“No, Raina. You’re mistaken.”

”I am not!” she sat upright and gasped again. “The first time I had challenged you… you weren’t acting along.” Another gasp. “Tone is also a werewolf. I dated a werewolf!” She screamed. “WEREWOLVES ARE ACTUALLY REAL!”

I slapped my hand to her mouth. “Be quiet. You’re being too loud.”

She smacked my hand off. “So I’m right?”

“No! You’re not. Nobody is a werewolf. I think the breakup has gotten to you too hard. You're rambling nonsense.”

She frowned. “Don’t you dare call me insane. I know what I’m saying and you know it’s true. Don’t try to make me sound foolish. Why are you hiding it from me?”

“Stop it, Raina!” I raised my voice.

“Raising your voice wouldn’t change the truth.”

“There’s no truth. I have no idea what you’re talking about. You’re misunderstanding everything. Maybe Blade meant something else.”

“You’re lying, and I know that. You’re all werewolves!” She dug her hand into her hair. “What am I supposed to do? I have to tell someone. This is big.

~ LYRIC ~ School was finally over. This meant I could finally meet Pat’s granny. Hanging my backpack over my shoulder, I checked out of the hotel. Yes, a hotel. I had lodged in a hotel to avoid Raina at all costs. Today, we had to check out of our dorms, so I had made Brian hire people to help me pack. Raina had called me a billion times and every time made my heart skip a beat, so I completely ignored it. “Hello? Are you still there?” Brian snapped me out of my train of thoughts. “Y-yes, sorry about that.” I apologized, shifting in my cab. “Where are you now?” He asked. “What do you mean?” “You asked me to hire people to pack for you and you’re not here yet. Do you need me to pick you up?” “No!” I quickly responded, and pursed my lips in regret. I just had to make things suspicious.“Are you…okay?” He asked. “Yes, absolutely. I am.” I let out a harsh breath. “I’m at a girls’ hangout. We’re hanging out to celebrate the end of the semester. I’ll be with you right after.”“Oka

~ LYRIC ~I walked up to meet Brian, giving him a really tight hug. My heart was racing heavily and I couldn’t quite figure out why. “Do you really have to go?” I asked. “Yes. Why do you keep forgetting that I’m the Alpha. Please be strong. This is one of many wars I’d have to go to. Please,” he pulled away and cupped my face, “brace yourself up.”“But Brian,” I held his hands, giving them a tight squeeze. “Can’t you at least wait this one out or postpone it.” “No, I can’t. That’s too dangerous.” He smiled. “You’re overthinking it.”“I promise you I'm not. Why wouldn’t you just listen to me? I don’t have a good feeling about this at all.” “It’ll be fine.” He chuckled. A knock came on the door and Jordan poked his head through the crack of the door. “Alpha, we need to leave now. It’s starting soon.” “Okay, got it.” When Jordan left, he leaned down to kiss me. "I love you." "I love you too." My voice cracked. I stared into his soul, hoping he could read my eyes and tell that somet

It had been four days since I had been back home, and Mom's cough was still as painful to hear as it had been the first time I heard it. However, she insisted on not going to the doctor. Also, she was being super nice to me and that scared the heck out of me. What happened to the yelling and cursing at me? Blaming me for every problem in her life? Tone's number was dialed on my phone, yet I couldn't bring myself to call. He cheated on Raina and I was mad at him, but it felt beyond that. I couldn't bring myself to call him anymore because It felt like I had wronged him. I needed to talk to him about Mom but my approach to him lately had been too harsh. He might not want to talk to me anymore."He's the one at fault. Why am I feeling bad for him?" I canceled his number from my dial screen and called Brian instead . "Helllo, baby." He said, requesting to switch to video call which I immediately did. As usual, he looked like the finest piece of cake. His stubble had grown a bit and his

