Cara's pov

Brian staggered back, clutching his side where Ryder had slashed him. His eyes burned with fury, and Asher, his wolf, growled from within, enraged by the pain but more so by Ryder. Blood poured from the wound, soaking Brian’s clothes, but he didn’t falter. He couldn't. He still stood, not wavering.

Ryder chuckled darkly, his scarred face gleaming with satisfaction. He twirled the silver blade in his hand, its edge glinting in the dim light of the cabin.

“Look at you, Brian,” he sneered.

“Bleeding like a wounded animal. It’s fitting, really. The mighty Rogue King brought to his knees by someone who knows you better than you know yourself.”

Brian’s eyes darkened, the fury bubbling just beneath the surface. His breaths came in harsh, ragged gasps as he fought to remain standing. But his gaze, his intense, unwavering gaze, never left Ryder. He was calculating, biding his time.

“You think you’ve won, Ryder?” Brian growled through gritted teeth. “You’re nothing but a coward hid

It felt like I was being moved, but I couldn’t piece anything else together. “How is she?” a voice asked, concern evident in its tone. Through the fog in my mind, I could faintly hear two people talking. “Her situation is still unstable, Master. She’s fading in and out of consciousness,” another voice replied nervously. I tried to recognize them, but the effort sent a sharp pain shooting through my head. “That is hardly an answer. I demand to know what’s going on, Lydia!” An angry voice bellowed. Who was this? Hooded figures sat in a perfect circle, their faces obscured by the thick shadows cast by a single flickering lantern that hung from the ceiling. This was the kind of meeting that no one was supposed to know about, held in a location known to only a few.At the head of the table, an imposing figure with sharp, cold eyes leaned back in his chair, fingers steepled together. His lips curled into a smirk as he surveyed the group before him. The tension in the room was palpable, but it was mixed with something else, confidence.“We’ve already won,” he said, his voice smooth but laced with arrogance, breaking the silence. Caras povs As I drifted in and out of consciousness, fragments of strange dreams filled my mind. They weren’t like the usual nightmares. These were different, vivid, and almost too real, as if I was being pulled into in-between reality and imagination.I found myself standing in the middle of an endless void, surrounded by whispers, each one calling my name, urging me to listen. The air shimmered with a soft golden light, and in the distance, I could make out the silhouette of a figure approaching. As it came closer, I realised it was a woman, tall, regal, and cloaked in a gown that seemed to be woven from the night sky itself. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Her eyes were fierce yet kind, glowing with an ethereal light.“Who... who are you?” I managed to ask, my voice barely more than a whisper. The woman smiled, but it wasn’t a smile of warmth. It was the kind of smile that held secrets, buried deep within. “You already know who I am,” she said softly, her voice e

Cara The cabin felt suffocating, its walls closing in on me. Brian's Alpha presence was a force that dominated the room, as though he could crush the very air with his silence. He stepped in, his eyes locking onto mine before they flicked down to the iron chains binding my wrists to the bed. His gaze lingered there, and for a brief moment, something flickered in his expression. Regret? Or was it just a cold calculation?"Brian," I whispered, my voice trembling, a lump forming in my throat. "Why are you doing this to me? Why am I chained like this? I thought you were protecting me from the kidnappers. "He didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he moved slowly toward the bed, his fingers brushing against the bruises left by the chains. His face was hard, unreadable, but I didn’t miss the way his hand trembled, just for a moment, before he looked away."This is for your own good, Cara, and the good of everyone," he finally said, his voice low, almost... tired."For my own good?" Cara's povThe sound of the door slamming shut echoed throughout the cabin, replaying in my mind like a haunting reminder. That was the day I officially became a prisoner and a slave, separated from my semblance of life I was starting to have. It’s been three days since then, and i have not seen Debby since that day. I’ve been left alone with only silence for company, except for the occasional servant bringing just enough food to keep me alive. Brian’s words, my mate’s words, kept echoing in my head. His cold tone, laced with malice and unforgiving distance, haunted my nightmares. His accusations hung in the air like smoke from a wildfire that had burned everything in its path.‘Dangerous.’The word felt foreign, as if it didn’t belong to me. How could ‘I’ be dangerous? I was nothing more than a weak, discarded Omega, treated like a slave, chained like an animal. A prisoner of his cold judgement. My eyes drifted to the bruises on my wrists, the heavy iron chains biting into my skin. A

Cara’s povs My heart skipped a beat as Debby’s words sank in. ‘Cupbearer.’ The same word the woman in my dreams had whispered to me. My body froze, an icy chill running down my spine. How could Debby possibly know? My hands trembled, and the weight of everything felt like it was pressing down on me. The dreams, the chains, the power inside me, it wasn’t just in my head. It was ‘real’, no matter how much I tried to ignore it. “What…" What did you just say?” I stammered, pulling back slightly to look into her eyes, searching for answers. Debby’s expression softened with a mix of sadness, her voice low and gentle. “i think You’re a Cupbearer, Cara. No mistake about that, a powerful one.” “No…” I shook my head, disbelief washing over me, mumbling to myself. “This can’t be happening. It’s the same thing she said… the woman in my dreams. How could you possibly know? How is this even real?” Debby’s eyes widened at my words, but she didn’t seem surprised. Instead, she nodded slowly, a

