He had one more meeting at a restaurant before he had to go home to his mate. He had been told by his secretary at the last minute, but thankfully, it was still late afternoon, and not evening, because he would have canceled it.

He had not been able to concentrate properly throughout his meetings today, but it was coming to an end. After this, he was going home to Alex. Although, something wasn’t right with her and he could feel it, even though she didn’t say much to him. No, she didn’t even say anything, but he knew.

Yesterday, when he had gotten home, she had welcomed him somehow, not as she normally would, and had even gone straight to her room after serving him dinner. He wasn’t sure what was going on, but maybe he would have to ask Cara. After all, she should know. She was her best friend. She had gone out to meet her yesterday as well, so if anyone should know, she was the one.

He had been too busy today, but maybe after he got home, he would call her to find out. Sighing, he

He saw the man with them bend to kiss Alex on the cheek. It was on the cheek, but he didn’t care. She was his and no man should be touching her in any way, but him alone. He walked to them, and before his lips could touch her cheek, he yanked him off her and pulled him away from her completely. The man was huge and tall, so he was surprised to see himself being yanked like a paper slip. He looked shocked to even more that someone pulled him, so with a frown, he asked. “Who the hell are you?” He didn’t need to say anything, because Alex pushed back her chair, and then she said. “Gabe… I mean, Mr. Berkeley. What are you doing here?” she asked him. Cara was also surprised too, and she dropped her mouth open. She was not expecting this behavior from Gabe, and she was more surprised because she didn’t understand why he reacted that way. She was still frowning when Alex answered Ethan's question. “He’s my boss, Mr. Gabe Berkeley.” She said simply, and the expression on his face changed.

  • Mate on His Front Door   Obsessed With His Luna

The moment they entered Berkeley Moore that evening, Gabe saw Alex at the security house with the guard that was on duty, Gary. She was talking about something with him, and he wondered what that was all about. His sight became so dark as the gold in his eyes came out. “Slow the car down, Fabio.” He said, his voice coming out a little harsher than he intended. Alex threw her head back and laughed at something Gary said and he clenched his fist. Fabio stopped the car instead, then he looked at his boss's line of sight and saw what made him so angry. Gabe made to get out of the car, opening the car door, but Fabio's voice stopped him. “Sir, I don’t think you should stop them or interrupt their conversation. I’m sure it would only make her furious and confused.” He said.“But what is she doing with him at this time of the evening when she’s supposed to be at the house doing one thing or the other.” He said. “Dammit!” Gold whispered, already awake. Gabe was a leash surprised at how f

  • Mate on His Front Door   Hangout Breach

Cara was still bothered about Gabe's outburst the other night, so much so that she thought of it for a very long time until she couldn’t take it anymore. She decided to ask him about it when she got to his house. She had told him she was coming today and they would be hanging out at his place this weekend anyway, they being Dean, Gabe, and Tim. She was only just inviting herself to the hangout. It had become a thing for them; hanging out on the weekend like this when none of them have any arrangement or meeting, and that was the only time they get to talk about personal stuff they couldn’t talk about at work, or at the pack's house. Most of the time, Time would tell her what it was they talked about, so she was as good as being there. Cara could see the Berkeley Moore come into her view as she drove and rounded the corner that led to the fence of his property. This place was really amazing, she couldn’t get over the awe she felt whenever she came here. He loved coming here. It was

  • Mate on His Front Door   What's Going On?

Before she could open her mouth to talk though, Tim looked at her with his hand raised and he said. “Wait a minute, you’re not calling off the wedding, are you?” he asked, an apprehensive look on his face. Laughing would be considered too cruel, but she couldn’t keep her smile at bay. Why would he even think that? Just because she didn’t answer outright, Tim began to pale a little, so she quickly shook her head. “Of course not. Why would I do that?” She asked. “Did you do anything bad?” He shook his head and she stood up to walk to the chair he sat down on and patted his shoulder. “Don’t worry, you’re stuck with me. You can’t get rid of me that easily.” She said and walked back to her chair. To Gabe, it was as if he was watching a movie. He shook his head and snorted at the display. If he didn’t know any better, he would think that they both wanted to tide the time over so that Cara won’t state her reason for being here. Dean frowned, and then he asked. “What’s going on then?” he

  • Mate on His Front Door   It's Far From Over

After Gabe excused himself from the grill room, he walked back to the corridor that led to the stairs. Frowning, he said. “I haven’t seen Alex this morning.” Unconsciously, he walked to the kitchen and found her at the sink. She was so engrossed in what she was doing that she didn’t notice him come in. It was either that or she just thought to pretend that she didn’t. That didn’t matter to Gabe anyway. He walked to her and put his hands on her shoulders. Alex jumped so badly, turning to him with her right hand wrapped in a fist. She swung it towards him but he was quick to grab her waist and stop her. “Easy, baby. It’s just me.” He said, chuckling. “What the heck, Gabe?” she asked him wide-eyed. “You scared the shit out of me.” She said, huffing. He nodded his head. “I’m sorry about that. I didn’t mean to scare you. I thought you heard me come in.” he told her, an apologetic smile on his face. She blew out a long breath, and then she stepped back and got out of his reach, walki

