***Freya's POV***
No, this can't be happening. How can the enemy be my mate?“I only just took power two years ago?”Alpha Edward said in fright.“What difference does it make? You should have known that I will be coming soon. Didn't I send my letter of warning, asking you to be prepared?”“I…I…did. Alpha, you must understand that your grudge is with the late Alpha and not me.”“Shut the fuck up?!” He thundered in a commanding tone that sent everyone cowering in fright, including my uncle. This is just too pathetic. What did my parents do to him, and just who is he?“The sins of your brother will be paid off by you. Else, I'm not only going to destroy your pack, but everyone present, including you, Alpha Edward, will become my slave!”Immediately, my uncle prostrated on the floor.“Have mercy on me, Alpha Tristan, please do not punish me for the wrong my brother did.”Alpha Tristan? My heart sank that very instant. He's the worst nightmare of our pack. I heard he's had a long-lasting enmity with my dad, though I don't know the details of what caused their enmity.“That's impossible. Bring me the women and children, able men and boys who can work in my pack,” he ordered his men.“Alpha Tristan, how about I tell you how to appease your anger?”Edward said at once, still on his knees. The Alpha, suddenly, raised a brow.“Tell me how.”“Roderick's daughter is still alive. How about I offer her to you, to appease your anger?”Immediately, he raised his hand in the air and his soldiers stopped dragging the soldiers and men in my pack.Wait a minute, did my uncle just offer me as a peace offering?“Interesting. I never knew Roderick had a daughter. Why don't you bring her to me, if she's worthy, I might show you mercy, but if she's not, I'm afraid my decree still stands.”My knees instantly buckled, and I fell to the ground helplessly. That must have alerted them, seeing how they all stared in my direction.“Who's there? Come out this instant!”The Alpha thundered, which made me quiver in fright. Should I have listened to Trisha and ran away when I had the chance? If only I did, I'm sure I wouldn't be found by the time they searched the pack for me. But now, it's too late and there's nothing I can do to stop what's about to happen. I tried to get up from the ground, but my legs failed me.“Go get the spy!” The Alpha commanded and immediately, these tall and huge soldiers came towards my direction.I dragged myself backwards with my hands dragging on the floor, but they were too fast for me to escape them. They each held me by the hands and dragged me out of my hiding spot with my legs scraping the rough floor. When they finally came in front of the Alpha, they pushed me so hard that I found myself falling at his feet.“A girl?” He asked, in a confused tone. At this point, my heart was pounding deeply in my chest. He crouched down to my level, placed a hand under my chin and raised my face up to his gaze.At that moment, it seemed as though the world had stopped spinning. He stared at me wordlessly, and I, for some reason, noticed his hard features soften slightly. Meanwhile, my heart was pounding loudly in my chest, afraid of what would happen next.“Who is she?” He asked, still staring down at me."S…she's the daughter of Alpha Roderick.”This seemed to have moved him, seeing how his earlier softened expression became hard the next second. My heart sank, knowing I was done for.“Are you saying she's the daughter of my arch enemy, Alpha Roderick?”“Exactly, Alpha. I'm sure there's nothing more appealing than having his precious daughter, whom he valued more than life itself.”I can't believe my uncle actually hated me this much. How could he sell me off without batting an eye?The Alpha suddenly raised the corner of his lips in a smirk while staring at me.“This is fascinating.”“Who do we have here, brother?”I heard another deep voice say.I slowly took my gaze towards the man who came beside the Alpha, and my blood froze. These two, why do they look so alike?“You are late!”“I'm sorry, brother, but I had other engagements. Besides, you didn't inform me we were coming to the enemy's territory today.”Did he just say brother?“Well, it is your duty to always know what your Alpha is up to as my beta!”What? His brother is his beta? This brother of his stared down at me, and surprisingly, he had the same expression the Alpha had, the first time our eyes met.“Who is she?”He asked as well.“She's the daughter of Alpha Roderick. Isn't the goddess giving me justice today? The enemy left his daughter behind, ah!” The Alpha uttered.I expected the brother to feel overjoyed about this, just like the Alpha, but his expression was rather confusing. He didn't say a single word, but rather stared down at me.