Chapter 55

Jasper's POV

I was early to school on Monday. The halls were barely filled. I sat alone in class waiting for Hazel to show up.

The weekend had been very stressful for me; I couldn't relax one bit. I had been staring at my phone all weekend. I ignored every call that came through. I just wanted one of them to be Hazel's call. I wished that she would change her mind and tell me what exactly was going on.

I avoided the urge to call her back and demand an explanation. I didn't want things to get weird between us. What was I even saying? Things were already weird.

The classroom started to fill up slowly and students swarmed in like bees but there was still no sign of Hazel.

I bit my lips angrily. Maybe Logan harmed her when I left that day. What if she couldn't come to school? My heart rate began to go up and my breathing was wheezy and full of hate. I clawed at the table in fury. That bastard! If he had done anything to her, I was going to kill him.

The students still continued to pour in
