Forty Nine

RYLEE

His gaze was warm when I looked into his eyes, my heart fluttered at the sight.

"I guess all my misfortunes have become fortunes," I said with a smile on my face. Words could not describe how elated I was feeling. My self esteem had elevated and it was as a result of the feeling of holding much relevance to the pack.

"You deserve it," Vincent said to me. His comment was heart warming but I was distracted by the crimson liquid oozing out of his ears. He was too pale and his eyes were filled with weariness. It was enough to cause me to panic.

"Vincent... your ears are..."

He frowned, reaching up to touch his right ear.

"Your ears are bleeding," I rasped, glancing around just in case there was some tissues lying around. Thankfully, I found one. I hurried towards it and grabbed it. Then, I rushed back to him. He appeared dizzy.

Grabbing his hand, I made him sit on a chair. He closed his eyes when I started to wipe off the blood.

"Don't overreact, Rylee. It's probably nothing," Vi
