Damien’s POV
If I had stayed, her anger levels would have risen. I could feel how much she hated answering my questions. I was not doing it to upset her, I was doing it to protect her, to learn as much as I could about her.
Irina was so angry when she shouted at me and unlike Vivian, I could feel the anger radiating off her like it was affecting me too. She was close to tears too.
I wanted to hug her. I wanted to tell her that everything would be okay. I just knew that it would not have been welcomed. Instead, I leave.
It was a lie, the crap she spun about helping her mom. If a house needed work, my father would sort it regardless of your status or rank. That was what a true Alpha did.
Irina obviously felt that she neede
Irina’s POV The guy startled me as he stepped out of the forest. His short blonde hair catches the light and his eyes are a strange grey colour. I automatically jump to my feet and sink into a crouching position, remembering everything my mother had taught me. He holds his hands up surrendering “Calm down. My name is Shaun. I’m the Beta of Black Crescent. I am here to participate in Alpha Damien’s ceremony tomorrow. Are you okay?” I don’t care if he is a Beta and warn him that he was on Lonecrown’s territory, he laughs and tells me that it is actually neutral ground and he points out the boundary lines which circle the hot spring. Shaun moves around the hot spring and wipes my tears from my
Damien’s POV I let go of Irina at the sound of Vivians voice. Shit! Shit! Shit! Tears were already overflowing from Vivian’s eyes, and I hurry over to her “Are you going to say something?” her irritating voice is squeaky as she tries to wipe the tears away. “You didn’t let me finish Vivian” “Finish what?” “I was telling Irina that I wanted her to behave. My father invited her and her mother here. That is all” I should have just told her the truth and ended our relationship but for some reason my father wanted me to marry her and not Irina. Plus I needed to find out why Vivian had been in my fathers office. It was not what I want
Irina’s POV It was becoming harder and harder to be around Damien. Any time I was near, his scent had my insides tied up in knots. I should never have hugged him. I don’t even know why I did it, I just felt overwhelmed in the moment. Taking my anger out on the tree helped. It wasn’t the first time I had punched a tree so much that it had snapped. You could find them all around the forest, it was what I would do when Vivian messed with my head. I just wish I could find the confidence to stand up to her! Of all people that my mate had to marry, why did it have to be her? Why did it have to be Vivian. As I run off deeper into the forest, I hear footsteps close behind. Stopping to see who was following me, I find Damien staring at me.
Damien’s POV Being around her was torture. Aiden was constantly shouting at me and on the verge of giving me a headache. As I run my thumb across her lip, I hold back the urge to kiss her. She really was beautiful but mostly I hold back because I didn’t want to get punched again. As my body brushes up against hers, I could feel every curve of her torso. The way her small breasts pushed up against me, the way her back arched pushing herself into me. Maybe she knew she was doing it, maybe she didn’t, but what I did know is that she was making it harder for me to stay away. “Damien, is Irina okay?” My fathers voice enters my head and I step away from Irina with a groan, he always managed to find a way to interrupt me at the most inconvenient time. I tell him that she is
Irina’s POVI was too confused to move. Nothing was making sense. The bright streetlights flickered in my eyes as I followed Damien across the dark grounds to the hospital. A trail of blood left from my mother as he carried her. A dagger stuck out of her chest.Everything is a blur. I couldn’t get things straight in my head. I had gone downstairs to grab a glass of water and mom was just lying there, unmoving. I had heard nothing, not a single sound to alert me that something was wrong.I vaguely remember throwing my body on top of hers. My tshirt soaking up some of her blood as it pooled around her. Damien appeared from nowhere, almost like he knew I needed him. He had to shout at me, but his words still sounded hazy.As I sit here in the hospital, I find my
Damien’s POV She was going to leave the pack! It made sense why Irina was saving money but I couldn’t let her leave the pack, I couldn’t let her leave me. Maybe if she got her revenge she would stay and we could be together. “Then kill her first” It was a risky suggestion, the words were out of my mouth before I had come up with a plan. I wouldn’t let Irina do it alone. It would give Irina the ultimate revenge. It would mean I could be with my mate. It would mean that she could stay. It would mean that the traitor is dead. Her eyes are wide as she stares at me, her mouth open in shock. “You… you… you want me to kill her?” I nod my head slightly. “Look what she did to your mom, look what she has done to you” “You want me to kill her?” I think she may still be in shock as she repeats her question I grab her hand “For this” I grab her hips and lift the tshirt a little showing the scar on her hip “For this”. My own anger was building inside of me as I realised how much my fian
