Chapter 100

Cassie’s POV

I felt all eyes fall on Jasper and I as soon as we walked into the building. I felt my body freeze but Jasper held my hand defensively and pulled me along.

I could hear unsavory whispers and snickers, as girls who used to look up to me began to point and laugh.

Soon the bell rang and the halls were clearing out; Jasper and I were now alone. I opened my locker with a sad face to get my books but he suddenly pinned me to it.

“You don’t look happy, Cassie.”

I exhaled and tried my best not too look into his eyes. All this felt so unnatural to me. I had been the popular girl for so long, but now, I was nothing.

“Talk to me, Cassie.”

I finally took a deep breath and met his gaze.

“People are laughing at us, Jasper. Or should I say, they are laughing at me. They think that I am a joke.”

I saw him raise his eyebrows up. He looked quite puzzled.

“I don’t think understand what you are getting at.”

I sighed and pushed him gently away as I tried to get my books from my locker.