I…i read about them in an old journal, a long time ago, that's where I learnt about the cupbearers “ she said but something was not adding up, she talked like she knows them on a closer level than someone who just read them in a book. ‘Debby lied’.I stared at her a little wary of her now, I couldn’t trust her completely, not after she lied to my face. I was lost in thought, my mind racing, but I tried keeping up the facade. “And you think I’m one of them? That I’ve inherited their powers?”Debby nodded slowly. “I don’t just think it, Cara. I know it from the book. The signs are the same that have been written in the book. The dreams, the strange surges of power, the way you broke those chains… you’re a Cupbearer, Cara. The last of them, perhaps.”“But… if I’m the last cupbearer” I whispered, fear creeping into my voice, “does that mean I’m in danger? Could those who destro

Each beat vibrated through my chest, a constant reminder of how far I’d come and what I’d left behind. The sound grew fainter with every step, but I knew it wasn’t over. Not yet. Not until I was truly free. The adrenaline still coursing through my veins kept me moving, the strength in my bones unyielding. But I knew it wouldn’t last. Sooner or later, my body would give in, and I’d have to face the consequences. My limbs already felt heavy, a dull ache settling into my muscles. “I’ve escaped from Brian.” The thought brought a strange mix of relief and pain. His name made my heart ache, and for a fleeting moment, guilt flickered within me. I was running away from my mate. The bond between us, though fractured, still tugged at me, reminding me of the path I had chosen. But I shook my head, forcing away any lingering guilt. ‘I won’t feel sorry for someone who’s p

Cara's POVThe piercing sound of the war drum echoed through the air, sending chills down my spine. All around me, the arena descended into chaos. Brian stood tall, unwavering, his piercing gaze scanning the scene with the sharpness of a predator. The once vibrant faces of the Mafian pack, the people who had gathered for what should have been a resolution to Jules’ rebellion, were now etched with fear and determination.A sudden cry rang out. That was the shout of war acceptance. Warriors and rogues in their wolf form. streamed into the clearing, their weapons glinting in the dim light. I instinctively moved closer to Brian, my heart pounding as adrenaline coursed through my veins. Garreth’s arrival with Brian’s elite warriors was supposed to have tipped the balance, but fate had other plans. Emerging from the shadows like a tidal wave, enemy forces flooded the arena, their banners bearing the mark of the Council. And another symbol I can not make out. Like a sign of three wolves inte

Cara’s POVThe pressure and immense tension that fell over the arena was so thick it could be cut with a knife. At the center of it all stood Elder Jules, his signature smug grin plastered on his face, his arrogance radiating as strongly as the midday sun. He carried himself like an untouchable monarch, reveling in his perceived invincibility.I clenched my fists, forcing myself to meet his gaze. “This isn’t your pack, Jules. It’s Brian’s.”Jules chuckled, the sound cold and sharp, slicing through the fragile silence. “Slow down, young Omega. I am a respected elder of this pack. As such, I have every right to do what I am doing.”A collective intake of breath rippled through the gathered crowd, as though his words carried an unspoken threat. The elders, revered as symbols of wisdom and justice, held an unshakable authority. Even now, despite the undercurrent of fear, no one dared challenge him.“You’re sowing seeds of doubt and chaos,” I said, my voice steady even though anger churned

Cara povI wiped the sweat from my brow and sighed, leaning against the edge of Brian's bed. The clinic was quiet except for the faint rustling of leaves outside. It had been a week since Brian fell into a coma, it was like a gloomy veil covered the whole of mafians wolf pack. the pack had sunk into a gloomy, restless state. Cases of theft and robbery were a predominant situation these days. The once-unshakable Mafian Wolf Pack felt fractured, its foundation weakened without its Alpha. My gaze lingered on Brian’s face, pale and motionless, his strong frame looking smaller and more fragile than ever. I reached out, brushing a strand of hair from his forehead. “You’re stronger than this,” I whispered, my voice barely audible. “You always have been.”But no matter how many times I said those words, no matter how many sleepless nights I spent trying to heal him with the powers I had come to fear, nothing changed. Please come back,... come back to me.”The fire inside me surged, brighter and hotter than ever, as if responding to my desperate plea. My connection to him felt stronger, deeper, as though our very souls were intertwined, bound together by something neither of us could deny. I pressed my forehead gently against his fur, feeling the warmth of his battered body. “Come back to me,” I whispered again, tears streaming freely down my face.I closed my eyes, focusing on the bond between us, the bond that had always been there, even when we’d fought it, denied it, ignored it. Cara’s POVIt’s been two days since we returned to Mafian wolf pack, and I could feel the weight of hatred in every corner of the pack. The once warm smiles and nods of acknowledgment and reverence I once received before everything were replaced by cold glares and whispered insults. People stared at me with malice in their eyes, their disdain palpable.Even Debby, who had always been a source of comfort and guidance, was keeping her distance. I had not seen her since I came back, only sending in other nurses and maids to attend to me. The betrayal cut deep, and though I had the sisters, Emily and Emma, by my side when they weren’t busy, their absence was felt too. Emily was now a commander in mafian wolf pack as well as acting as a leader for her own people, she was burdened with responsibilities that kept her occupied, while Emma was often off with Siden, like two runaway lovers, their bond growing stronger each day.I tried to focus on small tasks to keep myself distracted in the ca
