Over the next week, we fell into a good pattern. As much as I hated mornings it was good to get up and get some schoolwork and studying done. The boys took turns, two would go to training and the other would hang back with me and get some of their paperwork done while I was doing my things.
In the afternoons we’d go for runs in our wolf forms together, spend some time together or tend to pack related things and then we’d have time just for us, which usually consisted of not leaving our bed, and trying to go to bed early enough for them not to have to drag me out of it in the morning.
When Dez was back, I got him to shift and meet us so I could finally see his wolf, Flint. Flint was fairly large, but not as large as me or the boys, and was grey in colour with dark brown eyes. It made sense after being around a few shifted wolves this week that Alaric was
“...I thought I’d surprise you,” he smirked, “but it looks like you couldn’t wait.” My eyes couldn’t believe it, my ears couldn’t believe it, Ryan was here. His blonde hair swooped in the same way as his familiar blue eyes were staring back at me. My whole body just stood there frozen and unable to compute what was going on as he grabbed my elbow and led me into the alley around the side of the flower shop. “I’ve missed you so much Brianna, I tried and tried to call and message you but people kept getting in the way,” he set the roses he was carrying down on a small ledge by us and picked my hands up with his own. “I was hoping when I found you you’d be alone so we could talk for a minute, I know I messed up, I know I said things that you shouldn’t forgive me for, but please Baby, forgive me. I love you so
“Of course not,” my reply was instant, and a sick feeling rose up in my throat, “I never really loved him to begin with, I love you more than I could imagine ever being able to love anyone, I am yours.”Wyatt claimed my lips aggressively before he walked back over to Ryan and delivered a solid blow to the side of his face. The punch itself sounded on contact, a solid thud that sounded like it cracked multiple things, smashing Ryan’s face against the brick wall as it flew into it and blood spewed from his mouth. Alaric was studying my face for any reaction, but he wouldn’t get one. Ryan deserved a few solid punches and I hoped that they would stop there, but if I reacted, they most certainly wouldn’t.Alaric dragged Ryan a bit down the alley, more out of sight, and Xander left my side to join him and Wyatt. Xander
“I did,” I pressed my face back into Alaric's chest as I confirmed that I received Orion's mind-link from earlier, “I really appreciate everything you guys do for me, I’m sorry you guys had to deal with that today.”“We would have dealt with it permanently Brianna,” Alaric lifted my chin to meet his eyes, “you shouldn’t have had to deal with his harassment, whether he thought you had mates or not.”“I don’t want people being killed Alaric, not unless it’s the last resort,” he looked at me and was trying to study my face as he listened, “he has parents, people who would miss him, besides,” I smirked and slid myself onto his lap backwards as we pulled up to the house, pressing my forehead to his, “it’s not his fault that I’m so irresistible.”&nb
UNKNOWN POV CON’T “Come in,” my brother’s voice boomed through his office door when I knocked, “sit Emma, we don’t have much time to discuss this.” He seemed more stressed out than normal when I sat in a chair across from his desk, but his Beta and my father were standing off to the side discussing something else in hushed whispers, stopping only when my brother began to explain things to me. “We had a visitor late last night, he informed us of some troubling information about the pack you are betrothed to,” he paused and glanced towards our father who was still hovering over my brother’s decision’s since he took over as Alpha, “it seems as though they have found and marked their mate, regardless of their promise to you, to us.” I sat with a face bereft of emotion, but truly inside I was happier than I ever
BRIANNA’S POV‘There are two Alpha’s, their Beta’s and a Gamma and a Luna at the border requesting entry,’ I was sitting on Wyatt’s lap finishing breakfast when Orion linked us. The boys all stiffened in their seats, exchanging a look of worry, ‘Alpha Kallan, and Alpha Theodore want to stress the importance of their visit.’‘Let them pass, escort them to the house,’ Alaric answered him back for all of us to hear before they ended breakfast abruptly and took me upstairs to get changed into something more appropriate for greeting them in.“Do you think it’s bad that Octavia is back?” I asked th
“We’ll fix this,” Xander broke the silence. “I hope Octavia can help,” my voice was timid, “I don’t want to put the pack or any of us in danger.” “We knew this was coming Brianna,” Alaric lifted my chin to look at him, “we just thought we’d have more time.” “The pack is ready Sugar,” Wyatt snugged up behind me, “they wouldn’t think twice about protecting you with their life, and neither would we. If they force our hand, their Alpha will fall and their pack will become ours.” “We have to go soon, the guards will all be gathering and waiting on us,” Alaric kissed me gently. “Ok, let’s just go,” I sighed, “I don’t want to just sit around here,” the boys looked at me like they were holding something back, “tell me.”
