Chapter 14 She Was Not Demeaning Herself

At the end of the day, they were still getting married.

They were childhood sweethearts and they were the perfect couple in everyone’s eyes. When she told him that she would help him accomplish his aim, she knew that they were over.

Even if she knew that this was all a set up by the Shears, even if she knew it would not matter if she had lost her innocence eight years ago, as long as she went bankrupt, Luke would definitely not want to be with her anymore.

The truth, however, was always more painful than expected.

This man was her dream man when she was in her teenage years. He was the one she wanted to stay together with since the earliest epoch of her conscious life. But at last…

Everything was a joke!

She really wanted to be the bigger person, but she could not do it. “Really? Why are you telling me this? Do you want me to congratulate you? I’m sorry, you’re overestimating me. I can’t bring myself to say something so hypocritical.”

“No one is asking you to congratulate me. I just want to tell you that no matter what you do, you can’t change this outcome anymore. So, just give up.”

“Heh…”

So, he thought she was still waiting for him?

She wanted to tell him loudly that she was doing great. All those emotional words were already at her throat, and yet, she decided to just swallow them back and not say anything.

What was the use of retorting? This man and everything related to him were none of her business anymore. Why should she explain herself?

She did not say anything. She only smiled coldly at him before leaving. Did he think that she still has not given up on him?

She was not demeaning herself.

Straightening her back, Natalie strode away with her head held high. When she got to somewhere with no one around, she leaned her back against the cold wall and took in several deep breaths.

She did not love him anymore. She did not…

But why did her heart still feel pain? Like it was about to explode?

“I thought my grandpa’s your only target. I didn’t think that you would spread your net wide.”

John’s gloomy face appeared in front of hers. While exhaling a cloud of smoke, he sneered, “You’re not picky at all.”

Actually, she did not need to feel guilty, but oddly enough she felt like she was being caught in the act. Natalie explained subconsciously, “Our relationship is not like what you think.”

“Hm, you’re right. Even though Luke Shears’ family background is good, but comparing him to my grandpa, they’re not on the same level.”

This again. This again!

No matter what she said, he could always distort her with the worst image possible. If this were another time, she would just accept it.

However, she was in a bad mood today and did not want to endure this anymore. She retorted back at him, “Yeah. If I’m so picky, why would I end up with you?”

Finishing her words, she wanted to leave without looking at him but he pulled her back strongly.

When her back leaned against the cold wall again, his cold voice hit her in the face, “Woman, I advise you to exercise some restraint.”

“Heh…”

Her frigid chuckle was piercing. John grabbed her shoulders tightly. His eyes were burning in rage. “If you dare to act recklessly while being my wife, believe me, you’ll regret it in the future.”

“Believe me, I’m already regretting it now. I don’t have to wait for the future.”

The man chuckled lightly. The words that escaped his lips were ice cold. “You’re pretty harsh and unreasonable.”

The man pinched her chin up, forcing her to look into his eyes.

John had a murderous expression. He asked profoundly, “Say, if my grandpa knows your true self, will he still be good to you?”

Her chin was in pain, but Natalie still looked at him unbendingly. “I’m sorry. He still has no idea!”

Their gazes met and there were sparks between them. For some reason, something elicited John’s interest in her again. He was looking deeper and deeper into her eyes.

This was the first time he met a woman who was so determined to go against him.

However, this was quite interesting.

Her skin felt silky smooth. His long and defined fingers could not help but caressed her chin. “Did no one tell you before? Don’t challenge a man.”

She was smiling in disdain. Not only was she not listening to him, she further challenged him, “Aren’t you telling me now?”

“You’re quite stubborn, huh?”

When he said that, the man got closer to her. He did not care that there were people walking about in the hospital. He pressed her against the door. That image was very…

She had wanted to stand firm and fight with him, but she would be in a deadlock in this position with him. She could not hold it any longer.

It would be fine if they were somewhere else. But this was her workplace, and it was after working hours. What if her colleagues saw her?

She was doubtful so she decided to push him away and keep a distance from him. However, he did not budge after her first push. She pushed him a second time and he still did not budge.

She decided to not use any strength. She glared at him with her big and beautiful eyes. “What are you doing? There are people watching!”

Hearing that, the man smirked. He purposely pressed against her like he was going to put all of his weight on her. “What about that? Are you afraid that they’ll see you?”

They were extremely close. John’s hot breath landed on her face with every word he said.

Natalie moved her gaze away deliberately to not look at him. “Can you not be so crude?”

“I’m enjoying this. So what?”

His tone was selfish. He was so overbearingly arrogant that he was being unreasonable.

The tall man enveloped her from top to bottom. One of his arms was supporting himself on the side of her neck. He had imprisoned her with a suave stance.

His long legs took a step forward and placed itself between her legs.

Natalie’s body trembled. Her beautiful pupils constricted. “You… You’re shameless!”

She looked alluring when she was mad. Her habit of biting her lips caused a tsunami wave to crash over the man’s heart. He wanted so bad to replace her teeth with his and wreak havoc on her red lips.

It was a sudden thought, but now that he had this idea in his brain, it was getting out of hand.

He squinted his piercing eyes and lowered his head. He asked softly next to her ear, “Can you use another word? I don’t feel anything after hearing it so many times.”

“Do you have the guts to be more manly? Is it…” Fun bullying me like this?

Before she could finish, the man interrupted her. His amber-colored eyes were glistening dangerously. “You want me to be more manly? Hm?”

Natalie looked at him, an uneasy feeling surfacing in her heart.

She bit her lips again subconsciously. She was about to say something when he suddenly leaned down and carried her bridal style.

Natalie was still in a daze when she was being carried to the parking lot.

After being stuffed inside the car’s backseat roughly, the man pressed his body onto hers. His lips and tongue invaded hers and they were entangled together passionately.
