Evelyn’s POV
I paced around the room as several thoughts went through my head, Mei said she would be back soon to take me to the Alpha and before she left she told me to shower and wear one of the dresses she had picked out for me.
Meeting Alpha Devon felt like my world was coming to an end, i couldn’t believe I am going to loosing my innocence to a complete stranger, not just a stranger but a cruel Alpha.
I had always fantasized about meeting my mate, we mating and having beautiful children, but who would have thought this is what fate had in stock for me.
I pulled off my dress and my figure illuminated in the mirrors in front of me. Pale patches and a few scars were scatteredall across my body plus the new scrapes and bruises from the day before, I ran my fingers through my scars, I used to hate looking at my body but I have grown used to the scars they had even started to blend with my skin.
There are a lot of beautiful girls with clear skin and in good shape so why did Alpha Devon choose me?
I took my bath and picked a peach colored dress out of the dresses Mei had selected. I was still dressing up when I heard a knock on the door again.
I slowly advanced towards it and my eyes met Mei standing in front when I opened the door.
“Are you ready now?” She asked me.
“Not yet.” I replied slowly.
Mei helped me to dress up and she helped me with fixing my hair. After I was done she told me it was time to meet the Alpha. She opened the door, I walked towards her. She shut the door behind us before she started leading me to the Alpha.
As we walked further I couldn’t help but admire the polished marble floor, it was shining with a gold like light that made my eyes dizzy.
Mei stopped abruptly in front of a large door, she then knocked twice, my heart beat fast and my palms were sweaty from the nervousness I am feeling.
“Come in.” I heard a thick husky voice say, my heart skipped a few beat. She opened the door and walked in, and I dragged my feet against the floor as I walked in slowly.
The room is quite dark, the lack of light made me sharpen my vision and my sense of smell, a rush of air brushed through me carrying his scent, it reminded me of a cedar forest that had snowed in the winter. He has a very cold and sharp aura.
“Alpha she is here.” Mei said in a very low tone her face were fixed to the ground, I lowered my head too.
“Leave us.” He commanded and she quickly turned to leave. I heard the door shut quietly and cold sweat ran down my spine. Being alone with the Alpha I had heard so many bad things of caused the hairs on my body to spring up. Goosebumps filled my skin, I didn’t know what to expect and they scared me.
I stood in the middle of the room as I waited for him to say something to me. He instead stands up from the armchair he was lounging on and started to make his way towards me, as he drew closer the air around me seemed to grow thinner. I was wrapped in his scent and I could feel my body shake with nerves and anticipation.
I felt a surge of energy course through my veins, I felt dizzy and I felt my legs grow weak. I felt strange; like something had sucked all my energy away, my body felt weak, the heat of his body in the cold room seeped through my skin
My legs gave way and I felt my slender body fall backward, I closed my eyes waiting for my body to hit the floor but instead I felt a warm arm wrap around my waist.
Something jumped inside of me, and I heard a voice inside of my head.
“My name is Blair, and I am your wolf”. The voice resounded inside of me.
“My wolf?” I heard myself reply the voice, but I wasn’t talking my mouth weren’t open or moving. It felt like my mind was connected to the strange force inside of me.
“Yes Evelyn, I have been dying to meet you, I apologize for the delay”.
I heard other werewolves meet their wolf as early as ten to twelve years old but when I passed the age and I didn’t still get my wolf I was deemed wolfless and ranked a wolf less omega, the lowest of the low. I was devastated and the members of the pack bullied me more. I couldn’t believe I have a wolf too my heart leaped in joy.
“You’re too thin!” I heard Alpha Devon say pulling me away from my thoughts. My eyes looked to his and even though it is quite dark, his forest green eyes were bright and piercing. My jaw dropped, he is stunning and nothing could have prepared me for his good looks, I had expected to see a cruel looking monster with how people described him but the man in front is the most handsome man my eyes had ever seen.
His face has the most delicate features and perfectly chiseled jawline, I felt a current of electricity surge through my body when I realized his fingers were still clasped around the sides of my waist. I heard myself gulp loudly, I bit my lips to stop myself from having a panic attack.
“Why are you shaking so bad? I don’t bite.” His voice was deep, very sexy and had a compelling power.
“Alpha….” I started but I heard Blair’s voice again.
“He is our mate!” She blurted out.
“Mate!” I thought I said in my head, but with the look on his face, I realized I had said it out loud. He stared at me in shock, then his face curled up in disgust. My heart pinched and I watch his perfectly shaped lips open and form a word.
“What?”