~ RAINA ~ Lyric, completely unreachable. Dad questioned my whereabouts daily. Tone, forever bothering me. Blade, nowhere to be found. Focusing on Blade, since he confirmed we were mates, he wasn't answering my calls. He had completely disappeared from the campus. I knew only a few students still stayed on campus after school ended, so I wasn't hoping to find him soon. "I can't believe I have to wait the entire summer till I meet Blade again. That turkey. Why would he just run off?" I sighed, not bothering that I was talking to myself, out loud. I stopped and gasped. "What if he transfers?" A girl walking beside me cast an irritated glance at me and walked off. No way! I had to reach Lyric to beg her to make Blade talk to me. Werewolves are actually real? I pondered on that, grinning that I had reached a big discovery. Suddenly, I bumped into a hard figure that was running from the corner. "Ouch," I whined and lifted my gaze to meet Blade. "You!" I squealed. He wanted to res

~ LYRIC~ Yet again, another raspy cough.my ears were starting to get used to my Mom's cough, and it was uncomfortable. "Come see this," she said, then cleared her throat. "It's a letter from the old pack." "What do you mean?" I walked up to her and glanced at the brown envelope she was holding. It was indeed a letter from our old pack. "What the heck do they want now?" I scoffed. "I don't know. Open it." She passed it. "Why me?" "It specifically says 'To Lyric'." She said, pointing at the label on the envelope. "Oh," I chuckled and ripped it open, revealing the long letter. "It says:"Greetings to the Ashton family, especially to you, Ms. Lyric Ashton. It's our pleasure to write this letter to you and to have you read it. We hope you are doing fine and well. It has been seven years now, and we have been actively searching for you. We have never ceased our search for you. After you left, our pack lost a true gem. We have tried to find answers and our answers revealed that Ro

The Humidity around me suddenly became unbearable as it was hit and it felt like I couldn't breathe. With my face squeezed up, I opened my eyes, glancing around and realized I was tied up to a chair in a white-walled room. Mom was also tied on the other side of the room, hee neck dropping sideways. "Mom!" I whispered at first just when there was no response, I called out loud, "Mom!" She flinched then her eyes slowly fluttered till they opened. She glanced around in confusion, taking in the view of her surroundings till her gaze met me. “Wh-what’s happening? Where am I ? Why are we here?” She wondered“It’s our old pack, I believe.” WHen I said that, her face turned pale. She began trying to pull her wrist out of the ropes, grunting, but to no avail. “I think they’re awake.” Someone announced, and the door was kicked open. Suddenly, multiple men ran in, some of their faces were familiar, and some were not. Then, the Alpha, Jeremy, walked in, an awkward grin on his face. “Well

~ LYRIC ~ "Mom, I still can't believe that happened to me!" I sat on her bed, clearly shoving my butt in her comfort zone. "I know. I can't believe it either, but get off my bed, I need to sleep!" She pushed me aside, pulling the duvet up to her chest. "No! This is big, big news!" I tugged at her duvet. “I know.”“You’re not acting like you do. Did you see how I took all of them down? Mom, even the Alpha.” I shook her shoulders."Why are you acting like a toddler again? Get off me!" She groaned and kicked me off till I landed butt flat on the floor. "Ouch, Mom!" I laughed, rising up. "Get out of my room. Am I your only friend? Get yourself a boyfriend or something!" She said and covered herself with a duvet. "That's right! I have a husband. I don't know why I bother talking to you anyway." I huffed and walked out. I heard her footsteps run to the door then she locked it. Rolling my eyes, I headed to my room, called Brian, and told him all about what had happened. "That's so

~ RAINA ~ My hands were tied to a chair in the middle of what looked like a basement. I tried to rip the ropes with the force of my tug, but to no avail. The door opened and Blade strutted in, typing away on his phone. "Dude, are you crazy?" I spat, reading his attention from his phone. "What do you think this is? A movie. How dare you abduct me and tie me like this?" "Why not? You insisted on following me around and kept blabbering about age old secrets. What did you expect? We laugh it off and move on? It doesn't work that way! You'll be here till I find out what to do with you." His voice was so cold like winter in the south. It made me shiver. I had never heard him speak this sternly before. "We-well, you better let me go. My Dad is very rich and influential. If he finds out I'm missing, he'll stop at nothing to find me and you'll be in big trouble." He just stared at me like I was a gullible child, and said nothing. I had to switch my methods. "Okay, please. I'm begging y

