As the afternoon wore on, the once vibrant atmosphere of the house was now shrouded in a thick blanket of sorrow. People gathered in the lounge and hushed conversations could be heard throughout the rooms. I wanted to give Gemma’s parents some privacy to mourn their daughter at the hospital.
