The heavy door creaked open, and Emily and her captor were ushered into a dimly lit room.
The air was thick with a palpable sense of power and desire, but not the kind that could be sated with food.
Emily tried to conceal her trembling body from the lecherous looks of the men in the room, but it was a futile effort. She was the center of attention, and she knew it.
"Kneel," the man who had brought her here barked, and Emily complied. But before she could adjust to her new position, he kicked her legs out from under her, and she landed hard on all fours. Her hands were still tied behind her back, making the fall even more painful.
There was a moment of eerie silence as the men in the room sized her up. Emily felt like a piece of meat on display, ready to be devoured.
The man who brought her here moved to take a seat, leaving Emily alone at the center of the room.
"What are we to make of her, Alpha?" A new voice broke the silence, and the others started to murmur in agreement.
"We can make her our toy," another voice chimed in, eliciting a low chuckle from some of the men.
"Your mate would have your head, Matt," the first voice warned.
"I don't mind, as long as I have her," Matt replied with a smirk, causing Emily's skin to crawl.
"Enough!" The Alpha's voice boomed, and the room fell silent once more. "She is an Omega. How can you lust after such a lowly thing?"
"What are we to do with her then?" Another voice asked.
"Make her do what other Omegas do in the pack," the Beta suggested. "She is lucky to be alive. Let her work for the pack."
"Good one," two of the Alpha's friends chimed in.
"If that is all, I have training to attend to," Matt said abruptly, his tone painted with impatience as he left the room.
"Matt sounded peeved," the Alpha observed.
"About the Omega? No. You know he doesn't joke with his training. He believes we could be attacked anytime, so he loves it when we are always ready," one of the Alpha's friends clarified.
"Get her to the Omega quarter, Kane," the Alpha ordered the man who had brought Emily.
"Yes, Alpha," Kane replied. He grasped Emily's hand and pulled her up before directing her towards the Omega quarter. They left the room. "You behaved fairly well," Kane remarked.
"Thank you, sir," Emily replied.
"What is your name?" Kane inquired.
"Emily, sir," she answered.
"I hope I remember not to refer to all of you as Omega when you're together in a room," Kane said. Emily was perplexed; what was he talking about?
As they walked further into the pack house, they entered another wing, where they encountered an older lady. "Here is another one," Kane said to the woman before departing.
Emily avoided looking at the lady, but the lady approached her and touched her face. Emily withdrew immediately, but the lady assured her that they were in the same boat. "Look up, dear," she said.
Emily slowly raised her head and realized that the lady was an Omega, judging from her disheveled grey hair and unkempt clothing.
"What's your name?" Emily asked.
"I'm Mary," the lady replied with a smile. "You don't need to call me ma'am. Mary will suffice. Kat, please help Emily settle in, get her a properly fitting uniform, and show her what she needs to do." Mary summoned another Omega girl named Kat.
Suddenly, Emily's stomach growled loudly. She felt embarrassed, but Mary chuckled and told her not to worry.
"Get changed, and I'll see if there are any leftovers for you to eat," Mary said.
"Come on," Kat said, looking younger than Emily. She led Emily to their small but well-maintained room and opened a drawer filled with uniforms. Together, they found one that fit Emily perfectly.
"You can wash yourself there," Kat said, pointing to a door on their left.
"The Alpha can suddenly get offended if you're dirty."
"Thank you," Emily said.
"Be sure to use the water sparingly. I'll be waiting for you here. Go ahead," Kat said before leaving the room.
Emily nodded and entered the bathroom. It was tiny, but she was grateful for the water. She quickly undressed and bathed, without soap since there was none available. She dried herself with the single towel and changed into the new uniform.
There was even a set of bra and panties for her to wear, which was a vast improvement.
She attempted to dry her hair with the towel, thankful that it was black, so it wouldn't show how dirty her red hair was.
