“Do you have any idea where she is now?” Cara who had been silent for a while asked their mother, and she shook her head.

She had thought that that was impossible but she didn’t want to be pessimistic or sound like one. “But why give her away when the rule surrounding her birth says that she doesn’t have to be given to the alpha as his concubine?” She asked.

“That was alpha Gabe's rule, Cara, one he didn’t make until he was old enough to know what the rule meant. I was not planning for the death of the former alpha or anything so I was scared that my child would be the concubine for someone as old as that.” Their father said.

Dean nodded his head, but not in agreement with what he had said. There was nothing better about doing that at all. “Oh, I see. So you mean what you did, giving your own child away, not raising her, was a much better idea than that?” he asked, with his brows raised. “Shouldn’t you have given her the chance to grow up and choose it yourself? It’s not as if she h

Tim heard the collision before he could see it. Yes, he saw it. He was mated to Cara and would be able to link into her mind and see through her eyes, but that was only when she was in trouble, just as the same goes for her as well. He stood up from the couch where he was sitting in front of the fireplace and started to shout her name. “Cara, are you all right?” he kept asking even though he could see the collision of the truck with her car. There was no way she was all right. The image wasn’t so clear because she was closing and opening her eyes, and he was trying so hard to fight through her fear. He saw through her eyes as she opened her eyes one last time and he was able to see the plate number of the truck, and that he was now driving away. Snapping out of his clothes, he got out of the house and started to run to the woods and through it. While he ran, his mind linked with Dean's and alpha Gabe's to tell them what had just happened. He needed them to clear the scene and go af

  • Mate on His Front Door   Old Wounds

Alex yelped as soon as she got out of the car, her knee weak and her body all going numb. She could see the car that she knew Cara owned wrapped around itself as it lay upside down on the side of the road. There was so much blood on the floor beside it that it made her dizzy and tired from the inside. She ran from where she stood to the car to see Cara, but she was not there as she fell to the ground. She saw a sign with the blood that made her think someone had dragged her out of the car. She didn’t know when she started to cry, but her face soon felt wet. She looked up at Gabe with a frown on her face. “She's gone, Gabriel.” She said. Gabe nodded his head. “Yes, Tim was here to take her to the hospital, while Dean followed the truck driver. All I have to do here is to get rid of the car, and get to the pack hospital to see her.” “Why was she taken to the pack hospital and not the normal hospital.” She asked innocently. “We are werewolves, something only a few humans know about.

  • Mate on His Front Door   Getting Better

Alex watched the way they looked at him as he spoke to them, and all the respect they showed was something he had never seen before until now. She had only assumed that the way he rapport with Fabio and Max and the way they do to him was the way it should be. She could feel them watching her with whispers and questions, but she wasn’t even caring about that at the moment. All she wanted to do was see Cara and know whether or not she was fine, hopefully all right and awake. They went downstairs to where Gabe said the hospital was and at the end of the stairs was a room with a door on the far left side with a door down the corridor. In front of the door were Tim, an elderly man, and a woman. The woman was crying with her face buried in her hands, just like she had done earlier when she was crying. Alex could tell that she was Cara's mother seeing she looked like her. The man should be her father but she wasn’t sure. Perhaps, she would get to know who they were when she got to them an

  • Mate on His Front Door   Meeting Luna

“I’ve handed him over to the police.” That was all Alex could hear Dean whisper to Tim and Gabe in the room they were all gathered. They had gone back upstairs and were now sitting in the common room. That was what they called their living room; a large living room where there were plenty of couches and love seats. That was music to her ears, the fact that the man responsible for putting Cara in the ICU had been handed over to the cops was just enough to make her sigh. She was glad, to say the least, and the only thing she had to worry about now was when Cara would make a full recovery. “That’s good. We'll talk about what happened later. Right now, the pack members that are here want to meet their Luna. The news had gone around even though we only told the doctor who she was. He must have told someone or something.” Gabe said and Dean nodded. He glanced at Alex and gave her a nod, which Alex reciprocated, then he walked to sit where Tim was seated in the corner of the room with his h

  • Mate on His Front Door   End in Pain and Pleasure

Alex left with Gabe much later, and she was able to go down to the pack hospital to see Cara. She was still unconscious, but she could see that she was doing better. As they drove home, Alex thought to ask Gabe some of the questions bothering her. She had asked a number of them from Ms. Alice and Dee who were willing to answer her, but the more they answered, the more confused about things she was. But first, she needed to ask something about Cara's accident. She glanced at him and cleared her throat as she watched him drive home. “Gabe, I need to ask you something.” As if Gabe was expecting that, he said, “Shoot,” in the next breath. He was focused on driving but he could sense her watching him, and her uneasiness as well, and that told him she had something going through her mind. “What happened exactly? I mean how did she get into the accident? Was she driving drunk, or was it the driver? Was she on her phone? Was she distracted?” she asked. He sighed and nodded his head. “I ca