ALARIC’S POV We were finishing up walking Kallan and Theodore around the area that Moon Valley would most likely enter, plotting out where it would be best to have everyone positioned, when I could feel Brianna’s pain building. Xander was with her, but I knew she would be worrying and stressing over what tomorrow would bring. "We have to get back to our Luna," Wyatt interrupted, he was almost in as much pain being away from her, which he was going to have to get a hold of for tomorrow. "Octavia has requested to talk with you in private Alpha Alaric," Alpha Kallan's voice was still so monotone, "I understand, however, if you'd like to get back to your Luna first but she's insisting its important before tomorrow." "I'll come now," I went with him as Wyatt headed
WYATT’S POV As soon as I walked in the door her scent hit me. She was standing with Xander but once she saw me her eyes lit up and she came to me, slamming into me with a force that had Narvi practically jumping for joy. “I missed you too Sugar,” I smirked at her as I pushed her up against the wall and claimed her perfect lips as mine. My chest rumbled as her jasmine scent drove me wild, it pumped me full of energy as her sexy sandalwood scent made me want to rip her clothes off and taste that sweet honey-filled arousal. “Where’s Alaric,” she pouted as I kissed down her neck. “We’ll get you warmed up,” I slipped my hand up her shirt and massaged her perfect breast. “No,” she surprised me as she pushed my hand

“Today?” Xander’s tone was bordering on angry in his surprise, making the twins squirm. “Tell us,” Alaric was surprisingly calm, and I was hoping that it was his genuine emotion. “We want them all to be raised together don’t we?” I asked and they all nodded immediately, “No differences? Because if that’s changed, you need to tell me right now.” “No differences Precious,” Xander was back to being himself, “that’s what we decided and nothing has changed. We want them to be raised together, rule together, and for everyone to regard the new Phoenix as a member of the royal family.” “Right,” Alaric picked up the conversation, “only our parents and Second’s will know that they are a Phoenix until we can’t keep it a secret any longer.”
“Dezzy… you better link some people,” Logan was scooping under my arms to keep me upright as Dez took in what was happening, trying to take me to the couch. “I’m NOT sitting,” I half snapped out. “Logan, go wait outside please,” Dez looked a bit terrified, “you don’t want to be anywhere near her when the kings get back.” “I’m not… I’m not ready Dez,” the tears started to roll down my face. “You’re strong Love, you-” “NO!” I interrupted him as another wave of pain started to creep around my stomach, “Connor…” I tried to wipe my tears before the boys got back, “I didn’t think it was going to be this hard to let him go, and he’s not even gone yet.” “Love,” Dez grasp
** 9 months later** “It’s hard to believe I found out I was a royal a year ago already,” I smirked up at Connor as we watched the sun slip behind the trees. “I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a grasp on time,” Connor kissed the top of my head as he continued to brush through my wet hair from behind me, his legs perched on either side of me as we sat staggered on the steps. I would miss this, I would miss him, and an annoyingly familiar pressure started to build in my chest. “I’m not ready,” I could feel the tears building in my eyes, not a huge surprise lately, it felt like that’s all I ever did was cry. “You are,” Connor tilted my chin up to look at him, “you’re going to be an amazing mother Brianna, and the next Phoenix couldn’t have lucked out better havi
“Shh Sugar, you’re ok, we’re here,” he lifted my chin and locked eyes with me, his golden hues grounding me and his sparks soothed me, “she doesn’t need you right now Artemis.”Alaric and Xander surrounded me, the perfect storm of my mates back in place as I let their scents bring me back to safety. Connor’s fire was nothing compared to Alaric’s. His smokiness filled my senses and drifted through me as it connected with Xander’s warmth and Wyatt’s sweet dew that lifted my mood.‘Tell us,’ Alaric linked the four of us.‘I don’t know where to start,’ I let my hands drift up Wyatt’s shirt, and he pulled it off so
“I know it’s a lot to ask,” Connor started with a pained look spreading across his features, and he stared between the boys, “but Brianna being my Keeper is nothing sexual in nature. My phoenix is losing his shit wanting to feel her touch, they are super affectionate creatures and she’s connected to us, may I?” He held out his hand but the boys hesitated, “Would it be better if he was in shifted form? Once I shift back we can discuss what being my Keeper means.”“Shifted,” Wyatt grit out through his clenched teeth. I could tell that he could feel the pull as well, but him and Alaric were having a harder time reconciling that information than Xander was.“Close your eyes Doll,” Connor winked at me as he started undressing, “or don’t,” he laughed wildly as the boys sco
** Two months after the council meeting ** “Bob Ross would be proud Dearest,” I smirked over at Alaric as I caught a glimpse at his sketch. He was surprisingly talented, although I wasn’t sure I was surprised anymore. It seemed like everything he set his mind to, he became talented in. His level of control and perfectionism coupling his desire to master things perfectly. “I very much doubt that my Dear,” he smirked at me, “but thank you,” he leaned over and kissed the side of my head. I loved these moments with him, where we laid on a blanket over the grass on our stomachs, sketching the tree line and he was relaxed and casual. “We’re about to be interrupted,” I whispered, and without warning Alaric tackled me into the grass, crashing his lips against mine in such a hot, wild, mess that had me moaning
“I assume you’re all familiar with each other at this point,” Wyatt started as soon as the door had closed, “we have a matter to discuss before you are released.” Several of them rearranged themselves to sit next to one another leaving space for me and the boys to sit together with them at the table.“Alpha Samuel is on-premise,” Xander took over, “he denied our right to take our Goddess-given mate as our Luna over our betrothal agreement to the extent of bringing a war to our territory.”“He demanded we kill our mate,” Alaric had a hard time gritting that sentence out, “we have since stripped him of his Alpha status and placed him in the care of Alpha Jason of Red Rock, a smaller pack that borders Moon Valley.”“Speak freely,&
