Jules let out a loud groan as the red-haired girl, seated next to him, kept on hitting on him. Her left hand rested on his leg, and she stroked it in an up and down manner, irking him the more.
He couldn't hide the sign of irritation that was present on his chiselled face. He scowled and plucked her hands off for the umpteenth time. Yet, she didn't relent.
Jules wasn't only annoyed by the girl, but also by the event going on. He had been dragged to this wedding ceremony by his mother, who never ceases to meddle in his affair.
She had forced him to be present here to see if he would find any girl that would interest him.
Though she hadn't said that, he knew what her motives were.
And the red-haired made it worse because everything she was doing was getting him pissed off.
She fanned her perfectly made-up face with a manicured hand, and undid the only two buttons on the red blouse she donned.
Her ample bosoms almost sprang out of the cloth, and Jules couldn't help himself as his gaze centred on the soft mould of flesh.
“Do you Jeremy Forrest take Maggie Stone as your lawfully wedded wife, promising to love and cherish, through joy and sorrow, sickness and health, and whatever challenges you may face for as long as you may live?”
Reluctantly, he removed his gaze from the creamy flesh of the girl beside him and watched the minister recite the vows. He wasn't following what he had been saying until now.
His eyes travelled around the congregations. He noticed how packed the hall was. Aside from his influential side of the family, the girl Maggie was an actress.
So, most people present were celebrities.
Jules didn't see his mother anywhere, but she had given the couple her blessings.
It wasn't like his brother would listen to their mother if she didn't want them to wed, Jules thought.
Jeremy was as hard-headed as she was.
“I do.”
Jules' gaze travelled back to his brother, who was grinning from ear to ear as if he had won a lottery.
Then the process was repeated for the bride to recite her vows.
“You may kiss the bride!” The minister announced as the couples exchanged rings.
Applaud sounded all around the hall as Jeremy lifted the veil from his wife's face to claim her mouth.
The camera flashed, taking several shots of their lips attached and Jules could make out what the headlines would be later.
Royal wedding.
One off the market and one more to go?
Jules rolled his eyes at the thought. He stood to walk out of the seat he was on, and away from the red hair.
He noticed the disappointed look on her face, but that didn't stop her from slipping a card out of her red clutch into his hands.
Her chest grazed his hand as she leaned in further to whisper in his ear. “Call me.”
He would have found her southern accent a turn-on if she hadn't been throwing herself at him. Though he didn't mind, he had other business to attend to, which was the reason he was in this small town in the first place.
Jules shoved the note into the back pocket of his slack before walking off, not giving her a second glance.
A warm body slammed into him as soon as he stepped out of the cathedral.
“Easy.” He murmured, gripping her by the shoulder to steady her.
He couldn't see her face due to the hairdo she had on, but he could make out soft skin underneath the navy blue suit she donned.
She yelped, and her hands clutched him in fright.
He noticed the familiar feelings her touch aroused, but he didn't dwell on it, as he desired to get out of the wedding venue as soon as he could.
Janice's body stilled as she heard his voice. A jolt of electricity wickedly sizzled up her arms and where her hands came into contact with his.
Her breathing ceased, and she slowly gazed up at him.
She had been slightly drunk that night, but she could recognize the voice. The voice of the man she had willingly given herself to. The man she had let be her first without thinking.
She had blamed it on the alcohol, but she knew it wasn't true.
She wondered how foolish she must have been to cheapen herself that way.
Nonetheless, berating herself was out of the question now, since the deed was done. And strangely, it felt so right.
“Hey!”
Jules took notice of the wide-eyed lady in front of him, as well as the erratic breathing she was trying to keep at bay. The only explanation for her behaviour was, that she remembered that night, and him.
“Hi.” She forced out a smile.
“I guess we've met before,” Jules murmured casually.
“I guess so.” She repeated.
He noticed she was trying to get away from him, but he didn't know why.
Perhaps she realized the mistake she had made by giving herself to him. But, he didn't regret it and that amazes him since he never cared to take a second glance after a one-night stand because of the awkwardness after.
But this woman was different, in a startling way.
He was about to say something, but was interrupted by the newly-wed.
“Hello to the only bachelor in the family.” Jeremy grinned as he slapped his brother's back.
“Hello, to my foolish brother, who thinks being in love is the best thing.”
Maggie tutted as soon as he said that. She stepped closer to where they were and punched his shoulder. “Jerk.”
Also, his mysterious one-night stand whose name he didn't know yet look as though she would murder him for what he had said.
