The hall buzzed with conversations of the gathered alphas and the elders. My arm was firmly entwined with Dominic’s as we moved through the crowd, exchanging pleasantries and forced smiles. Every word, every laugh, felt like I was going through hell on earth.

The alphas were here to celebrate my supposed return, praising my “deeds” and lauding Dominic’s fabricated heroics. If they knew the truth, the air would be charged with rage, not admiration.

“You’ve truly inspired us all, Queen Serena,” an older alpha said, bowing slightly. “Your strength and resilience are legendary.”

“Thank you,” I replied softly despite the bitterness I felt burning in my chest.

Dominic leaned down, kissing me on my cheek, showing off our “loving” relationship. “My queen deserves every word of praise,” he said smoothly. His voice was just loud enough for others to hear.

I clenched my teeth, forcing myself to remain calm. The weight of his arm around mine made my skin crawl, but I forced myself to play the rol

The damp air of the dungeon clung to my skin as Ardan and I stood before Dominic and Sylvia’s cells. The dungeon’s flickering torchlight casted shadows across their faces, but neither of them looked defeated.Dominic leaned casually against the back wall of his cell with his smirk as sharp as ever. “You think you’ve won,” he said with his voice dripping with disdain. “But trust me, this isn’t the end.”Ardan stepped forward, with his gaze hardening. “Your reign is over, Dominic. Whatever followers you think you have will fall in line or face the consequences.”Dominic chuckled, shaking his head. “Oh, Ardan,” he said mockingly. “You’ve always underestimated the rogues. We’re not like your precious packs, bound by loyalty to one leader. We’re survivors, and survivors always find a way.”Beside him, Sylvia glared at me with her lips curling in hatred. “Enjoy your little victory while it lasts, Serena,” she spat. “You’ll always be a pretender to the throne.”I forced myself to remain calm

SERENA’S POVMoans, a pleasure driven cry echoing in a secret room. I was with him, Derek, my mate. But these sounds weren’t coming from me.He groaned from satisfaction, but I wasn’t touching him either. No, his pleasure came from Cora, his prostitute wolf. And I was forced to watch them.I was bound to a chair in the corner, watching them mate. Every thrust, every pleasured gasp from Derek, ached me. It was a violation, a reminder of my inability to do nothing, except watch.I watched as Cora sucked him out, deep throating him until she turned red. I watched how roughly Derek handled her. Pulling and grabbing her hair like she was a still object.I was unable to bear the pain of watching my mate mate with Cora, so I squeezed my eyes shut. Suddenly, the sounds ceased, replaced by a satisfied grunt from Derek. My heart raced as I scented Derek slowly approach me. He forcefully took me by the jaw and demanded that I opened my eyes.“Look at me, Omega," he sneered.I forced my eyes open

ARDAN’S POVTraining days with my Beta Thorne, usually excited me. My moves were laser sharp and I’d always won every practice round. But today, my movements were sloppy, sluggish and my focus was scattered. And because of that, it gave way for Thorne to land a blow on my arm, a feat that wouldn't have been possible on any other day.Thorne froze, his eyes widening in surprise. "My King, I—"I held up a hand, silencing him before he could launch into apologies. I was ashamed. "Leave me," I said.Thorne hesitated for a moment, his brow furrowed in concern. "Are you certain, Your Majesty? Perhaps you should—""Alone," I repeated, my voice firmer this time. With a silent bow, Thorne turned to leave, leaving me alone on the training grounds.I headed for the bathroom. When I got there, I stripped off my sweat-drenched training clothes. My reflection in the mirror showed a man sculpted for power - broad shoulders, a chiseled jaw, dark hair. Yet, beneath the facade of strength, anxiety had

SERENA’S POVA throbbing ache in my neck yanked me awake. I blinked open my eyes, the unfamiliar room coming into focus. Where was was I? I looked around the room before looking down at my body.I began to panic as I realized I was lying naked in a bed – a bed that wasn't mine. What the fuck….Glancing beside me, I found a muscular werewolf still asleep. Taking a deeper look I realized it was Joshua, a young member from Derek's pack who I had seen a few times before. My blood ran cold. If anyone came in I would a walking corpse. But I don’t remember how I ended up here. Had Derek… No, that couldn't be right."Joshua?" I croaked, my voice was hoarse. He bolted upright as if stung and his eyes widened with terror. "Serena! What…what happened?"I narrowed my gaze, my brows were furrowed, “I don’t know you tell me!” I yelled. But before he could offer any further explanation, the door to the room slammed open. Leading the surge was Derek, his face was masked with fake fury.Close behind h

