When Alex heard a car door slam outside, she shot up from the chair she was seated on in the kitchen and ran out of it towards the front door, then she stopped herself in her track when she heard footsteps coming towards it.

She realized that she had stopped herself in time not to look like she had been waiting around for Gabe to come back home so she could hear the outcome of the meeting that was held.

She could have called Cara, she thought, but then she shook her head. Doing that wasn’t right enough, even though she was her best friend and the person that would be happy enough to tell her. The fact that this was about her was something that would make Alex look like that was all she ever cared about and not how she might be feeling made her happy to have not called her.

Later, after Gabe had told her what the outcome was, then she would call her to know how she was feeling and whether or not she wanted her by her side. This was something best friends do for one another, be there

  • Mate on His Front Door   Dinner With Gabe's Family

Cooking after all that Gabe had told her about the meeting was hard. She was so unenthusiastic about the cooking that she took longer than she usually would, but she was glad that Gabe was talking with his family to occupy them, so they didn’t really notice the delay. If they did though, they said nothing, which was also perfect. She sighed as she continued to dish the food, then the kitchen door opened to show Fabio. “Hey, Ms. Harris. Have you heard about the meeting from alpha Gabe?” he asked her. For a split second, she hesitated, not sure whether or not to admit that kind of thing. She still didn’t want Fabio to think that Gabe told her everything, even though there was nothing wrong with that. She just didn’t want the criticism that might come from it, but if she knew Fabio, she knew he wasn’t like that. The only thing was, she was still hesitant to even after that, so she shook her head to lie. “Not yet, Fabio. I couldn’t ask him about it, seeing as his grandmother and broth

  • Mate on His Front Door   Late

When Alex woke up the next morning, her whole body felt like it was run over by a truck, and that was because she hadn’t gotten much sleep last night. She had woken up earlier this morning and looked around to find herself sleeping against the bathroom door in a very uncomfortable position. She had sat there after she came into her room when dinner was over to think about the things that Gabe told her. The fact that the child that Mason and Marilyn had concealed was not human just didn’t sit well with her, because now, that meant she couldn’t be with Gabe, no matter what he said and didn’t say. After, when Gabe walked her to her room after he had excused himself to “talk about something” with her, he had tried to soothe her fear but he couldn’t. He had been so frustrated with her feat that he had yelled at her to stop acting like a child and that had triggered the tears she was holding back, trying to keep at bay. Although she had waited until he was out of the room before she burst

  • Mate on His Front Door   What To Do Next?

“So what was all that about, mom?” that was the first thing Cara asked the next morning when she met with her mother at the coffee shop. She had gone to the house to find it empty and called her mother, and she told her she was at the coffee shop. Her father had gone out for a meeting, whatever that was about, seeing as he was retired. At least, that was what her mother had told her. That could be a lie and he was doing something she didn't want her to know about, something that had to do with what she was asking her about now. Either way, she would get to know what it was in the long run. Reading her mother was something she was really good at. She would know as they talked where her father had gone to. “Mom, I asked you a question. What was that about?” she said when he mother made the show of drinking out of her coffee cup for far too long. Finally, she dropped the cup and looked at her. She had been avoiding looking at her since she came to sit in front of her, and because she

  • Mate on His Front Door   Dark Scars

They got to the mall's building and Cara parked the car in the parking lot. This had become a normal thing whenever Cara wanted to clear her head, and Alex had nothing better to do at home with Galatia and Gabe working, and Naomi at the pack house, she had agreed.Getting down from the car, Alex grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder, and waited for Cara to get out as well when Dee did the same. She got down as well, and then they walked hand in hand into the building with smiles on their faces. They started to walk to different stores, checking things out, with Alex hanging back for a while. She didn't really want to get so many things and have them charged to the card she had with her even though she knew it was going to buy a whole lot if she wanted, because again, Gabe had given her his card, but taking it doesn't mean she would use it like that."Alex, I see what you're doing, don't hang back. You can buy the whole building with that card, so stop acting like that." Cara

  • Mate on His Front Door   Shopping Gone Wrong

"Come out, Alex. Let's see how the dress looks on you." She heard someone say, the voice dragging her out of her thoughts. Widening her eyes at that, she quickly bent to pick up her jacket and held it against her thigh, just as Cara open the door and peeked in. Slowly, she walked out to the door and stood there to see Dee, and the two attendants waiting outside with a smile on their faces. Her heart started to beat fast as she held the jacket against her thigh and looked at them from one person to the other. Cara was still standing before her, admiring the dress, then suddenly, she grabbed the jacket out of her hand. "For God's sake, Alex, this dress actually looks great..." her voice trailed off. When she grabbed her jacket out of her hand, Alex used her hand instantly to cover the scars but it didn't do any covering at all. She looked up at them all to see the smiles on their faces slipped off, replaced with frowns. One of the attendants pointed to her thigh and she made a noise fro

