike her face when I successfully choked her and she failed.
"A-are you a vampire?" she asked stuttering. "But you don't smell like you are."
"Who are you? What are you doing here?"
I didn't even get to answer her first few questions because she showered me with a few more new ones.
I gritted my teeth at her when I read nothing but violence in her mind.
And with that, I got triggered and my mind got clouded.
She started whimpering when my hand tightened around her neck.
"S-stop," she begged and tried to break free from me but she failed to.
"Let her go."
I heard someone speak behind me but my mind is locked into her thoughts.
My blood. She wants my blood.
"Let her go, Natasha." Hearing Valerian's voice snapped me back to reality.
She fell on the ground as she desperately gasped for air when I let go of her neck.
"Who the hell is she?!" she asked as she hissed at Valerian.
"What are you doing here, Elyse?" Valerian asked her back as he help her stand up.
Elyse. His sister.
"Who the hell is she?!" she asked once again. She's looking straight at me with her eyes piercing.
Valerian didn't answer. He grabbed his sister by the arm and they went out of the room leaving me just standing there.
Great, just when I thought my life is in danger by being around Valerian Fenrir, here's another one.
Natasha's POVI heard several knocks on the door before it opened.Elyse entered the room, which made me crease my forehead. What is she doing here?I mean, wasn't she mad at me? She was glaring at me and all earlier, and I have no idea why.Well, it's because I choked her-- I got to give her that. But she provoked me! She wanted to kill me, and I wouldn't just stand there and wait for her to do it. She wants to end my life because she's threatened that I am in their territory-- her brother's lair, and I got to protect myself, but I got out of control. And if it wasn't for the arrival of Valerian- I don't want to think about the possible things that I might do to her.I watched Elyse as she sat on the seat in the corner of the room.I wonder what she and Valerian talked about when they left the room. Not to be nosy or anything but was it about me?"I'm sorry for what happened," she apologized.I automatically looked at her. She's sorry? For what? I was the one who did something to her
Natasha's POVMy breathing becomes heavier as the seconds goes by; It came to the point where taking a breath is becoming hard for me, and it hurts already."Valerian," I whispered as I deeply shut my eyes and clung to my chest.I repeatedly cursed under my breath. "Valerian, fuck. Where are you?!"I tried to stand up from the bed, but my knees were just weak right now, and I failed to."I am so going to kill you." I gritted my teeth.A groan escaped from my mouth as I caressed my stomach. It's burning. My stomach is burning from so much hunger and pain I'm feeling right now. Even if I try to eat meat or whatever there is, it won't quench my desire because only Valerian could do that for me. I know.I swore that I didn't want to feel this anymore, but here I am in this situation again.I haven't seen Valerian for two days now, and I have no idea where he is. Now, I can't help but think that he is punishing me for what happened the other day.Did I hurt his ego for what I did?Shame. I
Natasha's POV"I didn't know you drive," I commented as I stared at Valerian's strong arm and hand gripping the steering wheel.I roamed my eyes inside his car.I just know this is one hell of an expensive car by the looks of it.It looks so classy and beautiful, although I can't see everything since I'm in the shotgun seat with a seatbelt on, and the moves I can make are limited."Why won't you just use your speed to go to places that you want? Gasoline is expensive," I remarked.Valerian just remained silent, and his eyes stayed focused on the road with his forehead slightly creased. Why is he so serious?Instead of bugging him, I just closed my mouth and remained seated neatly in my seat.He let me out, and if I did something that might piss him off, he would change his mind, and worse, he would do something terrible to me. It's true that he needs me too, but it's Valerian Fenrir that we're talking about here. He's vicious and cannot be trusted.I should always be careful. My eyes
Natasha's POVAfter running in circles for a couple of minutes, I finally found the exit of Valerian's company. And I was right; the building is so big that my feet started to hurt already from all the walking and running that I did.Now that I'm finally outside, with all the noise of cars in the street and people walking on the sidewalk, I don't know where to go.I'm new here in the city, and I didn't get a chance to explore, so now, I'm as lost as a newborn child."Hi, can I ask?" I approached a woman walking in front of me, and she stopped in her tracks, nodding at me."Where do you think I can find--" I trailed off, unable to finish what was I'm saying, when I realized that I shouldn't talk to people because Valerian might use it to find me so quickly if I interacted with humans. I have to be careful."Never mind, I got it." I smiled at her before I turned my back on her.I'm in downtown right now, and I know it should be easy to find what I am looking for here.I started walking,
Natasha's POVI woke up earlier today just like what I planned to do.I'm used to waking up in the wee hours so this is not a problem for me.With extra caution, I went out of my room and went downstairs. From what I know, vampires don't sleep but I hope Valerian is in his room right now so I could freely do what I need to do.The whole house is so quiet when I walked across the living room to the kitchen. It's so cold and peaceful but it's almost eerie. All the old paintings hanging on the wall are pretty but the view of it is adding to the spooky ambiance, but I'm more scared by the fact that I live with a vampire. A dangerous one.The moment I was inside the kitchen, I quickly started doing what I need to do. I opened the cupboards and grabbed everything I will need in cooking. Every pot, ingredients, and spice.I carefully started cutting ingredients as I enjoy the peacefulness in Valerian's kitchen.Having to experience this kind of feeling after everything that happened is such
