24 Don't Cry

The blood spurted all over the floor, and Bernice let out a cry of pain. Her feet were still bound, and she could only cover the wound with her last hand, curled up and squirmed on the ground.

Alen nervously went up to check on me and Kral, "Your Highness? Delia?"

My whole being was in the arms of Kral. Kral's powerful arms held me tight, my head resting on his broad chest, his warm breath filling my breath. I slowly broke away from his embrace. It was so dangerous, but I didn't feel so desperate and scared.

"I'm fine, Alen."

I shook my head, afraid to look at Kral's face.

But when I looked up, I saw Alen's surprised expression. I quickly turned to find Kral with his head down, clutching his arm, and a tiny gap appeared in the perfectly smooth fabric.

"Your Highness... ?" Alen's voice grew alarmed, and I covered my mouth and stared at the purplish-black blood that flowed from the gap.

Kral looked up with difficulty and said to Alen calmly, "That woman put some wolfsbane in her fingers
