At night, my wolf jumps out of Jasmine's house much to my dismay even though I told her not to.
She wonders around the city, skillfully bypassing people without them knowing but before I figure out what's happening, she is infront of Nathan's doorstep. Surprisingly, Nathan is standing there too.
His eyes bores into my wolf's own, seeming like he is looking straight at me, maybe he is.
"I knew something was up with you." He says.
I try to scream out his name but I'm not in control of this body and it's not like my wolf can speak words. She can only growl, grunt and howl along with other sounds. The conversation that involves words goes on in our minds, mentally.
"Aren't you going to come in?"
This guy.
What is he doing.Nathan steps away from the door, motioning for us to go in.
I'm not really sure of my wolf's intentions towards Nathan but I think that they aren't evil since she walks into the house without any show of a
I'm naked. Naked in a bathtub with my also naked mate. That is more than enough reason to make me blush. My wolf has done something stupid and now I am the one facing the consequences. I can hear her giggling in my head.I'm glad that she is happy now but must it be at my expenses."You don't look alright." Nathan tells me and I smile shyly."I'm awesome, so awesome." I twirl my hair in my finger. "I just think the water is great to look at, yeah!"My eyes are set on the bubbles. They cover up my bare skin from his eyes and I am greatful for that one thing."What am I to expect?" I ask him but I still don't look up.He hums. "What's that?""The birthday party." I shrug and water pushes back and flows to the ground. "What going to happen, who am I going to meet... I mean things like that.""It's just a birthday party, you don't have to do anything you don't want to there and besides I will be at your side the whole
Nathan opens the car door for me when we are out of the house and I step into the car."Aren't we waiting for Jasmine?" I ask and he closes the door beside me, and walks to the driver's seat."She'll be here in a few minutes." He sighs. "Have you eaten?"I roll my eyes. "Oh, now you're asking me that, after I have been poked for more than an hour.""Sorry about that. I'm sure you'll have a lot to eat at the party." He smacks his lips together in sympathy."Speaking about the party, who exactly is the birthday girl."Seems like you've packed a lot of questions for me.""You're kidding me, I only asked one question.""And I'm sure that more are coming. Right?" He stares at me intensely."Are you going to answer me or not?"He closes his eyes and leans headfirst on the steering wheel."She's a friend. Just a friend."I squint my eyes at him and scoff. "You've said that before. What's her name."
I return to Jasmine and Nathan, aware of Evelyn who is probably smiling at them behind me.It's almost like my senses begin to come back and I realize what I have done. I just made a stupid deal that could cost me my life and freedom. I can't believe that I can be this gullible. As I take a sip out of my champagne, I recall the last conversation I had with Evelyn."To make things fair, I'll find a way for you all to spend the night here and both of you can have a room to yourself."I have no idea why she is helping me and I am certainly freaking out a little. I just made a deal with a goddess, a deal that involves giving up my freedom if I lose? It's crazy but I think that she cast a spell on me or something."Hey, are you alright. You look pale." Jasmine comes to my side and I smile at her when I see her worried glance."I'm just tired of waiting for the cake." I laugh nervously and point to the pink cake on the table far in the corner.