Jeremy shook his head, chuckling. “That's because you haven't found someone that makes your heart thump harder, someone that makes you feel butterflies in your stomach.”
“Yuck, you are such a girl.” Jules twisted his mouth as he stared at his brother.
“Janice!”
Jules watched as Maggie and the named girl hugged each other enthusiastically. It was obvious they were more than acquaintances.
“I thought you weren't interested in coming!” Maggie hollered, even as they were close to each other.
“Please.” Janice did an eye roll and continued. “Why would I miss a wedding I matched?”
So, she was a matchmaker. Jules made an interesting observation as his eyes drank in her feature.
Her winter-blue eyes that had captivated him the night before still do, and her blonde hair was in a boring fringe. Or perhaps she was on a wig, because he remembered her hair was long and soft to his touch.
Her blue trousers accentuated her perfectly shaped derrière, and he couldn't stop thinking about what he had done to them that night.
Her full lips, which were coated in bright red lipstick, crinkled at the side when she smiled, and he groaned as it stirred a feeling within him.
“I had been searching for you throughout the ceremony, but I couldn't find you,” Maggie said.
“Oh, I was outside, since I was trying my best, so your wedding wouldn't get destroyed.” She replied.
Maggie smiled. “Thank you for making this perfect.”
“Anything for you, best friend.”
Best friends? Fascinating, Jules mused. And he wondered why he hadn't seen them together, because he had known Maggie for at least five years now.
“Why don't you catch up with your brother? I'll be with Janice to check out how everything is going. Then I can show you that sexy lingerie I told you about.” Maggie winked at Jeremy.
“Oh, no! Too many details.” Janice fake gagged.
“I can't wait,” Jeremy licked his thin lips, and he tugged his wife to him.
“I might need to pluck out my eyes and cleanse my ears after tonight,” Jules mumbled, earning a glare from Maggie.
His eyes travelled to Janice, who did the same. For a moment, it looked as though they were the only people in this world. Until Maggie severed the connection by yelling her name.
He let out a sigh as he watched them move farther away from them.
“You fancy her?”
“Maggie? She's your wife, bro.” Jules said, playing dumb.
Jeremy chuckled. “You sneaky b*st*rd, you know who I'm talking about.”
Jules gave a half-shrug, but he didn't answer the question, though he knew who his brother had been talking about.
Janice let out a sigh she didn't realized she was holding. The person she had desperately been trying to forget, though it was impossible since he was a part of her now, was Jules freaking Forrest. The CEO of Forrest Inc and not only that, but also the crowned Prince of Cherview. The night they had been together, she had heard only his voice. The naughty words he whispered as he trailed kisses all over her delicate body, the way his silky fingers had made her come undone expertly. Janice had barely seen his face that night, since everything had been fuzzy, and she had taken more booze than she could hold. He had made her give herself to him without even a second thought. It wasn't her fault because Jules was the type of man that made women like her not think twice before doing his bidding. Aside from his good looks, he had the authority to get what he wanted. Janice shook her head, brushing the thoughts aside. Besides, she was here for something far more important than that. Sh
“Flowers,” Checked. “Decorations.” Checked. Janice listed as she ticked the box in front of each category. Her eyes dimmed, and she let out a groan as she realized she had been working for a long time without eating. “I should go on a coffee break soon.” She mumbled, staring at the pile of unfinished work in front of her. Yet, she knew it wouldn't be possible soon. Because she needed to finish the paperwork in front of her, and she loathed procrastination, which was becoming a part of her now. A few seconds into the work, her shoulder drooped, and her hands trembled. The pen she gripped in her hand clattered on the brown mahogany desk and rolled down to the floor. “I should probably get something to eat now, else I would pass out.” Janice rubbed her temple as she felt a headache brewing. She nudged the remaining paperwork aside before pushing herself out of the brown leather chair she was in. She undid the button of the black skinny jeans she donned to allow freedom as she
Janice snatched her car key off the brown nightstand, and she gripped the handle of her luggage with the other hand. Sighing, she stared at the room she had been staying in for the past five years. It had been a haven for her. And where she had fled to after her first heartbreak. Maggie had got the place for her and Janice had fallen in love with it right away. Now, she was leaving, where she thought she'd stay for a few more years. Even though it was the last thing she wanted to do, she was aware it was necessary. She exited the door of her flat and brought the key towards the lock. “Going somewhere?” Startled, she swirled. The key in her hand clattered to the ground, and she clutched her chest whilst staring at the man in front of her. “What are you doing here?!” Janice gasped. Her gaze widened as she glimpsed the black Cadillac, Aston Martin, and several other cars surrounding her car. “Today is the appointment to the doctor's office,” Jules said. Janice noticed him ass
