The conversation between two voices, one who I recognized to be Miriam's and the other a gruff voice that sounded familiar filtered into my ears, erasing my drowsy haze. They must have thought I was still out cold because my eyes were still closed.
Damon:Standing by the door of the house Smith had shown me was Tammy's home, I waited patiently as the doorbell rang. After what felt like forever, the door opened revealing a chubby woman with a scowl on her face. On seeing me, her scowl morphed into a charming smile.
Damon:
Tammy:He carried me to the bathroom and dropped me in the bathtub before getting in behind me. I moved forward to avoid touching my back to his torso but his hand found my bare waist, wrapping around it. He pulled me to him till my back was flushed against his chest. I shivered from the contact, goosebumps appearing on my skin but not from cold, rather, from a different kind of feeling entirely.&
Tammy:I'd just awakened from my nap in Damon's room. It was the only thing I'd been doing for the past week. I rubbed my eyes gently to get rid of my sleepy haze. My gaze landed on the book I'd borrowed from Stella that I'd been reading before I slept off. It was a romance novel. I contemplated continuing from where I stopped but my stomach rumbled at that instant and the will to proceed was lost.
Damon:My ears picked up an almost silent sniffle coming from inside the room as I got closer to the door. Other than Tammy, there was no one in the room. The closer I got to the door, the more I heard her silent cry. Suddenly, my heart was heavy like it was carrying extra weight. It was obvious she was crying.
We were just about to have dinner when the doorbell rang. Tammy was going to get it but I grabbed her arm."Don't".She gave me a baffled look that said *
Tammy:When Damon told me he wanted to take me out, I'd thought it was just a casual outing until he pulled up at the front of a mansion that I was sure was a residential home.
Tammy:As I made my way to Damon's study, I contemplated different ways of informing him of my new plans. Standing by the door, I took a deep breath to calm myself before daring to knock.