“Well, well, Edward. Though I intended to destroy your pack, the fact that you gave me something to ease my anger has made me change my mind.”“Oh thank you so much Alpha Tristan.”I turned around and noticed how my uncle bowed his head repeatedly in excitement.I couldn't take this anymore.I'm no coward, and I can't be dragged out of my Pack like the slave they want to make out of me. I stood up immediately and turned around to face my uncle.“How could you do this to me, uncle? My father, your brother, treated you with so much love and respect. How could you sell me off to the enemy just like that!”Edward quickly stood up from the ground and scurried over to meet me.“Listen, I'm doing this for your own good. Would you have preferred your head hanging on a spike than be his slave? Who knows, if you are obedient enough, he can make you his side mistress. Now quit being stubborn and go with him,” he whispered and pushed me towards my enemies.I can't believe this, my uncle felt no remorse at all. How can he be this cruel to his niece?“Now, daughter of Roderick, accept your fate and come with me, now that I'm still being nice.”I blinked as tears ran down my cheeks. He calls making me his slave nice? Didn't he feel the mate bond at all?I slowly wiped off my tears and turned around to face him.“I, Freya, daughter of Alpha Roderick, will never bow to the enemy or become his slave!"***Freya's POV***“What?” The Alpha muttered while staring at me in a daze. “Alpha, please don't pay heed to her words. She's strangely stubborn and does things on a whim. You must not listen to her words, please,” my uncle begged. “You don't need to plead. I like girls like her. Especially those who believe they are strong until I slowly break off their confident wings, so they can't fly anymore.”“Get her!” The Alpha ordered and immediately, the soldiers who had initially dragged me out of the pack house came at me. I cannot be taken away from my father's pack this way. Just as I was about to be dragged away. I instantly shifted into my wolf and growled out loud. Everyone present, including my uncle, ran back into the pack house blocking his ears with his palm. My growls were poisonous to the ears. I don't know how I became this way, but it's something I've lived with since I turned eighteen. I continued to growl, hoping this will make the enemies flee, but I was shocked that
***Alpha Tristan's POV***“Brother, what do you plan to do with Freya?”I raised a brow at Tyler. It's unlike him to question me for a woman. I quickly closed the book I was holding and looked up at my younger brother. “Why do you ask?”“Listen, I know our plan was to take over the Ravens Pack, but we don't actually have to make Roderick's daughter pay for what he did.”“You have no idea what happened, Tyler, so I'll suggest you don't bring up the matter about Freya in front of me again. “But, she's your mate. How can you treat her this way?” “Shut the fuck up! The moon goddess made a mistake by mating that daughter of a sinner to me. And yes, it is only right that she pays for the sins of her father. I walked away from Tyler and headed to the kitchen where I ordered her meal. I picked up the tray myself and headed to the storeroom where she was tied up. As soon as I got in. I saw her looking around. Good thing she's awake. After stating the rules to her, she stared at me in a d
***Freya's POV**“You should all leave this instant!”Immediately, the maids bowed their heads and exited the room quickly. I slowly turned around to face him. “What are you doing here?”“Freya, you shouldn't be wearing this,” he quickly rummaged through the closet I never knew existed, searching for something I had no idea about. Just then, he took out a blanket and rushed over to me, trying to cover me with it. “What do you think you're doing, Tyler?”He froze and took his gaze up at me. “I can't let you do this, Freya. I can't even imagine you in his arms.”“So, you know exactly what will happen to me. Though, why would you care what I do with your brother?”“Because I…” He trailed off without saying a word. I simply pushed the covers away from me and headed to the door. Before heading out, I turned around only to see Tyler looking so terribly worried. “I'm definitely not going to let him win, that's one thing I've promised myself,” with that said, I walked out of the room a
**Freya's POV**“Guards!”Tristan yelled out, and the next thing I knew, two giant men stormed into the room. My heart sank when I saw them. They were the same men who had pulled me out of hiding while I was still in my former pack. They seemed to be at Tristan's beck and call. “Take this silly woman out of my presence and lock her up in the dungeons without food and water!”He commanded and immediately, they both