She hadn't seen herself in a mirror for so long, and when she finally saw herself in the bathroom mirror, she barely recognized herself. She looked thin, almost skeletal, with bags under her eyes.
Her red hair was a mess, nearly turning black from the grime that coated it.
Her cheeks looked sunken in, so she pulled her hair up into a messy bun to keep it out of her face while she worked.
Instead of lingering on her reflection, she left the bathroom and found Kat waiting outside.
"I thought you drowned," Kat joked, checking to make sure Emily was okay.
"I would never do that," Emily replied, and Kat nodded in agreement. She led Emily to the kitchen where Mary was waiting with a plate of porridge.
"This is the only thing left. Eat quickly, and let's get down to business," Mary said.
Grateful, Emily took the plate and quickly finished the food. Mary took the empty plate and handed it to Kat, who promptly took it away.
"Can you cook?" Mary asked Emily.
"Yes," Emily replied.
"Which pack are you from?" Mary inquired, showing Emily what she needed to do.
"I'm from the Skyline pack."
Mary nodded her head in agreement. "I heard that this pack attacked them as a lesson for interfering with their affairs," Mary said, her tone serious.
"And how were you treated there?" she asked Emily.
"It was terrible," Emily replied, struggling to put her feelings into words.
Mary nodded in understanding. She had been a slave since birth, passed from one pack to another, yet she was still alive and holding herself up. "This pack is no different," she said. "But all you need to do is try your best to stay away from trouble. Hide from trouble, run away from trouble, and you will be fine."
"Thank you," Emily said, and they fell silent, preparing the evening meal. None of the pack members came into the kitchen to disturb the Omegas, unlike in her former pack.
There, they would have taunted Emily and Fanny and punished them for making a mess in the kitchen. Emily thought about Fanny and prayed to the Moon Goddess to keep her safe.
"How many Omegas are in this pack?" Emily asked.
"We have five, myself, Kat, Tina, Faith, and now you," Mary replied. Emily had only seen two Omegas so far: Kat, and either Tina or Faith.
"You must have met Faith in the cell," Mary said.
"Oh, she's Faith? Why is she in the cell?" Emily asked, fear creeping into her voice.
"She wanted to kill herself, so she was put in the cell where she can't harm herself. The other Omegas were sold to other packs," Mary explained. Emily looked fearful, but Mary reassured her. "If you behave well, they will keep you."
Emily nodded and went back to work. Mary was clearly skilled in her tasks, having lived most of her life as a maid and Omega.
But Emily didn't want to end up like Mary. She vowed to escape to the human world and forget about this life, as long as she avoided werewolves there.
"When do we finish for the day?" Emily asked Mary.
"We finish when we're done with our daily work. Kat and Tina are attending to the laundry now, ironing the clothes, and then they will return them to the rooms. After we're done here, we'll join them. The pack members will attend to their meals themselves. They don't like us getting their food," Mary said.
"Okay," Emily said. She was glad to avoid contact with the pack members.
A few days later, the Omegas were doing laundry while Mary told them stories about the king. Mary had been around for a long time and knew about the curse.
"I heard he was cursed even before he was born," Mary said.
"Is that why he's so heartless?" Tina asked.
"Who knows? No one knows how the curse affects the king," Mary replied with a shake of her head.
"What a life, though he has everything," Kat said as she folded a cloth and put it in the right basket.
Emily shook her head in agreement as she ironed clothes with Tina. She was happy to have ended up in this pack and avoided any trouble that might get her punished. But she couldn't forget about Fanny, who might be in a worse situation.
Her heart bled for her friend, but Mary told her to focus on herself. Fanny sounded like someone who could hold herself well, Mary said.
After completing the laundry, Mary reminded the girls of the rules and instructed them to return the clean clothes to their respective owners.
Emily and Kat made their way down one wing, deftly carrying two baskets at a time.
Since they had collected the dirty laundry that morning, they knew exactly where each basket needed to go. Once they finished the first round, they went back for another set of baskets.