  • Mate on His Front Door   She's My Mate

After what he said, he saw her give him a nod, to his surprise. He had half expected her to deny having anything to talk about with him or even roll her eyes, something, anything to match how he thought she was feeling towards her when she ignored him. Smiling, he kissed her forehead, and he walked out of the kitchen. He needed to get to his room to take his phone. He was expecting a call from someone and it was important so he had to pick it up. He remembered it when Cara was about to say what she came for. He wondered what that was, but he soon took it off his mind. The way Alex reacted to him was what came to mind now, replacing the need to know what Cara was on about. She had said something but her body and reaction had said something else and he had been overjoyed by that. He had been so confused that something was wrong, but now, he knew it was doubt planted by someone that was working. It wouldn’t be for long though. He was going to tell her who she was to her, and announce

  • Mate on His Front Door   Looks In Their Faces

Slowly, he turned around, to look at their faces. He needed to see their faces when they took in what he had said, their expression, surprise or shock. It would be priceless to see how they look when they realized that they had been wrong. For a moment, they didn’t react, but then what he said begin to sink in and Cara dropped open her mouth, her jaw hanging low with shock. She furrowed her brows in confusion, and Gabe recognized the look on her face. He knew it too well. It was that of doubt, but she wasn’t doubting him. Cara was doubting herself, not sure she had heard correctly. She was sure that that was the case because she couldn’t have heard what she thought that she did. There was just no way she had heard Gabe right. Dean tried to act as if he was surprised by his outburst as well, but he failed. Thankfully, no one aside from Gabe noticed. They had both concluded that whenever he told the other two, he had to act as if he was also only hearing it for the first time, so the

  • Mate on His Front Door   Buried In Work

Buried in a stack of hundreds of papers, Gabe looked around for the document he needed for the financial statement on the contract he would be mailing back to the German ambassador, but it was nowhere to be found. He shook his head unconsciously tapping his pen, and then he slammed it against the desk, then he cursed. “Dammit.” He sighed. “How the hell am I supposed to find something here in the midst of all this chaos?” He asked no one in particular. “Maybe I should have allowed Cody to come in today as he suggested.” He said, referring to one of his workers. Standing up, he began to look for it one after the other and after several minutes of carefully searching for it, he realized that it wasn’t there at all. He had been working for a few days and he didn’t realize something important was missing. “Damn.” He picked the receiver of the office phone from its cradle and dialed Dean's number. It must be in his office. Perhaps, he had left it there with him the last time he went the

  • Mate on His Front Door   Epilogue

Epilogue Three years Later “Gaby, go call your papa for dinner. He should be in his room.” Alex told her three year old daughter. Little Gaby shook her head and said. "No, mommy. Papa is being a wolf outside with Alex.” she pointed to the door of the kitchen that led to the backyard. Alex had two beautiful daughters, twins, Gabrielle and Alexis. They were her life, and she loved them so much. Nodding, she smiled at the girl and shook her head at her as she licked her lollipop. She kept telling them both it was going for their teeth, but their father would sneak it to them. She could tell the only reason Gaby wasn't hiding her candy lollipop was that she was carried away. "Gaby, what's that you have in your hand?” she asked her. “Huh,” she removed the lollipop from her mouth and started at it for a second, then she quickly hid it behind her. Smiling, Alex shook her head.Soon, she heard footsteps coming towards the kitchen door and Gabe stepped inside, Alexis behind him. She al

  • Mate on His Front Door   Shaken

Alex slept for two hours straight and she had just woken up five minutes ago. She was standing in the kitchen with Gabe standing at the end of the table watching her as she moved around, slicing this and salting that.Mrs. Teddy just arrived ten minutes earlier with the ingredient she had listed off at the hospital, and he had instructed her to wash them and get them all ready and sorted for her. That made Alex's job easier for her. She was making brown rice, fried salmon, and chicken soup. She already had the pot in the cooker and she had put in all the vegetables she chopped into it; including the spinach and broccoli. They are low in calories, and they are a great source of calcium, iron, vitamin C, and heart-healthy antioxidants. She allowed the vegetables to cook on medium heat until they were soft. She stir-fry the vegetables for a little while before she added the boiled chicken and seasoning to it. She was cooking it in the special way her mother had taught her how to. She

  • Mate on His Front Door   Getting Food

After bringing the coffee, Tim asked them to wait outside, and not to go home until they were able to see the cute little baby that just joined the family. Sitting outside with his wife, Gabe wrapped his hand around Alex's shoulder and pulled her to him so that she would rest against him. “Do you think we should stay? You look tired.” “I am, but we should wait.” She said. Thankfully, Tim soon poked his head out of the hospital room's door, and he said to Gabe. "Come on, Gabe. You can now see the baby." He said. With a nod, he stood up. "Will you stay here?” “I'll come with you.” She said and he nodded. They proceeded to the room and followed Tim to the side of Cara's bed. Cara was carrying her daughter and she used a pink blanket to wrap around her. Gabe could have sworn that the baby was as pink as the blanket itself. She was so beautiful and she had chubby cheeks. She was closing her eyes so Gabe couldn't see the color of they were but he knew that they would be beautiful. Cara

