Elio

The air is thick with the smell of gunpowder and fear. The entrance hall flickers with the glow of a single overhead light, casting eerie shadows on the dimly lit walls. Wieners is breathing hard, gripping the gun tight, his finger shaking on the trigger, pointing it straight at me. The air is so tense, time feels like it’s crawling. My heart is going crazy in my chest; beads of sweat roll down my forehead as adrenaline courses through my veins.