Emily knocked before entering the room, and placed the basket where she had found it.
As she turned to leave, she accidentally collided with someone and stumbled to the floor, rubbing her forehead.
“I'm sorry,” she stammered.
“Well, well, well,” a familiar voice said. Emily recognized it as Matt, the leader of the Moonlight pack’s warriors. “Look who finally showed up.”
Emily was taken aback, feeling a sense of fear wash over her. Matt's mate was known for her ferocity and Emily knew that getting on her bad side could result in dire consequences.
“Have you been hiding, Omega?” Matt demanded.
Emily shook her head in response, but this only seemed to anger Matt further. He grabbed her face tightly, forcing her to look at him.
“Open your mouth and answer me when I ask you a question,” he growled. “Understood?”
“Yes, sir,” Emily stuttered, feeling completely submissive in his presence.
“Good. I like them submissive,” Matt sneered, licking the side of Emily’s face.
Emily whimpered as Matt licked the side of her face. She tried to turn away, but he held her firmly.
Suddenly, another voice interrupted them. “What is going on here?”
Matt stood up and turned to face his mate, who glared down at Emily. Emily knew she was in big trouble.
Emily knew she was in serious trouble the moment she heard Matt's wife's voice at the door. Matt had abandoned her and turned to his wife, while Emily clutched herself in shame and fear, not knowing what was to come. She had never met anyone in the room before, so she had no idea that it belonged to Matt and his mate.Matt gave his wife a look and then turned back to Emily. "Can you believe it? She wanted me to touch her," he said, pointing down at Emily. His wife said nothing and walked further into the room, looking exhausted. "You know what? I'm not in the mood for your nonsense tonight. Get out of here," she commanded Emily. "OUT!" she bellowed.Emily stood on trembling legs and rushed out of the room, unable to believe her good fortune. Matt sat down on the bed and asked his friend, "You're just going to let her go like that?""I'm exhausted from training all day. I'm not going to waste energy on a mere Omega. I'll only end up breaking her in two," she replied."You should have d
Emily quickly covered the pot on the stove, which had caught fire. The pack members had already eaten, but Kane came looking for the Omegas.Mary had instructed Emily to prepare something for him since there were no leftovers, and Emily quickly got to work. She stood facing the stove, aware that Kane was watching her from where he sat on a stool at the table in the middle of the kitchen."When will that be ready?" he asked impatiently."It will be ready in a few minutes, sir," Emily replied. She rarely ran into Kane during her daily chores, and he didn't disturb her as long as she remembered all he had told her on her first day."You are doing well, fitting in with no issues," he commended her."Thank you for your advice on my first day, sir," she said gratefully."Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm starved right now. I need food," Kane said, tapping his fingers on the table."I'm sorry, sir. It's almost done," Emily told him."Fine," he said, looking irritated.A few minutes later, the food was r
Emily ran until her feet ached, the wind whipping through her hair, but she didn't stop. She arrived at a river and filled her jug, but She refrained from washing herself, as she believed the dirt was crucial to keep her scent hidden. As she climbed up a slope, she caught sight of a road in the distance, with vehicles passing by. Was this the same road Mary had mentioned? The gap between the humans and werewolves? She peered at the drivers in the passing vehicles, wondering if they were human, and if they would stop if she waved them down. However, looking at her dirty appearance, she knew they would think she was a thief or a crazy person. Emily descended the slope and hid, keeping watch as the cars passed by. When the road quieted down, she crossed to the other side, shaking her head before running deeper into the forest, Perhaps she would come across a human village on the way, but at least she was far away from the Rogues. She rested for a brief period, eating the remaining bre
