Chapter 067

LORRAINE'S POV

My heart drummed against my chest as the worst scenarios played out in my head. I could already imagine the punishments I was going to get.

“Mom, it's a friend of mine. She's not feeling too well, I need to get her home e immediately,” Chloe said, hugging me as she faced her mother.

I made sure to bury my face in her shoulder.

“Really? Why are you carrying her by yourself? Where is Lorraine?” The Luna asked and I swallowed a lump.

“I sent her on an errand outside the manor. Can you stop with the questions, mom? She's in pain,” Chloe groaned.

Without waiting for a response, she led me outside. At least now, we didn't have to take the secret passage anymore. She got me into the car and hurried to the driver's seat.

“I'm so sorry about that, Lorraine. I should have gotten flats instead but the dress is made for heels,” she apologised.