She paced the vast living room, which had only a large brown love sofa and a 32 inches flat screen that was at the corner of the wall. Glancing at where she was now, she noticed how frigid and void the room was. Without the dark painting, it still was cold. Everything around him depicted his stiff personality. She reckoned that was how he always had been and would be. Even the night they had met, if she wasn't too drunk, she'd have noticed the type of man he was- a controlling, arrogant b*st*rd. And she'd have stopped herself from going in with him. At least, it would save her from what she was experiencing currently. Getting married? She pondered as her mind drifted yet again to what he had said. Her lips curled up in distaste. She glared at him as he casually stepped into the room. “I'm not getting married to you because I'm carrying your child. That is the last thing I will ever do because it is the wrong purpose for marriage. And marriage should be for love!” Jules stared a
A sigh escaped her lips, and Janice's hand collided with a hard chest as she tossed in the enormous bed. She felt around, and she sensed it wasn't a pillow, rather she was gripping a warm body! Startled, she came awake. She gazed around with wide eyes as she tried to decipher where she was in. A window positioned at the corner of the vast room was opened and moonlight streamed inside, illuminating it. The curtain rustled as the wind blew it. Janice wondered when she had a large window in her flat because she could only recall how tiny it was to even accommodate one. Moreover, she recalled the lack of air that she often suffered because of having another massive building close by. But she still enjoyed her personal space, despite how cramped it was. Her eyes travelled to the vanity, which was exquisite even in the moonlight. Several skincare products adorned it, and she glanced at the clock as it chimed. It was just past two, and she was in bed with a stranger! Was she abducte
Janice awoke to the sound of a knock on her door. Slowly, she lifted her body from the bed and discarded the brown duvet that was draped around her body. She glanced at the clock on the brown-coated wall and realized she had slept for just two hours. Also, she noticed she was alone in the room, and she wondered where Jules had gone. Janice sighed as she remembered him mentioning he had some business to do. The knock sounded again, snapping her out of her thoughts. “I'll be with you shortly,” she said whilst yanking the robe that was hung on the chair next to her. Trudging to the door, she unlocked the door, and her head peeked out. Startled, her brows creased when she saw three women with wide grins on their faces, and each curtsied. They donned the same black fashionable button-down maxi gown and a French straw bonnet was on each head. Momentarily, Janice's eyes travelled to her right as the door leading to a room next to the one she was in opened, and a male servant stepped
“This feels so nice,” Janice muttered as she lay in the pedestal bathtub. She sighed as the heated water caressed her skin, and her eyes rolled into her head at the feelings it incited in her. The Lavender and chamomile essential oils the maid had added to the water were stimulating, and she enjoyed how they relaxed her tensed muscles. Janice had never thought she would experience this sort of luxury in her life. Though she wasn't used to this extravagance, she appreciates the flat she had rented and came to know as home. Her hand stretched out to snatch the stem of the wineglass, which was next to her in a tray that was placed on the small white coffee table. She lifted the glass to her lips and took a sip. It glided down her throat smoothly, and she marvelled at how excellent it tasted. She had searched through the wine collection of Jules, and the bourbon wine had caught her attention. It had always been one of her fantasies to drink bourbon whilst soaking in a bathtub wit
Jules opened his eyes slowly, and he saw it wasn't morning yet. But, he couldn't tell what the time was since the alarm clock was at the other side of the nightstand. Also, he was feeling too lazy to swivel his head to glance at the wall clock. Perhaps, it was midnight because the moonlight was at its peak already, and the brightness illuminated the room. A smile formed on his face as he glanced at the warm body cuddled next to him. She was bare and had slept soon after their lovemaking last night. Jules twirled a white strand of hair that was spread on the pillow in his finger, and he couldn't stop grinning at how her body moulded perfectly into his. He had never gone back to the same bed again with a woman because he was frequently with different people, and the first time he met Janice; he hadn't stopped thinking about her. Jules doubted if he would ever stop. He sucked in a deep breath as her hand clutched his member. She stroked it for a while, then squeezed. But not en
Janice glanced at the door as a knock sounded on it. She rolled on the bed and snatched the hanky beside her to blow her nose. Her eyes were puffy, but she didn't care. She only wanted the pain that seemed to have multiplied ever since she moved out of the room she shared with Jules to vanish. Also, the new ones that surfaced when she knew about what happened seemed to intensify all that she had been feeling and wondered if she could do anything. As soon as she got home, she had tried to set up a meeting with Jules to talk about everything, but it seemed like he didn't want to see her because each time she went close to his room, she noticed it was locked. She didn't know where he often went and didn't have th
The next morning, Janice groaned as she came awake. She rubbed her temple and winced as she sensed a headache brewing. She recalled doing what Margie had termed to be fun yesterday. It wasn't her wearing a skimpy bikini to show off her backside to people in the castle nor did she seduce anyone as she had suggested. They had a little tea party in her room yesterday. Only that it wasn't tea they had taken. It was a brandy Margie had stolen from Jeremy's collection and hid in her bag.Music had been played as well but was on low volume because of Prince Michael and even the dowager queen since she would term the choice of their music disapproving or vulgar.
