Nathaniel’s POV

From where I stood, I could see them.

Kara was near the training grounds again, her eyes following Phoebe as she moved. It had been the same for days. She wasn’t aggressive, wasn’t trying to force her way into conversations, but she was always there. Watching. Speaking when she had the chance.

Phoebe, on the other hand, paid her little attention. She was focused on her training, her responsibilities, and everything else that mattered. But even if she didn’t care, I did.

I wasn’t sure what Kara wanted.

She is trying to get close to her, my wolf rumbled in my mind.

Obviously, I replied, keeping my gaze locked on the two women. But why?

Maybe she admires her. Maybe she is studying her.

I considered that. Kara had been a warrior under Alexander, and now she was here, insisting she had abandoned him. But I didn’t believe things like that happened so easily. People did not just switch sides, especially not after fighting for a cause.

I kept watching as Phoebe finished her sp

Duncan’s POVThe tension in the Glassfur Pack’s court was suffocating. Warriors stood at the edges of the hall, their hands close to their weapons, though no fight had broken out—yet. Pack elders sat in their designated seats, whispering among themselves, their faces tight with concern.I strode through the large wooden doors, my boots striking against the stone floor with steady force. The murmurs grew softer as I walked toward my seat at the head of the table. The council had been waiting for me.At the far end of the table, Antonio stood with his arms crossed, impatience written all over his face. He had been pushing for this meeting, eager to lecture me, eager to question my decisions.I wasn’t in the mood.I dropped into my chair, stretching my arms over the sides of the wooden frame. “Well?” I said lazily. “Let’s hear it.”Antonio didn’t sit. Instead, he planted his hands firmly on the table, leaning forward as if he needed to push his words directly into my skull. “We’ve lost s

Duncan’s POVThe halls of the Glassfur Pack house were quieter than usual. Too quiet.I strode through the halls, my boots echoing against the polished floors. The warriors I passed walked briskly, avoiding my gaze, their heads lowered. A few muttered under their breath, their voices barely above a whisper before they fell silent the moment they sensed my presence.Cowards.They thought I didn’t notice the way they flinched. They thought I didn’t see the unease in their eyes, the hesitation in their movements. But I saw everything.I always did.Fury burned in my chest, but I swallowed it down. I would not let their disobedience go unpunished. The tension within the pack had worsened over the past few weeks.Warriors were leaving.Slipping away under the cover of darkness, vanishing without a trace. At first, I thought it was nothing—an isolated incident, a few weaklings who lacked the stomach for the battles ahead. But then it kept happening.More and more faces gone.More and more

Nathaniel's POVThe council chamber was quiet, except for the steady crackling of the fire in the hearth. The warmth barely reached where I sat at the head of the long wooden table. My fingers tapped against the armrest of my chair, the sound faint but steady, the only other movement in the room.I was waiting.A sharp knock echoed through the chamber before the heavy wooden doors creaked open. Elias stepped inside, moving with the measured confidence he was known for. He was one of my most trusted council members, a man who never wasted words or acted without thought. His loyalty was unwavering, but more importantly, his judgment was sound. He took a seat across from me, his expression serious."Alpha," he greeted with a respectful nod.I returned the nod but didn’t bother with pleasantries. "You have news?"Elias placed a rolled parchment on the table but didn’t immediately open it. His eyes met mine, his expression grave. "We’ve received new reports from our scouts regarding Glassf

Duncan’s POVSomething had changed.I noticed it during the last few days. It was hard to miss. Stephanie and Antonio were speaking more than usual. I’d walk into a room, and they’d both go quiet. Sometimes their talks looked serious. Sometimes they looked too casual. Either way, I didn’t like it.I didn’t say anything at first. I watched. I listened. I let them think I wasn’t paying attention. But today, I couldn’t hold back.I found Antonio in the hallway, near the council room. He was reading a paper, leaning against the wall like he had nothing to worry about. When he saw me coming, he lowered the paper slowly, like he had all the time in the world.“Alpha,” he said with a small nod.I stopped in front of him and kept my voice steady. “You’ve been talking to Stephanie a lot lately.”He raised an eyebrow, but his face stayed calm. “She’s your wife. It would be strange if I wasn’t polite to her.”“I didn’t say you were being polite,” I replied. “I said you’ve been talking.”He shrug

