Sixty-One

It was evening. Kyra and her mother were in the kitchen preparing dinner. The brothers decided that it was time to leave.

"Ma'am, We are about to leave!" Jax shouted.

"Really?! I will be there in a sec." Kyra's mother yelled from the kitchen.

She soon came out, wiping her hands on her apron.

"Leaving already? No way... You guys must stay for breakfast." Kyra's mother said.

"Ma'am.. We'll have to apologize then. We gotta go."

"Of course you can... After having dinner with us." Although she was smiling, her tone was firm.

She wouldn't let them go. The brothers were quiet for a while, and then they sighed,

"Okay ma... We'll stay for dinner." They dragged their feet back to the living room and sat on the sofa.

"Great... Dinner will be ready in five..." With that, she dashed back to the kitchen.

The door opened, and the brothers were startled. A man walked into the room. One look at him, and the brothers could tell that he was Kyra's father. The resemblance after all, was uncanny.