Natasha's POV"Tell me, Natasha." I took a step back scared of Valerian coming close to me.Our eyes met.His eyes are as sharp as a dagger and it's enough to make me tremble in my spot."Why do you want to kill me so bad?" he asked. His voice came out cold and bitter like as if he just got betrayed.Like as if I just betrayed him. . .I swallowed hard.I was already so scared but hearing the way he talks right now, I'm more than terrified."D-don't come near me." I managed to voice out my thoughts with a shaking voice. But saying those words have no use. It was just like a cue for Valerian to come closer."N-no," I stuttered as my palms touched his chest to stop him from coming closer.I know he's going to choke me again and I don't want that. I don't want to feel that anymore. Feeling helpless is the least of things I want right now."P-please," I begged.I am so dumb. I know he's a powerful vampire and yet I let my stupidity get over me.I should've thought this through. I should'v
Natasha's POVThe loud sound of things breaking woke me up from my deep slumber.I automatically sat down in my bed making myself alert in case something terrible is happening or about to happen."I should be used to unusual things happening," I whispered to myself."I'm living with a vampire after all," I added as I shook my head.A loud bang suddenly filled the silent night.Shit.What is happening?I quickly stood up and went to the door. The noise is coming downstairs and I have to find out what's causing it.I slowly opened the door and carefully went out of my room.I have to be very careful because danger might be just lurking around. And when I say danger, I meant Valerian Fenrir, the devil himself.I felt shivers the moment my foot hit the coldness of the stairs but I tried to ignore it and carefully went down. The light coming from the half moon is cursing through the windows but it's not enough because it's still so dark downstairs and I can barely see anything clearly.Cur
Natasha's POV'I own you'Valerian's words keep on playing and playing inside my mind like a boomerang.Non-stop.I slightly gasped when Valerian started tracing my collarbone with his fingers.I hate that the shivers he is giving me with his touch feel good in some way.It feels so good that I want to slap myself for feeling this way."Valerian--" I gasped when he suddenly replaced his fingers with his lips.I can feel his hot breath on my skin as he planted soft and most kisses all over my collarbone.Shit.I could just throw my head back as I feel the sensation of what he is doing to me."U-ugh--" I gripped the bedsheets when Valerian softly suck the skin in my collarbone."You like that, huh?" he whispered.I want to deny it. I want to tell him that I don't like it and I despise him but my body is just betraying me right now. These feelings-- sensations are all foreign to me and I didn't know that they feel so good.So fucking good."You like it, Natasha?" Valerian repeated.I lis
Natasha's POV5 years later. . ."Don't be scared. There's nothing to be scared of riding an airplane. You wouldn't even know we're up in the sky.""But, that's scary, Daddy!"I frowned as I glared at Valerian.I remember him telling me those exact words 5 years ago and me getting even more scared of the plane ride."Come here, baby. Mommy will hold you so you will not be scared anymore," I said as I grabbed my daughter from her father. My daughter pursed her lips. "But, I'm really scared, Mommy.""I know, I know, baby. But I'm here, Daddy is here too, we will protect you," I reassured her as I hugged her small body, fragile body."Darling, I think we should not force her, I can drive us to the place," Valerian chimed in.I shook my head. "The car drive will take over 10 hours, she will have a hard time."But, we should not force her, love," Valerian reasoned out."We are not forcing her, we're teaching her to be brave." I turned to my daughter. "Right, baby? You want to be brave, rig
Third-Person Point of ViewAs the sun started to rise, more damage from the fight became visible. The fight may have already stopped but the damage it has left from the hearts of the ones that survived can never be forgotten."Valerian!" Victorio yelled at Valerian upon seeing him with Natasha on his arm.Victorio's heart hammered inside his chest as he quickly ran in their direction."Is she okay? What happened to her?" Victorio quickly asked as he kneeled down in front of Valerian who was sitting on the floor."She's fine, she just passed out," Valerian answered. "How about you? Are you alright?" he asked when he saw the blood scattered all around Victorio's clothes and face.Victorio nodded. "Ezra is fine too, I kept him safe.""Thank you," Valerian thanked Victorio.Valerian feels so bad for Ezra. He knows he's been hurting so much from losing Elyse as he is too. They share the same pain so he understands Ezra with all his heart."It's done," Victorio whispered upon seeing Acanthu
Third-Person Point of ViewAcanthus and his pack prepared everything— from weapons to their skills and strength— before they fled their town to go to war.Acanthus had prepared his whole pack for years and years, getting them ready to get his revenge on his mortal enemy, vampires— the Fenrir's specifically. And now he is ready.Acanthus firmly believes that he has the upper hand upon seeing how devastated Valerian Fenrir looked earlier staring at his daughter, Natasha. He believed that he could surely use that to win and kill Valerian Fenrir. When Acanthus sent his daughter to the city to kill Valerian Fenrir, he was overly confident that Natasha could kill Valerian because he trained her starting from the day that Natasha learned how to walk and he's also aware of Natasha's skills and strength but Acanthus was more than disappointed when instead of killing Valerian, Natasha fell in love with him. He thought that he had already done everything for them to stop being mates. And so he h