Nathaniel’s POVI stood in front of the wooden dresser, pulling out the clothes I would need. A dark shirt, plain trousers, my old boots. I placed them one by one on the bed, trying to stay focused. My sword was already cleaned and resting against the wall. My travel bag was half full. I had packed it the night before, but I wasn’t done.I had waited long enough.Alexander was still out there and his silence had started to unsettle me. He was too quiet.I didn’t trust the silence.Behind me, I could hear Phoebe’s slow breathing. She was sitting in the chair near the window. She hadn’t spoken much since I started packing again. She just watched. I could feel her eyes on me as I folded another shirt and placed it in the bag.“You’re really going,” she said at last.I didn’t turn to look at her. “Yes.”She stood up slowly. I heard her footsteps before I saw her. She came to stand beside the bed, just watching me as I pulled the laces tight on the pack.“You don’t even know where he is,”

Duncan’s POVI sat at my desk, my fingers tapping slowly on the wooden surface. The room was quiet except for the soft ticking of the old clock on the wall. I had been staring at the same report for ten minutes, but the words no longer made sense to me. My thoughts were somewhere else.A knock came at the door. It wasn’t loud, but it was firm.“Come in,” I said. One of my warriors stepped inside. He bowed quickly and held out a folded piece of paper.“This just came in, Alpha. A messenger brought it. He said it’s from Alexander of the Moonhowl Pack.”I frowned. “Alexander?”“Yes, Alpha. He asked that you read it yourself. He didn’t say anything else.”I stood up and took the message from his hand. I waited until the warrior left the room before opening it.The paper was short. Neat handwriting. Alexander had written that he wanted to meet with me, that there were serious matters to talk about. He asked if he could come to the Glassfur Pack.I read it twice, then again. I sat down slow

  • Mated To The Enemy Alpha   Chapter 84

Duncan’s POVAlexander was coming to the Glassfur pack. Since I started to have the altercations with his pack over Phoebe, there wasn't a time I hadn't thought of doing nasty things to one of them to send a message to Nathaniel. But from what I had learned, it was pointless to try to use him to get to Nathaniel. He didn't care about the brother, and he was a rebel. Alexander was simply chasing his own interests while his brother chased his own interests. But outright rebellion was what I had not seen coming. How could Phoebe be in the midst of such chaos? How could she claim to be happy in a pack where the brothers were at war and probably didn't give a shit about whatever was happening with her?Granted, she was fierce and could help herself through the chaos, but wasn't there more peace here for her? Here, she would be in the councils and discuss how to run the pack with me. She would have a voice here and her opinions would be heard. What if she wasn't even given that opportuni

Duncan's POV I didn't get a response from Alexander when the tension in the room started to grow even worse. I looked around and saw that Antonio had a bewildered expression on his face. Alexander simply looked unmoved by what I had said. Stephanie had her mouth hanging open. But before I could speak, Stephanie rose from her seat, her hands pressed flat against the table.“You can’t be serious,” she snapped, her voice sharp. “You want to join hands with this man just to take back a woman? Of all the women, Phoebe? The same Phoebe?”I didn’t look at her. “Sit down, Stephanie,” I commanded. My voice carried an authority that I usually exercised when I spoke to her and she wasn't complying.“No,” she said quickly. “This is madness. You’ve lost focus. You don’t want to lead, you want revenge. You want a woman who clearly wants nothing to do with you. A woman who's been taken by another man and is now working for and with him. Heck. I even learned they're mates!”Antonio stood up and rais

Nathaniel's POV Someone knocked on my door before the sun came up. I was already awake, sitting by the window, watching the sky shift from dark to gray. I stood and opened the door. A young guard stood outside, eyes fixed ahead.“Alpha Throndsen would like to see you,” he said.“Now?” I asked.“Yes. He said it’s important.”I didn’t ask more. I changed quickly, pulled on my coat, and followed the guard through the cold halls. The stones under our feet were wet with morning frost. The silence between us lasted the entire walk. We moved past the sleeping halls, past the main courtyard, and through a set of tall wooden doors. Two more guards opened them without a word.Inside, Throndsen waited. He stood by the long window at the far end of the room. The light outside was still faint, but it spilled in just enough to show his face. This time, he didn’t wear his usual polite smile. His hands were behind his back, and he didn’t speak right away. The guard left and closed the door behind me