  • Mated To my Professor   EPILOGUE

It was the day I had been waiting for, the day I had worked so hard to reach. My graduation day. I stood in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection as I adjusted my cap and gown. A sense of accomplishment washed over me, but it was mixed with bittersweetness. The road to this moment had been nothing like I imagined. The journey had been full of unexpected turns—love, loss, battles, and triumphs. In the early days after Brian’s coma, when I learned I was pregnant, I never thought I’d make it to this moment, let alone have my son with me by my side. The idea of balancing motherhood with my education had seemed impossible. But here I was, with my son, my husband, and my pack—ready to take the next step in life, even though I knew it wouldn’t be easy.I smiled softly at my reflection, adjusting my gown one last time. My son, only two years old now, was already napping peacefully in his crib, a reminder of how much had changed in such a short time. Brian had been there for me every s

  • Mated To my Professor   Chapter 116

The first day back in classes felt so unreal. The energy of the students buzzed through the air—laughter, conversations, the occasional groan about assignments—but none of it truly reached me. Not with everything that had happened. Not with everything that still weighed on my mind.Brian walked beside me, his presence a steady force, but even he felt different. Stronger. More protective. As if he could sense what was coming. And he wasn’t wrong.'Goodbye, my love.' He said through mind link, causing my cheeks to flush red. 'Goodbye, my love.' I mind linked back and giggled loud, earning side eyes from two of the girls about to enter my classroom as well. The moment I stepped into my first lecture hall, Professor Jenna’s cold gaze landed on me.Jenna… jeez. How could I forget this witch?A woman who should’ve been nothing more than an ordinary professor, but she wasn’t. She had a fixation on Brian, one she had never hidden well. Before the war, before everything, I had ignored it. Br

  • Mated To my Professor   Chapter 115

~ LYRIC ~ The ray from the sun shone through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the pack house, casting golden light over the polished wood floors. I stretched my arms above my head, breathing in the sweet fresh morning air as I gazed out over the training grounds. Warriors were practicing, their movements sharp and precise, but today wasn’t about war or battles.Today was about something far more terrifying:School. Yup, you heard that right. I gotta go back to school. I had almost forgotten that the rest of the world hadn’t stopped when Brian was in a coma, when I was learning to rule, when I had been fighting to hold our pack together. But time had moved forward, and now it was time for me to return to the life I had before I became Luna. Not that I minded.I loved being Luna.I loved the power, the responsibility, the feeling of belonging to something greater than myself. The pack respected me. They trusted me. I had spent the past few weeks proving that I wasn’t just Brian’s wife—

  • Mated To my Professor   Chapter 114

~ LYRIC ~Two weeks had passed. It had been. Two whole weeks. Two gruesome weeks. Two weeks of Brian laying in the hospital with no medical diagnosis. No treatment possible because no identifiable problem. It had been Two weeks of ruling without him. Yes, on the bright side, the pack had completely defeated the enemy and wiped out all of them, thanks to my power (not to brag or anything), so I had been leading the pack as Luna completely, with help from Jordan. Poor Jordan was mourning the murder of his beloved. It broke my heart for him, but Anna got what she deserved. It had been two weeks of waking up alone, staring at the empty space beside me where Brian should have been. Two weeks of trying to be strong while my heart ached in ways I never thought possible.Brian was still in a coma. My mother, too.The healers said their conditions were stable—alive, breathing—but that wasn’t enough. Not for me.Every day, I carried the weight of my pack on my shoulders. I made decisions, I

  • Mated To my Professor   Chapter 113

~ LYRIC ~I couldn’t speak— speaking was too much. I couldn't breathe. Brian’s body lay limp in my arms, his warmth slipping away with every second that passed. My hands were soaked in his blood, trembling as I pressed them against the wound that should have never been there. This wasn’t how it was supposed to end. Not at all. What was all that stupid prophecy of saving him about? I had tried all I could, summoned all the power I could find, yet I couldn't heal him quickly. A violent storm of emotions built inside me—rage, grief, desperation—twisting and churning until my body couldn’t contain it anymore. I wanted to explode. Watching the love of my life grow cold and pale in front of me was a sight that stabbed my soul. "I would not let this happen!" I growled and rose up, his pool of blood dripping from me. "No! I screamed."I would not let this happen. A throat wrecking scream tore from my throat, shaking the very ground beneath me. My power exploded outward in a bright

