We can’t lose what we don’t have

Rachael's POV

It was a bright morning and the Queen and I sat in a fancy restaurant to have breakfast. Just the two of us, apparently she had booked the entire restaurant for the next five hours.

At first, I didn't think it'd be possible to go out of the palace without taking any secret route. But the queen made it possible, she made me walk out of the palace beside her, having no care in the world.

I picked up my cup of tea and took a sip. She did the same.

"There's something you need to know, Rachael," the Queen began, finally breaking the silence between us. I thought she wanted us to observe proper table manners. I guess I was wrong.

"Ever since I got married to Alpha Blackwood, I've never been a happy person," she continued. "This is the first time that I feel real happiness. I didn't think I had ever loved living."