I find myself staring at Nathan when I wake up. He sleeps peacefully beside me, without a care in the world.I trace his lower lip with my finger as slowly as I can. If I wake him up now then who knows what will happen. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that we slept together, I need this time to think.I'm so lost in thought that when he grasps my finger, I almost jump out of the bed."You don't have to be scared. I'm the only one in this bed with you."My face turns crimson and I turn away, pulling my finger out of his grip and into the little space between us."I'm not scared." I mumble. I'm just embarrassed right now and you're making it worst!'Oh, cut the crap. You enjoyed last night, I can remind you what happened if you want...' My wolf snickers and I gasp, pulling myself up on the bed."What happened last night was a mistake, nothing more. I didn't expect to go into heat if not I would have been prepared."I c
I exhale. The warm air is driving my uneasiness away. It feels good to be out of the car but we have to walk on foot now, together...I wish I can tell him to take us back home, that I don't want to see Shelia today but that would put me back in the car with him... alone.I don't have the energy to replay the awkwardness again, at least not right now."You didn't tell me what Evelyn demanded for if you had failed."Dry leaves crunches under my feet."That's because you didn't ask."I hear a hum come from him before he speaks to me again."When are we going to talk about last night."A chill flows down my spine as I gulp."What? Talk about what?""Please don't play dumb with me. I already know all your tactics."I smack my lips together.Really, you know them all or just the ones I want you to know..."If it's okay, I'd like us to head to the castle after this."I turn to look at him. He is
Even after the reminder that I can chew him raw Andrew continues to kill my poor soul. I can only roll my eyes as an acknowledgement to anything he says or do."Andrew, can I talk to you for a second?" Nathan leaves Todd, David and Shelia behind and walks to us. "I promise that it won't take much time.""Um, sure." Andrew frowns and so do I, but other than that he doesn't make any sound as he leaves the room with Nathan.I watch their retreating figures with confusion. When I take a step to follow them Shelia moves to my side immediately and drags me away."Hey, let's go play by the riverside. Just you and me, Isabella. It will be fun."My eyes moves one last time to the room Nathan and Andrew went into. I wonder what they are talking about?"Are you listening to me at all?" Shelia frowns at me and I give her a goofy smile."Sorry about that, we can play now."Todd and David have already left to their rooms when Andrew and Nath
I glare at the clothes in my hands, wishing it was my wolf as I squeeze it in my hands."Now I regret asking you to tell me."'I kind of knew this would happen.' She replies. As instructed by Nathan, when I am dressed, I head out to meet the others and just as I expected, they are ready to go.Shelia is fascinated by Nathan's eyes and can't stop asking question even after he tells her that it's his eyes original colour."Then why did you hide it all this while?" She asks.Nathan turns to me when he see me coming. "Let's get going."Even David is coming? I never pegged him for one who would follow us...He notices my stare and rolls his eyes."I'm only coming because no one will stay here with me, nothing more."My lips stretches into a smile. He really wants to come, I can tell. His denial and attitude is just for show.It turns out that Jasmine did come but unfortunately she won't be coming with us.
I bite down on my lip, willing myself not to cry. At that moment, a hand drags me back and I'm been pressed into my aunt's chest."There, there, Bella, remember that you're supposed to miss me first."I hear my uncle sigh before I am released. He doesn't want to argue with my aunt, it's a battle he won't be able to win."You must be Shelia. I've seen your visit in the stars." I turn in time to see Summer holding Shelia's hand with a weird expression and Shelia watches her with the same.My aunt steps in before Summer can say anything else. "Sorry about my daughter, she says things like this sometimes. You see, she's a star fey."Shelia grins. "You're a really life fey, that so cool but then you can't turn into a wolf? ""Yeah, wolves are animals anyway, very digusting animals..." Summer notices her mistakes and wears a nervous smile. "Well, some of them are."Summer laughs out, nervously. If she didn't say that then my aunt would have
Jasmine, Nathan and Andrew stare at the bed where Isabella's pale body lies perfectly still except for the small whispers that leaves her lips ever so often.Nathan clenches his fist and grits his teeth. He can't imagine the pain she is going through right now."No matter what I did I still fell into her trap."*LET'S REWIND A LITTLE, TO THE SCENE WHERE THEY LEFT FOR THE LOCATION THAT WAS SENT TO THEM*"Are you sure that this is the place?" Andrew looks around as they walk forward. "It looks kind of run down.""I can feel Isabella's presence."Everyone in the building can the creaking noises coming from the ceilings and where they step on.Andrew's face twists in distaste. "I feel like this building is going to fall apart if we go any further. I know that you said you know this goddess but maybe there are really traps here.""Yeah, you're right. We should move faster if that's the case." Nathan answers and Andrew th
