Ines tried to compose herself and gently tapped against her forehead. “I just felt a little dizzy back there, maybe it’s because I haven’t been resting enough…”

Solomon put a hand over her forehead to feel her temperature. Not only was her forehead burning, but her cheeks were beet red as well.

With that, he gestured. “Let me take you back to bed so you can lie down for a while.”

After Solomon settled Ines on the bed, he covered her with the blanket before stepping out of the room to find a thermometer.

“Let me take your temperature.”

Ines frowned and protested weakly. “It’s not a fever, I just haven’t been sleeping enough…”

Before she could finish protesting, Solomon showed her the reading on the thermometer with a grave look on his face while also reading it out, “Thirty-eight point three.”

Ines was taken aback by the reading and gently brushed against her cheeks while murmuring, “Hmm…maybe a mild fever.”
