Thea's POV
The guards came straight to me, holding me in place as they made me go on my knees. "What's going on?" I cried to no one in particular.
"You stupid bitch! How dare you try to lure the future Alpha?" Beta Cam barked at me, swinging his hand forcefully across my face, "Now accept the rejection!"
I looked towards Jacob who quickly turned his face away, "Ja...jacob, please!" I sobbed, blood spilling down my lips where Beta Cam has slapped me.
Nuella grabbed my chin tightly as she spat at my face, "you're just a lowly orphan and you don't deserve Jacob. So accept the rejection now, bitch."
"Don't make this harder for us Thea. Just say the words and accept the rejection." Jacob begged from the room.
I hung my head, tired from the whole pain and drama, "I, Thea Clover accept your rejection, Jacob Onyx as my mate."
Nuella let out a strangled laugh as Jacob and I dropped to the ground, holding our chest in pain. But then the pain faded immediately. Our mate bond was broken.
Jacob swarmed off the ground and rushed away before I could even take a glance. Talk about a waste of time!
The mate bond was broken and we were officially over. I had no time to mourn our breakup as I crawled from the ground towards the door.
Nuella pierced my hands with the heel of her shoe, "Tomorrow, Jacob will be getting engaged to me and soon I'll be Luna."
I ignored her crazy delusions as I tried to get up my feet but then she knocked me hard to the floor, "you'll never be good enough. You're weak and pathetic." She spat, "I, on the other hand was born to be Luna."
"Where do you think you're going?" Beta Luke asked and signalled the guards to drag me back.
"I already rejected Jacob. What more do you want?" I screamed amidst sobs.
"You're going to be banished and gone for good, I don't want you to further poke your nose in the Alpha's affairs." He signalled a guard and the guard brought in fuel, "Burn her!"
My eyes widened in pure terror! "Burn? W....what are you talking about?" I panicked as the guard started pouring me a bucket of fuel.
"Please Beta Cam, I swear I won't go near Jacob, please let me go. My grandmother, she needs me. She's sick. P.....please" I pleaded but it all fell on deaf ears.
He laughed devilishly, "Your grandmother has already joined your parents, so it's time for you to join her too. After all the whole Clover family is destined to be wiped off."
"What! Y....you cannot do this. My grandmother is innocent, she didn't do anything. Please let me go." I yelled, kicking in all directions.
Nuella kicked me, "Bye to hell!" They strolled out of the room and left me to my dismay.
After emptying the whole gallon of fuel on me, the guard moved towards the door with a match in his hand, ready to strike, maybe it would all end here and I would join my parents and grandma in full glory. I took in my final breath and closed my eyes, waiting for death to consume me.
But then a hard voice cut in, barely stopping the guard from lighting the match, "Stop! What do you think you're doing?" He demanded, dressed in all black like my savior from earlier.
"Who are you?" The guard inquired, "The Beta has instructed me to burn this worthless slave to-"
At the speed of lightning, he grabbed the guard's chin and twisted fiercely, staring daggers at him, "Get out of before I tear you from limb to limb!"
Hope filled my eyes as I saw the guard scared of the stranger's wits disappearing from the room. Who was this strange man saving me miraculously, was it my guardian angel?
He shifted his gaze to me as he spoke with a harsh tone, "it seems you're everywhere and trouble lurks around you. Come here." Before I could say anything, he lifted me off the ground.
I hit his chest, demanding for him to let me go, "where are you taking me to? Let me go."
"That's not how to express gratitude." He scoffed, still carrying me.
I casually apologized, expecting him to drop me but he continued moving and then the next thing, I was thrown into a car. What? Was he some kind of kidnapper? What would he need a slave orphan like me for?
Panic surged through me as I banged the door, "where are you taking me to? Please let me go... I don't know you." I stammered.
He tapped the man at the driver's seat to drive, "would you keep quiet? Or you want me to toss you back to your killers?" His cold voice shut me up.
My throat suddenly grew dry as I examined the man in front of me, he was kind and harsh at the same time. What was he up to? And why was he even saving me in the first place? Plus why do I feel like he's someone of high value. The strange aura around him says a lot.
He didn't give me a second glance as
I moved towards the window staring at the trees and houses as the car drove on, "Dear Moon Goddess, please put me in good hands." I said a little prayer in my heart.
*******
A light tap woke me up, "Hey, we're here."
I rubbed my sleepy eyes, alighting from the car, "where are we? I..."
"We're in the Wolf Tribe." He continued, "you've not been kidnapped and you can loosen up now."
"What.... I'm sorry sir but I don't know anyone and I don't belong here." I stuttered reluctant to move.
He leaned closer and spoke harshly to my ear, "If you waste my time anymore, I'll carry you myself."
I jumped out of the car, shifting uncomfortable at the sight of an unfamiliar environment, it was already morning and I could tell it was a long journey. But what was I doing in the Wolf King's pack? A man dressed in black walked up to us and bowed to my saviour.
