After dinner that night, Alex went to bed a little earlier than expected, falling asleep as soon as she laid down. She realized that she was back in her house. This time, she wasn't in front of the house like, in the first dream, she was in the basement.

She wasn't sure what she was doing there or was she was going to do, but she knew she was there for some reason. She was feeling sleepy as she stood there, looking around. This wasn't the basement she remembered, Alex realized. She was not sure when the basement was ever like this, but it was good that she couldn't remember this. She didn't ever want to remember a place like this.

It was dark, and cold, and looked like a place that was staged in a horror movie. She couldn't see the things that surrounded her and she wasn't sure of what they were.

Alex's last knowledge of the basement was a better version of whatever this was. The one she remembered looked like a man cave with a single couch, a big screen television set, and then a pla

Gabe had just finished working when he thought of going down to the kitchen to get some water. He should have left the mini fridge in his room filled with water, he thought as he got out of his room. As he descended the stairs, he heard something, or rather, someone calling out something. He furrowed his brows into a frown and then he walked to where the sound was coming from, realizing that it was from Alex's room. Now, he could hear what she was saying so clearly."For goodness's sake, help me, I'm trapped down here. Help me." She was saying that over and over, so he quickly opened the door of her room, thinking that he would see her trapped under something. He wasn't sure what could have fallen on her to trap her, but that was all he could think of as he ran there. What he didn't expect to see what her lying on her bed with nothing wrong with her, or nothing pressed on top of her, trapping her down. But, well, something was wrong with her, really wrong. She was in the middle of the

Gabe felt something behind her arm as he held her and he wondered if that was another scar. It was small, but it was there, taking up space and clawing at him to know what it was. He arched his head forward as he held her so that he would be able to see what it was. He had seen this before, he thought. Squinting his eyes and scrunching up his face in confusion, he tried to remember where he had seen that before. It didn't come to him as fast as he hoped that it would, so he did the logical thing to do. Pulling back from her, he peered down at her and asked. "Huh, where did you get this?” It was better to ask than to crack up and pick at his brain just to remember. He really had seen the mark somewhere, he just couldn't tell. He stared at Alex and saw her trying to look at what he was talking about. She looked back at him with a shrug. “I don't know. I guess I've had it since when I was a child or something.” She said. Mentioning that, Gabe suddenly remembered where he had seen th

The next morning, Gabe called a family meeting that included the Wilsons. They all sat at the dining hall to have breakfast first, so they were seated around the long table with a hearty breakfast laid out across the table. It didn't take as much as Alex wanted for the breakfast to end seeing as she was dreading what this meeting was about. When they had spoken about it last night, they had sat there for a long time, and then she had asked him what they were going to do next, and he said they had to have this meeting with her parents, then after that, she was going to have to go with him to her parents back at home to find out what they know. Well, she was dreading that even more than she was dreading this one, but it didn't stop her from looking so scared. What was she expecting to happen as they talked about this? The worst that could happen was for them to be disappointed that she was the child they left. What would Cara say, how was she going to react? And Dean? What would his

The silence was deafening for what seemed like a long time. This was all a dream, or at least, that was what Marilyn was thinking. She looked at Alex, refusing to look away. No, she couldn't even if she tried. This was her, the daughter she had blatantly given away without looking back just because she thought that was best. She could feel the pain that was at her chest, constricting so hard she thought her heart might burst right out of her chest. The fact that she was standing right in front of her wasn't what was killing her, but standing right in front of her for all this while and she hadn't recognized her. What mother doesn't recognize their child, no matter how long they had been separated? She should never have allowed her husband to talk her into giving her child away, not that she was trying to put the whole blame on him. Sobbing, she used her hand to rub at her aching chest, and she shuddered at the way she was feeling. Oh, God! This was too much for her and she felt

  • Mate on His Front Door   Calling Home

The morning had just been silent all through, especially since the Wilsons had gone back home. Cara had been reluctant to leave though, but Dean had lectured her on how Alex needed time and whatnot like that. If anything, time was not what Alex needed, she thought as she sat in her room, on the bed with her back down against the soft material of the sheet she had changed the night before, and stared up at the ceiling, it had been all she had had to waste. Now, all she wanted were an explanation from her parents, the two sides of them, and how she had ended up being concealed as a human when she wasn't. That bomb had been dropped right into her lap with her hands tied at the back and with no idea of what to do with it. She had to deal with the fact that she was behind in getting to know who she was, and other stuff like that.“I don't even know how to feel about all of these.” She said, her voice coming out lower than she intended. There were so many things rushing through her head n