  • Mate on His Front Door   A Call for Gabe

Gabe was on his way out of his office to his room to get a shower when he noticed that someone was trying to connect to his mind link. He had been working on something with Galatia for the last few hours and had just finished up to go get a shower while Galatia went to the kitchen to find something they could eat.He wondered who was trying to mind link with him. It could be Dean, but he was in the office and the range would be too far. It could also be Cara, it wasn't impossible considering the distance isn't that much. It could also be someone else, but he wasn't sure why they just couldn't pick up a phone to call him if it was that difficult. Sighing, he walked to his room and shed his clothes, and then he got into his bathroom. The person was still trying, he could feel the claw of it in his mind. If after his shower the person had not been able to connect to him, he would connect to whoever it was himself. He turned on the faucet and rested against the wall as the water started

  • Mate on His Front Door   Messed Up

Goodness, this was just messed up. What in the world was he supposed to do about this now? It wasn't as if he was God and could do anything or everything, if not, he would have changed what would happen today or even turned back the hands of time. But, that wasn't possible and he wasn't stupid enough to think that he could. Gosh, this was not looking good. He was going to have to know what to do. He had to know what it was to do, or else, it wouldn't end well. Soon, he was looking at the building that was a few blocks away, and he drove even faster until he got to the parking lot of the building. He parked his car and got out of it, locking it as soon as he got out, and then he started to rush into the building. He didn't need to act cool or anything. He just needed to get to Alex. He spoke to Cara since the link was still there. "I'm here, come out and let me see you." He said."Okay, alpha." She said and started to come out of the bathroom, then she turned back to the bathroom sink

  • Mate on His Front Door   Taking Her Home

He was able to get her out of the dressing room but not before watching her break down totally and cry like a baby. It was then that Gabe realized that she must have been holding unto her tears, not wanting to cry in front of him. She had trembled so badly with her hands wrapped around her knees, and her face buried in her palms with her shoulders quivering so badly.Gabe had put his hand on her knee and he had patted it slightly and said. "We're going to sort this out, you hear me? But you have to stop crying, dry off the tears from your eyes and let's go home. When we get there, we'll talk about this, okay?” He promised. Of course, it didn't work right away, but he was able to convince her, and finally, she stood up from the floor and allowed him to take her out.As he did, he communicated with Cara through the mind link. "Cara, get her things. You both know what to do here. Don't leave them remembering any part of today that has to do with her." He said and then he walked away wit

  • Mate on His Front Door   Epilogue

Epilogue Three years Later “Gaby, go call your papa for dinner. He should be in his room.” Alex told her three year old daughter. Little Gaby shook her head and said. "No, mommy. Papa is being a wolf outside with Alex.” she pointed to the door of the kitchen that led to the backyard. Alex had two beautiful daughters, twins, Gabrielle and Alexis. They were her life, and she loved them so much. Nodding, she smiled at the girl and shook her head at her as she licked her lollipop. She kept telling them both it was going for their teeth, but their father would sneak it to them. She could tell the only reason Gaby wasn't hiding her candy lollipop was that she was carried away. "Gaby, what's that you have in your hand?” she asked her. “Huh,” she removed the lollipop from her mouth and started at it for a second, then she quickly hid it behind her. Smiling, Alex shook her head.Soon, she heard footsteps coming towards the kitchen door and Gabe stepped inside, Alexis behind him. She al

  • Mate on His Front Door   Shaken

Alex slept for two hours straight and she had just woken up five minutes ago. She was standing in the kitchen with Gabe standing at the end of the table watching her as she moved around, slicing this and salting that.Mrs. Teddy just arrived ten minutes earlier with the ingredient she had listed off at the hospital, and he had instructed her to wash them and get them all ready and sorted for her. That made Alex's job easier for her. She was making brown rice, fried salmon, and chicken soup. She already had the pot in the cooker and she had put in all the vegetables she chopped into it; including the spinach and broccoli. They are low in calories, and they are a great source of calcium, iron, vitamin C, and heart-healthy antioxidants. She allowed the vegetables to cook on medium heat until they were soft. She stir-fry the vegetables for a little while before she added the boiled chicken and seasoning to it. She was cooking it in the special way her mother had taught her how to. She

  • Mate on His Front Door   Getting Food

After bringing the coffee, Tim asked them to wait outside, and not to go home until they were able to see the cute little baby that just joined the family. Sitting outside with his wife, Gabe wrapped his hand around Alex's shoulder and pulled her to him so that she would rest against him. “Do you think we should stay? You look tired.” “I am, but we should wait.” She said. Thankfully, Tim soon poked his head out of the hospital room's door, and he said to Gabe. "Come on, Gabe. You can now see the baby." He said. With a nod, he stood up. "Will you stay here?” “I'll come with you.” She said and he nodded. They proceeded to the room and followed Tim to the side of Cara's bed. Cara was carrying her daughter and she used a pink blanket to wrap around her. Gabe could have sworn that the baby was as pink as the blanket itself. She was so beautiful and she had chubby cheeks. She was closing her eyes so Gabe couldn't see the color of they were but he knew that they would be beautiful. Cara