"Your highness, his Majesty has been so worried about you." I looked around to see who his was addressing, shivering on my feet that the Prince was definitely walking behind us.
I heard the man close to me say to the guard, "Tell him I'll see him soon. I just returned."
What!!! My Saviour was the Prince? I was definitely in some fantasy that I need to wake up from.
Damian POV I stared at the girl sitting just opposite me, why was I drawn to her? There was this strange attraction I felt towards her and I couldn't understand it. But I wasn't destined to have a mate, so what could this attraction towards her be? My phone rang, disrupting the thoughts that were running through my head, "Yes, Father, I'm on my way home." I answered without even looking at the screen. Only the Wolf King could call me at any fucking time and I was quite aware that I had been out of the palace for nearly 20 hours, therefore prompting the call. Yes, I'm the son of Wolf King Karlos of the Western pack tribe. Being the pack's tribe all the neighbouring packs rule under our guidance and control. My father might be the Powerful Wolf King, but he's suffering from an incurable curse that will soon take his life when he clocks 30 in a few months. Not just him; in fact, all the sons of the Royal have been placed under a curse. The Royal family has been cursed by a powerful w
Thea's POV I complied with the Prince's terms despite still being confused about why he needed me to be his Luna for three months. I was nothing but a lowly servant and now homeless and even an orphan. A couple of maids walked in and started cleaning me up, preparing me for dinner night.I was cleaned up, dressed in one of the best clothing I had ever seen in my entire life, and even scented with nice perfumes. "You look beautiful." One of the maids complimented me as she stared at my reflection in the mirror. I nodded my head in agreement because I was still stunned by my transformation. Who would have thought that a maid like me could be this beautiful and stunning? The light blue dress that was custom-made to fit me sparkled as I swirled around. The maids let out a gasp at my gorgeousness. "The Prince would be stunned when he sees you." Another chirped in. And I couldn't help but blush at their comments. They had finished doing my hair and my makeup when a soft knock came
Damian POV They looked up at me as soon as I announced the performance of the ritual in shock. She wasn't expecting it and I didn't mention this before she signed the contract. The truth was that there wasn't going to be a ritual earlier, but as I arrived with Thea at the dinner hall today, my father had called me to the side and complained of how he had seen a witch in his dreams, and the witch looked just like Thea. Witches are hated in our pack because they're responsible for our curse and to be sure Thea wasn't one, she would have to perform the ritual. The ritual was for her to drink the blood of a werewolf. Witches and werewolves don't get along because they're considered forbidden in the wolf's world, and werewolves are also considered forbidden in the witch's coven."Dad, is the ritual necessary? I think you must have misunderstood Thea's face." I tried to convince my Dad. But he wasn't having it. "I know what I saw, son, but if we need to be sure that she isn't a witch t
Damian POV I retired to my room with the information my father had just told me. Thea was a witch? But we didn't smell it on her. Werewolves were blessed with this keen sense of smell, and we could detect a supernatural just by their scent, but it was different with Thea. By her scent, we could tell that she's an Omega. The ritual was in three days and then we would confirm Thea's true identity if she was a witch or not. If she was a witch, then she would collapse and die just by drinking the blood of a werewolf bug. If she wasn't, then she'd survive it.******We all gathered in front of a raised altar; a priest was chanting, walking round the altar while Thea knelt before it.She was stripped of her clothes and tied to a robe, ready to go through the process of the ritual.I was hoping and praying upon hope that nothing would go wrong because that would mean I would go through the pain of being forced to marry Pamela, the daughter of the Darkfang pack. The Spirit Weaver started to
Thea POVDamian helped me off the floor whilst the cheers and applause went on. I had survived the pack's ritual, and everyone was cheering and singing happily for me. Some were even whistling about it. For the first time, I saw the prince smiling. He shot me a big smile as he helped me up. He turned to the crowd and cleared his throat to address them, "As we all know, my Luna to be had passed the ritual, and with the authority vested in me, I hereby pronounce her the future Luna of the western tribe as we await her coronation." He said and raised my hand in victory. The announcement erupted a lot of laughter and cheers from the crowd as their voice rose even higher. The Wolf King walked up to me and threw me into his embrace, "Congratulations, my daughter." He said as he pressed me into his tight hug. But I could feel this uneasiness in him, doesn't he like me?The Wolf King moved closer to Damian to whisper something to him.I was shivering from the cold, and the robe could b
Thea POV "Hey, I'm sorry about her. I hope you don't take what she said to heart." Damian said. I nodded to his words and moved to sit at the dressing table."Fine then, I'll go now. You don't need to worry about Pamela; she's just here for the coronation, and after that,t, you'll see her no more." He added. "Okay," I replied and he headed towards the door. "But she said something about the Royal family..." I said and he halted halfway. Damian turned to me sharply, "What did she say about the Royal family?" He asked in an urgent tone. "She said there's so much that I don't know, is there anything wrong with the King or anyone?" I asked curiously. "No, there's nothing you should worry about." He said but I didn't believe him. I peered deeply at his eyes through the mirror, "You sure?" I asked again. "Yes?" I stood up and walked towards him, my eyes never leaving his, "Damain, you can always talk to me about it." I assured him. Even though he was saying that everything was fi
