A deep tired sigh left my lips as I walked back and forth in the hospital room. The doctor had advised me to take some exercise. My legs needed it, especially if I wanted to be there for my company’s expansion gala. I could not miss the most important event of my company.

Information had already leaked out. Newspapers and magazines has already gotten their hands on what had happened. Yet another thing this to search, who had leaked all this information to the media?!

I guess some people were just as desperate to get me into another scandal or make the headlines, as they were to have me killed.

I groaned, leaning against my bed. With the four days that had passed, I had come to believe that this was indeed planned; someone had planned to end my very life. There was no denying it, especially when Cameron had informed me, the car driven by my attacker was stolen a vehicle, from up North Canada. It was reported stolen a few days back by the owner.

They had found the car now, it was left in a ditch and burned. While insurance covered the owner he had still demanded money from me. I shook my head, I guess some people think if they get involved with the rich, they can demand for anything. The one that owned him money was my attacker, not me!

And my list if problems keeps numbering up again and again..

My father had tried to get his hands on the findings and the latest updates but I had stopped him in time. He wanted to find out everything, for it would boost his image. Over-protective and vengeful father searching for the one responsible for his daughter’s attempted murder. Wouldn’t that be a catch?

But thankfully, Cameron had kept true to his word and had not told anyone of the new findings or updates of my case.

I picked up my phone and scrolled through the pictures Cameron had sent me. The gala’s ballroom looked splendid, bright colours of seafoam and turquoise decorated every corner, and sparking silver coated as an outer beauty. The hydrangea macrophylla (blue colour blossom) flower was placed at every table, matching with the soft and vibrant blues. I wanted to be there making sure every inch was spectacular. I couldn’t afford to let this go down the drain.

I had originally planned on wearing a deep red colour for the gala, however, I was quickly starting to change my mind now.

Sighing, I opened my messages to Cameron and texting him asking him about the preparations.

Jisoo ------>>>>----- Cameron

How is everything going? Not a single thread should be out of place! I want this gala to be to at its absolute perfection. People should be still talking about this event in more than a year’s time.

Almost immediately, he had replied. He knows, I did not like being waited on, especially on regards to events such as these.

Cameron ---->>>>---- Jisoo

Yes, Ms. Kwon, everything is going perfectly as you have planned. I have made sure to keep everything as you suggested and designed.

“God..” I sighed, “This idiot better be telling me the truth!” I grumbled. The accident had caused a great amount of delay and loss, if I let the gala slip too, my company’s expansion wouldn’t succeed. Pressure was weighing down on my shoulders like a ton of bricks. I had missed out on an entire week and the past four days, I needed to get back on things again, I needed to make sure my company stays on top. I couldn’t let anything bring me down.

Another ding from my phone caused me to raise an eyebrow. The word Mother slide across the screen causing me to roll my eyes. I ignored, leaving the device down on the table and ran a hand through my hair.

Mother had tried to visit me everyday so far, but I simply could not see her, nor could I talk to the woman. Dozens of calls and messages were left by her, but I didn’t answer, nor did I read through a single one of them. I wasn’t going to give her the opportunity to throw more insults my way. I had enough of this family! Even when I learnt to make a place in the world for myself -without their help- they still desperately wanted to bring me down. They wanted to see my confidence crumble away and let me fall into an abyss of misfortunes.

But I wouldn’t let their hatred or jealousy take victory, because that would mean my very ruin. I stood tall and strong until now, and I’m going to keep pushing myself forward. I don’t care what they will throw at me, or Antonio Venturi for that matter.

My head was aching with one thought after another pushing me to the edge of insanity. But the deep seafoam eyes I had dreamt of gave me the comfort I needed. Its intensity filled with a certain calmness and pleasure that gave me a piece of tranquility. The man that existed in my dream was somehow able to pull me away from the real world. He allowed me to catch my breath and rest my eyes as his hands explored my body, and his lips brutally, yet passionately, kissed mine.

I had let many scenarios of Tristan I run through my mind, allowing for myself to escape the real world and explore my fantasies...

I would let him wrap his arms around my waist and pull me against his body. The heat radiating off his body made my insides quiver in anticipation. I would gasp as he pushes me against the wall, trapping me in between the wall and his body. With a quick movement, he would flip me around and press his chest against mine. “Tristan..” I would have gasped his name -an unknown yet perfect name- when my eyes lock with his vibrant seafoam eyes. The glints of black and emerald slowly grew.. dominating his beautiful iris just like the way I had dreamed.