bowed their heads and quickly came for me. “No! Let me go!” I screamed and yelled at them, but as of that moment, it was obvious that my screams did not impact them in any way. They only follow the orders of their Alpha and that means, I've got no say. “Drag her out if she tries to resist!”He ordered. They both pulled me by my hands to drag me out of the room. “You had better let me go, Tristan! I will never become your slave!” I yelled while struggling under their hold. He suddenly raised his hand in the air, and they stopped pulling me, but they never let go of thei
***Tyler's POV***I stormed into my brother's room in anger. “Tell me, what is the meaning of what you just did?”Tristan raised a brow from his office chair where he was seated, staring at the computer?”“What are you talking about?”“Freya. Why did you send her to the dark prison? You know it will be difficult for her to survive there. How could you be so heartless, brother!”“Heartless? Maybe you should have yourself checked! How dare you barge into my room to question me about the daughter of the man who killed our father? How many times do I need to remind you about this?”“This is what you've been saying ever since our parents died. Alpha Roderick had already paid for our father's death with his death. He died with his Luna, for goddess’ sake! Isn't that enough punishment for you?”“No it's not! I didn't kill them? They died on their own. The only way my anger would have been appeased was if the Alpha had died in my hands. As long as he didn't die by my hands then, his daughter
**Freya's POV***After being locked in the cold and dark prison for a few hours, all I could think about was my past and how my parents died. I kept recalling how sad I was, how I cried bitterly and how badly they treated me. Mere thinking about the past brought hit tests to my eyes. I sat on the cold floor and curled myself like a child. I was in a terrible state and all I thought was that I was never going to see the light of day again. Maybe this is how my end would gradually come. An hour later, I suddenly heard my name in the dark. This furthermore increased my fears. I buried my head in my arm and cried silently. “Freya, can you hear me?”The call of my name only got me more scared. Who could that be, calling me in this dark cell? Has Hades finally come for me, perhaps? I trembled and my lips quivered in fright. I wish I felt this way because I was cold, but that wasn't the case. The reason I'm feeling this way was because I was scared to death. I might have been a courageous
"**Alpha Tristan's POV***The next day, I was in my office, waiting for news from my gamma, Wayne. I needed to know how her first night in the dungeon was like. I'm sure she must be scared to death by now. I let out a scoff. She should have been less stubborn while she was with me. Serves her right. I heard a knock on my door and soon after, it flew open. Wayne walked into the room quickly with a not so pleased expression. “Tell me, how is she?”“According to the guards. She stopped crying yesterday. When they went in to check on her. She doesn't seem to be worried or crying. It seemed as though she had accepted her fate.”“What? How can she accept fate just like that? Not even the strongest of my men could survive the dark prison with no food and water. It's impossible that she'll be calm just like that. Sure they checked her properly?”“I believe they did. On the other hand, you have a visitor, Alpha.”I raised a brow at what Wayne said. “A visitor in my pack?” I repeated questi
***Freya POV***This was the second day in the cold, dark dungeons. Though I was still very much uncomfortable, it was better, now that I could use a phone. I didn't just use the phone for its light. I could very much play games with the phone and watch some movies as well. With all of these features on the phone, I didn't feel that much despair. Although, the guards do a routine check every morning and night. Whenever I hear their footsteps coming towards my direction, I quickly turn off the lights and hide the phone. I only start operating the phone when I'm sure they have all gone. According to Tyler, he had bribed the guards, so he could come in and out of the dark dungeon without them reporting him to the Alpha. Since Tyler can't take the phone from me since it aids my vision, he brings me a fully charged power bank and also snuggles in some snacks for me. If I had to stay in the dark dungeons all my life while having full access to all these things, I'm not sure if I'd be
Arnold's POVI went into the building to start searching for Elizabeth. There were few rogue soldiers around, but I easily slayed them. My mind was all focused on finding my mate first. A few minutes into walking