Alpha Devon's POVI didn't know exactly what to think, her outburst left different thoughts running in my head and I can't seem to decipher any of them. I quickly pushed her from my grasp and she staggered a bit. “What did you just say?’’ I roared. She slowly brought her palms to her mouth as if trying to take back what she said and I couldn't help noticing how shaky she was. How can such a weakling be my mate? The fact that I bought her with my money makes it even more meaningless. Her silence was demeaning, I felt anger surge through me and in a flash I grabbed her chin and pushed her to the wall, slamming her back on it. She let out a painful whimper while I tightened my grip, drawing my face closer to hers.“What makes you think we'd be mated?’’ “I'm…sorry'’ She was literally struggling for breath as she spoke. But something in me believes we are mates and that's what angers me more. I felt the rush of a tingling sensation when I grabbed her waist earlier and Ian kept actin
Evelyn's POVMy tears kept flowing nonstop as they dragged me like a useless tool. I should have known I have an ill luck, I'm fated for woe and nothing good. What was I doing, thinking a noble Alpha would be my mate? The guards stopped in front of an iron door and one brought out a bunch of keys from his pocket. He selected the right one and inserted it into the keyhole. I felt my heart leap at the sound of the door unlock and I turned to them.“Please don't do this, you don't have to put me in here. You can find an abandoned room or toilet or anywhere else but not just here please.’’ I pleaded as memories of the nights I spent in my foster parent’s dungeon started flashing through my head. “I'm sorry Miss, we can't disobey the Alpha.’’ the same guard that unlocked the door said. He grabbed my arm to push me inside but I held back with my second hand.“What do you think you're doing?’’ he roared angrily. “You can't also be heartless, I've been pleading” I yelled back before rea
Alpha Devon's POV I opened my eyes to the rays of the sunlight, penetrating directly into them from the window. I slowly tossed over to the other side of my bed to hide from the light but I felt it again, a cold sensation against my left thigh. A throaty groan forced its way out of my mouth and I sat up on the edge of the bed. I looked down on my pants and as expected, it was overly wet from excessive release. What is that dirty omega doing to me? It's been three days since then but I still can't seem to shake her image off my head. I'm definitely overthinking, she probably wasn't as sexy as I'm imagining. What's with these illusions? I need to stop this craziness before it gets out of hand. Not only have I been slipping into thoughts of her but I've also started having wet dreams about her. This is a huge red flag, I might get forced to do what I would overly regret. I know she is my mate or rather, she was my mate because I've rejected her now, the mate connection is supposed t
Alpha Devon's POV “Alright. I was kidding okay? But it won't be too bad if it eventually becomes true” he smiled dreamily that I started trying to figure out what was so sweet about her.“Get the fuck outta here...” I rushed towards him but he ran before I got to him, he ran into my bedroom, laughing maniacally. ~End of flashback~“C'mon. I told you that was just me pulling your legs.’’ He rolled his eyes, heading for the passageway.“It's just a harmless warning.” I shrugged, following behind him. Maybe I just can't afford spending my money on a value only to let it off to someone else. She is mine, mate or not, she belongs to me.“Speaking of her. I haven't seen her around, isn't she out of the dungeon yet?’’ Luther continued. I really didn't want to go into the conversation but I also don't want to behave suspiciously. ‘’She's not.’’ I said as simply as I could and Luther turned to me but I kept my gaze ahead of him.‘’It's been three day now Devon.’’ The fact that he called
Evelyn's POV I remained still, lingering in my spot on the floor. Not even an ounce of strength was left in me. The violent pinches from my tummy resumed and I curled up closer, clutching my stomach weakly.I didn't hear any more sounds from the guards and I started wondering if anyone actually came or talked— maybe it was my imagination. My hope of leaving this place is not up to the size of a mustard seed, it feels like I've spent my whole life here and the skies are only an illusion or a figment of my over-active imagination. An unusual brightness came onto my face and the vision within my closed eyes reddened, I tightened my eyelids in discomfort. ‘’Get up!’’ I heard a thick voice bark at me, echoing in the room. Now I'm sure I wasn't imagining things at the beginning. With my eyes still closed, I gathered every single strength, left in my nerves and pulled myself up, to my knees. My bones creaked and waves of pain enveloped me. I remained on my knees helplessly. How does