Irina’s POV I couldn’t believe what he asked me to do. I didn’t have that kind of strength or guts to kill anyone. He was serious as he looked at me and as I held my mom’s hand and keep replaying our conversation over and over. My mom didn’t stir, her fingers didn’t even wrap around my hand as I squeezed hers. At some point the doctor appeared to check on my mom. He advised me to go home and get some rest. I tried to plead with him to let me stay but he was adamant. Before I leave, I make the doctor promise me that he will call me if there is any changes. Until I was eighteen I had to rely on phone calls, only my mom and the Alpha could mind link me. He agrees and ushers me out the door. I walk across the empty grounds. Damien’s scent is all over me from his tshirt a
Damien’s POV She does not answer me, her honey eyes wide as she stares at me, her jaw dropping. I could smell her arousal as she looks into my eyes, her body tenses up as she clamps her legs together. I had never wanted someone as much as I wanted her. “Say it Irina” I could feel it, she wanted me just as much I hear her heart speed up as I inch closer to her, her breathing becomes heavier, and she suddenly throws herself against me. Irina stands on her tiptoes to kiss me. She presses her lips against mine with passion and so much desire, something I had never felt before. The sparks between us were intense. Her body curves into mine as I hold her, my hands resting against her lower back. She was a perfect fit for me and only me.
Ten years later.Irina's POV"I'm here mom, let's get it over with." Logan rolls his purple eyes at me as he settles in a chair. It was his eighteenth birthday and just like Damien and I had promised all those years ago, we never missed a birthday. The older he got, the more he looked like Damien, he had filled out quite well and was no longer a skinny kid, spending alot of his free time in the gym or training. Or rather, he was constantly training, like he was preparing himself for something. There had been a few threats over the years, but nothing as bad as what we experienced in his younger years. Kendra made sure of that, putting a protection spell over the entire pack. The only other time she used her witch powers, ."Just wait for your father and the twins please." I smile at him and he rolls his eyes again. "Mom, they won't mind, besides Seth is waiting for me, were going out to celebrate.""Please Logan, its a tradition."His purple eyes pierce my own and his annoyance turn
Irina’s POVThe last thing I saw was a blinding light, I couldn’t tell where it came from and then hands found me, lifting me up. My head hurt, is this what it was like to be human now, to not have a wolf, everything hurt a hundred times more than it used to. Even worse than when that bitch Vivian stabbed me.That was so long ago, a lot had happened since then. Visions of my life flash in front of me, all the bad and good but there was one constant, Damien. He was there in the background of my memories until the darkness seeped in.My head throbbed as I turned it. Logan was laid in the bed with Damien, his bed right next to mine but Logan had an arm outstretched and was holding my hand as he slept. Lily and Lacey were no where to be seen.“How are you feeling?”I didn’t realise Damien was awake and watching me, he had more wires connected to him then I had but it didn’t take the smile away from his face, the smile that I had fallen in love with.I groan as I try to move, everything wa
Damien’s POVI hear her stutter behind me, Irina was trying to get out some words, but nothing was coming. I glance down at Logan who is still trying to figure out what was happening. I don’t think even as a child that he had heard of the Blood Pack.“Logan, go to your room.”“But Dad, I want to know what’s happening!”“Logan, I said go!” I change my tone and he scarpers out the room, leaving the five of us staring at each other.“You were raised in the Blood Pack?” Liam asks, shocked by the information, “You told me you grew up down south in a large family!”Kendra looks at her feet, folding her arms across her chest, clenching her jaw. “Technically I did. The Blood Pack use to live down South, until the witches pushed them out. We were given a choice, to join the witches coven or to stay with Blood Pack.”“How did you even end up in the Blood Pack?” Irina finally finds some words.Kendra shrugs. “They were our family!”I watch as Tiana rolls her eyes at her sister, “You really are s
Irina’s POVTiana steps inside, not waiting for an invite. Logan hides behind me, his hand wrapped tightly around my wrist. It wasn’t like him to show how scared he was, he was normally so confident. Kendra had been right about Tiana’s eyes though, a perfect shade of sky blue, they looked a little out of place against her dark skin, but she was beautiful.“Tiana, we haven’t made a decision yet.” Damien mutters, his eyes drifting towards me and Logan.“You didn’t need to; I was told of the decision!”“Huh?” we all speak in unison, there had been no chance for anyone to say anything. Raine had ruined everything before we had had a chance to do anything, but now she was gone.“The Guardians. You should know Damien; they watch over everything.” She smirks a little as her eyes settle on Logan and my own grip tightens on him.Her head turns as she looks around the room, the table and chairs were scattered, Raine had thrown them out of her way. It was still an odd feeling, not being able to