Garrett had Davies by the neck, and Nani was trying to intervene to stop the fight. She slapped Garrett's soiled back, telling him to release Davies. Davies had revealed to Nani about the Omega, which was not his right to do so. However, he knew why his Beta did so; he was aware that if Nani was involved, it would not be easy to reject the Omega as his mate. Finally, Garrett had to let go of Davies. Nani touched Davies' face to check for any injury and gave Garrett t an annoyed look. "Were you going to choke him, Garrett?" she asked. "Nani, he doesn't even feel the pain," Garrett pointed out. Davies gave Garrett a smug look, but when Nani turned to him, he went sober, gaining more of Nani's pity. "Davies, dear, you were saying something about a mate," Nani reminded him of their previous conversation. "Yes, that's right, Nani," Davies replied. "Tell me, child, has he found his mate?" Nani asked. "Yes," Davies confirmed. "But where is she? Who is she?" Nani inquired. "Well," Dav
Emily regained consciousness once more, finding herself in the same room. However, this time, a lady was waiting for her in the chair beside her bed. Emily recognized the lady from the first time, and watched her warily as she gazed back cautiously. Emily wondered why someone was watching her. Was it to prevent her from escaping?“I'm harmless,” the lady reassured Emily. However, Emily wasn't sure whether to believe her. The lady showed Emily her empty hands and said, “I am your doctor. I have been treating you for days.”Emily continued to observe the doctor, keeping her gaze locked on her. What would happen now that she was awake? But it seemed that the doctor still had a lot to say. “I'm going to ask you a few questions. You can nod or shake your head in response. Is that okay?”Emily took her time before nodding her head. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail on top of her head, and she wore a large gown that failed to conceal how skinny she was.“Good. Are you feeling any pain?” th
Lois must have said the wrong thing, because, Emily was shaking furiously, she pulled away from Lois and that was it, they were going to lock her in to prevent her from escaping. They had been so good to her for a reason. Emily should not have trusted Lois, what was she thinking of in the first place, that she would be accepted here, forgetting she was only an Omega.“Please, calm down Emily, I’m not going to hurt you” Lois saidEmily would have loved to shout the word liar at her, they are all lairs from the pit of hell.“Please, listen to me Emily, I was only joking” Lois said with a quiet voice, she was distressed, her eyes filled with tears for Emily.Emily paused enough to notice that Lois was actually crying, why would Lois be crying? She was the one who should be crying not Lois.“I’m sorry for scaring you Emily, I never meant it, I was only saying that to avoid people coming here anyhow, I’m so sorry” Lois said as she turned and ran out of the room leaving Emily confused. If sh
Emily focused on controlling her breathing, taking deep breaths in and out, and repeating positive affirmations in her mind. She reminded herself that Davies was a harmless Beta and Lois's mate, and that she had nothing to fear. After a few moments, her body stopped shaking and she was able to look up at Lois with a weak smile."Excellent job, Emily. You did it," Lois praised, beaming at her. She then turned to Davies, who was standing by the door, and blew him an air kiss. "Can he come closer?" she asked Emily, who nodded in agreement.Davies approached them, stopping beside Lois. "Hello, Emily. I'm Davies, Lois's mate," he introduced himself."Hello, Davies," Emily wrote in response."It's nice to finally meet you. I'm here to escort you and Lois for your walk," Davies informed her."Okay," Emily wrote back."Alright then, you have everything you need to get ready in this bag. We'll be waiting for you in my office when you're done," Lois said, placing the bag on the bed. "Come on, D
The next day, Emily was waiting for Lois when she arrived late. Nani also came to visit her and brought fruit salad, which Emily was grateful for. She couldn't thank Nani enough and asked why she was being so kind to her. Nani didn't give a direct answer but said that Emily was beautiful and like a child to her. Emily wondered why Nani picked her when there were probably many beautiful and child-like adults in the pack, considering she was just a low-class Omega. Nani also told her that she had a bright future ahead of her, but Emily was cautious about getting her hopes up.Nani left after receiving a call from a friend, and Emily bid her farewell. She wished she could buy herself a cell phone one day, but she knew she had to work to earn the money. She considered working in a bar or cleaning houses, as Omegas were treated fairly in the pack, but she didn't want to be tied up in the pack house. She wanted to explore and smiled when Lois finally entered her room with another bag of clo