  • Mate on His Front Door   Happy For Cara

Alex was all happy, smiling and nodding at everything Cara said. She had had a peek at the baby before she was taken away so that they could clean her properly. She was so pink and so beautiful that Alex's heart swelled with pride and happiness for her friend. This was what people called a bundle of joy. She was going to be experiencing it soon, in a few months, and she couldn't wait. Although, she had also seen the pain that came with it, and that scared her, but the happiness in her heart at the moment didn't allow her to dwell on it. This was the first time that Alex witnessed childbirth, and so far she feared and loved the experience, the feeling she got. She bent down to whisper into Cara's ear and told her that she was going out to see Gabe.“I'm so happy for you both.” She wanted to say, but she could see that Cara was already so tired. Telling her that would make her all pumped up to talk more about her own feeling and how happy she was. “Okay, you should do that.” She said

  • Mate on His Front Door   Pearl's Arrival

Getting out of the car even before Gabe parked it made him so angry he wanted to yell at her, slamming on the brake before she could jump out. Why the hell was she acting so reckless all of a sudden when she could as well calm down and still get to her sister in the end? He gave her a look that could have melted her head off if that was possible and gritted his teeth. "That was dangerous, Alex. Why did you think it was okay to open the car door when I haven't even stopped the car?”“I'm sorry.” She said, her voice a little bit low. Her phone had been ringing off the hook since they were on their way here. She had picked it every time, and Cara kept telling her to get herself there if she didn't want her to kill her. “You could have been killed if I didn't stop the car. You almost got down from the car if I didn't stop you.” “I wasn't thinking straight.” She said. She had been so distracted, thinking about the kind of pain that her sister must be going through, with the pain that

  • Mate on His Front Door   The Call

Alex had just woken up a little minutes past six o'clock in the morning when her phone rang. She had been sleeping with her body half across Gabe's body so she tried to get off him but his hand tightened his hold around her waist. He moaned and moved even closer to her, pushing his face into the crack of her neck. He sniffed and moaned again. He was probably dreaming about her, or at least, that was what she thought was happening.“Gabe,” she called softly. "let me get up, okay.” She said. She wasn't sure he heard her but she would try. She was tired but her phone was ringing, and for someone to be calling at that time, it must be something important.“Gabe, remove your hand off me. I need to get to my phone.” She said again. She tried raising his hand that was across her belly but he was not bulging. She raised her head to look up at him to see his eyes were now wide open, with no residual of sleep on his face. He had been watching her sleep, and she wondered for how long that had

  • Mate on His Front Door   Pillow Talk

"Alex, finish the bowl," Gabe instructed and Alex made a sour face, not liking the situation at all. She wondered what she had gotten herself into and how she would get herself out of it. "Gabe, I am done. I am not hungry anymore." She whined and pushed the tray away. She held her breath as she said that, hoping that would work and he would leave her the heck alone. "Finish it. You are pregnant. You need to take care of your diet now. I don't want you to black out as you did after the honeymoon." He said and picked up the bowl. He was determined to make sure she finished the food, and if that required him spoon-feeding her himself, then that was exactly what he would do. Filling the spoon with the soup, he raised his hand and extended it towards her mouth, opening his in a gesture for her to go the same. Groaning in a complaint, she finally opened her mouth and allowed him to slide the food inside.“I won't black out again, you know. The doctor already examined me.” She said and he

"And I take her to be my lawfully mated wife,” Gabe said, and the elder that officiated their marriage said. "You may kiss the bride.”Alex knew that she would always remember Gabe's sweet reaction when he turned to kiss her as the elder had said. He was smiling brightly, his eyes laced with tears of joy. She could tell he was as happy as she was even though she had been getting cold feet at the beginning of the day, up until the start of the ceremony itself. He caught her lips as he kissed her passionately, her searing hot mouth making her want more than the kiss he was giving, but she couldn't have. They were outside after all, with a lot of people present, and she wasn't about to give them a free show. That would be doing something nasty. As Alex lost herself in the kiss, it was the loud cheer of the people around them that drew her back a little. She could tell that they were all so happy for them. At least, most of them. There was no way everyone around a person will completel

  • Mate on His Front Door   Happy Day

Today was one of the happiest days of Alex's life, no doubt. She was not just happy though, she was elated, or any other word she could use to describe the way she felt at this very moment. It also happened to be the day she had been waiting for and dreaming about since she became a grown woman. She had basically prepared her mind for this very day and now that it was here, she was glad, feeling ten folds of the happiness she had always dreamt of. She couldn’t wait to be addressed as Mrs. Berkeley, and today was the day she was going to say “I do” to the man that she loved so much, even though it was just going to be one of the wedding ceremonies, it was as important as the one they would do at the pack house to have them officially mated. It was more or less a joining of some sort. She had always dreamt of spending the rest of her lifetime with the man that loved and cared for her and her family this way. She was just too happy to express her joy. She realized that the way she was
