Killian's POV

"I understand. Thank you." I said and made to leave when I remembered that Jade was still chained and we wouldn't leave together. If I acted like I earlier died, denying him and placing him in the hands of his enemies, I would still be justified.

But I wasn't that kind of person. I slowly sat back and questioned the magician what Jade had done to remain tied when I, who killed, had been released.

"What did he do to you?" I asked, my tone etched with concern.

"Be on your way," he said, his eyes glinting with dominance, "and don't let me repeat myself."

"Do you know him earlier? At least give me some answers. Let me know if his sins would make him stay back here while I bask in my glory. Can I get a response please?"

"I said, leave! Do you want to join him?" He furiously asked.

I walked over to Jade and sat right beside him, asking while I blinked my eyes repeatedly, like though I was doing something I had to do, not that I wanted to do.