“What's going on?” Alex wondered as she walked down the stairs to where she heard the argument coming from. She had a big frown on her face, confused about what could be happening. She was nervous to find out because this was the first time she was hearing something like this happen in Berkeley Moore. Her palms were all sweaty and she could feel her heat racing. She soon realized that the shout was coming from the living room, so she walked towards it. As she got to the door, she saw Fabio glancing at her, and quickly, he rushed to her as if to stop her from coming into the room. That made her frown deepen. “What's going on, Fabio.” She asked at the same time Fabio said. "You shouldn't see this, Ms. Harris. It's nothing you have to concern yourself about.”“I don't care what you think,” she said when she heard Gabe yell again, this time a lot clearer than she heard from upstairs. "I just need to know what is going on.” She said. “I don't understand what you mean, alpha.” She heard

  • Mate on His Front Door   Talking To Dean

Ever since that afternoon when she had discovered that Gabe was the reason for Max leaving, she had just decided to keep away from him and do things that she liked when she wanted. She wanted to show him that he wasn't enough to hold her back if and when she wanted to do something. Although she was using the fact that she had just discovered a whole lot of things about her as an excuse for acting out, she was nonetheless. She would sometimes go out to the pack house to meet with Dee and her daughter, take them to lunch, who to Ms. Alice's room to talk with her, and even meet with Cara. Ever since they had both discovered that they were sisters, they had become even closer than they were, trying as much as possible to spend massive time together and stuff like that. Her parents; Mason and Marilyn seem not to know how best to approach her, and she was also keeping them at arm’s length as much as she could. She wasn't ready to face them and talk about stuff or do some bonding shit tha

She love to show off that side of her thigh, seeing as it was scar-free.After she was dressed, she called a cab, and then she did her make-up, putting red lipstick on her lips, a dash of blush, and little use of foundation and powder. She used black eyeliner and a little amount of black eye shadow to make her eyes look smoky, and then she used her mascara wand to brush up her eyelashes. She grabbed a pair of black strappy heels and sat on the bed to wear them, and then she grabbed her black purse, and she was ready to leave. She had done her hair and used a flat iron on it when she finished taking her shower the other time, so her hair was good to go. • Mate on His Front Door   Epilogue

Epilogue Three years Later “Gaby, go call your papa for dinner. He should be in his room.” Alex told her three year old daughter. Little Gaby shook her head and said. "No, mommy. Papa is being a wolf outside with Alex.” she pointed to the door of the kitchen that led to the backyard. Alex had two beautiful daughters, twins, Gabrielle and Alexis. They were her life, and she loved them so much. Nodding, she smiled at the girl and shook her head at her as she licked her lollipop. She kept telling them both it was going for their teeth, but their father would sneak it to them. She could tell the only reason Gaby wasn't hiding her candy lollipop was that she was carried away. "Gaby, what's that you have in your hand?” she asked her. “Huh,” she removed the lollipop from her mouth and started at it for a second, then she quickly hid it behind her. Smiling, Alex shook her head.Soon, she heard footsteps coming towards the kitchen door and Gabe stepped inside, Alexis behind him. She al

  • Mate on His Front Door   Shaken

Alex slept for two hours straight and she had just woken up five minutes ago. She was standing in the kitchen with Gabe standing at the end of the table watching her as she moved around, slicing this and salting that.Mrs. Teddy just arrived ten minutes earlier with the ingredient she had listed off at the hospital, and he had instructed her to wash them and get them all ready and sorted for her. That made Alex's job easier for her. She was making brown rice, fried salmon, and chicken soup. She already had the pot in the cooker and she had put in all the vegetables she chopped into it; including the spinach and broccoli. They are low in calories, and they are a great source of calcium, iron, vitamin C, and heart-healthy antioxidants. She allowed the vegetables to cook on medium heat until they were soft. She stir-fry the vegetables for a little while before she added the boiled chicken and seasoning to it. She was cooking it in the special way her mother had taught her how to. She

  • Mate on His Front Door   Getting Food

After bringing the coffee, Tim asked them to wait outside, and not to go home until they were able to see the cute little baby that just joined the family. Sitting outside with his wife, Gabe wrapped his hand around Alex's shoulder and pulled her to him so that she would rest against him. “Do you think we should stay? You look tired.” “I am, but we should wait.” She said. Thankfully, Tim soon poked his head out of the hospital room's door, and he said to Gabe. "Come on, Gabe. You can now see the baby." He said. With a nod, he stood up. "Will you stay here?” “I'll come with you.” She said and he nodded. They proceeded to the room and followed Tim to the side of Cara's bed. Cara was carrying her daughter and she used a pink blanket to wrap around her. Gabe could have sworn that the baby was as pink as the blanket itself. She was so beautiful and she had chubby cheeks. She was closing her eyes so Gabe couldn't see the color of they were but he knew that they would be beautiful. Cara