Damain POVI searched around but couldn't find Thea, she excused herself a few minutes ago that she wanted to go use the bathroom. But it's been almost 30 minutes and Thea had been out of sight. I signaled Finn, my beta, who was standing guard behind me, "Hey, have you seen the Queen?" I asked him and he shook his head. I was starting to get worried as the crowd and celebration continued without Thea in sight. It wouldn't be right for me to look for Thea. I had been crowned the King, and I couldn't possibly leave the throne empty in front of everyone to go search for her. I turned to Finn, "Go look for the Luna, and make sure you get here with her." I ordered and he left immediately. My father and some other Alphas came forward to pay their respect to me as I was now crowned the King. One after the other all the other Alphas paid their respects to me and even dropped the gifts they came with.Even though I was happy that I finally succeeded my father and also got married to some
Thea POV I sat on the table shifting and turning uncomfortable on my seat. I wasn't enjoying the party one bit, and the whole shit was going on again. I just needed to go to my room to relax my head as soon as I could. I turned to Damian to whisper to his ears and tell him that I would like to get back to my room as the coronation had already been done and it was just the party time. Damian looked at me in confusion to ask if there was anything wrong, and I shook my head, so he said that I wasn't enjoying that I could retire back inside. "Fine then, you can go." He said, and I took my leave after bowing happily to him and some other important guests at the table. After making sure I ate to my full and stood up from the table. Damian instructed a guard to me who was meant to follow me until I reached there successfully but I unfortunately couldn't reach there in time. Damian POV"I think this is a better idea." The Elder stood up to second Thea's opinion and all tribe members quietly listened to hear my final decision.I nodded my head as I glanced at Thea, a proud smile playing softly on her face. "I support you all. The opinion is a good one, I think it's already time we get rid of some unnecessary traditions. Placing Kings will be a new law from henceforth." I declared and they all applaud Thea. "Thank you." Thea mouthed softly to me. I smiled at her, she was truly a good soul. Even though our marriage was just a contract, she didn't behave like it.So real.I cleared my throat as I addressed the pack members, "From henceforth the law of burning the corpse of Kings has been lifted. Instead, they'll be placed in a tomb, and we'll frequently visit them to pay our respects." I imposed. "We accept your declaration, our King." Everyone chorused. I passed the order to some guards to get a tomb ready for the King. We placed the King in a tomb and
Damian POV "Father, you need to stop talking and resting now," Thea said softly. I furrowed my brows at her, that was the first time she had called the King Father. "My daughter, I know I'm not going to get better, so I'm prepared to go from here, but I want you to tolerate each other and be the best of yourselves." My father said weakly as he addressed the two of us. Thea became teary, even though I couldn't see her face but the sudden hoarse voice was clear enough to know that she was grieving inside. I squeezed my father's hand firmly, "Father please, just rest a bit.""It's okay son. I bless the union between you and the Queen. I want you both to be happy together and rule the Kingdom peacefully." These were the last words of my father before he gave up the ghost. His once tight hands around us loosened as he dropped dead right in front of us. "Father..." I called out and rocked his lifeless body on the bed. There was no answer. My father, the King was no more. "Father,
Damian POV Finn, my beta walked into my office to find me in deep thoughts."Good day, my King." He greeted.I was crowned the King a few days ago after choosing Thea as my Luna and Queen in front of everyone."What is it?" I asked, frowning."My King, I brought information concerning the Luna. I'm sorry it's coming late but we've been so busy with the coronation." He said and dropped a file of papers on my desk."You can go." I dismissed him.I had told him to get all the necessary information about Thea after my father allegedly said that Thea was a witch.I scanned through the papers, her whole biography was before me.Thea was a servant at the Shadow Moon pack because her parents died during a war...I immediately closed it. Thea was by no means a witch or whatever it was that Father said she was. Well, that was already cleared a long time ago before Finn brought the papers today but I decided to scan through to satisfy my curiosity.I walked out of my office to get some fresh ai
Thea POV "Who are you?" I screamed as I jerked away from the light. It was so bright that if I hadn't covered my face, then I would have gone blind. There was no answer, but instead, the light kept reducing; the light dimmed a little, and the person behind it began to show his/her face gradually. It was a woman, not just a woman. She looked mysterious with full grey hair. "Who are you? What do you want from me?" I repeated as I moved backward, trembling in fear. "My daughter..." She began as she studied me while laughing mysteriously. "I'm not your daughter!" I retorted. "Thea, you'll die a mysterious death just like the past Luna did." She said, and I stood in shock as the strange woman spilled out what she claimed to be the truth about me. "What? No, no. It can't be!" I protested and I was about to tell her how she was mistaken because I wasn't the true Luna of the pack. It's a contract arrangement, and once my three months are done, then I'll be a free m