in, I spotted Alan in one of the rooms. “Alpha Arnold…” He mumbled as soon as he saw me. I barely have time to fight anyone right now. I'll deal with him after I find her for sure. Surprisingly, Alan wasn't pleased with the fact that I'm walking away from him. “You cannot leave without a fight. I don't think I'll be able to walk out of this anymore. Let's settle this, you either kill me and go on with your journey or I do so and claim my place as the next Lycan King!" He blurted out. I was so confused but at the same time, it explained why he was siding with Tristan in the first place. “So you decided to side with my enemy just so you could become the next Lycan king. That has to be the dumbest decision you've made.” I said and shook my head in disgust. “Call me stupid o
Tristan's POVI attacked Tyler m, attempting to slay him and he quickly blocked my attack skillfully. He blocked my sword and cut my hand, giving it a small scar. “You gave me a scar. I must say you have honed your sword fighting skills since we last had a duel. But you're forgetting something important, I taught you how to use the sword.” I said and attacked him again.Tyler was quick enough to block me again but this time, I took advantage of my strength and pushed him back till he tripped and fell on his back. He was fast to get up again but I didn't let him regain his composure before I reached him and stabbed him with my sword. The sword fell off Tyler's hand and he fell to the ground, groaning in pain. I pulled the sword from him and heaved a sigh of relief. “You chose the wrong side brother. Maybe if you had decided not to help Arnold, maybe you would have loved enough to see another day.” I said with an evil smile on my face“Sadly, this is the end of the road for you.” I
Arnold's POVWe all halted when a figure slowly emerged from one of the buildings. Standing in front of us all was Tristan. He stood still and was just staring at us in silence. “So, you have finally come to die, Arnold?” Tristan said menacingly. I stared at him, with great urge to just tear him to tiny pieces and feed the parts to wild animals. Tristan's facial expression suddenly changed. He seemed to notice something odd amongst us. “Wayne? What is going on here? You should be in the Blue moon pack.” He said feebly. I finally understood why he suddenly felt perplexed. “I could not keep up with the pace of your cruelty, my lord. You left me no choice.” Wayne replied nonchalantly. “So you decided to betray my trust and side with my enemies. After you served me for so long? I knew your sudden appearance here meant something but I was just too ignorant to accept it.” Tristan said and sighed.Wayne didn't know what to say anymore. He turned to me and shrugged his shoulders. “Trista
Arnold's POVThe soldier left immediately and soon returned with the Alpha of the Blue moon pack. A woman who seemed to be his Luna was with him. He reached us and stopped. “You are the Lycan king…” He said, with his voice vividly shaking in fear. Seeing how scared he was, I was confident he wouldn't refuse to hand the boy over. “Yes, I am. I'm here for my son, Amon. Someone left him here with you, and I want you to hand him over to us immediately.” I commanded. The Alpha was quiet for a while and only stared at me. “You want him? I guess you're going to fight us if we refuse to do that, right? And seeing how few your men are, I'll say you're incapable of winning this fight.” He said menacingly. Stan unsheathed his sword immediately and aimed at his neck. A few of the pack's soldiers also did the same, and we all stood there in silence, waiting for the next person to take the decisive step. “Tell your men to lay down their weapons. You are greater in numbers, but that will absolu
Arnold's POVI walked into the living room and took my seat. “So, how is the preparation going? Are we almost Ready to Match up now?” I asked eagerly. “Oh, we are not ready. We are so not ready.” Wayne said angrily. Tyler winked at him to stop acting up, which he reluctantly obliged to. “I assume he already told you that you'll lead us there. Well, no one else can.” I said to Wayne. Wayne smiled at me faintly and stood up to leave. “I will be in my room, preparing for the journey. When you're all ready to leave, I will join you.” He said and left. I turned to Tyler. “Is there anything left to do here? We should set out soon if there's none. The sooner, the better for us.” I said. “There Should be just a few preparations left before we set out. Oscar, are our men ready?” Tyler asked his Beta. “Yes, my lord, They are all ready. But we did have another few down counts, as more of Alpha Arnold's men were also infected. We have just about fifty percent left of their initial numbers.”