Evelyn's POV My brain paused for a moment as I rephrased through the name Miss Rosa mentioned. No doubt, I've heard it somewhere. “Show some respect.’’ I heard Miss Rosa snap behind me. I quickly bowed my head in deference to him.“Greetings Alpha” “Thank you, Rosa” I heard his melodious voice respond. “Raise your heads.” he commanded. It was then I realized I had been the only one looking into his face when he came in earlier. I sighed inwardly, lifting my face. “Remind me of your name,” Miss Rosa inquired. ‘’It's Evelyn.’’ I answered.“Go with the Alpha, he wants to see you.’’ She ordered and nervousness built up in me. I swallowed nervously as I turned to him, his eyes were still on me and a pang of discomfort overwhelmed me. Who is he? What is going on? What am I supposed to think? If I'm becoming a maid then there's no way I could have been sold to another Alpha. He walked out through the doorway and I followed immediately. Trailing behind him as he kept walking wit
Alpha Devon's POV I blurted out the words before realizing, building great intensity in the silence. The two other maids tracked my gaze and noticed it was on her. They scanned her body with their eyes, such that if it were their hands, she would have been naked by now.Though her body is not exposed in any way, considering the style of their uniform and the thick, hard fabric it is made from, she still looked seductive to me. Her curvy hips and full thick thighs stood out in the gown with her pretty knees, threatening for a caress. Their uniform is a cream colored, long sleeved fitting gown with emerald green checker design. She looked lost for words as I supposed anyone would, my outburst obviously caught her by surprise. Not excluding the other two maids, even myself. It was supposed to be mere thoughts but I guess my perplexity was too overwhelming. I spat it out without arranging a way to defend the intense reactions that was bound to follow. I quickly thought of differen
Chapter 11Evelyn's POV I settled on a thick sweatshirt with yoga pants, they will do well in covering me up from the cold night breeze, I let my hair down my shoulders this time. I usually didn't like letting it down because of its thickness, but tonight’s cold is kind of freakish.I checked my reflection in the mirror before walking out of my room. I wondered why I still have a room to myself, other maids shared rooms…even Alexa and Eva. I walked quietly to the hallway and surprisingly, Alpha Luther was already on the meeting spot. I kind of felt bad that he was the one that had to wait for me.“Good evening Alpha Luther, I'm sorry for keeping you waiting.” I said sincerely. “Fair enough, I just got here too. Shall we?’’ He stretched out his palm, surprising the hell outta me.I took in my lips and walked a little ahead of him and it seemed he got the message. He dropped his hand and we started our walk. I wasn't really comfortable with it; some maids were still walking aroun

Evelyn's POV After what felt like years of darkness I fling my eyelids open sharply to meet a blurry white surface. I blinked my lids repeatedly to clear my view when I heard a voice. Or should I say voices?I felt a warm sensation on my forehead, I traced the direction it came to see… Luther? Bloody yes! He was the one. On seeing this, my vision cleared up immediately. “Hey.’’ He called softly. I tried to sit up abruptly, but a striking pain hit my abdomen, earning a whimper from me.‘‘Fuck! Easy, you still need some rest.’’ He grabbed me carefully, helping me sit up. That was when I noticed a shadow on my left side through my peripherals. I almost jumped down from my position when my gaze caught Devon’s. “Hey.’’ His voice was so soft, it sounded weird. “What are you… what happened?’’ I faced Luther and eyed Devon again.“You're recovering,” Luther spoke, and everything came rushing into my memory. The immense coughing, the blood, my screams.“My children! Where are my childr
Evelyn's POV “Then should I get you water, my lady?” Merit came again, she was never going to get tired I guess. I ignored her yet again. She has been convincing me to eat something, but I wouldn't even respond to her.She sighed and finally left. I laid my head on the dining table, looking at nothing in particular. I felt empty. I felt dejected. My life became like a burden to me. I feel so sick and I don't know exactly what is wrong with me. Worse is nobody cares, or Luther doesn't care. He never came to see me, he doesn't ask after me. He hates me now. Even I hate myself. My children were the only pillar I clung onto. Their love was enough to keep me alive and waiting for Luther's forgiveness. I'm sure the pack members hate me now, probably excluding my maids though. I lifted myself wearily, dragging myself to the bed. I reached for my phone and stared at Luther's number, but a knock came on the door. The person came in when I wouldn't respond, and my eyes almost popped out
Alpha Devon's POV A genuine smile lingered uncontrollably on my lips. It was the first time in four years that I felt genuinely happy. The thoughts of having some tiny little feet pattering the floor sent a hearty chuckle off my lips. “We're here, Alpha.’’ My driver announced, turning the engine off. A fresh wind hit my face as I stepped out. I started my way briskly into the building. What could possibly go wrong now? I would be having my children soon! ‘‘Hey.’’ A familiar voice called out. It had better be my ears malfunctioning. “Finally. I've been waiting for you.’’ She came to view from the waiting room, and it wasn't my ears.A deep sigh escaped my lips. Turns out something could actually go wrong. My smiles dissipated.“Why are you here, Kyra?” “Why do you guys always ask me that silly question?’’ She said as she rolled her eyes. “There is no room for you here. You once misused your privilege, you can't have it again.’’ I continued my way inwards. “We both know that b
