Amos looked at Wilbur. "Mr. Hammond, is there no other way?"

Wilbur shook his head. “I haven't thought of a better way for now." Then, he looked at Blair. "Consider it carefully. What's more important—love or life?"

Blair gazed at Mable lying unconscious in the examination room, "Mabes' life is more important than anything."