Tyler's POVMy jaw dropped in shock, but I quickly composed myself. I Turned to Havana to see her staring at me intensely. “Well, I missed you too, but just couldn't say it.” I thought to myself. Havana drew closer to me slowly, before planting a kiss on my lips. She slowly pulled away from me and stared into my eyes. “I missed you too, Havana.” I said and pulled her closer again. We kissed hungrily as she held me firmly. After a short while, we pulled away from each other to catch our breath. I stood up and held Havana. “We Should head to my room, someone might walk in here at any moment.” I said and started walking away. Havana obliged and walked came with me. We both headed for my quarters immediately. After avoiding the maids and guards around as much as we could, we finally reached my room. I shut the door and heaved a sigh of relief. Turning around, I was spooked when Havana suddenly pulled me closer and kissed me hungrily. She rubbed my chest as our lips parted, “Take of
Arnold's POVI walked back into the room after shutting the door. “I am so famished, it feels like I haven't eaten in months!” I exclaimed and sat down. I soon started eating, and it tasted way better than I expected. After a while, I finished eating and went out to see Tyler. “He Should be somewhere in the Living room or something, your majesty.” The maid I asked Tyler's room for replied. I thanked her and headed to the living room. As she said, Tyler was indeed in the living room, sitting alone. He was so lost in thought that he didn't notice I had come in until I cleared my throat. Tyler looked up and saw me. “Your Majesty, it is quite late already. You should be resting as the journey might have taken a toll on your body.” He blurted out.“You should not be worried about that. What lies further ahead is way more important than mere sleep. As Wayne said, your brother would do anything possible to win this battle.” I said. As soon as I mentioned his brother again, Tyler stopped
*Arnold's POV* Still lost and void of a way out of the situation we were currently in, Things were seemingly going bad. “What I am saying is that, there is absolutely no way I would join this fight if there are not enough men. We should be twice their numbers to be able to have a chance at winning this battle!” Wayne stated. Even though he was right, I just didn't want to accept that he is. There was nothing we could think of now that the battle is at hand. “There's nothing we can do anymore now. Overanalyzing the situation would not result in any solution.” I stated. Wayne stared at me furiously, but he could not just exert his anger fearing getting slayed by Stan. “We have to think of something, Your Majesty. If we go ahead and attack Alpha Tristan without proper preparation, there will be no way out of this.” He said. “I hate to say this, but he's right, Your majesty. My brother would definitely be prepared for whatever way the battle Is coming. Attacking or defending his l
Tristan's POVI reached the Rogue village again. Karl was in the living room when I walked in. “You are back. Did you, by any chance, leave with your Beta? He seemed to have disappeared after you left.” Karl asked. “Wayne? He was in here when I left. Did he leave without your knowledge or something?” I asked. Karl shook his head. “I am certain that he didn't leave yet. The guards at the gate said they didn't see him leave. My thoughts were that he left with you.” He said. I was beginning to get confused. Wayne was in the living room when I left, and he was surely going to leave after I did. “Maybe he left without anyone see him do that. I already asked him to go back to the Blue moon pack. And I don't think there's something to be worried about.” I said. Karl sighed. “I don't understand why, but I just felt it was suspicious. He suddenly came here without being asked for and also left in the same way he came.” He said. I was still so confused, too. “Wait, did he by any Cha
