Valerie's POV

I try to remember anything, but my mind is a complete blank. My head is pounding, and I feel like I've been running for days, but my legs won't move. I'm so tired, so exhausted.

I lie back on the bed, trying to calm my racing thoughts. But every time I close my eyes, I see flashes of images I can't explain. A forest, a pack of wolves, a figure standing over me. Who is that man? And why do I feel like I know him?

I groan, my head aching even more. Why can't I remember anything? It's like my mind is a puzzle, and I'm missing all the pieces.

I throw off the covers and get out of bed, determined to find some answers. But as I stand up, the room spins around me, and I stumble. I'm so tired, so stressed. I feel like I'm losing my mind.

I make my way to the door, hoping to find Helios and demand some answers. But as I reach for the handle, I feel a wave of exhaustion wash over me. I can't do this. I need to rest.

I collapse onto the bed, my head spinning. I'm so clueless, so lo

Helios's POVI let out a deep sigh, feeling the weight of my responsibilities slowly lifting off my shoulders. Being the Alpha of the pack was a demanding job, but it was moments like these that made it all worth it.I settled into the plush couch, resting my head against the soft cushions. The fresh air in the room was a welcome respite from the tension that had been building up inside me. I closed my eyes, letting the gentle breeze carry away the stress of the day.As I sat there, I couldn't help but think about the events that had transpired recently. The pack was growing stronger, and our alliances were solidifying. But with great power comes great challenges, and I knew that our enemies were gathering, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.I pushed those thoughts aside, focusing on the present moment. The warmth of the sun on my face, the sound of birds chirping outside, and the gentle hum of the air conditioner all blended together to create a sense of peace. For now, I just

Away from Helios, away from the truth, away from the pain.Tears streamed down my face as I ran, my vision blurring. I felt like I'd been punched in the gut, like all the air had been sucked out of me.That bitch, I thought, my mind racing with anger and hurt. Valentine, or Valerie, or whatever her name was. She was the reason Helios didn't feel the same way. She was the reason I'd been rejected.I thought about all the times Helios had helped her, all the times he'd put her first. I thought about how he'd always talked about her, always defended her. And I realized that I'd been blind, blind to the fact that he was in love with her.I finally reached my front door, slamming it shut behind me. I leaned against it, trying to catch my breath. I felt like I was going to collapse, like my world had been turned upside down. How could he do

"Hey, Helios," she said, like nothing was wrong. And then she hugged me. Tight."It's fine, Helios," she said, her voice muffled against my chest. "I understand if you love someone else. I just wanted to come over and talk to you about it."I was taken aback by her sudden display of affection. I didn't mind that she came over, but I did mind that she looked like she was trying too hard to be okay."Tasha, you don't have to pretend like everything is fine," I said, trying to gently extricate myself from her grasp. But she just held on tighter. "I'll be right back, I promise."I was still trying to wrap my head around the situation, but there was something about Marcus's words that resonated with me.