ARDAN’S POVDerek did not fail to hide the confusion on his face. Why would the Lycan King, the most powerful shifter alive, intervene on a mere omega’s behalf? I ignored the stunned faces around me, focusing solely on the face sitting upright on the bed.“Put your clothes on," I commanded. My gaze then shifted to the wolf next to Serena on the bed, Joshua, I recalled. "And you," I said with a low snarl, "get out. Now."Joshua didn't need telling twice. He scrambled off the bed, hastily and fearfully. Still, Serena remained covered in the sheet, using it as a flimsy shield to hide her nakedness.Cora couldn't resist a disdainful snort. "Well, aren't you just the picture of grace," she said to Serena. "The Lycan King himself asks you to put some fucking clothes on, and here you are, clutching a sheet to your bare chest like a lost pup."My head snapped towards Cora. "If you don't want to end up as a decoration on the wall like your beta," I warned, "learn to control your fucking tongue

  • Mate? Or Die!   Chapter 5 Open your legs

SERENA’S POVThe door slammed shut behind him, leaving me alone in the silence. Tears welled up in my eyes, I felt utterly powerless, trapped in a cage.I couldn’t let Derek break me. I would survive. And when I turned twenty, when I unlocked the secrets of the box, I would find a way to my freedom. A way to avenge my parents and escape the clutches of this monstrous man.It was a long shot, a desperate hope, but it was all I had. Until then, I would play the part of the meek servant, bide my time, and wait for my chance.I straightened the simple dress one last time, forcing myself to take a deep breath. Tears had left their mark on my cheeks, but I quickly wiped them away.Stepping out of the room, I made my way towards the conference room. My heart pounded as I walked only because I wanted to meet King Ardan with utmost composure. As I entered, my gaze met Ardan. He stood by the window with his back to me. He turned upon hearing the door open, wearing an indifferent look on his fac

“Ardan?” I asked, shock showing on my face.” what are you-”“Do Not speak.” he cut me off, enunciating every word. I shut my mouth quickly and drew back, attempting to close my legs, but he would not let me.He grabbed me by the ankles and pulled me forward until my core was nearly parallel with his nose, and he sniffed. He took long, deep breaths of my core and looked like he was fighting not to leap at it.What was he doing? I could only lay there, shaking in fear and arousal, wondering what he would do next.He finally moved, dragging his tongue across my core in one long, wet path. I gasped, immediately baking up and closing my legs.“We are not doing this, and we are not doing this,” I mumbled, scrambling further backward, but Ardan refused to give me any space, closing the gap as soon as I made one.Eventually, he backed me up against the wall. There was nowhere left to run. He grabbed me by the throat, caressing my neck softly.“Don’t run from this, Serena.” He murmured into my

My wolf seemed to have a better understanding of fate than I did. After comforting myself that I should calm down and allow time to prove that there is more to what appears shallow on the surface, I laid myself to rest in a deep slumber.Every new day comes with its hurdles. I was, and I was prepared for whatever might come my way again.I stepped out to begin my day, but the person I saw was a represented day.Someone was already standing outside the door, a tall brunette with a harsh face.Emma.She was the one who raised Ardan from childhood. “Here comes the wench! Aren't you just shameless?” She announced. Her lousy voice broke my thoughts. She was fond of mocking me like I was her sworn enemy in her past life, and she was determined to humiliate me at every given opportunity.“Wash it clean and have it ironed, too.” She tossed a maid dress to me. I picked it up, and I dare not object to her. “Why are you still standing?” She asked rudely.“I. I thought you wanted me to wash this

  • Mate? Or Die!   Chapter 122 RESTORED

Serena’s POVThe silence that followed was unlike any I had ever known. I lay my head against Ardan’s chest. It was warm and it soothed all the emotions I had carried for weeks. For the first time in what felt like an eternity, I felt safe.Ardan’s chest rose and fell steadily beneath me, but there was a tension in his body I couldn’t ignore. His muscles twitched and his breaths was uneven as though something deep within him had awoken.“Serena,” he whispered.I tilted my head up to meet his eyes as I traced my fingers along his chest in small, comforting circles. “Hmm?”His next words came slowly, as if he could hardly believe them. “My wolf,” he said. “He’s back.”I sat up slightly, excited by the news. “Back?”He nodded, and the disbelief and wonder in his expression brought tears to my eyes. “I can feel him,” he said in a shaky tone. “He’s… strong. Whole.”I smiled. “The mate bond,” I murmured with a surprised tone. “It worked.”I watched as Ardan closed his eyes with the faintest