I wanted my fantasies to take me further... know him further…

Pinning me against the wall, his hands clasped my wrists together and pushed his hips against mine. He would stare into my eyes intensely, studying every feature of my face, as I would study his, before clashing his lips onto mine. I would run my hands tentatively up his chest before grabbing on his thick soft hair just as he would push his tongue through my lips. I will moan as our tongues would start a fight for dominance, a fight I will not back down from so easily. His hands would roam my body, especially my chest.. my breasts possessively, yet passionately. I wanted passion to run through our touches... our kisses... In your fantasies anything was possible... and he was my fantasy.

His hands would travel to my thighs and push up the dress I would be wearing until my hips, giving him clear and total access to my most sensitive area. Just like in the dream, I would allow him to play with my wetness, after pushing my panties to the side, moistening his fingers with it, while his other hand held my panties in place and his nails would dig into my flesh, allowing some pain to add into the pleasure. His lips would soon attack my neck as his perfect lips would break away from my own lips and trail kisses down to my neck. “Jisoo..” His gentle but rasped voice would be the only thing I would hear as he loosens his belt. I would let him lift me up and tangle my legs around his waist and pull him closer before he plunges his length deep into me. My nails would graze the skin of his neck and back as he thrust into me, harder and harder... deeper and deeper…

My once soft moans would turn into screams, timing perfectly against his thrusts….

’BANG!

The sudden sound of the door slamming open caused me to snap my eyes open and rip away from my fantasy.

My heart raced, and my face flushed with panting breaths as I met eyes with my intruder.

“Mother..” I whispered as I looked into her eyes, they reminded of Jackson’s; deep brown embedded with a little golden glints. But her eyes held no jealousy that flared in Jackson’s, just a frown of confusion as she witnessed my flushed face.

I cleared my throat and straightened my posture, just as the guards and nurses came rushing in and tried to pull her out, “Ma’am, you can’t be in here. Ms. Kwon, doesn’t want any visitors.” The guard spoke for me.

“She’s my daughter, I have every right to see her.” Mother suddenly snapped.

I scoffed at her words.

“But-”

“It’s fine.” I cut the guard off, “You may go.” I said, giving them a curt nod. As soon as each of them left, mother decided to speak, opening her mouth, but I beat her to it, “I am not your daughter!”

The words that left my mouth caused an unshed emotion to burn in her eyes, and for once, I wished to know what it was.

“I raised you!” She exclaimed, not daring to break eye contact with me.

“I raised myself! Built myself!” I snapped, “I didn’t need you, nor my father’s riches or fame. We are not some picture perfect family, mother!” Though it hurt to speak to her in such ways, I kept my head straight. What I built and owned, will always stay as my own.

“When you were a little girl I could have turned you down! But I didn’t! I accepted my husband’s mistake, and took you in when I didn’t have to!” Her voice rose many decibels and a part of me wondered, if she was worried of breaking my father’s image, anyone could be listening in, especially since she made such a show of walking in here...

Father’s image as the most respected man in business was something that never interested me, but I stood there pretending, for the rise of my own company. I couldn’t care less if one day his image would all crumble away from his grip. But it was important to mother, even after he hurt her in the worst way possible, she did everything to help. Maybe she was desperate for her husband’s love and affection again…

“Well, maybe you shouldn’t have!” I shouted, “You had a chance to keep me away, but you didn’t! That was your mistake! Completely desperate for a man, who no longer loves you!” I screamed, only to cause a sharp sting to land on my cheek.

My head whipped to the side, as I shakily touched my swollen flesh with my trembling fingers. One might think I trembled because of fear or shock, but it was really from the burning anger that coursed through my veins; raging from my depths. My breathing released slow, heavy pants as I looked back up at her.

“How dare you speak to me like that?!” She asked, her features distorted as her mortified eyes gazed at me.

My body trembled as I gritted my teeth, glaring at the woman in front of me, “Get out!” I screeched at the top of my lungs. Tears already built up in my eyes, tears of absolute anger that burned within me.. a roaring flame. Something awoke within me, a strange sensation of an invisible fire consuming my body, but it brought no harm to me.

“You can’t escape from everything, Jisoo!” While Mother had shouted the words, to my ears they sounded faded, the sounds of burning flames of a forest fire dominated over it. The crispy and cracking of woods as the fires grew higher and higher... stronger and stronger...