Evelyn's POV Trailing my eyes on him from his face to his feet, I knew at this moment that I both hated and dreaded this man in front of me. He was my doom! I looked away from him with a silent sigh, trying to gather up my nerves that were depleted first. “Greetings to you too, Devon.’’ I managed to produce a firm tone, even as my insides were crashing down already. Every word that left his lips, there was no way anyone around wouldn't read the meaning of it.‘‘What now? Wonder Woman in action?’’ He jeered. Somehow, I never get to miss his nasty smirks.“Cut to the chase, Devon. Why are you here?’’ I took a sharp breath, blotting up my true feelings behind an unaffected facade. “You know, Evelyn, that's one thing about you. You're so adept at gauging up your emotions. But I suppose Luther has been too foolish to decipher them, too consumed by his selfish desires to recognize your true nature! But well what does it matter now?" His previously furrowed expression transformed into
Evelyn's POV My heavy eyelids paved the way to a rather confined view, despite how much I widened them. It had become a mundanity every morning I awake, after my anticlimactic date with Luther three days ago. I sat up on my bed. Shoving my bedding aside, I went to the bathroom. Did my morning routine and retired back to bed. That is how it has been every morning for the last few days too. Nothing changed. Luther hasn't tried to come to see me, which means he was still really mad at me.I barely left my room, even if it was certain Luther never brought anyone in on the discovery. If my instincts still function correctly, then I guess the incredible knowledge was just limited to myself and the two colluding brothers. I spend the whole of my days in my room. I no longer see the kids often, except for sure they ask after me and are brought to see me. But they haven't since yesterday, and it bothered me.Sabrina isn't an exemption, except that I never approved of her visits. She had
Luther's POV My gaze didn't waver, I made sure to concentrate my attention on her and capture her every expression. She looked lost and confused. She was probably trying to think fast. But as I had plotted, she was caught off guard. She couldn't gather up an excuse quickly. My gaze on her made it even worse for her blink an eye freely, let alone come up with a believable lie. She slowly faced me when she eventually got the nerves to. ‘‘What truth? I mean…why is no one… drinking?’’ She stuttered, despite how much she tried to compose herself. “You know why. Spill!’’ I replied flatly, though my gaze on her said otherwise. She must be questioning herself inwardly, wondering if I found out about her grave secret already. But she's a champ at hiding her emotions, it was a little difficult trying to gauge her thoughts. Her shaky lips parted again, the curiosity to hear what it would say soared within me. But my hopes were shattered by the noise from the server’s entrance, quickly qu
Luther's POV She looked up to me slowly, and though I couldn't really see the look in her eyes through the dim light, I could tell solely that she had nothing but suspicion in them. Her question confirmed it all. I knew she was going to ask, she wasn't so dull. But I was not ready to disclose anything to her yet, I would make her wait and see for herself. ‘‘Luther…’’‘‘Now how are we going to find out if you don't get your round booty on a seat?’’ Devon cake at her, interrupting her speech and snatching my gaze to himself. “Language, Devon.’’ I came at him. I don't appreciate using such flirty words for my mate, it doesn't sit well with me. “Really? Whatever!’’ He rolled his eyes. ‘‘Lynn, sit, we have a lot to talk about.’’ I returned my gaze to her. I didn't know what was going on with her but I'm pretty sure fear was among them. “You wanted us to restore our brother bond right?’’ I started saying again, trying to ease the sudden tension in her.Even if I knew there was stil
Evelyn's POV I stepped out of the bathtub and went for my face towel, burying my face in it. I wiped my face before tying a larger towel around my chest. I stepped out of the bathroom to see Ember by my dressing table. I couldn't figure out what exactly she was onto by the table. She turned to me and a broad smile crawled onto her face. “C'mon, Luna.’’ She beckoned to me.A silent sigh escaped my lips as I started my way towards her. I still haven't been able to ask her anything. What if it happens to be related to her personal affairs or it has to do with her family life? Different thoughts keep haunting me, I couldn't ask her about it yet. Maybe if it happens again in my presence, then I will ask her. I sat in front of the mirror and she started blow drying my hair. “My lady, you've got a beautiful head of hair.’’ I heard her say and my gaze traveled to her in the mirror. She was smiling as usual as she focused on the hair.“Merit said it wasn't like this sometimes ago.’’ Sh