  • Mate on His Front Door   Treacherous Body

That night, Alex wasn’t able to sleep, and she turned and tossed for about two hours or so. She had wondered what Gabe was doing in his room or worse, in his shower. He had told her point blank that he was going to be having a cold shower because she had turned him on by mentioning his name. She wouldn’t have known the kind of havoc she wreak by just calling him Gabriel if he hadn’t told her, and that was probably what would come to her mind every damn time she called him. That was cruel, Alex must say, but she guessed she liked what he did, putting her hand on him to feel what she did to him. To be honest, that had been the exact reason she was here thinking about him instead of being so deep in sleep the call of her name won’t wake her. She had remembered how wide and long he felt under her palm, and thinking about it again made her eyes widen and another lump form in her throat. “I really need to get some sleep.” She muttered. She was supposed to be asleep by now, not awake, not

  • Mate on His Front Door   Turned On

After using the bathroom, she cleaned herself up, washing herself with cold water before splashing some on her face. She couldn’t believe that she had dreamt about her and Gabe being together. That was by far the “not so innocent” thing that she had done in her entire life. She walked out of the bathroom and walked to the balcony of her room. She sat on the recliner chair that was there, wishing she could get something cold to drink just to pull her out of the daze she was still in. “It’s really lame that I’m like this.” She muttered to herself, admitting that she was not only acting weird but lame as well. She looked up at the clear night sky that had looked so much like it would rain earlier in the night, to having plenty of stars and a half moon in the sky. If anything, it should be a full moon soon and it would be nice to see the sky even then. She had been looking forward to the sight for a while now. It’s been a while since she saw a full moon, she had either missed it by a s

  • Mate on His Front Door   Remember This

Still inside Alex's room, with Gabe right in front of her, she prayed for an intervention but it didn’t come. Then she was going to have to take control of the situation on her own if she wanted anything to happen. She looked up at him taking a single step back so that she would be able to breathe. She shouldn’t be this close to Gabe, to be honest, because it would only lead her to want what she couldn’t have. Perhaps, she couldn’t blame him much now, not after knowing all he had told her the other time, but what he was doing here at two something in the morning was what she didn’t understand. “Gabe,” she called, stopping herself from calling him, Gabriel. That had, after all, been the highlight of what had caused the drama that had happened tonight. “I don’t know what you think you would achieve by coming here and making me mad, but I’m not letting you “sleep” in my bed with me.” She said, dropping her hands to her sides. Gabe took back the distance she had taken from them to walk

  • Mate on His Front Door   Epilogue

Epilogue Three years Later “Gaby, go call your papa for dinner. He should be in his room.” Alex told her three year old daughter. Little Gaby shook her head and said. "No, mommy. Papa is being a wolf outside with Alex.” she pointed to the door of the kitchen that led to the backyard. Alex had two beautiful daughters, twins, Gabrielle and Alexis. They were her life, and she loved them so much. Nodding, she smiled at the girl and shook her head at her as she licked her lollipop. She kept telling them both it was going for their teeth, but their father would sneak it to them. She could tell the only reason Gaby wasn't hiding her candy lollipop was that she was carried away. "Gaby, what's that you have in your hand?” she asked her. “Huh,” she removed the lollipop from her mouth and started at it for a second, then she quickly hid it behind her. Smiling, Alex shook her head.Soon, she heard footsteps coming towards the kitchen door and Gabe stepped inside, Alexis behind him. She al

  • Mate on His Front Door   Shaken

Alex slept for two hours straight and she had just woken up five minutes ago. She was standing in the kitchen with Gabe standing at the end of the table watching her as she moved around, slicing this and salting that.Mrs. Teddy just arrived ten minutes earlier with the ingredient she had listed off at the hospital, and he had instructed her to wash them and get them all ready and sorted for her. That made Alex's job easier for her. She was making brown rice, fried salmon, and chicken soup. She already had the pot in the cooker and she had put in all the vegetables she chopped into it; including the spinach and broccoli. They are low in calories, and they are a great source of calcium, iron, vitamin C, and heart-healthy antioxidants. She allowed the vegetables to cook on medium heat until they were soft. She stir-fry the vegetables for a little while before she added the boiled chicken and seasoning to it. She was cooking it in the special way her mother had taught her how to. She

  • Mate on His Front Door   Getting Food

After bringing the coffee, Tim asked them to wait outside, and not to go home until they were able to see the cute little baby that just joined the family. Sitting outside with his wife, Gabe wrapped his hand around Alex's shoulder and pulled her to him so that she would rest against him. “Do you think we should stay? You look tired.” “I am, but we should wait.” She said. Thankfully, Tim soon poked his head out of the hospital room's door, and he said to Gabe. "Come on, Gabe. You can now see the baby." He said. With a nod, he stood up. "Will you stay here?” “I'll come with you.” She said and he nodded. They proceeded to the room and followed Tim to the side of Cara's bed. Cara was carrying her daughter and she used a pink blanket to wrap around her. Gabe could have sworn that the baby was as pink as the blanket itself. She was so beautiful and she had chubby cheeks. She was closing her eyes so Gabe couldn't see the color of they were but he knew that they would be beautiful. Cara

