LOGINJEREMY’S POV
We got ready to leave for the ShadowMoon pack. The mission was simple, and if we were lucky, we would complete it in less than an hour of arriving.“Before we leave, I’d like to make one thing clear,” Jayden spoke suddenly.“What is it? Developing cold feet right before our mission, not much like you, Jayden,” I taunted and he rolled his eyes.“No matter what happens, we should only kill when necessary,” his gaze shifted to me, “By that, I mean let’s try our best to spill only the blood of the Alpha. Those wolves are innocent.”“So their Alpha just managed to kill two hundred rogues, all by himself. What is he? A God?” I huffed, and he shot me a look. “Let’s face reality, Jayden. These people are not as innocent as you paint them to be. I’m going to kill anyone that stands in my way,” I told him.He didn’t say anything to that, and I was relieved. It would be annoying to argue with him right befMarabella POV I woke to hushed voices; my body was heavy, and my eyelids felt even heavier. I fought through the fogginess in my head, wincing as it pounded a little. My lips were dry, but my stomach no longer radiated pain through me.“She’s awake,” Brax said, and I let out a sigh of relief that he was okay.He connected straightaway, and I lifted my heavy arms for him. “You’re okay,” I breathed.“Garrett is dealt with,” he said, and his lips pressed against mine.He pulled away, and Jordan took his place, kissing me softly.“You should not have pushed yourself, beautiful. I have given your mother permission to drug you into unconsciousness if you attempt something like that again,” Jordan breathed against my mouth.I smiled weakly, then opened my eyes, meeting his intense gaze. “I didn’t mean to. I just had to get Brax to accept the strength from us.”Jayden chuckled, leaning over to kiss the top of my head. “Little Human, Brax was never in danger,” he said.I frowned. “But he was
Marabella POV He was clearly faster and stronger, but he refused to use his shadows on his pack member. He didn’t want to have that advantage, he wanted to beat him as a wolf. but I hated seeing him hurt.“You’re quite pale. Maybe pull back a little? I don’t understand the link stuff, but maybe it is not safe for you?” she said, but I shook my head.“I have to know he is okay.” I trembled as he was pinned to the ground, Garrett’s teeth gnashing at him, almost reaching his neck.Brax growled and threw him off as Jayden and Jordan edged the sidelines, looking deadly as they stood there, legs apart, hulking frames dominating the space. They were lending strength to Brax, and he was refusing it.I shook my head at the thoughts he was trying to keep to himself. The self-destructive ones. The ones that told him he was strong enough on his own, that he didn’t need the others' strength. But that was the point of having merged the three separate packs, to be one unit, and not using Jordan’s a
Marabella POV I needed him too. He was my connection, he was the one who understood my shadows, understood that part of me like the others didn’t, and probably never would. But I believed what we had was strong enough, and I had hope that Brax would eventually be mine too. So, for now, I was going to enjoy my mates, and when Brax came back, him too.I moved to the bathroom, looking over my shoulder at my hungry mates on the bed. They were insatiable, and I had a small window to get the last of the heat from my veins.“Coming with me? I need to wash before going to see my mother.” I smiled, and they both came in with me.I sat in the bath, my alphas washing me, caressing me, still stuck in the aftercare stage of the heat. I wasn’t complaining, but my heart ached for Brax.“Brax?” I asked down our link, and he let me in. He was running as his wolf.“Just clearing my head, Spitfire. I’ll be there soon,” he said, and I watched through his eyes as he ran.“It doesn’t feel right without
Marabella POVI had no furniture left. No energy. No breath. My alphas had claimed it all.The heat had well and truly seared every part of me. The power from my alphas, the way my shadows writhed beneath me it had been intense. Like the dam had broken the second we had been alone.I had been naked in a second and claimed in the next. I felt bad that my mother was stuck in a room alone, but I couldn’t resist the heat or my alphas. The howls had finally died down from outside the window, though the pack power was still hot in my veins. My magic had been enough to keep the females satisfied, every single one finding the sated feeling that I did, and no Taylor outbursts this time, which was nice.I let out a heavy breath, my eyes fluttering closed as my body tried to tap out. I had well and truly been ravaged, my alphas not leaving a single piece of furniture untouched, and my skin was mottled with fingerprints. My mother might kill them yet for that, but for now, I was relishing in the
Marabella POV I sagged my shoulders, giving up on covering everything up. I had to spend the night with my wolves; I couldn’t put it off even though I wanted to spend it with my mother.I sighed. My hand clutched around my teacup as a flare burned my core.“I, uh… Mom, you didn’t come at the best time,” I breathed, the desire getting worse.I winced as she frowned, putting her teacup down.“Oh. I assumed you’d want to know—”“I do. We do, and I want you to stay at least for the night, until I can think straight,”I said, looking anywhere but at my alphas.I could feel it getting worse for them too. Even the howls were becoming constant.“Oh no, why can’t you think? Are you in pain? I have herbs…” She went to reach into her satchel, but I grabbed her hand and stopped her.I shook my head and met her gaze. “No, Mom, you’ve arrived during the heat,” I let out, straining the words from my throat instead of the moan I wanted to release. She gasped and snatched her hand back, her eyes goin
Marabella POV Jayden tensed from behind me, and I knew he was feeding from my rage. I tried to pull it back, but it was just as hard as trying to control the heat within my body.“He has made the women his personal servants. We must serve our men in all ways,” she said, her voice breaking as tears fell.I clenched my fists under the table.“We must cook for them, clean for them, and if our husbands wish it, pleasure them.“We are not allowed to speak unless spoken to, and every chore has fallen on us.We are barely given the food we need to survive, and we are punished for every infraction we incur. It is hell, Marabella.” She trembled.“I didn’t know he was this kind of man,” she muttered before sniffling back her tears and dabbing her face with the napkin.Rage consumed my blood, and with it, the heat, flaring underneath my skin until I was digging my nails into my thigh to stop from lashing out.“How did you get here?” Jordan asked with a frown. My head snapped to him with a glare