"Alvin," Emily said. Garrett had picked the name weeks ago, and she felt it suited their son perfectly. "He certainly has a strong set of lungs," Lois laughed as baby Alvin stirred in his sleep and smacked his lips, showing his hunger. Lois reached out, picked him up, and handed him to Emily. "Feed him, please." Emily grinned at her son, whose eyes were now open and gazing at her. She knew he couldn't see her clearly yet. She kissed his forehead and prepared to breastfeed him. Lois left her alone, and a few minutes later, Garrett entered the room after Emily had finished breastfeeding Alvin. The baby was sleeping peacefully in her arms, and Emily smiled at Garrett, who looked immensely proud. "How are you feeling?" he asked, sitting beside her after hugging her and kissing his son on the head. "I'm great and happy," Emily replied. "I can see that." "How do you feel? I don't think there's a word that can truly explain how I feel right now," Emily said. "Well, I feel proud," he r
A heavily pregnant Emily made her way to the hospital where her friend was working. Lois was attending to a boy who had broken his leg while playing outside with his friends. Since he was not yet at an age where he could easily heal himself, Lois had to administer a painkiller to alleviate his discomfort and put him down to rest.Emily silently followed Lois as she headed to her office. Once there, Lois washed her hands and took her seat behind the desk. Emily cleared some books from the chair to make room for herself to sit."You really shouldn't be walking around in your condition," Lois finally broke the silence, though she refused to look up at Emily. She knew why Emily had come to her office—to nag her. Davies must have put her up to it. Lois shook her head, and Emily gave her an annoyed look."If I fall sick, it'll be your fault," Emily said."Blame Davies. I'll tell Garrett to direct his fury at him, not me. I've given you my answers, and you just have to come to terms with it.
Emily turned to look at Garrett, noticing his apparent anger. Was he jealous? She walked over to him and took his hand, smiling up at him as he looked down at her. He held her tightly, then glanced at Gabriel, who still had a smile on his face. Did the man ever stop smiling? He looked remarkably youthful for his age."Since we're all here, let's bring in Sapphire. Elena and Davies, if you would be so kind," Gabriel suggested.Davies bowed and left, followed by Elena, as they made their way to the cells to retrieve Sapphire. They would use the back door to avoid exposing her to the pack members."You're doing a splendid job here," Gabriel remarked, crossing his arms over his chest. It was surprising how well he had learned to behave like a normal human being, with all the shaking, moving, blinking, and smiling – one of his favorites."Thank you," Garrett replied curtly. Emily stepped on his foot, prompting him to look at her. She shook her head, then took a seat in Garrett's chair. Gab
The next day, when Emily awoke, she found herself alone in bed. Garrett must have let her sleep in. Glancing at the bedside clock, she discovered that it was nearly 10 in the morning. Letting out a yawn, she pulled the covers over her head, intending to catch a few more winks. However, the door swung open with a bang, and a group of lively ladies barged in. Emily's eyes widened as she spotted Elena, Lois, Fanny, and Catherine entering the room. Lois held a shopping bag in her hand, and they all wore mischievous grins as they lined up at the foot of the bed. Emily lowered the covers, curious to see what was going on."Rise and shine, sleeping beauty," Fanny announced with a wide smile."Let's freshen her up," Lois suggested, setting the bag down and taking a seat on the bed. "You should have a bath.""I can manage on my own," Emily protested.Lois arched an eyebrow playfully. "Feeling shy all of a sudden?" she teased. "Oh, come on, girl." She pulled the covers down and effortlessly lif