  • Mated To The Enemy Alpha   Chapter 99

Nathaniel's POV The next morning, I stepped outside the guest quarters. The wind was colder than the day before, and the sky was gray. The ground was hard under my boots, and the cliffs stood far in the distance like stone walls. I walked slowly through the Silver-Coast Pack’s territory, taking in everything. The people I passed did not smile. They did not seem to have any message in their eyes. And even if they did, they didn't seem eager to share it to the alpha who had come to them for want of information. They simply moved in directions that they had business in.Most of them did not even look up. They moved quickly and quietly, as if they were afraid of being watched. Or even caught. The guards stood straight at every corner. Their eyes didn’t move unless I spoke to them first. Even then, they only answered with short words. No one joked. No one laughed. It wasn’t like the Star-Rain Pack, where people tried too hard to impress. Here, everything was quiet. Too quiet.I kept walki

Nathaniel's POVThe road leading to the Silver-Coast Pack was silent. I rode slowly, my eyes fixed on the cliffs in the distance. The wind blew colder here. Even my wolf, Sean, didn’t speak much as we approached the gates. The guards stood in a straight line, quiet and still. Their faces gave nothing away. No movement, no expression. It was like they were made of stone. The gates opened with a heavy sound. No one gave an order, but the guards moved in perfect steps. I stayed on my horse until I saw the man coming toward me. He was tall, his steps slow and steady. He had grey hair at the sides and sharp eyes. I knew right away who he was.“Alpha Throndsen,” I said as I got down from my horse. He didn’t answer at once. He looked at me for a long time, as if he was reading something written on my face. Then he spoke. “Nathaniel. Welcome to Silver-Coast.”His voice was quiet but firm. He nodded to a man beside him, who stepped forward and took the reins of my horse.“Come,” Throndsen said

Phoebe's POV The next day, I sat at my table, flipping through the records again. The papers were old in some places, newer in others. Some had Nathaniel’s handwriting, and others were mine. There were notes on supplies, guard shifts, and patrol reports. I tried to focus on them, but my head ached from reading too much. • Mated To The Enemy Alpha   Chapter 94

Phoebe's POV I stood at the edge of the training grounds. The wind was light, and the sounds of fists hitting practice pads, swords clashing, and feet moving over the dirt filled the air. I didn't say anything. I just watched. My arms were crossed over my chest, and my eyes followed the movements of the younger warriors. Some of them were still learning how to hold their balance. Others moved with more skill. I didn’t know if any of them saw me standing there, and I didn’t care if they did.Mia, my wolf, stayed quiet in my head. She was calm, but I knew she was watching too. We both needed this quiet moment. The day had already been long, and it wasn’t even close to night yet.I didn’t want to think about Elizabeth. I didn’t want to think about what Alpha Darius had said. I didn’t want to think about anything at all. I only wanted to be outside, where the air was fresh and the noise wasn’t coming from arguments. But of course, peace never lasted long.I heard footsteps behind me. The

Phoebe's POV Elizabeth walked beside me like we were friends. She didn’t say much, only looked ahead and walked with her usual proud steps. I didn’t say anything either. I kept my hands at my sides and focused on the hallway in front of us. The silence between us was tight, but she acted like there was nothing wrong.“She's mastered the art of pretense,” Mia whispered in my head. I shrugged off the thought because I didn't want to settle on it. True, I've come to learn that despite how much Elizabeth had always disliked me, she tried to make sure she didn't show this when Nathaniel was anywhere close, except for the occasions when it became unbearable and she just had to show how much she didn't like me.I'd made peace with the fact that she was never going to like me and I didn't bother to do much to get her to like me. She made it seem like it was Nathaniel that she really loved while she was siding with Alexander. She was the tricky sister indeed and Nathaniel didn't deserve a si

Phoebe’s POVI sat on the edge of the bed with my arms crossed and my legs swinging slightly. The room was quiet, but my thoughts were loud. My eyes stayed on the floor, but inside, I was still hearing the voices from earlier. I could not stop thinking about the way they looked at me when I gave the order. Like I was wrong for speaking.Mia, I called gently in my mind.“I’m here,” she answered quickly. Her voice always made me feel stronger. “You did what you had to do.”I nodded slowly. But they still don’t respect me. I can feel it. They don’t see me as their Luna.“They will,” Mia said. “Respect doesn’t always come fast. But that doesn’t mean you stop doing what is right.”I sighed. It’s hard, Mia. I’m not trying to prove anything. I just want them to stay safe. Why can’t they see that?“They are stubborn,” she said. “And used to old ways. You are not what they expected, and that scares them. But you are stronger than they know.”I let those words sit in my chest for a while. I sto