  • Mate on His Front Door   Happy For Cara

Alex was all happy, smiling and nodding at everything Cara said. She had had a peek at the baby before she was taken away so that they could clean her properly. She was so pink and so beautiful that Alex's heart swelled with pride and happiness for her friend. This was what people called a bundle of joy. She was going to be experiencing it soon, in a few months, and she couldn't wait. Although, she had also seen the pain that came with it, and that scared her, but the happiness in her heart at the moment didn't allow her to dwell on it. This was the first time that Alex witnessed childbirth, and so far she feared and loved the experience, the feeling she got. She bent down to whisper into Cara's ear and told her that she was going out to see Gabe.“I'm so happy for you both.” She wanted to say, but she could see that Cara was already so tired. Telling her that would make her all pumped up to talk more about her own feeling and how happy she was. “Okay, you should do that.” She said

  • Mate on His Front Door   Pearl's Arrival

Getting out of the car even before Gabe parked it made him so angry he wanted to yell at her, slamming on the brake before she could jump out. Why the hell was she acting so reckless all of a sudden when she could as well calm down and still get to her sister in the end? He gave her a look that could have melted her head off if that was possible and gritted his teeth. "That was dangerous, Alex. Why did you think it was okay to open the car door when I haven't even stopped the car?”“I'm sorry.” She said, her voice a little bit low. Her phone had been ringing off the hook since they were on their way here. She had picked it every time, and Cara kept telling her to get herself there if she didn't want her to kill her. “You could have been killed if I didn't stop the car. You almost got down from the car if I didn't stop you.” “I wasn't thinking straight.” She said. She had been so distracted, thinking about the kind of pain that her sister must be going through, with the pain that

  • Mate on His Front Door   The Call

Alex had just woken up a little minutes past six o'clock in the morning when her phone rang. She had been sleeping with her body half across Gabe's body so she tried to get off him but his hand tightened his hold around her waist. He moaned and moved even closer to her, pushing his face into the crack of her neck. He sniffed and moaned again. He was probably dreaming about her, or at least, that was what she thought was happening.“Gabe,” she called softly. "let me get up, okay.” She said. She wasn't sure he heard her but she would try. She was tired but her phone was ringing, and for someone to be calling at that time, it must be something important.“Gabe, remove your hand off me. I need to get to my phone.” She said again. She tried raising his hand that was across her belly but he was not bulging. She raised her head to look up at him to see his eyes were now wide open, with no residual of sleep on his face. He had been watching her sleep, and she wondered for how long that had

"Alex, finish the bowl," Gabe instructed and Alex made a sour face, not liking the situation at all. She wondered what she had gotten herself into and how she would get herself out of it. "Gabe, I am done. I am not hungry anymore." She whined and pushed the tray away. She held her breath as she said that, hoping that would work and he would leave her the heck alone. "Finish it. You are pregnant. You need to take care of your diet now. I don't want you to black out as you did after the honeymoon." He said and picked up the bowl. He was determined to make sure she finished the food, and if that required him spoon-feeding her himself, then that was exactly what he would do. Filling the spoon with the soup, he raised his hand and extended it towards her mouth, opening his in a gesture for her to go the same. Groaning in a complaint, she finally opened her mouth and allowed him to slide the food inside.“I won't black out again, you know. The doctor already examined me.” She said and he

  • Mate on His Front Door   Honeymoon

"And I take her to be my lawfully mated wife,” Gabe said, and the elder that officiated their marriage said. "You may kiss the bride.”Alex knew that she would always remember Gabe's sweet reaction when he turned to kiss her as the elder had said. He was smiling brightly, his eyes laced with tears of joy. She could tell he was as happy as she was even though she had been getting cold feet at the beginning of the day, up until the start of the ceremony itself. He caught her lips as he kissed her passionately, her searing hot mouth making her want more than the kiss he was giving, but she couldn't have. They were outside after all, with a lot of people present, and she wasn't about to give them a free show. That would be doing something nasty. As Alex lost herself in the kiss, it was the loud cheer of the people around them that drew her back a little. She could tell that they were all so happy for them. At least, most of them. There was no way everyone around a person will completel

  • Mate on His Front Door   Happy Day

Today was one of the happiest days of Alex's life, no doubt. She was not just happy though, she was elated, or any other word she could use to describe the way she felt at this very moment. It also happened to be the day she had been waiting for and dreaming about since she became a grown woman. She had basically prepared her mind for this very day and now that it was here, she was glad, feeling ten folds of the happiness she had always dreamt of. She couldn’t wait to be addressed as Mrs. Berkeley, and today was the day she was going to say “I do” to the man that she loved so much, even though it was just going to be one of the wedding ceremonies, it was as important as the one they would do at the pack house to have them officially mated. It was more or less a joining of some sort. She had always dreamt of spending the rest of her lifetime with the man that loved and cared for her and her family this way. She was just too happy to express her joy. She realized that the way she was