  • Mated To my Professor   Chapter 112

~ LYRIC ~I woke to the sound of gunfire. The sharp, jarring cracks destroyed the peaceful silence of the night, sending a jolt of terror through me. I sat up so fast that the blankets wrapped around my legs scratched my skin, my heart thundering in my chest.Beside me, Brian was already moving. Clearly, someone had experience in years of war and survival that had trained him well because he didn’t hesitate, he didn’t freeze, he didn’t seem fazed. He grabbed his armor and weapons from the bedside, his body tense with readiness.“What’s happening?” I breathed, throwing off the cover and getting off the bed to match his speed. His eyes were already scanning the darkened room, his jaw clenched. “We’re under attack.”Another round of gunfire exploded outside, followed by the distant shouts of warriors and the sickening sounds of metal meeting flesh. My stomach twisted. I was growing tired of this whole war nonsense and just couldn't wait for it to end . We barely had time to pull on o

  • Mated To my Professor   Chapter 111

“They are here!” A guard announced.I didn’t have time to panic. My vision had given me an advantage, but that advantage would mean nothing if I didn’t act now. The enemy was coming, and they were coming fast.I stood straight ignoring the way my body still trembled from the strain of seeing through time. I forced my voice to be steady, authoritative. I was Luna. They needed to hear confidence, not fear.“Jordan ,” I said, my tone fierce. “Gather everyone. Now.”He hesitated for a while before nodding and rushing off to sound the alarm.Minutes later, the war room filled with warriors, guards, and pack leaders. Their eyes were wide, their bodies tense. They knew something was coming.I took my place at the center of the room, armed with full armor and a gun for myself. .“The enemy is on their way,” I announced. “They’ve taken Alpha Brian as a distraction, hoping we’d be too broken to fight back. But we will fight back. And we will win.”A murmur ran through the crowd as they digested

  • Mated To my Professor   Chapter 110

~ RAINA ~I never should have agreed to this crap. Fake dating Blade was supposed to be easy. A simple arrangement. No emotions, no expectations—just a mutual agreement to keep up appearances. He needed to make Lyric jealous, and I… Well, I wasn’t sure what I was getting out of it anymore. It was initially for the sake of research, but I had barely done any research here. It was all just war, war, war. . At first, it was fun. Blade had a way of making things exciting, always pulling me into his world of effortless confidence and easy charm. I told myself it didn’t matter that he was still hopelessly in love with Lyric. That his eyes always followed her when she was in the room. That I was just a placeholder in whatever game he was playing. But then, somewhere along the way, I started wanting more. I realized it today when I saw the way he looked at her, even when she was barely holding herself together. We were at the training grounds when he spotted her. Lyric stood off to

  • Mated To my Professor   CHapter 109

~ LYRIC ~I stretched my legs across the couch, letting out a satisfied sigh as I sank deeper into the cushions. The warm scent of my mother’s cinnamon tea spread through the air, blending with the soft crackling of the fireplace. It was one of those rare, peaceful nights—one where the world outside didn’t seem so chaotic, and all that mattered was the quiet comfort of home. Tone sat across from me, one arm draped over the back of the chair, his face relaxed for once. For some reason, tonight, he looked… happy. Maybe even at peace. Mom was laughing at something he said, her voice light and full of warmth. I didn’t even catch the joke, but I smiled anyway, just glad to be here with them. In the midst of the war, I could still sit and enjoy a nice family time. “This tea is perfect,” I said, wrapping my fingers around the warm mug. “Mom, I swear, you should bottle this up and sell it. You’d make a fortune.” She chuckled, shaking her head. “It’s not that big of a deal. I just use a l
