Part two: Chapter 18

GAZELLE'S POV

I was in trouble.

Very big trouble.

I cursed myself for leaving Jayden's side and even Jenna's. Both of them could have protected me from this.

But here I was, alone, defenceless and cornered. Worse, I couldn't even use my wolf even if it wanted to because then, they would recognise me.

Just as Gwen reached for the mask, the lights went off and it disoriented them.

“What is happening? There has never been a power outage in Wolverine before now,” Sarah said.

“I don't think it's an outage,” Carmen countered.

I knew they would turn on their flashlights soon so I used the opportunity to crawl away from them while they argued about the light.

My night sight was almost as clear as daytime so I easily manoeuvred through them into one of the stalls and locked it.

I heard Jenna banging earlier, so I figured they must have locked the door. If only I had figured out that it was them on time, I would have locked the stall.

“Turn on your flashlights! She's gone!” Gwen exclaime