I scoffed, “I actually pity you, mother.” Her eyebrow rose at my words, “I’m sorry to have come back alive and well. With me out of the picture, your son can claim it all, and you no longer have to even think of me... or worry about me stepping above him.” I spoke, through my gritted teeth.

“I don’t wish for you to be dead, Jisoo!” She yelled, taking a menacing step forward. Mother had always hated when someone thought she spoke words of lies, to manipulate others, much like my father. She hated when someone misinterpreted her words or choice of decision, that is why she always explains before deciding on something.

“You’re my daughter, Jisoo! I raised you!” She repeated, but through my blinding rage of flames, I refused to believe her.

“You only took me in to impress your so-called loving husband, again!” I shouted, balling my fists as the temperature in the room rose. I could feel the heat rising in my body, a strong wildfire, but I wasn’t sweating, nor exhausted, if anything, I was simply powered on by my anger.

“God,” She shook her head, “You know what, I do. I do wish for you to be dead! I do!” She shouted, “Because then, I would not have to hear such coming words from you!”

Her words rose the anger within me and the sound of the flames grew higher, along with the heat, but nothing caused me harm. Before I had a chance to open my mouth, mother slammed the door open and left, leaving me to burn with the anger.

My eyes stayed on the door, still replaying what she had said and how she had walked out. I didn’t know how long I did that for, but as the bright sunlight that bore into my back disappeared, I knew the moon had risen, but the flames that were consuming me refused to leave. The burning sensation grew wilder and wilder…pushing me towards a dangerous thought.

I felt being pushed back as the flames took the reins. The fire spiraled around the thought ready to take action and it did…

The raging fire suddenly flared in front of me, its flames sharp, yet cunningly smooth at the same time. A rich element that drew one in... into its beauty, so blissfully unaware the danger it would bring. It seemed to have life of its own as it put my thought in action, spreading its flames around the room, before out the door and down the corridors of the hospital. It gave me its eyes, allowing me to see everything... every direction it took as it travelled the brightly lit streets, towards my father’s house.

Fear, worry or absolute terror should have taken over me, but my anger and rage blinded out every other emotion, making sure the fire achieved its goal.

Once I could see my father’s house in the distance, the fire’s strength increased with an alarming speed, finding its way to the room where she laid asleep, so blissfully unaware of the danger approaching her.

The flames rose to its full power, spreading across the bedroom, covering every inch possible; preventing any escape. She woke, screaming in terror as she saw the fire that was trying to consume her alive. Tears shed her eyes as fear coursed through her veins. She screamed for help.

I didn’t know how long I let it burn... the screams were all I could hear... all I would remember...

Only to regret it...

I could see the gears working in her mind through her eyes, before she reluctantly nodded.

The woods brought nothing but utter darkness. In the nighttime woods, the trees stayed black, its trunks against a strange bluish charcoal sky, such darkness. I didn't have to worry about anything. I probably got drunk after the gala and dreamt the whole thing. My heart wrenched at the sight. Only slight whimpers had feel from Cynthia’s lips, but Viviane was beside her in seconds, hugging and comforting her with sweet words and soft promises.I gulped, hearing the cry of a little girl at the busy market place in the back of my mind.“What is it?” Tristan grunted. I gulped, trying to control my laboured breathing as I looked into his eyes. My heart thundered in my chest as irritation washed over his face, “What?!” A disapproving growl.I found myself almost jumping in surprise at the power and authority that radiated through him. An aura that brought people to their very knees.“Viviane, wants to see you.”My head shot up at the name, while I didn't feel a bubblingjealousy, anger coursed through my veins. I stared at my leg for what seemed for hours. I sat there as shock engulfed me in a whole; a fog that wrapped me within itself. I wanted to open my mouth, trying to give myself some sort of reassurance, but nothing came, my mind was still processing what I had witnessed.I grazed over my leg, waiting for pain to strike through, to make me regret ever touching the wound. No agonising pain, but all I felt was the soft touches of fingertips over the bare skin. No blood, no cracks, no cuts… Nothing but soft smooth skin.My breathing hitched my throat, maybe a mirage or dream or something I hoped to see, only to be pulled back into reality as the pain took its effect, but even as I sat there, waiting for that thought to become reality.. it simply didn’t.I shook my head several times and rubbed my eyes, making sure what I saw, is what I saw. Letting out a deep sigh, I hung my head in my hands, feeling completely overwhelmed and lost.