  • Mate on His Front Door   Happy For Cara

Alex was all happy, smiling and nodding at everything Cara said. She had had a peek at the baby before she was taken away so that they could clean her properly. She was so pink and so beautiful that Alex's heart swelled with pride and happiness for her friend. This was what people called a bundle of joy. She was going to be experiencing it soon, in a few months, and she couldn't wait. Although, she had also seen the pain that came with it, and that scared her, but the happiness in her heart at the moment didn't allow her to dwell on it. This was the first time that Alex witnessed childbirth, and so far she feared and loved the experience, the feeling she got. She bent down to whisper into Cara's ear and told her that she was going out to see Gabe.“I'm so happy for you both.” She wanted to say, but she could see that Cara was already so tired. Telling her that would make her all pumped up to talk more about her own feeling and how happy she was. “Okay, you should do that.” She said

Getting out of the car even before Gabe parked it made him so angry he wanted to yell at her, slamming on the brake before she could jump out. Why the hell was she acting so reckless all of a sudden when she could as well calm down and still get to her sister in the end? He gave her a look that could have melted her head off if that was possible and gritted his teeth. "That was dangerous, Alex. Why did you think it was okay to open the car door when I haven't even stopped the car?”“I'm sorry.” She said, her voice a little bit low. Her phone had been ringing off the hook since they were on their way here. She had picked it every time, and Cara kept telling her to get herself there if she didn't want her to kill her. “You could have been killed if I didn't stop the car. You almost got down from the car if I didn't stop you.” “I wasn't thinking straight.” She said. She had been so distracted, thinking about the kind of pain that her sister must be going through, with the pain that

  • Mate on His Front Door   The Call

Alex had just woken up a little minutes past six o'clock in the morning when her phone rang. She had been sleeping with her body half across Gabe's body so she tried to get off him but his hand tightened his hold around her waist. He moaned and moved even closer to her, pushing his face into the crack of her neck. He sniffed and moaned again. He was probably dreaming about her, or at least, that was what she thought was happening.“Gabe,” she called softly. "let me get up, okay.” She said. She wasn't sure he heard her but she would try. She was tired but her phone was ringing, and for someone to be calling at that time, it must be something important.“Gabe, remove your hand off me. I need to get to my phone.” She said again. She tried raising his hand that was across her belly but he was not bulging. She raised her head to look up at him to see his eyes were now wide open, with no residual of sleep on his face. He had been watching her sleep, and she wondered for how long that had

"Alex, finish the bowl," Gabe instructed and Alex made a sour face, not liking the situation at all. She wondered what she had gotten herself into and how she would get herself out of it. "Gabe, I am done. I am not hungry anymore." She whined and pushed the tray away. She held her breath as she said that, hoping that would work and he would leave her the heck alone. "Finish it. You are pregnant. You need to take care of your diet now. I don't want you to black out as you did after the honeymoon." He said and picked up the bowl. He was determined to make sure she finished the food, and if that required him spoon-feeding her himself, then that was exactly what he would do. Filling the spoon with the soup, he raised his hand and extended it towards her mouth, opening his in a gesture for her to go the same. Groaning in a complaint, she finally opened her mouth and allowed him to slide the food inside.“I won't black out again, you know. The doctor already examined me.” She said and he

"And I take her to be my lawfully mated wife,” Gabe said, and the elder that officiated their marriage said. "You may kiss the bride.”Alex knew that she would always remember Gabe's sweet reaction when he turned to kiss her as the elder had said. He was smiling brightly, his eyes laced with tears of joy. She could tell he was as happy as she was even though she had been getting cold feet at the beginning of the day, up until the start of the ceremony itself. He caught her lips as he kissed her passionately, her searing hot mouth making her want more than the kiss he was giving, but she couldn't have. They were outside after all, with a lot of people present, and she wasn't about to give them a free show. That would be doing something nasty. As Alex lost herself in the kiss, it was the loud cheer of the people around them that drew her back a little. She could tell that they were all so happy for them. At least, most of them. There was no way everyone around a person will completel

  • Mate on His Front Door   Happy Day

Today was one of the happiest days of Alex's life, no doubt. She was not just happy though, she was elated, or any other word she could use to describe the way she felt at this very moment. It also happened to be the day she had been waiting for and dreaming about since she became a grown woman. She had basically prepared her mind for this very day and now that it was here, she was glad, feeling ten folds of the happiness she had always dreamt of. She couldn’t wait to be addressed as Mrs. Berkeley, and today was the day she was going to say “I do” to the man that she loved so much, even though it was just going to be one of the wedding ceremonies, it was as important as the one they would do at the pack house to have them officially mated. It was more or less a joining of some sort. She had always dreamt of spending the rest of her lifetime with the man that loved and cared for her and her family this way. She was just too happy to express her joy. She realized that the way she was
