Flint coughed dryly. Before anyone else could say anything, Liam spoke in his usual deep voice, “Nothing." Sylvia gathered herself. Isabel and Flint distractedly picked up the cutlery. Caprice got into the car first. Then came John and Sherry. They entered the car from each side of the car so that they could have Caprice seated at the center, squished between her parents. She felt like had been transported to ages ago when she was just a child. She cast a strange look at them. John curled his lips into a gentle, doting smile. Sherry smiled tenderly and took her hand.
