117. The buried secret

The sight in front of her was truly horrifying. Perhaps the most horrific Isabelle had ever seen in her entire life. The dagger lay on the floor with fresh blood stains, blood pouring onto the white floor from the wound in Ayana's neck. And the woman did not move, Isablle did not want to glance at her chest to make sure she was still breathing or not.

She slumped to the floor right in front of her grandmother's body, she took Ayana's hand and brought it to her chest. Cold. The woman's hand was really like an ice.

"Grandma" Isabelle trembled as she tried to call out to her and hoped that Ayana would answer her. But disappointment was all she got as Ayana did not move or even answer her.

"Grandma, can you hear me?"

No way.

"This... " she began to sob "This can't be... "

She looked at her grandma in disbelief. She had just come out for a moment, just two hours ago she saw Ayana recovering and they were hugging. Isabelle felt the warmth of the woman's embrace that made her relieved.