Valerian's POVI am known to be ruthless.I am known to be a devil. Both by humans and vampires.I am often labeled as cold.As stern. As hard.I've lived hundreds of years in this lifetime and I already came to terms with that, that even I, myself believed that I am. I had to.But, upon hearing my sister's voicemails to me, I felt weak. Upon hearing that Natasha was crying and that my sister is also in danger in the middle of nowhere, I once again hated being immortal because the pain and worry that I feel felt like it could kill me but I could not be killed and it's the fucking worst. It's hell."Drive faster, Ezra," I ordered Ezra and he did so.I could see him gripping the steering wheel tightly as he drove my car, almost wanting to make it fly."Tell me what happened to Elyse, Valerian." He gritted his teeth.I fell silent.I had outlived my parents years ago. I saw my friends die. But there's nothing like the pain of losing my sister.I breathed sharply as memories of me and Ely
Third-Person Point of ViewAll Elyse could do was stare at Natasha's back as she ran away.Elyse tried to call out for her but Natasha was dedicated to not turning her back to look at her. She just continued to run until she was out of the mansion's gate.Elyse's eyes followed her as she watched her get in the car and drive off.Realizing that Natasha was gone, Elyse suddenly came back to reality. She quickly got her keys and went inside her car, deciding to follow the old red Chevy without thinking about anything.Elyse was more than willing to help Natasha because she strongly felt like her friend was in trouble even though Natasha would not tell her anything. She wanted to give as much help as she could and she thought if Natasha would not tell her what was wrong, she will going to find out about it herself. She can't just sit around and stand by knowing that her friend, Natasha might be in great danger. She knew that she would be in danger because of what she saw in her vision whe
Natasha's POVWe have arrived at our town after hours of driving. It's been months since I've been here, it has been months since I last saw my parents, it has been months since the last time I was here, and in those times, Sayna was still alive.I thought it would be nostalgic being in here again but it does not feel like it. It feels different, it feels strange. And I know because my comfort is not here anymore.I thought of the city, of the people in there, of Elyse, of Valerian. . .Valerian. . .Hurt is an understatement to describe the pain that I'm feeling in my heart right now.I lost the most important person in my life and it feels like I'm going to lose someone that had become important to me, too.It hurts. It hurts so much I don't have any words to describe what I'm feeling. The heaviness that I felt in my heart was so hard to contain that my eyes would not stop tearing up.I lost Sayna.I lost Sayna and the reason for that loss is the man that I love.Is the man that I l
Natasha's POVThe sun was already rising when we got home.It was a long flight but Valerian and I were fully rested because of how comfortable the insides of his private jet were.I got scared again when we got on the plane but Valerian never let go of my hand and never stopped reassuring me that everything would be okay and that I had nothing to be scared of.I was scared for the first couple of minutes when the plane took off but I eventually got comfortable beside Valerian and the next thing I knew, I was not scared anymore. It was like, I was not even scared of the plane ever.I was able to face my fear of the plane and I'm hoping that the fear of being home again and going back to reality of my life with Valerian will go away.As soon as we were set at home, Valerian immediately told me that he had to go to his office. He asked me if I wanted to go with him but I refused because I knew he had a lot of work to do and I didn't want to get on his way."Drive safe," I told him as I
Natasha's POVI took a deep breath as I stared at the ceiling.Valerian is lying down beside me and he is quiet. We have both been quiet since we got back to our villa from the restaurant. He managed to calm me down and stopped me from crying earlier at the restaurant by promising me a lot of things like he would fix everything for me and I believe him. I genuinely believed that he would do that.I started to trust Valerian unknowingly and I'm glad that I do.We had a quiet and peaceful dinner and when we got to our villa, no one said anything.I was quiet so was Valerian.A lot of thoughts running through my head and Valerian seemed like he was thinking deeply about something too."How are you feeling?" he suddenly asked beside me."Good," I answered. My voice came out hoarse because of all the crying that I had done earlier.Embarrassment started to form in me upon realizing what I had done earlier.I refused to believe that I broke down in front of him and it was even in public but
Natasha's POVThe sail from Athens to Santorini was approximately 4 hours but it became 6 because of all the miracles that Valerian and I did in the middle of the ocean.I can't believe that we even did it outside on the deck! When Valerian finally told me that we were going to Santorini, I got so excited that I just gave in to him and did whatever he wanted us to do and now I'm rethinking my decision because I feel kind of uncomfortable right in the middle of my thighs."Are you okay, darling?" Valerian asked. "Does your feet hurt?""Yeah, I'm okay," I just answered as I did my best to walk properly without limping towards the bed.I sighed loudly when I finally reached the bed and finally laid down."What happened?" Valerian asked as he sat down beside me on the bed."You happened," I replied. We're at the Villa house that Valerian got for us here at a resort in Santorini. I wanted to explore the place even the whole villa but I really felt uncomfortable in between my thighs that I