When Garrett entered the room, it was filled with his mate's comforting scent. He noticed how different his room looked now. The curtains were drawn back, allowing fresh air and sunlight to fill the space. Vases adorned the window and table, displaying beautiful flowers carefully chosen by Lois and Catherine. Lois, who had been standing by the bedside, approached Garrett and bowed before glancing back at the peacefully sleeping beauty."You'll need to feed her this every hour," Lois pointed to a covered cup, checking her wristwatch. "The next round should be in the next 25 minutes," she informed him. There was another piece of news she needed to share, but now wasn't the right time. Elena had confirmed her suspicions, and Lois couldn't believe it. She would need to conduct medical tests before informing Garrett. "I'll leave you two," she bowed her way out, closing the door behind her.Garrett took a quick shower and dressed in loose attire before returning to the room to feed his m
Garrett addressed the other Alphas in a similar manner, except for Alpha Anon. He held Alpha Anon's mate in custody and declared his Beta as the new Alpha, informing him that he would be given the opportunity to confront and defeat Alpha Anon when the time comes. Garrett wanted his mate to meet both Alphas before he dealt with them, as they played a significant role in her life, helping her understand the burdens of being born as an Omega. With the Alphas taken care of, Garrett made his way to the special cell where Sapphire was held. He was uncertain about what he should do with her. Upon reaching the cell, he found Elena already standing at the door, and she straightened up as he approached."Garrett," she greeted him."Elena, I would like to speak to her if you don't mind," Garrett said."Are you not going to pass judgment on her right away?" Elena asked."No," Garrett replied."Thank you. I will lift the spell that kept her mute and give you both some time to speak," Elena said
Garrett reached into his pocket and extracted two witch-like syringes, hoping they would work. He muttered the command for one to open, and it did. Without hesitation, he swiftly inserted it into Alpha Anon's hand. Observing as the Alpha's hand fell limp from his body, Garrett watched him collapse to the ground. "Nice one," he thought, hoping his men remembered to use the limited supply of syringes he had given them. He spotted one of his warriors and instructed him to securely tie Alpha Anon out of sight from the others and keep a watchful eye on him. Returning to the fight, he anxiously wondered if Elena and Lois had located his mate.Drake halted in his tracks when Sapphire came to a stop before him. He cursed at her, but his attention shifted when he realized they were not alone. "Sapphire," a voice called out."Elena," Sapphire greeted her sister."Where are you going? You're not fleeing, are you?" Elena inquired."Attack her!" Drake growled, abruptly dropping Emily to the grou
Lois was taken aback by Garrett's words, her eyes widened in surprise as she tried to process what he had just said. Garrett looked at her with a lot of questions, silently asking if she was alright. Lois nodded in response, indicating that she was fine. This revelation from Garrett had left her feeling excited and eager to see how he would express his love for Emily once they were reunited. She had noticed Garrett's protective behavior towards Emily at the pack house, particularly when Drake had gotten too close to her. Surely, that meant something, didn't it?Lois informed Garrett that she was going to check on Elena, who was still recovering from her ordeal. When she returned, she found Garrett sitting by the fire, trying their best to keep their location hidden while still being able to enjoy a meal. Lois sat down next to Garrett, and he turned to her, inquiring about Elena's well-being."How is she?" he asked, passing a plate of fish to Peter before turning his attention back t
At the break of dawn, the troop set out again in search, with Elena leading the way. They walked for hours across unfamiliar lands until they reached another pack. Garrett went ahead to speak to those on patrol. The head of the Skyhigh pack patrol approached Garrett and bowed."I expected your Alpha to be here," Garrett told him."The Alpha is currently unavailable, sir," the man replied.Garrett nodded. "My troop and I are on a quest, so we will pass through your lands and take the forest path. Will there be any problem with that?" he asked. The man bowed, not wanting to offend the Alpha king. "Not at all, sir. But some of my men will have to accompany you until you are out of our land, if you don't mind," he said."I don't," Garrett informed him. He turned away and walked back to his troops. Ten warriors from the Skyhigh pack joined them to guide them out of their lands and remain on high alert in case the strangers decided to attack.Garrett wasn't overly surprised that Alpha Lang