Dominic’s voice was low as he leaned against the edge of the table in his chambers with his sharp eyes locked on me. The tension in the room was clearly suffocating.“Do you even know what it means to be a rogue, Serena?” he began with a hint of bitterness in his tone. “Do you understand what it’s like to be cast aside? To be hunted and branded as a monster, no matter what you do?”I stood rigidly across from him with my hands clenched at my sides. “I know they’ve been wronged,” I said carefully, refusing to let him see the discomfort his intensity caused me. “I know their suffering is real. That’s why I’m telling you there has to be another way.”Dominic laughed bitterly. “Another way,” he repeated mockingly. “You sound just like Zone. Always the optimist, always looking for the “peaceful” solution.”The mention of Zone caught me off guard, but Dominic’s expression darkened as he continued.“We weren’t always enemies, you know,” he said, with his voice softening for a moment. “Zone a

Ardan’s hands were warm and I hadn’t realised that I longed for his touch ever since.“You shouldn’t be here,” he whispered.“And let you suffer alone?” I said softly, brushing a strand of hair from his face. “Not a chance.”Ardan’s eyes locked onto mine. “Dominic is dangerous, Serena. He’s not just playing games. He’ll kill you if you stand in his way.”“I know the risks,” I replied, squeezing his hand. “But I’m not leaving without you.”“You’ve always been stubborn,” he murmured as he smiled.I smiled back. “And you’ve always worried too much.”His expression grew serious again. “I’m not worried without reason, Serena. This place—it’s crawling with Dominic’s loyalists. And Sylvia…” He paused. “She’s just as dangerous in her own way

  • Mate? Or Die!   Chapter 119 THE BANQUET AND THE BOND

The hall was alive from murmur of voices from different corners of the room to the clinking of crystal glasses. My reflection stared back at me from a gilded mirror in the corner, crown on my head felt heavier than it should and the gown Dominic had chosen for me felt like chains instead of fabric. The royal banquet was for me or rather, for the version of me Dominic had paraded before them—the returning queen, the picture of grace and power. My face was painted into a mask of composure, but inside, I was breaking.“Chin up, Serena,” Dominic said in a low and commanding tone as he leaned in close. His hand rested possessively on the small of my back, making me irritated. “You’re a queen now. Act like it.”I bit the inside of my cheek to keep me from snapping at him. Every part of me wanted to rebel, to wipe that smug expression off his face, but I couldn’t afford to act recklessly. Not yet. With a firm grip, he gu

  • Mate? Or Die!   Chapter 118 ANCIENT BOOK

The heels of my shoes clicked against the floors of the entrance of the mall, a sound that got on my nerves with every step and not to talk about the tight skirt Dominic had forced me into that left little room for comfort or dignity. The fabric kept on clinging to my skin. Beside him, Sylvia clung to his arm with her whiny voice filling the air.“Do we really have to bring “her” along?” Sylvia complained, throwing a pointed glare in my direction.Dominic, disguised as Ardan, didn’t spare her a glance. “She stays,” he said abruptly with his tone leaving no room for argument.Sylvia huffed, stomping her feet in protest. “Fine. But don’t expect me to enjoy this.”I didn’t hide my lack of interest in their shopping excursion either. The thought of spending hours trailing after them while they indulged in trivial luxuries was nauseating. But Dominic noticed my quiet displeasure, and his grip on

Ardan’s PoVMy surroundings came back to me in pieces. I felt a grave amount of sharp, unrelenting pain, as the scent of antiseptic burned my nostrils. My head throbbed with each breath, and I struggled to open my eyes against the blinding white light. The first thing I saw was a familiar figure standing over me, Micheal. His hands were steady as he cleaned and dressed the wounds that filled my body.Michael, once a trusted family friend and the royal wolf doctor—someone I’d thought of as a brother. Now, standing in this enemy-controlled space, tending to me under Dominic’s command.“Michael,” I said hoarsely with my voice barely above a whisper. His hands were still, but he didn’t look up. “Save your strength, your majesty,” he said softly with a professional tone. The title hit me like a slap. It felt hollow coming from him, reminding me of what I’d lost. I was angry and my anger

Sylvia found me in the dungeon with Ardan and Dominic. She lunged at me, wanting to hit me when I stepped back and she fell on her face.“Go back there, now!” She demanded but I refused to move. “Dominic, tell her to move!” Sylvia demanded but Dominic chuckled. He told Sylvia to get out.“Get out? Pardon me?” Sylvia asked confused.“Don’t make repeat myself, Sylvia.” Dominic threatened and with her head low, she walked out of the dungeon.I then stood behind Dominic, watching Ardan’s battered body writhing on the stretcher. His wounds festered with angry red streaks spreading over his skin. I heart broke by just merely staring at him.Dominic stood tall in front of me. He turned his head slightly, as he looked over Ardan with indifference. “He’ll survive—hopefully,” he muttered.I stopped myself from lashing out. Sally was furious. She hated the way I was still even in this circumstance. But I couldn’t risk it. Not yet.Ardan’s eyes landed on me. His voice was hoarse. “Serena… what ar