Irina’s POVI couldn’t stop, there was nothing I could do to prevent her from coming. Raine’s anger overthrows my own, not only had I been lied too, but Raine had been lied too as well, the thing she hated most in the world, and there wasn’t a single chance that she was going to let Kendra off lightly. All I could do was try and slow her down, try and stop her from acting out for as long as I was able.I hear Damien’s voice, trying to catch my attention but it did nothing to help, all it did was anger Raine further and I started to lose what little control I had over her as her voice comes forward instead of mine.“You lied to us!” Raine roars and I try to speak, but it was like she had taken over completely, like she was at the front of us, and I was drifting to the back, becoming the bystander.I can see Kendra backing away, she had no way of protecting herself and I’m grateful when Damien tries to block our path, putting himself between us and her.“Raine, stand down!” He growls at
Damien’s POV“You do?” I was suspicious and understandably so. Kendra hadn’t taken any time to discuss it, all she had done was look at her friend as Irina apologised and agreed with what we were asking. She nods her head, “You guys always think things happen for a reason.” She looks over at Liam, “What is it you always say, ‘it’s what the Moon Goddess intended.”I look at Liam too, he was one of the few remaining wolves that believed in that, many others now believed in their own fates and your own actions were what made it.Liam bows his head to me. “Alpha, she has made her decision and we will do what you ask, for the benefit of the pack right?”“For the benefit of the pack.” I agreed and Liam wipes away Kendra’s tears.I was still suspicious though and if it had been the other way around, I don’t think I or Irina would have given up looking for the children.“If you are certain, I will give the witch a call!”Irina’s hand tightens around mine, she hated talking about the witch, mo
Damien’s POVTiana wouldn’t give me any details as to why she wanted us to stop looking for Lana. In fact, she made it very clear that it was non-negotiable. I had made the call first thing that morning when Irina had gone on a run. I didn’t need to look for her when I woke, it was clear what she was up to by her missing running trainers. Now she was being forced to choose between her best friend and her son.“Irina we have time.”She shakes her head at me when I tell her Tiana’s offer, “We don’t though do we; you see how Logan is getting, lately everything winds him up, he killed someone because he had had enough of them, that’s not normal child behaviour, even for a wolf!”“You are over thinking Irina, but you know as well as I do that this could destroy your friendship.”Tears fill her eyes as she fights between her decision. I was willing to make it for her but at the same time she probably knew what I would say.“I will call Kendra and Liam, ask them over for dinner tonight.” She
Irina’s POVI could hardly sleep. Damien tries several times to pull me against him, but it was no use, I was agitated, worried about our family. Several times I sneak out of our bedroom and into Logan’s, just to watch him sleep. It would be his birthday in a couple of days, and we had promised to take him bowling along with a few of his friends and the girls, but I had a bad feeling about it.“Irina, come back to bed.” Damien’s hands rub the back of my neck, trying to ease the tension and as I relax into it, Logan stirs, making us both jump and quietly slip out towards our bedroom, we had become wary of our own son and we both knew it.“We can’t let him do this to us Irina.”“I just… I just don’t know what to expect.”“Maybe that’s the problem, maybe we are always waiting for the bad stuff. Maybe we should try and let him live a normal life, not constantly be on top of him.”I nod my head as I bite my bottom lip while climbing into bed and try to settle down to sleep. Damien pulls me
Damien’s POVI couldn’t ask Logan to do such a thing and what if he did it and it turned up nothing, everything would have been a waste of time, thankfully Irina understood that I didn't want him to use his abilities. The girls come running in and jump up to me, I loved all the hugs they gave. Since Logan had grown, he didn’t want the hugs as much and preferred a fist bump.“Daddy, come play” they speak in unison, their deep green eyes piercing my own as they grinned and as I lower them to the ground, they tug at my hands, as I allow them to pull me out towards their room.Turning the corner, the girls scream as we come face to face with Logan. Irina comes running out and grabs Logans hands, dropping to her knees as she tries to pull him from his trance. His eyes were a solid white and I call for an omega to take the girls. We hadn’t seen Logan like this in years.“Logan!”He doesn’t respond and Irina goes into panic mode, tears streaming down her face as she whispers ‘don’t do this’