Jasmine stares at the god in front of her. His face is blank but the aura oozing out from him is anything but calm. How should she start...She has been silent the whole time so that she can avoid his wrath if he tries to put it on her. She's centuries old but still afraid of him. No, there's nothing bad about that. You just have to know when things are looking too grim."It's all my fault."He finally speaks, though it comes in a whisper. It takes Jasmine a few seconds to realize this. Normally, she would but she was too lost in her thoughts...Okay, now she's rambling too much."I'm sure whatever happened wasn't entirely your fault." She says and immediately grimace when she realize she said entirely.Stupid, stupid, stupid. What if guilt pulls him in even more.Clearing her throat, she speaks. "So when we going to get her back?"Nathan stares at the floor blankly."First, we need
The day for Isabella and Nathan to finally leave arrives and they decide to spend their morning and last day walking through the city.It sounded like a good idea when Isabella thought of it but now she's starting to regret it.The smile that was once on her face is now gone."I don't like how they are staring at you, are you an exhibition or something." Isabella stops herself from glaring at the nearby females gawking at Nathan."Maybe I'm a god exhibition." Nathan suggests playfully and laughs but when he sees the expression on her face, he stops."That's not funny, Nathan. My wolf is telling me to pull their eyeballs out.""I'm sure you can keep her in check for a few more minutes, after all, you are the one who suggested this." Nathan smirks."Hey, don't put the blame on me, I'm already sulking enough." She reprimands him and he shrugs but his smirk still remains."I suppose that you're right. I also wanted to come he
*Third Person's Point Of View*The next day, Nathan wakes Isabella very early with the excuse that they are going out on a date."What are those things in your hands, Nathan." Isabella asks, looking suspicious than ever as she points to the small basket Nathan is holding by his side as they walk."It's something that's going to be very useful." That's all he says."Don't tell me that you're going to kill me and hide my head in that basket.""You have a very wild imagination, Isabella." He chuckles but she still married her eyes and when he sees this he sighs and answers."I'm not going to do anything rash. Why would you think that I will kill you. I find it hard to find out if it's a joke or not.""You're just acting really weird." She tilts her head. "Did my family put you up to this.""This is all me, Isabella. Just watch and see." With that he picks up the pace. "Now, walk faster so that we'll get there before the sun
"Why am I doing this again?" Isabella stares blankly at herself through the mirror as her aunt puffs out her dress for like the tenth time."Because I say so.""I don't want to do this, aunt." Isabella says as she shakes her head in mortification. She can barely remember how she got into this dress. "Just tell him."Her aunt covers up her mouth immediately and gives her an evil glare. "Shut up, Isabella. The walls have ears, I don't want them to find out."Isabella rolls her eyes. She really can't believe that she's doing this."If this turns out to be a full blown party for me, I'm going to be really mad.""Don't worry, it won't." Her aunt assured her so Isabella decides to take her word for it.Outside of the castle and in the forest, the werewolves gather around tables, mumbling things between themselves or eating and drinking. They recently found out that Princess Isabella is actually mated to a god. Some are en
*THIRD PERSON'S POINT OF VIEW*A few meters from where Isabella and Nathan are playing and deep within her room, Summer watches on with a bored look on her face."Seriously, why am I moping around right now." She sighs and looks up at the ceiling with her back on her bed. She just wish that she could see David again and he would actually stare at her the next time.Suddenly, a small knock comes from the door and it is pushed open before David pokes his head into the room."Is it okay if I come in?"Looking up, she immediately flushes and her face pales. "Er... What are you doing in here?"David lets out a heavy sigh. "Of course, sorry I even asked."Before he can retreat back, she jumps out of her bed. "Wait, wait. Don't leave!"This makes David stop on his tracks. "Sorry about that. I was just surprised to see you, please come in."She opens the door for him to fully come in before she speaks. "Is there anyt
"And why is that?" I ask."Don't act dumb, you know that he can never accept me." She sits on her bed, placing her hands on her face as she sulks.Okay, this was not what I was expecting."I don't hey why you would think that. Did he tell you himself."She frowns at me as she moves her hands away from her face. "No, but he is a human."It's my turn to frown. "I don't see how that has to do with anything."Slowly, I sit on the bed, beside her. So this is the reason she called me here. I guess that I was right. David is her mate after all.Suddenly, she is staring at me like I've lost my mind or worst..."Don't you get it, Isabella! He doesn't feel the bond like I do and he..." She pauses and looks down at her fingers. With a small whisper, she tells me. "He isn't immortal as I am. I'll live forever while he'll grow old and die. I can't live like that, I can't! So it's better you tell me how to reject him withou
"Nathan?" I blink."Yes?""I love your British accent." I say and I flush, curling my toes as I wait for his reply."Then I live your voice." He says and my face gets even hotter."Don't you think that's sappy?" I giggle, biting down on my lip."But it's true." He says."You know what. Let's go on a date." I don't know when I blurt if out but silence ensues after. He doesn't answer and I suddenly want the ground to open and swallow me."I mean... I-" I can only stutter as I try to justify myself."I'd like that but we'd have to go on dates. There are going to be more than one." He finally speaks.I sit up immediately."What are you talking about?"So he isn't declining my offer after all. He is looking forward to it. This fact floods into my heart and brings me relief."We can have a date right now if you want but first, I'd like to know your wolf more better.""You want me to shift?" I a
