Nikki's POVI make my way to Marcus' apartment in the evening, still feeling uneasy after my conversation with Lillo earlier. I want to make things right between Marcus and me, but I'm not sure how to do that. When I arrive at his door, I see Marcus locking up his apartment. He looks up and sees me standing there. "What do you want, Nikki?" he asks, his voice cold and distant."I just want to talk, Marcus," I say, trying to keep my voice steady. "Can we please go inside and talk?"Marcus hesitates for a moment, then shakes his head. "I don't want to talk to you right now, Nikki. Please just leave."My heart sinks as I realize that he is still hurt and angry about my past. I take a step back from his door, feeling tears welling up in my eyes."Okay," I say softly. "I'll leave. But please know that I'm sorry for making you feel that bad by taking you back to your past, I never meant to hurt you. I was only being sincere with you."Marcus lets out a deep sigh, but he doesn't look at me.
Syrill's POVI quickly gather my thoughts and turn to my brother and two of my guards who are standing nearby. "Rowan, let's go to the old woman's house. I need to see this for myself.""Alright, Alpha."We quickly made our way out of the pack house, down to the woods where I went with my son, where the old woman was living. It's a small, dilapidated hut which I reconstructed because of my son, on the outskirts of our pack territory. Reaching there, the door is locked, but my guards break it down easily. The inside of the house is musty and dark, with cobwebs and dust covering everything, far worse than we saw it the previous time we came checking. We make our way to the back room, where the old woman used to keep my baby. The emptiness of the room is deafening, but I notice a small chest in the corner.I walk over to the chest and open it. Inside, I find a few old baby clothes, some baby blankets, and a worn-out diary. As I sift through the contents, I notice a folded piece of paper
Marcus POVI pull out my phone and dial Alpha Syrill's number, eager to discuss the business contract we've been working on. After a few rings, he answers, his deep voice coming through the line."Marcus, how are you?" he greets me warmly."I'm good, Alpha. We need to finalize the details of our contract. Can we meet tomorrow to go over everything?" I ask."Of course, Marcus. Just let me know the time and place.""Great, I'll send you the details. Oh, and there's something else I wanted to talk to you about," I pause for a moment, gathering my thoughts. "I've met my mate, Syrill. I'll be bringing her to the pack house soon."There's a brief moment of silence before Syrill speaks up. "That's great news, Marcus. I'm happy for you. What's her name?""I'd rather not say just yet, but I can assure you she's special. I hope you'll get the chance to meet her soon," I reply, a smile spreading across my face."Looking forward to it, Marcus. And congratulations once again," Syrill says warmly.
Syrill's POVAs the sun begins to set, the members of my pack gather in the square, eagerly awaiting the rise of the full moon. It's a tradition that's been carried out for generations, a time where all eligible wolves come to meet their fated mates.I stand at the center of the pack square, watching as my pack members mingle and chat amongst themselves, their excitement palpable in the air. The anticipation builds with each passing minute, until finally, the full moon rises into the night sky, casting a radiant glow over the square."Welcome, my fellow wolves, to the full moon ceremony," I announce to the crowd. "Tonight, we gather to celebrate the union of mates and the strength of our pack."As I stand at the edge of the square, watching the festivities unfold, cheers and howls rang out across the area. I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride for my pack. Cheers and howls ring out across the square, and I can't help but feel a sense of pride for my pack. This is what it means to
Nikki's POVI take a deep breath as I look around the unfamiliar surroundings of Marcus's newly completed house. This is my new home now, the place where I'll raise our child and spend the rest of my life with my fated mate."Are you okay, love?" Marcus asks, placing a hand on my swollen belly.I smile, feeling the warmth of his touch. "I'm okay," I reply, "just a little overwhelmed, I guess.""It's normal to feel that way," he reassures me, "but I promise you, we'll make a wonderful life together."I nod, knowing that he's right. Marcus is my fated mate, the one I've been waiting for all my life. And now that I'm carrying his child, I feel more connected to him than ever before. As I settle into our new home, I can't help but feel excited about the future. I may not know what the Moon Goddess has in store for us, but I'm certain it'll be for our good.I rub my belly, feeling the kicks of our unborn pup. I can't wait to hold this little life in my arms, to watch them grow and thrive w
Lillo's POVI hear the knock on the door and feel a surge of reluctance, but I still get up to answer it. Kryl and Rowan were here! I open the door with a wide grin on my face."Hey, guys! Come on in," I greet them cheerfully, stepping back to let them into my home.As they walk in, I notice Kryl's expression change. His eyes narrow as he looks past me to the living room. My heart sinks as his eyes meet his."Lillo, who is he?" Kryl asks, his voice tight.I hesitate, not sure how to answer. "Uh, just a friend," I say, hoping to diffuse the situation. But Kryl doesn't look convinced. "A friend?" he repeats, his tone becoming more aggressive.Rowan steps in, trying to ease the tension. "Hey, man, let's not jump to conclusions. Maybe we should sit down and talk about this."Kryl nods, but I can tell he's still upset. I lead them to the living room, trying to think of what to say next.As we all sit down, Kryl turns to me. "Lillo, we've been mates for a while now. Why would you do this to
Syrill's POVAs I walked down the hallway towards my bedroom, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief that Beta Kryl and Lillo had gone back to their home. Their tension was palpable, and I hoped they could work through whatever issues they were facing. As I neared my room, I saw the young human girl I had promised to help standing in front of my door, holding her baby in her arms."Alpha Syrill," she said, looking up at me with wide eyes. "I'm sorry to bother you, but I didn't know who else to turn to."I approached her, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. "It's okay, what's wrong?"She looked down at her baby, tears brimming in her eyes. "I...I don't know how to take care of him. I don't have any money or resources. I'm afraid I'm not a good mother."My heart broke for her and the baby. "Don't worry, we'll figure this out. Come with me."I led her to a nearby guest room, where we could talk more privately. "First of all, you are a good mother. You're doing the best you can for
Angela's POVI pick up my phone, seeing Nikki's name flashing on the screen. "Hey, Nikki. What's going on?" I ask, wondering why she's calling me.But as soon as she starts talking, I can hear the tears in her voice. "Angela, I need to talk to you. I need to apologize for everything I've done to you in the past. I know I hurt you so badly, and I'm so sorry."I'm taken aback by her words, not sure how to respond. "Nikki, it's okay. I've forgiven you already," I say, trying to comfort her.But Nikki continues to cry, her words coming out in between sobs. "No, it's not okay. I was so jealous of you, and I took it out on you. I can't believe how blind I was. And now Marcus has betrayed me, and I have no one to turn to.""Wait, what do you mean?" I say to her, interrupting her from continuing."He's been having an affair.. with his secretary." She says, her voice barely above a whisper. My heart sinks at her words. I never would have thought that Marcus, who always seemed so devoted to Nik
