Chapter 30: A Father's Desperation

(Leo Bloodstone POV)

An hour later, Beta Landon walked into the alpha office. I was seated behind the desk while my father was seated in a chair to the side. Beta Landon gave us both a slight bow and then sat down.

I had mixed feelings about seeing him. On one hand, I knew he was Piper’s father. I also knew from my research and interviews that he had been good to Piper, and Piper loved him a lot.

On the other hand, he had yet to produce his daughter for marriage like he had promised. More importantly, his secrets —and his pack’s secrets— made him my enemy.

I decided to dispense with small talk and get immediately to the point.

“Why are you here?” I asked bluntly.
