How did this happen?

Doesn't the king have a lot of respect for the Rodriguez family? Why would he do this to Mrs. Rodriguez?

I saw the king tearing Mrs. Rodriguez's clothes. She clung to her underwear against the king and bit down hard on his hand.

“Ah, it hurts.” The king let go. He looked at Mrs. Rodriguez, “Nobody says no to me. If you don't want your son Nuri to have an 'accident', I suggest you get undressed and stay in bed. You know you're in the palace. I am the king, and my power is greater than anything.”

What does he mean? Is he threatening Mrs. Rodriguez with Nuri?

Oh, Nuri may be in danger.

I wanted to escape, to find Nuri.

My mind was a mess, and I had only one thought: I would find Nuri, and I would tell him that he and his mother were in danger.

Nuri and I grew up together and although he can be arrogant at times, he is a warm person inside. When I was young, I was thin and weak. He never laughed at me. Instead, he warned my bullies to respect me.
