Chapter 3

I had already guessed that the King wouldn’t take this likely. He was looking at me utterly speechless and a bit disappointed with a touch of sadness.

I didn't want him to feel bad, but I had to do what must be done. The book I read said when a wolf is yet to find her mate it is likely to go into a killing spree.

The feeling of longing overwhelmed me, dad should know better.

“Princess, you can't go out. The world is dangerous...”

“…there are wild creatures out there ready to kill you. Enough of it dad, sooner or later I’m likely to take over the throne and I don’t know my surroundings. I can fend for myself.” I replied, interrupting him. I was tired of him saying that every time I talked about leaving the palace.

Dad was feeling quite nervous as he walked to and fro, his fingers on his brows as he tried to sooth his worry.

“Your majesty…”

“Not now Grump. Leave us!” dad ordered

“Yes, your majesty,” he said, bowing down and walking out of the throne room.

“Please Dad, I'm not a kid anymore.”

“Caroline, you don’t understand.”

“Then make me!” my voice was already breaking, Ibwas on the brink of tears. Dad looked at me worriedly.

He wasn't ready to give in, i then thought of another idea that could make him agree.

“Let’s make a deal then” I said, fixing my posture with a serious gaze.

“A deal?” he asked

“Yes dad, give me six months to find myself, take a trip round the world and find my mate on my own. Then after that, I'll come back and stay by your side till you step down from the throne.” I said.

It wasn't the best of ideas but it sounded a bit convincing I guess.

“Caroline…” he called out in a soothing voice, not sure what to say.

“Six months? Anything could happen within those six months.”

“Yes, anything like finding my mate and exploring the world.” i said happily like a baby who was given their favorite toy.

“No, things like you getting yourself in danger Caroline.”

“Dad pleaseee it's just six months.”

“Sigh, Caroline, six months…it’s a bit hard for me.”

“Please dad,” I pouted, showing my most puppy dog face I learnt from my dog. I went close to him, giving him a hug.

“Please dad, I promise I will be safe.”

Well it did work dad had to give in.

“Alright Princess, just six months.” He said he wasn't too happy as I was about it. He already gave me his word.

“Thank you so much daddy.” I gave him a slight kiss on the cheeks which made him smile.

“Anything for my baby.”

“I’ll have to get my bags ready, I'll be leaving tomorrow then.”

“Tomorrow?”

“Yes dad, my time started counting the moment you gave me your word. I have six months, duhh.” I replied not fazed by what he had to say.

“Sigh, then at least you won't be leaving like this. You have to change your identity.”

“Huhh? Why should I?” I asked

Nobody would know me if I didn't introduce myself and since I believed I’ll be going alone.

“The world is dangerous and there are people ready to kill you at first sight. You have to remain safe, find your silly mate and get back here.” he replied

“Hmm, ok then” I said, rolling my eyes at the thought of it.

BLOOD MOON PACK

“Are you breaking up with me Ryland? After all we had been through. I really love you!” A female voice echoed in the dim lit cold concrete underground garage.

“That's Alpha Ryland to you, Rebecca.” he responded in his cold, husky and deep voice.

He didn't seem fazed about the romance confession said to him rather he leaned his hand on the window of his car as he rested his chin on it.

“Please Ryland, I love you so much it hurts. From the very moment I saw you.” Rebecca replied sounding so emotional.

“Sigh…is that all.” Ryland replied sounding so cruel.

“W-what?”

“What do you want, tell me?” Ryland asked.

“I want you Ryland, I’ve rejected princes and nobles and other Alphas who are ready to have me. Just for you. I want you, we have dated for three months now and you are yet to tell me how you feel about me.” she said.

“Then go meet other men. We are done.” he said nonchalantly with no trace of warmth in his voice.

“W-what? Why?” Rebecca was utterly confused.

“You should know better Rebecca, I don’t do love and never will.”

Rebecca busted out into tears sobbing, then a bulky man in black dragged her out into another car and zoomed off.

“Where next Alpha Ryland?” Beta Kai who sat at the drivers seat asked.

“To the pack house, I’m done for today.”

“Yes sir.” kaid nodded and drove off.

Alpha Ryland is the stoic, handsome yet most feared Alpha in the whole pack. He had great looks. He had inky black hair which always looked like it was combed with his hands. He had a strong defined masculine jawline. He was the definition of perfect beauty.

His dark pupil made his eyes seem hostile that made many wolves and people shrink with fear when they stared into it. It was what people called if looks could kill.

“Have you found her Alpha?” Kai asked, his eyes still fixed on the road.

“It will be a long search,”

Ryland was yet to find his destined mate for years, that was his only problem. Everyone else thought he had no problem just being mighty and killing wolves with a strike of his sword.

But beneath his strong facade he was melting inside. He needed to claim his mate to end his misery.

“Are you sure you don’t need the guards to go with you?” King Herod asked.

“No, dad. You said I should keep my identity a secret so having people go with me will create suspicions. I’ll keep in touch with you.”

Dad still looked like he was ready to convince me not to go but I wasn't going to hear that.

I was dressed up in plain clothes suited for a commoner, with plain black sandals beneath my feet. My hair was let loosed to make me blend with the normal people outside.

“I love you a lot princess, stay safe.” Dad asked giving me a kiss on my fore head.

“Love you too. I’ll get going before the day breaks.”

“Sure sure.”

I gave him his last hug till i return and walked out, some maids and guards were with me. They had to walk me out to the boundary between the kingdom and the other worlds.

As I stepped out I breathed in deeply. It was the air of freedom which filled my nostrils.

I was finally out of this beautiful prison and I won’t be going back till the next six months.