"But trust me, can you see he is suffering the same way as you?""Just drop it, Margie.""Fine." Margie shrugged. "I hope you accept him before it is too late. You should try considering him because of the prince anyway."Janice glared and puffed out a breath. "We are not talking about him anymore."Margie giggled as Janice tossed her a throw pillow. She drew an imaginary zip across her lips and tossed the key away before staring at her."How about we do something fun?"Janice creased her brows whilst staring at the twinkles in Margie's eyes.
Janice glared at the phone, continuously ringing on the nightstand, then at Margie, sitting beside her with Prince Michael in her arms."Give him a chance, I don't think he wanted to hurt you.""Well, when Jeremy does the same, I'd like to say the same to you."Margie rolled her eyes, "Jeremy wouldn't dare. Besides, I trust Jules and I know what he can do. He'd never do such. I smell blackmail."Janice shrugged, "I don't think so. We both know how Jules is before he married me. What shows he wouldn't do the same?""You should see how he stares at you, Janice." Margie enthused. "He freaking adores you and you think he would do something as awful as this with
"Janice…""Stay away from me!"Janice snapped, moving past him and down the hallway. She stepped into the room and he followed suit.Jules let out a sigh and he pinched the bridge of his nose. "At least, give me a chance to explain myself."Janice sat on the bed, her eyes were on the ceiling. Even though she could see whatever Jules was doing in the room from the corner of her eyes, she pretended like she didn't see him."Will you ever hear me out or just assume I cheated on you?"She glared at him but wished she hadn't. His eyes were sunken and bleary as if he had not slept for days.
"How dare he do that to me?!" Janice paced around the room, gritting her teeth. She balled her hands into fists and exhaled noisily through her nose."I don't think he is aware of this. I believe what Jules says, and you don't have to blame him. He is even astonished himself." Margie pointed out.She glanced briefly away from her phone, then at Janice."I don't care if he is astonished or not! Why the hell will he go about assessing everything in a skirt?!"Janice tossed her hands in the air. "I should have known he would never change. I thought he was beginning to become the kind of man I want…""He changed for you." Margie interrupted. "He mi
Jules was the first to snap out of the daze he was in. He stomped towards the woman and glared, "Lucy, I think you are mistaken.""Perhaps I need to say it again. This is your child whom you abandoned years ago. He is here now. You can take him. I don't want him anymore."Lucy shoved the little boy forwards and despite her confusion, Janice instinctively caught him before he could tumble to the tiled floor."I have no child with you." Jules gritted his teeth. He yanked her hand and tugged her towards the waiting room, which was inside the church. He noticed people were gathering. A few people took photos of him. He didn't want them to know more than t
"May I?"Janice nodded as Jules pointed to her chest. She turned, and showed her back to him, to help her undo the hooks of her brassiere. She breathed out as her ample breasts bounced free from the restraint. She rolled her eyes as she noticed Jules’ eyes on them and glimpsed him licking his lips slowly."Don't." She mumbled."Don't what?" A grin plastered on his face, "I said nothing.""I know and I am aware of what you are about to say." She mumbled, grabbing her son who was squirming in his cot.Jules shrugged, "I doubt that."
It was exactly two hours after Jules landed and Janice was a bit relieved that not only had the pain in her tummy and lower back lessened, but she could move around the room as well, without feeling like she was going to be ripped into two. The only restriction she had was that she couldn't go a long distance, but it was better than being confined to the bed. “How about you take a cold shower to help with the pain?’’ Jules asked, whilst Janice fanned herself. She nodded without hesitation and allowed him to help her out of the bed. Stripping down to nothing, she stepped into the bathtub and let out a sigh as the warm water caressed her delicate skin. Janice eyed Jules from the corner of her eyes as she noticed him watching her from the d
