Gia grabbed the space over her heart and tried to rein in her groan again. Her chest was squeezing in, tightening her heart, pressing her lungs, shortening her breath. It had been a month since she started getting these symptoms and had kept it a secret from Cynthia or The Vrek Cult. She could never trust those snakes and always kept to herself. She was sure that if she was not useful to The Baron, she would have been long kicked out. Or worse...killed.But why was she getting this pains? She had lended her blood to the spy they sent, so she could access the borders of Balendin Pack. But she wasn't supposed to be affected if the receiver didn't return. It was supposed to be the receiver who would be blood corrupted. Or did she not know enough about blood letting? She stifled a groan again, clutching and hitting her heart region. A knock sounded on her door and she glared at it.“What is it? I don't want dinner if that's what you're here with,” she snarled.“Open up, bitch!” Cynthia's
Olive quickly settled in at the Senshi Temple like it was a second home to her. She loved the serenity of the temple that spanned thousands of acres, and had gotten lost a few times trying to find her next lesson ground. The temple was like a university in size and purpose, with students teaming about. But each of them kept to themselves, especially as they were from different parts of the world and even different times. They were there for different purposes too, and it was shocking to find some students had no idea there were at Senshi but had a different name for it.Koushi and Lutz were always around her, helping her to settle down, to find her way around, or get study materials from the library which was so big Olive could be lost in it and never found. They trained with her too and taught her skills they had learned themselves after living in Senshi for 200 years, waiting for her.The men were really helpful, though Lutz wouldn't do anything without grumbling about it at first.
The Baron's army was now like a swarm of bees noisily buzzing around like a formation. They were crazy, horrendous, violent and extremely strong enough to rip one in two with just one movement. Their claws were as sharp and thick as talons, and the fangs in their mouth protruded like a dragon's teeth. How The Baron managed to formulate whatever created those things was a wonder. He had alchemists, healers, sorcerers and even very dark wizards who did his every bidding. But he brought the ideas first and they had to work hard to bring them to fruition.“My army in whom I am well pleased. Undefeatable. Invisible. Fierce. Nothing can stop us now!” The Baron bellowed from the top of the tower where he stood with his allies, including the Grand Masters of The Vrek Cult, Cynthia and Gia.His hybrid army gave an ear-aching shriek all at once at his proclamation, going into a ravaging frenzy. The spring night was lovely, but chills crept up Gia's spine and she felt suffocated. Fear coated her
Alpha Knight returned from his quarterly report meeting with the mayors of the cities in Balendin Pack and sauntered straight to his quarters. He was exhausted. That word was even a freaking understatement. He was deteriorated. Every minute, he felt his life snapping away at the edges and his wolves losing their grip on his soul. They were amazing creatures and had been working so hard to keep him, especially Fervour who managed to tether unto the connection with Olive and feed it to his soul. It was the reason he hadn't gone wild totally. A part of him knew she would be back and she wasn't snatched away from him forever.“Are you okay, Wayne?” Dolly's voice sounded in his ears as he crossed the kitchen door. He turned and saw his sister coming out of it with two cups of coffee.“I'm fine,” he managed a reply. She hurried towards him and handed him one cup.“I checked your trash, Wayne. All of Mufasa's prescriptions are there. You aren't taken them anymore.”Wayne grimaced then gulped
Olive and Wayne unlocked from their welcome kiss, totally breathless yet needing more.Olive's fingers dug into Wayne's unruly hair and she smiled at him.“I've missed you so much,” she whispered. He smirked and held up her face, almost wanting to kiss her again.“If you know how much I've missed you —”“You'd give each one of us sacks of gold coins,” Jake cut in with a smile. Olive whipped her head towards where he stood just few feet from them.“Jake,” she called and embraced him. He patted her back, genuinely beaming with joy.“Glad to see you back whole. This place was awful without you,” he said then stole a glance at Wayne. Olive furrowed her brows.“Why do I feel like he gave you all a lot of trouble while I was aw...” she trailed off when Wayne turned around and the light directly illuminated his face.“Wayne...what is this? What happened to you? Baby!”She gasped as she thoroughly began looking at him. She was so overcome with joy she hadn't seen that her mate had deteriorate
Shem poured out drinks into cups and took one for himself as everyone else began grabbing theirs. They were all gathered in the Circular Cabinet after a rough day of engaging in extreme trainings, checkups and investigations. It was a day after the strange attack from the prisoners and investigations surrounding their sudden behavior were ongoing. How did they even break out from the prison? Even the prison guards were under possession and had joined in the fight.Unfortunately, most of the prisoners had to be killed in order to curb the fight and the few that survived were in the infirmary under strict and secure conditions.“Do you two actually wear anything order than those strange black villain outfits?” Shem questioned, looking at Lutz and Koushi who were picking up drinks. They had initially insisted on standing guard in front of the Alpha and Luna's quarters because they must keep ‘their’ firewolf safe at all times. It was a ridiculous idea, considering those two were still und
Olive laughed then looked up at her young brother-in-law.“Hi, Shem. Nice to see you again. You look way bigger and finer, dude. What have you been doing?”She hadn't actually spoken with him or really even seen him since she arrived. He was in his wolf form fighting that night when they came and didn't shift back before she took Wayne to their quarters.Shem shot her a smile.“I've been fine. Just being handsome as usual. But what I did the most was miss your presence especially the times that loaf by your side there gave us slices of hell each day for sandwiches.”Then he and Crusoe explained all Wayne had actually gone through and how he had almost taken them all down to hades. Olive was horror-struck and dumbfounded at the revelation. She never knew it was that bad. He had definitely ran completely mental! She was glad she had returned before it got to a point of no return. But she had one question and that was what had happened to him other than the call of the mate bond. She cou
“Did you say the Ignis fatuus can destroy as long as its the target?” Crusoe asked, sitting up and peering his eyes.Olive furrowed her brows. As long as it's the target? So did the dragon think it through to mark a particular target and destroy it no matter what it was?Wait...if that was the case...then—Lutz's voice cut into her thoughts.“Yes. It can. Anything can be destroyed with it. Cancer, organs, poisons... Especially those with no cure. Example, the Touch-me-not poison. Olive's future dragon is the only way,“ he revealed and the information was like a bomb was dropped in the mist of them all. In fact, Olive heard a loud thump in her ears like a bomb truly dropped. But that could just be her blood pressure.“Are you...real?” Shem stuttered.“As real as a two century old alchemist and historian can be,” Lutz replied.Olive's hands began to visibly shake and she found it hard to control the tremors. There was hope. There was freaking hope for them.Goodness! There was hope!Wayn
