Irina’s POV

The voice goes quiet, it was like I couldn’t even communicate on my own terms, I had to wait until they came to me, but it still knocks the air out of my lungs.

Kendra helps me home, asking me a million questions, questions that I just didn’t have the answers too.

“Come on Irina, for a wolf, you seem to be pretty weak” she didn’t mean it as an insult, she was concerned, I could see it in the way she looked at me.

Back inside Kendras small house, she fetches some iced water from the fridge. “You’re still not telling me something. Why are you like this? I haven’t ever seen a wolf so, so, so frail.”

“It’s probably the mate bond, it would have been different for you, you are human, but for me, I have been kept away from my mate for more than two years. My wolf isn’t even present.”

“That’s just too weird. Can your wolf just get up and leave you one day?”

I shrug my shoulders because I was starting to think that anything could be possible.
