105 The Strange Soup

Sibyl’s POV

"TSK, TSK, let's see, who's here?" Azariah said in a purposely high-pitched squeaky voice, glancing at me, "Turned out to be our prisoner, Sibyl. You'd better take a good look at your situation. In our country, prisoners and slaves are the same. You are only the tool to warm King’s bed, and you think you have the right to be impudent before me."

Azariah smiled scornfully, displaying her typical arrogance and ruthlessness. She turned to her maid and said, "Take away these things that belong to the queen. Don't let this lowly woman get them dirty. And bring the soup."

One of the maids was holding a bowl, and I could see some dark, medicinal-smelling liquid in it.

"You hold her down so she doesn't get away. She's a very cunning person. Be careful."