  • Mate on His Front Door   Happy For Cara

Alex was all happy, smiling and nodding at everything Cara said. She had had a peek at the baby before she was taken away so that they could clean her properly. She was so pink and so beautiful that Alex's heart swelled with pride and happiness for her friend. This was what people called a bundle of joy. She was going to be experiencing it soon, in a few months, and she couldn't wait. Although, she had also seen the pain that came with it, and that scared her, but the happiness in her heart at the moment didn't allow her to dwell on it. This was the first time that Alex witnessed childbirth, and so far she feared and loved the experience, the feeling she got. She bent down to whisper into Cara's ear and told her that she was going out to see Gabe.“I'm so happy for you both.” She wanted to say, but she could see that Cara was already so tired. Telling her that would make her all pumped up to talk more about her own feeling and how happy she was. “Okay, you should do that.” She said

  • Mate on His Front Door   Pearl's Arrival

Getting out of the car even before Gabe parked it made him so angry he wanted to yell at her, slamming on the brake before she could jump out. Why the hell was she acting so reckless all of a sudden when she could as well calm down and still get to her sister in the end? He gave her a look that could have melted her head off if that was possible and gritted his teeth. "That was dangerous, Alex. Why did you think it was okay to open the car door when I haven't even stopped the car?”“I'm sorry.” She said, her voice a little bit low. Her phone had been ringing off the hook since they were on their way here. She had picked it every time, and Cara kept telling her to get herself there if she didn't want her to kill her. “You could have been killed if I didn't stop the car. You almost got down from the car if I didn't stop you.” “I wasn't thinking straight.” She said. She had been so distracted, thinking about the kind of pain that her sister must be going through, with the pain that

  • Mate on His Front Door   The Call

Alex had just woken up a little minutes past six o'clock in the morning when her phone rang. She had been sleeping with her body half across Gabe's body so she tried to get off him but his hand tightened his hold around her waist. He moaned and moved even closer to her, pushing his face into the crack of her neck. He sniffed and moaned again. He was probably dreaming about her, or at least, that was what she thought was happening.“Gabe,” she called softly. "let me get up, okay.” She said. She wasn't sure he heard her but she would try. She was tired but her phone was ringing, and for someone to be calling at that time, it must be something important.“Gabe, remove your hand off me. I need to get to my phone.” She said again. She tried raising his hand that was across her belly but he was not bulging. She raised her head to look up at him to see his eyes were now wide open, with no residual of sleep on his face. He had been watching her sleep, and she wondered for how long that had

  • Mate on His Front Door   Pillow Talk

"Alex, finish the bowl," Gabe instructed and Alex made a sour face, not liking the situation at all. She wondered what she had gotten herself into and how she would get herself out of it. "Gabe, I am done. I am not hungry anymore." She whined and pushed the tray away. She held her breath as she said that, hoping that would work and he would leave her the heck alone. "Finish it. You are pregnant. You need to take care of your diet now. I don't want you to black out as you did after the honeymoon." He said and picked up the bowl. He was determined to make sure she finished the food, and if that required him spoon-feeding her himself, then that was exactly what he would do. Filling the spoon with the soup, he raised his hand and extended it towards her mouth, opening his in a gesture for her to go the same. Groaning in a complaint, she finally opened her mouth and allowed him to slide the food inside.“I won't black out again, you know. The doctor already examined me.” She said and he

  • Mate on His Front Door   Honeymoon

"And I take her to be my lawfully mated wife,” Gabe said, and the elder that officiated their marriage said. "You may kiss the bride.”Alex knew that she would always remember Gabe's sweet reaction when he turned to kiss her as the elder had said. He was smiling brightly, his eyes laced with tears of joy. She could tell he was as happy as she was even though she had been getting cold feet at the beginning of the day, up until the start of the ceremony itself. He caught her lips as he kissed her passionately, her searing hot mouth making her want more than the kiss he was giving, but she couldn't have. They were outside after all, with a lot of people present, and she wasn't about to give them a free show. That would be doing something nasty. As Alex lost herself in the kiss, it was the loud cheer of the people around them that drew her back a little. She could tell that they were all so happy for them. At least, most of them. There was no way everyone around a person will completel

  • Mate on His Front Door   Happy Day

Today was one of the happiest days of Alex's life, no doubt. She was not just happy though, she was elated, or any other word she could use to describe the way she felt at this very moment. It also happened to be the day she had been waiting for and dreaming about since she became a grown woman. She had basically prepared her mind for this very day and now that it was here, she was glad, feeling ten folds of the happiness she had always dreamt of. She couldn’t wait to be addressed as Mrs. Berkeley, and today was the day she was going to say “I do” to the man that she loved so much, even though it was just going to be one of the wedding ceremonies, it was as important as the one they would do at the pack house to have them officially mated. It was more or less a joining of some sort. She had always dreamt of spending the rest of her lifetime with the man that loved and cared for her and her family this way. She was just too happy to express her joy. She realized that the way she was
